Erotica~CFR~SRL~10

Good morning! Tonight from 6pm-8pm PST is an all new Camp Freddy Radio live from the Erotica LA event. I will be broadcasting with Matt Sorum and Jenna Jameson. We are going to be talking about the convention, porn, music and anything else we can get away with.

Over at HollywoodMusicTV there is a great interview with KHZ that was filmed at The Spread Radio Live Event at the Dragonfly last week. The piece includes live footage of the band and a few word from yours truly.

1. At the Asylum there has been a question regarding how much you weigh.

I hover around 150 give or take a few.

2. What happened with the drawing for the guitar? No one I was with at the show saw the entry forms.

The forms were at the merch booth. I looked into this and all the forms are with our gear. As soon as we fire up our rehearsals on Monday we can get to them and draw the winner. Don't worry, we haven't forgotten!

3. Will you be jumping into the pool in Vegas and can I jump in, too?

Well, you are certainly welcome to, but personally, I am not a big fan of "outside" in Las Vegas. Once I enter a Vegas hotel, I acclimate to the AC and keep myself barricaded in that environment. I also don't really like knowing what time it is when I am there either.

4. Do you know who you guys will be touring with in the fall? What type of venues will you be performing in?

We don't know about other bands at the moment but I do know that we want to focus again on clubs and small theaters for our own shows. The people are such a huge part of our live show that when we play for 300 people, we feel that The Panic Channel consists on 304 members on that night.

5. We've got a huge list of stations over at the asylum and have been going thru them emailing the stations...does that help?

Absolutely that helps! Thank you! Radio really depends upon listener feedback to decide whether or not they want to support a band. Emails and call ins are always a great thing for the bands you wish to support!

6. What's the deal with Go On? Will it eventually be out on iTunes?

Go On will appear on the record at certain outlets as a bonus track. I'll let you know where as soon as I have that information.

7. Will you be releasing a video of the small venues you performed in? Did you tape any segments?

We do have a lot of video from the last tour which will eventually be available at The Panic Channel site.

8. A quick question for you, have you experimented much in alternate tunings?

A lot of Trust No One was recorded using different tunings.

9. My boyfriend loves your boots, the ones with the zipper in the inside. Who makes them?

Those are my trusty old Louis Vuitton boots. I think they must be at least 7 years old by now!

10. What are our chances of seeing TPC in the UK this year?

I would say... Strong to very strong!

Editing

shoot.jpg

It has been a few days since I have checked in. I guess after our video shoot and the Spread Radio Live Event, I needed a few days to decompress. Yesterday I taped Carson Daly. I'm not sure when it airs, but if you catch it, watch closely! I think it'll be on in a week or so. Later Steve and I went over to our video edit with director Robert Hales and tweaked on the edit for a few hours. It's looking good and once again, thank you to everyone who went down to the shoot.

New show news: The Panic Channel will be playing at The Palms Casino on July 1st in Las Vegas with Camp Freddy. Of course this means that Chaney and I are doing two sets that night! It'll be a wild night.

I am going to try to hit a new Spread Radio Live today at some point, but at a different time as Steve and I are due back in the editing bay this evening.

If you want to throw some questions out, I can get to them this week. We are due for another 10.

Spread Radio Live Event ~ Historical Fact

Last night was totally amazing! Our first Spread Radio Live Event is now behind us and it is time to start planning another one. Thanx to all of our Asylum Members who came out last night, it's always great to see you guys front and center claiming your usual piece of property. It makes all the difference in the world to us. The Dragonfly was packed last night and the energy was running on super high. KHZ came out first and just KILLED it. I knew their music and I knew them as people but I had never seen them live before and all I can say is that the band is amazingly tight while Raiana is the complete package with incredible vocal chops and a slithering sexuality that is just riveting to watch. They opened with Let It Go, which has got to be toughest on the voice and she nailed it. I think I said something like, the band made me want to punch someone in the face and fuck at the same time. (it's kind of a blur, but if I did say that, it was accurate.) KHZ are for sure the ones to watch this year.

Next out was Killola and Lisa is a complete maniac on stage. She kind of makes insanity look like the way to go if you want to have sex appeal and charisma, but when it comes down to it, you know she is pretty much the only one who can pull it off. She has a really infectious voice with a style that makes you either want to take her home to mother or take her to a strip club and a gleam in her eye that lets you know that either would be OK. The rest of the band sounded incredible and they brought it hard core. Catchy songs, hot singer, great band. Why these guys aren't already HUGE stars remains a mystery to me, but we are working on it, aren't we?

Both bands were gracious enough to say a little something thanking Spread Radio Live but the truth of the matter is that without them, we would be nothing. I would like to personally thank KHZ, who flew out from NYC, and Killola for making last night a magical experience and for helping me believe what I already suspected...that we CAN take it back and create the musical community I once knew and loved when we were coming up back in the day. Thanx to everyone who came down to support the music, the station and celebrate creativity, art, entertainment and the joy of the live performance. Once again, thanx to Loop, Ro, Riss, Anthony, BCE, TPC, Killola, KHZ, Live 365, Billy Morrison for the radio shout outs and everyone all up in the house. It's time to get another one of these bitches off the ground in a few months. Can't fuckin wait!

Happy Father's Day!!! I'm off to hang with my Dad.

Tonight & Yesterday

Last minute reminder... Tonight is the first Spread Radio Live Event featuring KHZ, Killola and The Panic Channel at The Dragonfly in Hollywood. Tickets are available at The Dragonfly Online or at the door. Be sure to get there early, one of my favorite bands, KHZ, has come out here all the way from New York and Killola are just awesome. The evening starts at 9:00pm and I am planning on doing a quick broadcast from the venue. Thanx to everyone who has made this event possible... KHZ, Killola, TPC, Riss, Loop, Live 365, Anthony at The Dragonfly, Rock.com and BC Ethic.

Last night was The Panic Channel's first video shoot for the song Why Cry. We went with Director Robert Hales who did the Starfuckers Inc./NIN video and the Jet video. He is a really amazing talent. The treatment came directly from the band. It was a huge day that went deep into overtime as this clip's content should have been three days of shooting. We crammed it all into one day. Thanx to all the Agents/Cats/Asylum members who came down and waited around all day for us to get it together. A lot of hurry up and wait, but that is the deal with shooting film. It really means a lot to us to have our actual fans in this video. We wanted to keep the performance as real as we could. In fact, we even brought all our gear down and had it powered up so our instruments had that live feel to them. After the performance shoot, we jammed for a while on set. That is a first for me. Being in a band that actually wants to keep playing after a day like that. We know that videos are pretty much dead on television so we actually created a video that is intended for the Internet. More to come as this develops.

SRL Tonight: Maybe?

busoutside.jpg

One night we were rollin on the bus from somewhere to somewhere and the traffic came to a dead stop on the highway. A couple of us got out to see what was up and ahead there was a total "COPS" style sand off with several squad cars, officers with hand guns and shot guns drawn and a female suspect in a car who refused to get out. The police had stopped her by using a strip of spikes in the road that punctured all of her tires. The scene went on for over an hour. Dogs were called in, helicopters flew over head and everyone was told to "stay in their vehicles". Naturally, our drum tech Poochie and I decided to walk up and check it out. After the suspect was arrested, we headed back to the bus and Steve's guitar tech, Dan, snapped off this picture of me looking into the headlights of the bus.

This is a gnarly week, prepping for the video shoot and the Spread Radio Live event at the Dragonfly on Saturday night. We are gonna shoot for another installment of SRL, but it is kind of up in the air right now.

Summer Job

Today, I start my summer job. I have a two day press junket this weekend with Brooke, Tommy, Gilby and Jason for the Rockstar: Supernova show. For those of you who don't know what a junket is, it's where all the press outlets come and cover something, usually asking the same questions over and over. They can be really trying on one's patience, but at least I have Brooke and the guys to help soften the day. In fact, this whole week is gonna be insane. Steve, Perk, Chaney and I also have a lot of TPC stuff to do. We are shooting our video for Why Cry on the 16th and then we are playing the Dragonfly SRL show on the 17th, with rehearsals and TPC press scattered in between. It'll be a blast though. I love working and having the past two days off has been a recipe for insanity. Thank God for seasons of West Wing on DVD and the season finales of 24 and Lost, which by the way, has definitely come around in it's final episodes of the season. At least some questions have been answered and now, like a sucker, I am totally into watching season 3 of Lost. "Just as they planned!"

We have been having so much fun doing the Podcasts and video stuff that we will keep it up throughout the summer. I'm sure we will find a way to bring you more and more content as we prepare for the August 15th release of (ONe).

The (One)!

Thank you to everyone who sent the birthday wishes! I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate it than with you guys and the band last night at The Roxy. It was bitter sweet as the evening also marked the last date of our Spring Tour, but we will be back in the fall, touring harder and longer than ever before. I honestly can't wait. Also, we will be doing shows here and there over the summer so we won't actually disappear this time. The past month was absolutely amazing and the most fun I have ever had on tour.

Tonight is an all new Spread Radio Live show with my co-host Gregg Simon. I am really looking forward to getting back into the show with some regularity. We should be on around 5:30pm PST. Look for the spreadradiolive AIM name to know when we are live as always. Gregg will be at the helm of the IM windows so we can have a lot more interactivity tonight.

I'd also like to send a huge congratulations to Lyn a.k.a. OLDSCHOOL, who has become the (ONe)! Nice work dude! You have been there since day one and all of us are totally proud to have your name included in our album liner notes for all of eternity. In fact, I just noticed the plant you gave me just got greener. Yes... It is still alive and kicking right here on my desk.

Here is a short film of all of the 7 clues assembled in the right order to create the riddle, "From these black seeds the Phoenix rises". The answer, of course, is "Ashes" which Lyn was brilliant enough to figure out in 6 clues!

Gregg and I will come and join you in your homes later tonight!

Panic Podcast 10 & Spread Radio Live Presents:

Please join us for our first Spread Radio Live event at The Dragonfly in Los Angeles! Saturday 6/17-For legal reasons, this ad shows the line up as KHZ, Killola and Dave Navarro... Technically we can't mention the entire 3rd act by name due to agreements that prohibit advertising a show that falls within 30 days of a previous show featuring the very same act... But I'm quite certain that I can convince some of my close friends to join me that evening! Who knows, considering the act in question is tomorrow night, June 7th at the Roxy, I may be able to follow up with more clarity on the 8th.

Tonight is our last stop for the tour before we hit LA. We are in San Francisco tonight playing The Independent Theater. Here is a new Panic Podcast from our appearance on Live 105 this morning, here in San Fransisco.

Also, be on the lookout over at The Panic Channel as tonight we unleash Clue 6. After that, only one more clue left before someone out there becomes the (ONe)! The 7th and final clue will be posted tomorrow at some point, the closing day of our Spring Tour 2006.

SLC & Panic Podcast 9

IMG_2849.jpg

Salt Lake City, Utah... This is some old school punk rock style touring! I fuckin love it! We pull up in the morning right in front of the venue, get coffee, go in and use the bathrooms to wash up and all that, then we get into whatever radio or press thing we have for the day. Our clean laundry supply is completely drained, we aren't sleeping much at all, barely eating, awake for 2 days at a time and I have never been happier on tour. Tonight we are playing The Urban Lounge in SLC. It's one of those 500 capacity joints that looks like it can hold 200, beer stained floors, band stickers everywhere and a very small stage. In fact, it's awesome! This is totally what we wanted to do and it has really been incredible. Thank God for the wireless connection on this bus. We have been tracking the progress over at The Asylum and you guys are doing a great job with the clues! Only 2 more to go until we find the (ONe). It's hard to believe there is only 3 shows left on this tour. The way it's going I would happily stay out for the rest of the year. I am looking forward to getting back out here in the fall.

Here is a new Panic Podcast.
