No SRL Tonight :(
Hey now! Well, it looks like tonight's SRL will not take place as we (The Panic Channel) are mixing and Gregg and Carmen are working late tonight once again on the set of Joey. We will be back for sure next Tuesday night. Robert and I are currently updating the SRL page and we will have more info on the station's progress later today. I might do a quick little hour of music later and will of course let you know if this is happening. So, I watched Lost last night and I gotta tell you, I'm kind of getting over it. After being left with the "Dad?" cliffhanger almost a month ago, I was all set to learn what kind of amazing developments would ensue. Of course, we are nowhere regarding that matter. Evidently, wherever Walt is, he has am AIM program and is able to chat with Michael in the hatch. Who knows? Maybe he is also downloading music and surfing some soft core sites too. He's probably on MySpace too, placing "Thanx for the add!" comments with large picture files attached on everybody's sites. You know, they should have done that actually! That would have been rad. If there was a Walt profile and he was hitting everyone looking for Michael. With the new season of The Shield and the new 24, I might have to finally bow out of the whole Lost phenomenon.
Oh yeah, how funny is it that the story at Rokbar got picked up by so many press outlets? It's nice to know that what goes on here gets read by Page Six! I should come up with some outlandish story and see if it makes the news elsewhere. Talk about my alien abduction or that time at Loch Ness.

Thanks for update on the going-ons with the record...

The Shield is a great show. Michael Chiklis is great too, remember The Commish? I liked that show! Plus, any TV with a commercial featuring Hurt (Cash version, even) has to be good.
Guess we'd better watch what we write on here, we could ruin our reputation, huh? I can see it now, all our friends and families outside of 67'ers will find out what we're REALLY like...
Have a great day all...
Love,
Sue

Sorry to hear there won't be a full S.R.L. tonight, but the cancelation's for a good cause.
Be sure to let us all know when it's T.P.C. time!

I have to say, that Dave you know that if you write/say anything, regardless of what the context is about...someone somewhere is gonna write about it and make a mountain out of a mole hill. I for one thought your story was interesting and an OMG moment...naturally I'm sure that it gotten to the point that someone got shot in "their story". Drama drama drama...seems to be what keeps us moving on. However, thanks for sharing your personal encounter (as unpleasant as it was I'm sure) so that we would know the TRUTH.
BTW, I've gotta ask...you mentioned that ya got an adrenaline rush...ok, did that incident make ya feel young again, OR make ya go, wait a second..I'm too old for this shit? NO OFFENSE is intended for those that will prob reword this stating that I said you were old ;-) Nothing but love for ya Dave.
Love to ya'll!!!

Hey Dave
I really miss the songs from the CFR podcast. Is there any way to get them back? I was also thinking if you guys could do a playlist on the site, or maybe ITunes? Or you could run a show on SRL w/ just the songs from CFR the week before?
Peace.

Hey Dave, how about getting Trent as a guest on CFR before he goes off on tour?
Posted by: Soph-Deux at January 12, 2006 12:45 PM
I am about as far in my life from the music biz as one could get, so pardon my ignorance, but what exactly does mixing an album entail? I have some assumptions, but you know what they say about making assumptions. :)

hey dave, do you still dislike the music of the stones?

Want to really get the press going...
Form the greatest Rock N Roll band of all time. Its got Weiland on vocals and Tommy Lee on drums. And on bass... I don't know. I was thinking image when I came up with the idea, but musically I think it would work pretty well too. So whos going to play bass, and when will this take place?
Thanks, Zotis

Zotis...
I'm not sure, but I hear he's in The Panic Channel and that he does performances with Camp Freddy...

I anally probed once but I think the guy was just wearing an alien outfit. It was horrible. Nightmarish. But I got his number and sent him flowers.

in USA people dont use MSN Messenger? its better! try it...
Posted by: Marivic at January 12, 2006 03:47 PM
even though Lost was pretty whack last night as far as the Walt stuff, I thought the story about mr Eko Was interesting, AND...next week Michael is going to go looking for Walt so you should give it at least 1 more week. And while The Shield is the bomb, there is like an 89% chance of 24 being really lame. Do you watch Project Runway? Anyways, v. funny on Walt having a Myspace.
Posted by: nexttopmess at January 12, 2006 04:32 PM
Well that would be intresting to see how long it would take if u put up a made up story lol..Stuff does get around u know..Good luck to u and have a nice day. And thanks for sharing your story with us..I wonder if that guy was a pro wrestler or basketball player being that tall sheesh..Have a magical day..

I know it's a bit petty really, but the last episode of season 1 of Lost was only shown in the UK this week, any chance you could warn us of any spoilers!

Hi Dave,
Love SRL, but am in England so I don't get to hear it live and don't usually know what show im listening to in the archive :-( It would be great if you did something like putting the dates in the playlist next to the talking bits eg. Dave & Gregg 01/10/06. That way we'd always know !
Peace out...

dave,
did you know there is a band in england called "oceansize" they're getting quite big. have you heard em?
Posted by: joe at January 13, 2006 02:57 AM
Joe, Are oceansize doing well? Hadn't heard the name in a couple of years and your post took me back! Big mates with the Cooper Temple Clause if I remember correctly? Liked what I'd heard of them.

Good to hear things are progressing with TPC.
Keep up the good work - can't wait to hear it

Morning D & Fam,
It’s SO FOGGY here! Awesome 40 minute ride to work in it. I was listening to the Left disc from The Fragile, it was the perfect soundtrack. Creepy dense fog, barren trees and some pine trees, and the Fragile. Highly recommended.
Speaking of NIN, I got shut out of the Atlantic City Spiral presale! :( Amber, did you jinx me? j/k. And I can’t get them in the general onsale Saturday, I am going to be traveling. But I have faith in fate and the concert gods, they’ve never let me down before. (anyone have 4 extra NIN tix? :)
And I had the strangest dream last night—the Grim Reaper was coming for me, except instead of the usual creepy hooded guy with a scythe, it was a little blonde five year old girl. She kept telling me, “It won’t hurt, just let me touch your arm, you won’t feel a thing and then you’ll be on the otherside. I was arguing with her that I didn’t want to do that, if I did, could I go back if I didn't like it? OK, other than insanity, anyone know what that means?
Anyway, have a Romy and Michelle Day, everyone!
Love,
Sue

Sue--Im sorry!! I can't believe you cant get spiral tix! :( I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to get tickets through the regular means.
Hope everyone has a great day. Can't wait to hear how the mixing went!!
Love, Amber

Happy Friday the 13th Family!
As an added bonus...we will be getting some rain today and, I believe, a full moon too!!! :D
Posted by: Cori at January 13, 2006 08:24 AM
Hi Everyone,
Sue, I was in that same thick fog this morning, though the LIE's not quite as scenic! Sorry to hear about your tix situation, hope that works out. As for the dream, maybe it means that death is not always terrifying; sometimes it's peaceful and a natural part of life. Maybe. I don't know. (In any event, I'd stay away from blonde little girls today if I were you! lol)
Dealing with lots of life/death stuff myself this week. Makes it tough to care about work, but alas, that's what I must do...
Take it easy, all.
Peace and love,

Dave - Amen to the Lost thing, at some point it needs to go somewhere.
Kiefer Sutherland was on Letterman last night, followed by some other writer, whom I can't remember. The other guy said he was filming a scene on the side of the road where these guys were attacking someone. Kiefer stopped his car and ole' Jack Bauer got out ready to kick some ass. I think he felt like a Donkey when he realized it was a movie. Great thing is, there was traffic and he was the only one to stop. They caught it - partially- on film.
24 is starting with 2, 2-hour shows. Kick ass.

Dave, in the March 2006 issue of guitar world (Randy Rhoads on the cover, R.I.P.) there is an article about you never wearing a shirt. It says that the Chili Peppers have a clause in their contract that former members may never wear a shirt again. It says you have been shirtless since 1998, and shows a really funny cartoon drawing of you that looks pretty much like you. Just to let you know. Check it out.

the full moon is actually tomorrow, the 14th. which means that for me, i will have to deal with the extra crazies coming off the friday the 13th craze...has anyone ever noticed how the full moon and friday the 13th brings out the crazy in people?
i got my shirt today...the 'my imaginary friend thinks you have mental problems' shirt, i am going to wear it tomorrow..i find it fitting. i also picked up Dave's book. I cannot wait to read it!
lostboy, what are your plans for friday the 13th?
Posted by: Heather at January 13, 2006 06:34 PM
Heather
For the 13th. I went out on a really bad date, with the most annoying woman I've ever met.
Tonight I plan on sitting back and howling at the moon. Would you care to join in? I promise you'll have fun.
Tuning vocal cords,
LostBoy
