Toronto
Well, that was an awesome trip. The event was a lot of fun and Bob and I had a great time catching up. After the awards ceremony I did a "Live From Toronto" edition of Spread Radio Live from my hotel room. I even got Bob Ezrin himself to stop by and do a quick interview as promised. My co-host was Larissa, my friend and manager, all the way from LA via speakerphone. So far, BeE has done two shows this week and I have done two. By the time Messy gets cooking, we should be able to bring you live shows everyday of the week, followed by archived rebroadcasts. Tomorrow night is an all new CFR on Indie. Don't forget to tune in!
As for Rockstar, there is a new plan in place, but I cannot address it until the press release comes out this weekend. I can tell you this, it's not what you would expect. It's not Van Halen. It's not Queen. It's not Journey. In fact, all I will say is that you have never heard of this band before. Should be a fun summer.

Cool--an unknown kinda band--I think that would be cool--That way ppl can be more open instead of thinking about "filling someones shoes" so to speak. Just as long as it's Rock N' Roll! Well dah..Rockstar.. ;)

So many questions to ask & you haven't been giving too many answers lately. 1st Have you heard & if so,what do you think of the Lovehammers CD? 2nd When can I expect a Panic Channel CD in a store near me? 3rd Of a personal note A little word association... When I say Jeff Beck what comes to mind for you? Finally What is the word on the next Rockstar, who is the band or at the very least when can we expect an announcement on the matter?

Sorry I was in such a state of awe that no one else had posted yet that I never read your entire post. So you can disregard my question about Rockstar. and if you wish you can elaborate on my Jeff Beck question. I try to get quotes from great musicians on him.

The suspense is kill'n me baby!!! Glad your trip to toronto was a sweet one. How cold was it there and how do you handle it in comparison to your native surroundings?
Spread Radio is the best radio ever. I used to boycott the radio for years and about a year ago I started listening to live 105 here in Frisco. I'm a little over it now the commercials totally kill me and the censorship is a form of mind controll as far as I'm concerned and then we get to hear you break it down for us and talk your illustrious shit...I fuck'n luv it!!! Dave...I love it when you say "Rad." It takes me back to my days of youth when everything was Rad and the cute skaterboys punk'n out were rad!!! I love hearing you say it cause it's a phrase you rarely hear anymore that is pretty much synonomous to california natives but has been lost by cultural defimation by migration of the transplant!!! Long live the Native...We are a dying breed!!!
Anyhow, have a great one!!!
Kisses~

never heard of the band before?
i say it's a supergroup.
we've probably heard of the members, but they don't have a band name yet.

God, I wish I could quit you.

I've just come up with a very good reason why cds win on that age old question about hard copy versus download - when your telephone company totally and utterly bomb your machine by putting in bits of equipment connected to your router to do stuff that you really didn't want to do in the first place they will cause you to somehow lose your iTunes library (amongst other stuff) - including all the music that you downloaded and hadn't backed up because the file was so damn big - and then you can't get any of it back because you can only download it once!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
On the bright side I can probably make Tina jealous by letting her know that Jeff Beck lives just down the road and see him around all the time *grin*
Hmmm - Rockstar looks interesting .... all theories blown out of the water then!

i figured it wouldn't be Journey, they're playing at the Monsters of Rock Fest in England this summer.
I have tickets already cos Alice Cooper is headling, and so's Deep Purple.
Miffy, can I visit? :D Drop by Jeff Beck's.
I've got the Hawkins bros from the Darkness nearby.
So you can visit me, and we'll drop by their place too. lol. yeah sure. they're on tour.

headling?! what the feck is headling?!!! i love mistakes.

I'm guessing that rockstar will be searching for a whole band ie. drummer, bassist, guitarist aswell as just a singer.
Am I close Dave?

Lisa honey - you are welcome to the sofa bed any time you like. In fact, not sure how far you are from Milton Keynes but if I'm nearer for Monsters of Rock you are welcome to have a bed for the night - I can't make it because it's my mum and dad's 40th wedding anniversary that weekend but I will be here. If you need to locate me to check - I'm not far from all the places that are absolutely swarming with police at the moment! I live in a VERY secure area right now! lol

Is it just me or is the Spread Radio Live loop not playing? That happened to me on two different computers

"Miffy, can I visit? :D Drop by Jeff Beck's."
Forgot to mention - when we have finished tea at Jeff Beck's do you want to pop round to Roger's? (Daltrey - he lives 5 mins away) I played at his house when I was a kid 'cos I was good friends with his niece but not sure if he would remember me now - worth a try don't you think?
Then we could go to Sir Paul McCartney's as well - although his house was up for sale so not sure if he has moved.
I'm telling ya - you can't move round here for bumping into bloomin' celebs!

Well, now, that is interesting about Rockstar. I will give you this - I don't care WHO the band is, but if you are on it, I will not only be taping it, you will have to get a crowbar to pull me away from the screen.....
That is so cool about Toronto - one of my favorite places to visit. Heck, I could have driven there and said hello!
Always,
me

Interesting that they are putting a twist on Rockstar. I thought it would be cool if they tried to find a singer for The House Band because those guys f***ing ROCK!!

Miffy i am sorry about your internet thing. it is kind of cool that you do get to see "celebs" though.
Dave- i agree with the 'i don't care who it is' theory...i only wished that i had taped rock star season 1 because it kicked ass and i would have like to have the whole thing available to watch not just bits and pieces...i don't care who is on the show..i will be watching to steal a glance or several at you!
what has happened to sweet suzy mcneil? i would buy her cd..if she would make one..has she made one? i did buy marty's and i really like it..but he was my favorite. i haven't bought the new inxs cd anyone know if it was good? i like jd's pretty vegas song but i heard they toned it down.

Heather I heard it a week ago while up in Eugene...it was good...not great but pretty good I'd say. I only listened to it once thru and not all the way at that, so Im sure some of it would grow on me if I gave it another listen or two. :) A friend of mine just bought it so Im sure I'll get another chance to hear it now.
Dave or anyone...when does this VH1 Decades show air on tv?? I've gotta be setting my Tivo right away! lol
Hope everyone is having a good friday...Im off to finish my paper on the Greek tragedies! :?
Love,
Amber

Sweet Suzie is in the studio now. Working with John Kalodner and Marti Frederiksen. Not sure about a release date but her website suziemcneil.com should have the latest.
She also appears on the INXS album singing a duet call "God's Top Ten"

Dave...Went to The Cult last night at The Joint. Your buddy Billy Duffy kicked ass. It was nice seeing Duffy taking charge. Ian looked as though he was just going through the motions. Over all a great show. A couple great shows coming to sincity. NIN April 1 and ZOMBIE April 22. This town rules!

Yo Dave,
Heading to Miami today for work and taking wife for a mini-vaca. too. Any advice on good hangouts (ex., eats, clubs, etc.)
Hearing from your past travels, it sounds like you always have some faves set aside. If you get a free second during a coffee sip, please mention any. Tx, Al (Detroit)
PS: My bet is w/ Six7Six7 and the forming of a superband..
