Q101-Panic Podcast 7 (Video iPod)

Tomorrow morning The Panic Channel will be appearing on the Man Cow morning show on Chicago's Q101 from 9:00am-10:30am. If I am able to capture the show, I will go ahead and make it available for Podcast. Later that night we play the Double Door and shoot straight off to Minneapolis. Turns out that Jordis lives there now so I am looking forward to catching up with her. While I have had a few days off here in Chicago, I have been able to crank out a few Spread Radio Live shows. They will be in rotation shortly. I might even turn it up again tonight, as I have seen EVERY movie on the Pay-Per-View system in this hotel. Last night I was sucked into having no option but to watch Final Destination 3.

From my room in Chicago.

Chicago - Double Door

chicagoprev.jpg

(TPC Poster by: Rantz)

Today is another day off, here in Chicago. Last night in Atlantic City one of our Agents made an amazing Panic Sigil out of a Lite Bright, but I never got a picture of it. During the show, Steve knocked it over and the little colored lights spilled out all over the stage. I was heartbroken... So, if anyone who was at the AC show got a picture of it, please send it to us! It was total Warhol/Decontsructive art type shit. For a full recap of what's been goin on on the tour, check out the new post at The Panic Channel.

Stay tuned for a Chicago Style Panic Podcast and a Deep Dished Spread Radio Live!

At The Grassy Knoll

knoll.jpg

I just got into Atlantic City after a three shows in a row run through DC, NYC and Boston. We have been hitting it hard so today is a nice day off in a hotel finally. Steve and I are going to get the next clue up on TPC and upload another cast for you. The shows have been going great and it has been amazing meeting some of you out here. Panic Circles at every show, 6767's and SRL listeners... Lots of incredible support. Today is all about web work and rest, gambling and catching up on phone calls. I'll post later with further news and we will update TPC today too.

Two quick updates:

There is a new clue posted at The Panic Channel site.

There is a new clip in the video section.

Panic Podcast 3

Our Dallas interview on KDGE is up now and is available for Podcast. Incidentally, last night in Dallas, we went over to the grassy knoll and had ourselves a little acoustic jam. We will upload some video from the evening as soon as we can. The quality isn't that great, but the occasion certainly was.

Panic Cast 2

bluedave.jpg

Here is another Panic Podcast directly from a truck stop in Texas. So far we have done two shows. One in San Diego and one in Scottsdale and both were amazing. I have trouble sleeping on the bus but somehow, by the grace of God, I got 12 hours last night on the 20 hour drive from Arizona to Texas. We have a night off tonight so we are gonna get to work on the next clue for the 7 Clues To Become The (ONe) Contest.

Wouldn't you know it? The TPC server was all jacked up today. It's fixed now. BTW, I have intentionally left the last three posts open as I don't know when I'll get my ass to a connection today. Also, later you can go to Spread Radio Live for an all new video from KHZ. For now you can watch it here:

Panic Street Circles

We seem to play better when these show up in front of the venues. All that is required is a little chalk and some candles.

6767 Podcasts:

So while we are out on this tour we are gonna use the Podcast set up on 6767 for tour updates, back of the bus boredom, on the fly interviews, maybe bootlegged shows.... Who knows? If you have a Video iPod then you can even watch the videos of things that go down on this three week tour.

The above video is an acoustic version of The Panic Channel's Outsider: Last day of rehearsal

Webcast & 7 ~ (ONe)

Today is our last day of rehearsal before we kick off this tour. We will run the set a few times and that will be that. As mentioned on Spread Radio Live last night, which by the way was a lot of fun with the whole "multimedia" format, Steve and I are going to webcast an acoustic song around 4:30 PM PST direct from the studio. Once again I can't vouch for the sound quality because this will be the first time we have tried this acoustic vibe, but we would never shy away from being your technical guinea pigs. Sure, we could test it all out before the webcast, but that would be so... safe. To access the webcast, click on the Webcast (when available) link to the right. As always, look for the spreadradiolive AIM name to know when we are on. Song of the day: Outsider ~ We figured that since we will not be doing this song on tour, that we should at least give you a personal performance of it before we go.

Later this evening at The Panic Channel site we will be launching a new contest that can be played from the privacy of your own home. We have the guitar giveaway, but not everyone is eligible as the entry forms are only available at the shows. Since we are only playing in select cities, we thought we should start something up for everybody. More on this later.

Rehearsals Etc

Today we are shooting this thing for rehearsals.com. I guess they basically film a rehearsal and put it up online. I'll let you know when that is as I am certain it's not live. Yesterday we did our own version with a live webcast from our space, although it sounded like hell because we are so loud and asking an iSight mic to deal with it. (Better to sound and look like hell than to sound and look like nothing at all.) We might do another acoustic broadcast today or tomorrow so keep your eyes on the spreadradiolive AIM name to come up with an update. That is basically the name I use when we are up to something or when Spread Radio Live is in effect. Our tour bus has wireless access so I am sure we will hit you with live webcasts from the road. Thanx for the support over at Shop 13, we will have more stuff available soon, we just wanted to get the ball rolling here. Your suggestions are for sure taken into consideration.

Webcast

That was fun although it sounded so glitchy... Next time we will go acoustic. Stay tuned for more random casts.

Well, it is a fact. The Panic Community is no more. Gone forever. We would now like to invite you to join our new board, The Panic Asylum! A place much more intense, yet just as familiar. Please "check in" to our world of cathartic purging and rehabilitation.

E3

Today we are rolling down to E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, to play some X-Box online. I don't know how great I'll be at the games as I need a pretty secure environment to excel at video games. A dark room late at night in sweats, a pack of Camels, a box of cereal or a pint of ice cream and about 12 free hours is usually the best scenario. I'm sure it'll be a blast. Walking into E3 is like eating a silicon chip that has been dipped in Acid: Lights, sounds, chaos, trails, trippy... Anyway, after we go back to rehearsal for our last day in the room we have been working in. For the past two days we have had a film crew hanging around and getting some footage to be used in what we are calling an Alternative Content Kit. The idea is that we will be using some of it for an EPK (Electronic Press Kit) but the majority of the footage will become "webisodes" for our site. It'll contain music, rehearsals of live performance, interviews & randomness. In other pertinent news we have put some songs up on The Panic Channel MySpace page. Go On, which is an exclusive online track for the fans, Why Cry, which is the song that Capitol wants to push, and Teahouse, which is the song we want to push. We decided that the best move for us would be to do the double single approach. The company is going to do what it's going to do and we appreciate that, but we also want to keep our online world personal and within our control. So we have what is to be our "radio" single and our "Internet" single out at the same time. We felt that this was the best move as you guys have been so supportive. You deserve something extra from the band than what is being made generally accessible. Get used to it. We will still run all of our own sites, doing SRL and updating throughout the tour. Tomorrow we move into the "Big Room" where I am praying there is a DSL connection so I can webcast some stuff.

Just Rockin' This Morning/Community Down!

Since I am going to be out for Camp Freddy Radio (Billy & Matt tonight), I have decided to go live on Spread Radio Live right now. (9:30am PST)

Hey all if you've tried to get into the Community, there is just an error screen. Sadly, it seems as if the Community is pretty sickly, and the outlook isn't good. We are working on it, but for the time being it's in the infirmary. We will get it back online as soon as possible.

You can log into the chat room by checking "guest" and entering a user name. The database that holds all your passwords was deleted along with the TPC community database.

Days Away From Open

Later THIS WEEK is the grand opening of the all new Shop 13, your one stop outlet for all things SRL and 6767. We will be taking pre-orders for all Spread Radio Live merchandise. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery on any and all items. This time frame will shorten as soon as we get our act together over here. We are simply waiting for our stock to come in. Once we are fully stocked, delivery shouldn't take more than a couple of days.

Also, I will be doing an impromptu Spread Radio Live this morning, as I have tons of meetings today and will not be able to get our regular show together this evening. Look for the AIM On Air message for when that is. Basically I just have to wait for the wife to wake up!

Update: We ran into some technical difficulties today. Shop 13 is taking just a little more time than we thought. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Heart/SRL Event

The Heart Decades show I participated in will air on May 5th on VH1 Classic at 8:00pm. Not only does Heart put on an amazing show, but there is an Alice In Chains reunion as well. Check it out!

More information on the Spread Radio Live show in LA: As it stands, the event will take place on June 17th at The Dragonfly in Los Angeles. Confirmed bands are Killola and KHZ. There is another act performing but due to their engagement at the Roxy on the 7th, I legally can't announce them as it is only 10 days later. (There is a 30 day contract about playing twice in the same month with some venues.) This is to be the first of many shows that will feature new bands and celebrate the home grown, underground of new entertainment. We are all taking it back! This is just a heads up as the official announcement hasn't taken place and tickets aren't available yet. I'll let you know when they are.

Film

Well, it seems my plan yesterday didn't go as planned. We did our shoot and it was good, however the editor wasn't so into me being naked! She was like, "Yeah, do some like that and then we should do some where you have pants on!" I think they really got worried when I tried to do my Silence of the Lambs tuck under and broke out a vibrator. Hahaha. I was like, "What? What's the big deal?" Either way, that idea won't be lost forever. I have a plan to do a whole "spread" that is just full of wrongness. The shoot ended up being fun and I think the final result will be fine. Someone asked if I like doing shoots. It depends on what it is and what it's for. If I am inspired, I am all about the work. If not inspired, I can barely keep my eyes open. Band shoots can be quite torturous. Four guys against a wall really isn't a whole lot of fun. The last TPC shoot, however, was awesome as it was our first and we made the best out of it. It's like, you have to be visible in the images and each guy has to be clear and unobstructed. Since we got our first, "here is what we look like" press style shoot out of the way, we are going to incorporate a little more variety in the future. Luckily, Steve Isaacs is great with fucking up images and what we ended up going with kind of has the best of both worlds. Clear images with a little grit and distressed sensibilities.

This is an odd request so I'll just throw it out there. Ever seen those amateur films where it's a hand held camera with a guy's voice in the background and he's talking to a girl on a couch or bed or something? You just hear him and see the girl he's talking to? Anyway, we are trying to make a template for a project and if anyone has a clip or a link to direct me to it would really be helpful. I am not so worried about the sex stuff as much as that underground home made look that is somewhat interview style.

(Wow! You guys are fast! Thanx, got it. No need to keep sending or suggesting links!)

OK. Off to rehearsals today... TTYL, DN
