Sunday SRL
Hey people, sorry about the CFR cancellation last night, I have been getting over a pretty gnarly cold. All I have done over the past few days is lay in bed and watch a lot of TV and movies. Here are some quick reviews as I honestly have nothing else to talk about:
The Shield: Season 4 - Yes, I watched an entire season yesterday. As always, The Shield pretty much rules.
Into The Blue: Although the under water photography was really amazing and beautiful, they should have called this one, "Into The Awful".
Today is all about The Film Is Not Yet Rated, a documentary about the ratings system in Hollywood. I interviewed the film makers on Indie from Sundance and this film sounds really compelling and scandalous. I'll fill you in after I have seen it.
Also, I know there have been questions about the Podcasts. They will be back, but setting up all of the SRL Indie stuff has been a huge undertaking and required a lot of time and energy on Loop's part. Now that we are all set up, things will more than likely go back to normal around here. Thanx for your patience. In fact, let me take this moment to thank Robert and Chase for their tireless dedication to the site and what we are trying to do with it.
Sick at home + nothing to do = Spread Radio Live for a few hours on Sunday afternoon! 2:00pm PST

Boil fresh ginger and add honey and lemon. Great for a cold and tastes rather good as well.
And on a side note, (for the 2nd time) I watched "Underworld" on TBS and thought you would have been wonderfully cast as Kraven. I saw Underworld: Evolution and enjoyed them both immensely. Both for the special fx as well as the continuum storyline.
I'm hoping for a "Underworld 3" with Celine and Michael continuing on.

This is a pretty big post for some one who doesn't really have anything to talk about!
Let's give 'em somethin' to talk about! Talk about...Killola!
Seriously, thanks for helping me find them Dave! I am so diggin' S.R.L., Get well soon!

We (the fans) should be thankful for Robert and Chase's work that provides us with ... all that... Um, yeah...
Now it's sleepy time for me, 1:30 a.m. I love Nick Cave at this time of day (beginning today).
Buh-bye.

Sorry for this silly comment, but I was wondering, what is the difference between CFR and SRL? Are there 2 different ways to access these shows, or are they one and the same. Thanks!
Posted by: Winnie at February 12, 2006 10:38 PM
Can't wait for the next CFR.

Ahhhhhh Dave
I think I've caught your cold. But there'll be no laying around in bed watching TV for me. I have to start getting ready for work in a couple of hours. So, are you gonna share some of that chicken soup?
Spreading the germs,

I walked out of Into the Blue in the theatre (haha I saw it in the theatre). It was SO bad. You know something is bad if even Jessicsa Alba's ass and hot Paul Walker can't make it watchable.
Anyways feel better. Be glad you just left ny...I flew in Saturday from LA and there was 26 inches of snow! Aahhhhh!
Posted by: amy at February 13, 2006 03:31 AM
Goodmorning, Dave!
How's the cold?
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day? Anything special going on for you and Carmen?
My boy, Andre, is 10 tomorrow!!! He's my lonely only - but what a great Valentine's gift he was/is!
Always,
me

Hey Dave get better soon!
...and whilst you have nothing to do, here are a couple of things to think about
1. How good it would be for TPC to support Chilis in the UK in July
2. How good it would be to come to the UK to play at the Download Festival and reach a lot of potential fans that might otherwise never get to hear your music!!!
A girl can live in hope, can't she :)

"Sorry for this silly comment, but I was wondering, what is the difference between CFR and SRL? Are there 2 different ways to access these shows, or are they one and the same. Thanks!"
For Winnie:
CFR = Camp Freddy Radio. Dave and Billy and guests do this once a week on Saturdays. They broadcast live on on Indie 103.1 from 6-8 PM Pacific Time. (See Indie 103 link for more info.)
SRL = Spread Radio Live. Dave doing his own radio thing live and uncensored, usually from his own home. Greg is usually there, sometimes Carmen is too. It takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, or whenever else Dave feels like it. (See Spread Radio Live for all the gory details.)
Hope that helps. I'm sure some of the other folks here can fill in anything I may have left out. :)
Get well soon, Dave. Just keep following the "5-T" rule:
-Time
-Tea
-Take it easy
-TV
-Tomato sauce (lots of antioxidants and enzymes and all that good sh**)
I actually just made that rule up, but it does work!
Peace and love to all,

Denise, that's interesting about Tomato sauce. I like the 5T rule! I just had a bad cold, and I was eating a lot of tomato soup. I just was craving it. I guess that was a good thing.

Lisa - My tomato sauce/soup theory comes from eating Italian food at least 3-4x a week, and hardly ever being sick for very long. (Knock on wood.) Spicy food helps too. Clears the old sinuses.
For Dave and anyone else under the weather, get well soon! Enjoy the day.
Love,

So, I'm sitting here listening to CFR from Jan 17th... all talk, no music.... not that the all talk factor is a bad thing, but I always like the tracks that get played..... Is it this computer, or a different way of presenting the show online?

Hey Sexies~
Happy VD!!!
Kisses~

Just read that Camp Freddy might be the band looking for a singer in the next season of RockStar. Us unicorns would dig it, but I doubt it would get the ratings like inxs or that Queen or Van Halen would. Though the super group aspect would be very cool - but mostly if they actually played every week (instead of "The House Band" - which were great, but they ain't no Camp Freddy)...
Set us straight Dave!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Heather. I'll e-mail some chicken soup to you. Maybe if Dave's nice, I'll send him some also.
Sick sucks,
LostBoy :-(
I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day !!!

Morning D & Fam,
Hope all had a nice Valentine’s Day, and hope all of you sick puppies feel better soon. Right now, I am listening to TNO, I love that album!!
INXS rocked the house, they were great. Marty and the Lovehammers were good too, but I guess I had a little misconception about his music, expected it to be more grunge, less emo. He really did lots of his “scary conductor thing!
Anyone know what happened to Itanja? I emailed her but it came back...
Have a great week,
Love,
Sue

Hey Dave, if you're still sick and bored, here's a question for your next 10:
What do you think of Trent's opinion of the Grammys...
"The Grammys make me hate music, and certainly everyone in the ass-licking music industry. " ~TR
Agree/Disagree? Or a little of both?
S
Posted by: Sue at February 15, 2006 10:00 AM
He further elaborated in the Spiral chat to a question asking what he thinks of the press saying he's out of line:
"The Grammys suck, plain and simple - and here's why. They present themselves as being about artistic merit, but they are nothing more than a popularity contest - like the entire rest of the music industry. Don't get me started on this right now."

Found out today that this girl Im in love with has contracted Hep C. Ive feared this for a while and now that its reality I want to give the best advice I can. She cant overcome her addiction thus far, and I know to have hope but so many addicts with Hep C fear Interferon because of the pain and equate it with dope sickness. Ive heard homeopathic medications can really work effectively. Anyone have a thought or advice? Is there a cure for the rich that noone is aware of? Dave, did you contract this from IV use? I am fortunate to have my health after all the "spikes and questionmarks" of my past. Im doing somemore research....so many addicts contract this disease it touches home? If you have any advice/information/websites, Ill be looking to see if anyone replys. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY AFTER!!!!
