Cannes 2
1. Should I be worried that TPC album seems to be taking ages before it graces my ears?
Not at all. As I mentioned before, we have our tour pretty much locked into place from May-June. This stuff takes time, but it won't be that much longer. As soon as the TPC site is launched, all will be revealed.
2. What project was Greg talking about in that letter to the journalist that you are writing/working on?
That... I am not at liberty to discuss at the moment. He may have gotten a little carried away with that one.
3. You said you are playing NYC. Where exactly? Or is this an outdoor event? Is it open to the public?
Camp Freddy is doing a couple of songs on the 11th in NYC, but I don't know the times or where exactly. I know we play the Hard Rock later that evening.
4. Dave-be honest, is Rockstar affecting the relationships in the Panic Channel?
Not at all. If anything, it has lit a fire under our asses to get out on tour before the show begins!
5. Dave, as you probably know the Chilis have released an old OHM song called Bob as a bonus track on the Internet. What can you tell us about this song? When was it done?
Bob is a song about our friend and Thelonious Monster singer, Bob Forrest. It was the first song we did together. Why it never came out I am not sure.

I love the fact that you respond to fan queries! Any chance you and your music would do some live dates across Canada?

Thanks for always responding to fan questions... I think it's great.
Any chance you and your music could tour across Canada?

Hey Dave, thanks for taking time after what must have been an exhausting flight, to stop and answer questions!! I think it's great that they tapped Mig to showcase the Rockstar House Band for the good folks at Cannes. Any chance you can put some pics in your next post, hopefully of you and the lovely Brooke, taking in the sights?
Have fun! I'd love to hear the first European broadcast of SRL, please?
love,
jezzi(what about Bob?)

Dave,
I am kinda freaking out. I auditioned for Rock Star at the knitting factory on friday. The web site said to be creative & I got an email saying to do 2 originals & 1 cover so I thought you guys wanted to hear originals so I sang one. Now I read on your blog that we were supposed to do covers. I am so confused. I could have easily done a cover. What is the deal? Can you let me know. lifetimephoto@adelphia.net

DAVE!
Wondered what you thought about the new RHCP track "Dani California"? Have you heard it, and what is your opinion of their latest sound?

I auditioned at the Knitting factory last Friday. I covered Long Train Running! Had them all rocking out! You passed right by me on your way out of the audition room, just prior to my entry to the audition! You looked busy, and didn't seem to want talk to any of us. Totally understand why! I was amazed at all the original stuff too! You guys must have been bored to tears. For those of us who auditioned, can you tell us when callbacks took, or are taking place?

Dave, I like the paragraph on page twelve in your book (DTTAH) where you describe someone asking you how they could relate to your loss. I especially like the sentence "The creative process of moving through the experience of loss, and learning from such experiences, is where the gratitude for life and all experiences comes from." I just lost my son six months ago, he died from an overdose of prescription drugs. He was 34, only a few years younger than you. I feel dead inside, we talked everyday, I miss him so much! I do understand the pain! I also lost my dad two years ago, he committed suicide. Congratulations on being sober and alive. Amazingly I'm still sober too. Stay well.

Oh Linda Im so sorry for your loss I know hearing people say that, in it self probably makes you mad, I hated hearing ,Oh hes in a better place, I lost my favorite cousin because he killed himself, He was so sad that he actually hung himself and if he would have wanted to he could have just stood up (door knob) makes it even sader thats how sad he was . It all started because his son killed himself and left a note saying I did this because of you dad. Man the really sad thing is this guy went around talking to kids about suic. and they listened to him about how awefull it was and how it left guilt and then for them to hear he died from the same thing Wow all the feelings your going thru from a mothers love to deep anger at him And at that you feel angry at yourself for being mad at him for leaving you to deal with all this, and then your Father too , Poor honey I can relate what its like to lose 2 of the most important people in your life so closely. There is nuthing I can say to help but I felt compelled to tell you that you cant feel like there is anything you could of done to stop this . I was so mad at myself because I saw the writting on the wall and like I didnt do enough to help him, Please dont do the same thing to yourself Im not trying to compare my loss to yours a mothers love is something only a mom or dad could feel and as hard as I ache for my cuz It just cant compare . But what I can say is that it will do things to your fam, dont let it turn your heart or make you hate the others in your circle, It destroyed his fam when his son did it and paved the way for him, I know others reading this will say, thats stupid why would anyone do that, But it does make you second guess every move you made and every member involved I know what something like this can do to a person, Please dont let this be something that cripples your ability to grow as a human and stops your ability to become what God made you to be , Your son and father would take all of it back if he knew how many people it has scarred and if he knew how much pain your carrying now. I dont know you and you dont know me and this sounds real weird but let others carry some of your pain and if it doesnt offend anyone I'd love to say a quick prayer. Father God creater of this world we live in ,Please help Linda in this time Help carry her pain father,Help her to make peace with this time and to grow, father dont let this beat her down but if something positive can come from this awefull thing then lift her and use her to touch others that are feeling or going thru what shes feelin, God kiss her on her forehead and kiss her soul and help this nice lady to deal with something you felt when her and your child passed in such a final and un fitting way, lift her up and make some sence of this and show the world what a special man he was, hold her tight father Amen. Sorry Linda I hope in saying that I didnt offend you and I'll carry some of that pain with you cuz I understand . I hope you find a moments peace in you heart , Cuz I know a min. of rest feels like a lifetime as the pain feels like forever too. As a fellow human and a Navarro addict I wanna tell you I love you take good care of yourself and the ones around you, Dont let this destroy you,Find a way to make this moment or lifetime of pain make you shine the love that you have for your lost love ones and take the love you have for them and spread it to others that hurt as you do hold on to the ones you have left and kiss them extra hard. Take the love you have for your son and pa and spread it to others that need it and you'll shine like Gods diamond that you are. much love Janes

hey dave, i hope the trip is going well!
i subscribed to CFR podcast and some have SRL in the title but i've yet to hear any SRL casts so i was wondering if you had any plans to podcast SRL? i know the older shows kinda loop when you're not on live but i'd love to have podcasts to listen to other places. like last night i was in the bath and i was thinking "you know if SRL podcasted i could put one on the pod, pop in the speakers (of course have it far from the water) and i could be listening to dave right now." a webcam like on camp freddy would rock on SRL too, even if it was just sometimes.
also does someone look after your myspace while you're gone? i requested you as a friend on thrusday night and i'm patiently waiting to have your hot self in my top 8. i'm still waiting on greggy too!! anyway i know you're both busy as hell, just wouldn't want to get lost on a mile long list of people waiting. if ya get bored check it out, it's skinned in you and SRL. http://www.myspace.com/hotcanadiantaco
much much love, you're awesome and stay safe travelling!!!
ps thanks for mooning the camera on CFR saturday night. ;)

"but who the hell told Gina Gershon she could sing?"
does Bob Dylan ring a bell... Not the best voice by far... But they both enjoy it which counts... and btw, no one has to listen to what they don't want...

Hi D & Fam,
Dave, hope you’re having a good time at the Festival…just listened to CFR podcast, thanks for that—it makes the work day go better.
So, what do you think about NIN touring w/Bauhaus? I am completely psyched for this, I have tickets for back to back nights in June and can’t wait—it’s gonna be AMAZING! You’ve said many times that you were really influenced by Daniel Ash, any plans to catch a show? (FYI, they’ll be in California July 7 & 8.)
Safe trip from Cannes to Vegas to NY and home!
Love,
Sue

oh, Linda, I just read back up, I am so sorry for your loss. I know words can't really comfort you, but I am sure that everyone here wishes they could add some small measure of comfort, as do I.

Hi Dave - You were right in front of me going through security at the LA airport on Sunday. I was very disappointed that you wouldn't stop to pose for a picture when I asked. Very disappointed.
Posted by: Di at April 4, 2006 11:28 AM
Hey Di,
Going through airport security isn't really the best time for that.
If circumstances were different, it might've been closer to what you may have wanted.
Posted by: Loop at April 4, 2006 01:10 PM
Dave, more on that Bob song.
Are there any other songs you did with the peppers that never got released? If so, why didn't they get released/can you share them now?
I personally think Melancholy Mechanics and Bob are your 2 best songs under RHCP... and neither made it onto One Hot Minute. Weird, huh?

Linda, very sorry for you loss. We are all embracing you. God Bless.

Dave, have you managed to get your hands on the new David Gilmour album yet? I would highly recommend it. There's a man who really knows how to write a solo.
