Cannes 3
France ... done! A lot of hanging out and dining French style. I attended the Rockstar party and did my little 2 minute thing and the watched Mig perform with a couple of the House Band guys with Brooke and Mark Burnett. Here is a pretty cool thing that is very forward thinking and new for a series: We will be airing the reality portion of Rockstar on the Rockstar MSN site. No more, "But I don't have VH1!" As far as I know, we will be this first Network Television Series that will be streaming new, weekly and unseen content exclusively on the Internet. I am so happy to be working with a group of producers that get it. Also, the Rockstar site this season will be way more interactive. Uploads, downloads, chats, contests among other ideas. I had a long talk with the MSN guys last night and they are so psyched to make this a fun and unique experience for Internet Junkies like us. After I hit the gym this morning, I am going to Vegas for the Maxim Poker Event. Nice to London, London to LA, LA to Vegas. I am gonna be wrecked, son! Good thing I have my copy of The Dice Man. It's an awesome book I highly recommend if you have not read it. It'll make 16 hours in the air, feel like only 15. It's safe to say that tonight's SRL will not be taking place!
The Panic Channel tour is just about ready for the announcing. I think we just have to iron down a few more venues and then I'll list the shows here. We will be opening up The Panic Channel v2.0 site at the same time and are working towards making some digital downloads available, along with some extra "stuff" on the site. I am so into getting back out on the road. It has been since 2003 that I have been on an actual tour. The first leg of dates will take place between May and June, and will continue directly after the TV season with more US dates and then on to Europe. That is, the plan for the rest of this year for me.
Incidentally, the image I put up of Cannes in an earlier post is the exact view from my hotel window. I tried to take a picture of it but my DSL connection didn't reach to the window and I only have my iSight camera connected. Oh well, you get the idea. It's beautiful and all, but get me to the dazzling lights of Las Vegas!

Hi DN< Miss ya hun:) Have great new adventures. Thanks a lot for the updates and letting us know all the details. Happy Wed to you and the 67 family! Sounds great about that MSN site. I remember going on that MSN site a lot last summer while watching the Rock Star INXS show, so it should be great! Take care, Db
Posted by: Danni at April 4, 2006 09:50 PM
I have a neat idea for the show:
Last season when I looked at the ebay auctions from the show you only sold autographed items and stuff like that - you should have sold stuff like the g-string that someone threw to Marty or Suzie's "Queen of the bottom 3" hat, stuff like that... it would be really cool if you'd sell stuff like that on the auctions! :-)

Dave, I concur with concertdude, I hope you guys come to San Diego! I don't know if you got a chance to read my post from April 3, about how I was touched by your book (DTTAH). Specifically the paragraph about loss. I talked about the loss of my father and my son. The only reason I'm bringing this up again is because I want to thank JANE, JEZEBEL, SUE, and DANNI for their compassionate words of support. I was so surprised and happy to read their posts, I will cherish them always. Sorry Dave I know this isn't about me, but I didn't know how else to thank them. I also want to thank you DAVE for great music, making me laugh, and being a good example to others. Hopefully by watching you they will realize it's a lot more fun being sober. Be safe and happy, Linda

Yeah, drop those dates on us. I am ready for a road trip of my own, and this would be the perfect band to get me out to a few cities I haven't been to in awhile.

Morning D & Fam,
Everyone please take a moment to remember Layne and Kurt this morning...RIP.
Regarding Layne, Ann Wilson put it best, "He was luminous ... too tender for this world".
Love,
Sue

Oh well. I like it when you're busy...bored Dave is not a happy Dave. :(

"...bored Dave is not a happy Dave. :("
Yeah - but selfishly, an emotionally tortured Dave writes some incredible shit! Not that any of us want an emotionally tortured Dave (just some incredible music).
I never noticed that selfish has fish in it - is that like God spelled backwards is Dog? So many mysteries...

Question: So will the reality episode also be shown on TV in addition to streaming, or will it only be streamed to the web and the two performance shows will be on TV?

Manq here,
The new RHCP artwork for Stadium Arcadium has been released. You can pull it up on Wikipedia, maybe Amazon or All music too. Just the most shoddy looking thing I ever saw.
So bad maybe it's hip. But I don't think so. Looks more some kind of 70's cut out bin fodder. Not to mention a resemblance to Frehley's Comet artwork from the 80s. Just hideous.
For a band touting this 28 song monsterwork as their best work, you would think they would demand something remarkable to the eye.
Or is it just a decoy??
Thoughts?
Manq out

Whew... that's quite an agenda. I'm getting tired just reading it. LOL. Still, it's awesome. Have fun, Dave, and try to relax when you can. (I guess that's what the plane is for!)
And a VERY happy B-day Sue and Joe! Sending special love, hugs, and warm thoughts to both of you, as well as to Linda, the families of Kurt and Layne, and anyone else who needs them.
Looking forward to Tuesday night, NYC. God willing, it doesn't SNOW again like it is now... And looking forward to the TPC tour. These are exciting times indeed.
Love,

Hey, Dave
Cannes looks beautiful, indeed... ! Have fun...! :)
hey, I gotta thank you for recently telling us about your work out, all the cardio you do and stuff... I just recently started working out and your tips were great! I would also like to know about your menu, if possible. I do know you eat a lot of protein and avoid carbs like the plague, but could you please tell us what you eat on a typical day, starting with breakfast and so on?? I´d really like to know about that!
Thanks a lot...!
peace
SHANE.

Oh happy day! TPC in EUROPE, can't f'ing wait!!! You don't know how happy that has made me.
Can you actually play poker when jetlagged?
Posted by: tracey aka nb at April 6, 2006 08:27 AM
Dave, I appreciate how down-to-earth you are compared to a lot of other rockers out there. It's nice to know that you actually read the comments and post on this site. Carmen's always been a doll, too, in public.
I've been hearing rumors that Carmen is going to hook up with the people that produced The Pussycat Dolls album, and that she is going to record an album soon. Is this true?
I was sad to hear that you weren't taking Jimmy Iha's place in The Smashing Pumpkins.........but I do know that you are incredibly busy these days......
Posted by: Kristen at April 6, 2006 08:54 AM
Please, oh please, oh please come to North Carolina...I'll go anywhere in the state to see TPC live. Ziggy's in Winston, maybe? Flying Anvil in Greensboro? Being a music writer, I'll hook you up on the press side...

"Good morning everybody! Lyn... was that you i heard on 99X this morning?"
Yes, yes it was me! That's a trip you heard it. The discussion was about podcasts and ATL's largest "alternative" radio market wanted people to call in and tell about interesting ones they knew of. I called in and suggested that they check out Spread Radio Live, which they obviously aired live. That goober "Wally" said he "hates Dave Navarro". I was like "umm, Dave takes a bad rap, but he's a funny as hell guy and the show is great". I even got a shout out for Camp Freddy Radio too! Wally can be contacted at wally@99x.com :) I was pimping my boy!
Posted by: Lyn at April 6, 2006 09:50 AM
that's funny that you called because i was going to call and do the same thing i just didn't have my phone with me. great minds think alike! and wally is a pussy. lol

It's pretty cool that Dave shares his experiences here - we get a little vicarious rock star enjoyment/reality. Helps to put things in perspective.
Today's lesson:
Everyone enjoys seeing some beautiful Cannes.

Dave do you think Nashville will fit into the TPC's tour stops? The mercy lounge is a 500 or so venue that jane's played at back in the day and perry farrell span a DJ set there last february. i think the panic channel will definetly draw. hope to see you

Carmens on Serius right now...their sayin she lost a lot of weight and talkin about you and other men and how you are kinda femenine for her. Carmen says you fit in her pants, but its mainly people from the show who are takin bout you and the mascara and kissin the boys. Hope your gettin Serius. If I can call in Ill definatly mention that your a hell of a guy who seems secure about his sexuality. Thats really my impression of ya...I love Howard..you need to go on there and set him strait...promote the band...you got a good radio personality.
Hope alls good...you in New York? Howards admitting hes jealous, remember its all in good media interest to give the fans what they wanna hear. He seems curious about ya.
