Editing

It has been a few days since I have checked in. I guess after our video shoot and the Spread Radio Live Event, I needed a few days to decompress. Yesterday I taped Carson Daly. I'm not sure when it airs, but if you catch it, watch closely! I think it'll be on in a week or so. Later Steve and I went over to our video edit with director Robert Hales and tweaked on the edit for a few hours. It's looking good and once again, thank you to everyone who went down to the shoot.
New show news: The Panic Channel will be playing at The Palms Casino on July 1st in Las Vegas with Camp Freddy. Of course this means that Chaney and I are doing two sets that night! It'll be a wild night.
I am going to try to hit a new Spread Radio Live today at some point, but at a different time as Steve and I are due back in the editing bay this evening.
If you want to throw some questions out, I can get to them this week. We are due for another 10.

Wow, second? Never had that happen before. :p
Hope to catch SRL, Dave. Wow, you've been busy. Glad you're having such a great time. :)
Posted by: Ali at June 22, 2006 10:37 AM
Hey Dave, the show was great on Saturday, are you going to have either of your SRL Indie bands on your next tour?
Posted by: Kate at June 22, 2006 10:37 AM
You're back, great photo!
Question:
1. Do you know who you guys will be touring with in the fall? What type of venues will you be performing in?
2. Do you know anyone who has a cheap car for sale? haha
Posted by: Linda at June 22, 2006 10:42 AM
Hey Dave glad to see you're back checking in, i have 2 questions: 1. Will you be touring in the UK with the Panic Channel anytime soon, like the fall?
2. Whats the latest on the Camp Freddy record?
Posted by: Mark at June 22, 2006 10:47 AM
Love the pic...you're looking smokin Dave! :)
Questions for consideration...
1. Now that all your spring tv shows are on hiatus what are ya watching over the summer? Big Brother? Hells Kitchen?
2. Has "Why Cry" been sent out to the radio stations yet? How exactly does getting your song added to a playlist work? We've got a huge list of stations over at the asylum and have been going thru them emailing the stations...does that help?
Have a great Thursday Dave and everyone! The weekend is almost upon us!
Love, Amber :)

Dave - What's the deal with Go On? Will it eventually be out on iTunes?
Posted by: Schwing at June 22, 2006 11:01 AM
Will you be adding the Hello Kitty and EVH guitars to your live set up any time soon?
Posted by: Eric at June 22, 2006 11:04 AM
Damn you Dave. I had already convinced myself that it would be ok if I missed the Vegas show. The reasoning was that I have already seen CF and TPC a bunch of times and I really can’t afford it. Now you have to throw in the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Dude you are killing me. You are seriously killing me. I’ve wanted to see them for so long and I was so bummed that they won’t be there for the Friday show of street scene.
Fuck (runs back to have another meeting with my wallet)

The Panicmobile-is it done, completed, Rocking and Rolling down the road? Do you drive it? Can we see some pics with you in it and everything that was done to it at WCC?

Dave,
How do I get tickets to a taping of Rockstar?
Posted by: elizabeth at June 22, 2006 11:11 AM
Dave, did you like doing that instructional video back when you were in RHCP? That video is comedy gold! The guy interviewing you is so awkward and your responses like, "yes, there are lots of knobs on the pedals" are hilarious.
I did realize I was playing the chorus to mountain song a bit wrong, so at least I learned something.
Was that the weirdest interview you've ever been a part of?

And maybe someone should sent the pic of Carm at Dave's bday party to these jackasses! After-all "Star" magazine is usually so truthful! Fuckin bastards need to get their heads out of their asses

Carson Daly w/ Dave is scheduled to air 6/29!

Aw man... Have you guys ever had (what you thought was) a GREAT question, and you completely forget what it was? Oh well... I think we've reached the question quota anyway.
Looking forward to seeing the new video and the Carson Daly show appearance. The 29th... gotta remember that. Thanks, Amber.
Have a great day/week, everyone. Dave, decompress all you want! (I know the feeling!)

Yay! So I did my research and if everything stays the same tomorrow (payday) I am soo going. Woot woot.
I can get a flight for 30 bucks
batteries for 20
Memory for 50 of which I only pay 30 cause (I have a gift certificate)
Tickets 85 bucks
Hotel… dude who sleeps in Vegas.
All I need now is a bitching lens and I’m set. I’m searching e-bay and craigslist as I type. If anyone has a canon EF lens that they want to sell that drops down to at least f2.8 hit me up.
I know you guys don’t need a run down but I’m sooo excited. Hope nothing changes by tomorrow. Yay it looks like it’s so on. Theresa I sooo hope you can come too.
Sorry for blabbing on and on Dave. You would think I never get out. I'm so excited and I just can't hide it. (ha I'm such a cheeseball)

QUESTION:
Was a winner picked yet for the drawing (the entries that were at the shows)? If not, do you know when that's going to happen?
Keep doing what you do because no one does it better.

Hello Dave and 67'ers!
Thanks for the date info for Carson Daly show. I have to mark it down so I don't forget now..cause I have to watch very closely...heh Should I watch with binoculars?

Danni, hey girl that would be great if he released a video from some of the concerts. I wonder if he would edit me out of the video since I'm not young, big busted, and blonde?(ha ha)It would be great if he combined them, then it would look like you and I were at the concert together!
Posted by: Linda at June 22, 2006 04:09 PM
Dave,
Can you give some insight on why "Go On" was left off the album? I personally think the song is absolutely killer and is one of the best tracks I've heard from you guys.... I was stunned to see that it didn't make the album!

Linda, I would LOVE to see the June 1 concert again :)
Posted by: Danni at June 22, 2006 04:18 PM
Sonicjunkie when TPC did thier interview w/ Live105 here in San Francisco Steve said that they were indeed gonna include it on the album!! Unless they've said they aren't since then I think it'll be on there! Im w/ you...I think its a fantastic track and the album will be all the more better w/ it included!

Whats up Dave? I was wondering about the video recording of the roxy show on your birthday, still living off a high from that. Are you guys going to do anything with that in the future?
Posted by: Jeff at June 22, 2006 04:46 PM
I wouldn't line my birdcage with "Star" magazine (and I use that term loosely)....if I had a bird, that is....but I am currently giving them a *different* kind of bird, if you know what I mean....
I am so blown away by "Why Cry" (I bought a DJ promo copy off evilbay, please don't hate me)....it is one of the best songs I have heard in a long time!!! Totally awesome!!!! Can't wait until the CD comes out....
Posted by: Elizabeth at June 22, 2006 05:52 PM
hello all! thank you for the update and picture! i think the question about the guitar is a really good one..we have been wondering over in the asylum. another good question was the one asking about footage of the live shows and if you were going to put out a dvd or something from it. i would LOVE to see that! (personally, i think you guys--you know if you ever slow down enough to have some time--should make a big thing of it..make like a scrapbook from all of the photos from the tour that you guys took (that you wouldn't mind letting the public see)..maybe even some of the pictures that we took..and a live dvd covering the concerts and the acoustic performances you guys did as well)
also, on one of the panic podcasts steve mentioned something about having several acoustic videos out there on youtube...several would lead one to believe there is more than just outsider...care to tell us where??
there, there are some questions for a sunday 10. have a kick ass night!
love,
heather

Ha, so I got tickets to the Las Vegas show and they sent a ticketmaster event time update for Camp Freedy... who's Freedy?
Anywho, questions!
How long does the video editing process take? And are you going to have to reshoot anything?
Will you be jumping into the pool in Vegas and can I jump in, too?
Any idea when the winner of your signature PRS will be announced?
Any idea when mylocalbands.com will announce the top 100 people who will get to hear (ONe) first?
How glad are you to be home around familiar surroundings?

dave, if you could sum up your guitar playing in any song you have been a part of, which one would it be and why? also who is your favorite guitarist from siouxsie and the banshees and what is your favorite song that the guitarist plays on?
Posted by: mike at June 23, 2006 10:22 AM
There's been info revealed about the new album by The Mars Volta and it's exciting stuff.
I was wondering if you are a fan of the band Dave?
Posted by: Andrew at June 23, 2006 11:00 AM
How did you decide on the band that opened for you during The Panic Channel Tour? What/Who will determine the choice for the band that opens for your next tour?
Posted by: E at June 23, 2006 11:09 AM
Just a quick question, are you planning to tour Europe, especially the UK, if so will it be your own tour or supporting another band?
Posted by: Darren at June 23, 2006 02:27 PM
Okay the hair pulling, it might mean what I saw on a bummer sticker "IF YOU'RE RIDING MY ASS, YOU BETTER BE PULLING MY HAIR!" I wish I had that bumper sticker on my car before I got rear-ended!
Posted by: Linda at June 23, 2006 03:05 PM
Ahhhh We sure did miss you but are glad you've had some down time...
Some really good questions have been posted...I was wondering...
1. What ended up being the endof tour prank on B&O?
2. I'm pretty sure this has already been asked' however, what was your most memorable momment on the tour?
3. What happened with the drawing for the guitar? No one I was with at the show saw the entry forms.
Thanks for posting an update...really having a hard time waiting for (ONe) to come out...all the music and lyrics are so beautiful it's all I really wanna hear!!!
Kisses~

"Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man" - SEE IT - DON'T SLEEP ON THIS ONE!!!
W: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478197/
I'm a pretty new Leonard Cohen fan, and had no expectations of what the covers should be like. I liked them all in the movie. Thanks to this movie, I am now also a fan of Rufus - hot damn his libido is poppin' through his skin when he does them.
I liked the style in which they did this movie. Awesome covers of his music interspersed with him talking about his life and flashback scenes of his life.
I would higly recommend any Leonard Cohen fan or curious onlooker to see this movie.
FYI, now I totally want the soundtrack to this movie, "Songs of Love and Hate" and "I'm Your Man".
It also left me with two main thoughts to ponder...
The great ones don't know they are, and the fools think they are...
and...
In the face of love and on the back of truth our differences are inconsequential...

Hi Dave,
At the Asylum there has been a question regarding how much you weigh. (By no means are we saying you're overweight or anyting). Just curious, if you don't mind.

Jezebel's question reminded me of something I wanted to ask. Have you thought about doing your PhotoBooth exhibit at the Andy Warhol Museum? Granted, it's on the other side of the country, but I thought you might like the idea of your work hanging along with all of his in his museum.
