Well, Here's Five
1. Why no "Three Days" on the Strays tour?
Actually, we played Three Days every night on that tour.
2. Why did Chad split on Spread?
Well, by the time I got around to getting that project finished, Chad was needed back in the Chili Peppers, not to mention, I was going through some tough times with the drugs. I don't think of it as splitting as much as I think of him just doing the best thing for him at the time. I was pretty unreasonable back then.
3. Your legacy: Do you ever think about how you'll be remembered?
Not really. To be honest, I just keep moving forward and do the things that I find to be fun, interesting or challenging. I'm not in this life to be remembered, I'm in it to enjoy it and to live it to the fullest.
4. I think TPC album is coming in May... When is the TPC website launching? First single release?
Well, Steve has been working hard on the TPC website and I must say it's looking incredible. As for it's launch, that's hard for me to say, it's more of a Steve question. I really won't have any more information about the single release until the New Year, as the business is pretty shut down for the holidays. I know that we do plan on releasing a single via the Internet before the "radio" release through Capitol.
5. Have you embarked on the dreaded Christmas Shopping yet?
Ummmmm, no. We are gonna try to hit it tomorrow, all in one shot.

Second isn't SO bad is it? As for questions, I am trying to get fit, what is your motivation for staying so slim, and do you do a low=carb diet? Thanks for everything DN< Love ya, Db

Oi Dave, I saw you at the Apollo in Manchester, Nov 2nd 2003, and although twas the best gig ever, you didnt play 'Three Days', which I was a bit gutted about. If I have the wrong tour, then my apologies. If not, then I have to call you a muppet. While Im here, any chances of TPC playing the UK?
Posted by: Lord White at December 21, 2005 11:57 AM
GOOD answer to the "how do you wish to be remembered" question. :)
I second the question about how you stay so fit. I am also struggling to loose weight and would love to know what it is you do to stay looking so good! I've heard you say that you diet 6 days a week and eat whatever on the 7th...but what does "diet" mean...what do you eat those 6 days??
Love you Dave and everyone!! Have a great rest of your day.

QUESTION:
Dave, do you ever get apathetic?
Posted by: Nik at December 21, 2005 12:36 PM
Another quick question-you said you play board games? What are your faves? That is the BEST thing about Thanksgiving and Christmas, is my family loves board games? Played the new Scene it for music? We played Scene it for movies, maybe Carmen can get you that, you would be GREAT at it;) Thanks for caring DN> Love ya,Db

Dave- you mentioned once, I believe to a caller on CFR or SRL, that you were planning on putting the Spread & Rhimorse stuff up in STore 13. Any timetable for this?
Good luck shopping- it's a battle zone out there.

Hope you're having a good holiday..
Merry Christmas!

Hi.
Dave, on your left forearm next to the card suits I noticed a tattoo of yours that I've never seen before. What does it say? Also, do you have have your tat's touched up, or do you just let them fade away?

Dave,
What is an appropriate amount for a donation to Tits For Tots? P.S. Say hello to Carmen for me.

Hey Dave,
I just went to the SRL site, and it said "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by the Stone Temple Pilots was playing. Just to let you know, STP never covered the song, that is in fact Def Leppard live. ;-)

So, Carmen was doing press on Fox & Friends Fox News yesterday (12/20/05) - according to Carmen, our main man Dave cried at the end of Cheaper By the Dozen 2... Dave, tell us the truth, is it really that touching of a movie?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Singapore!
Thanks for bringin back the 10 questions Dave. Ive missed them.

Dave, couple questions. When you hooked up with RHCP did you have most of the tunes down already or was there a scramble to learn a lot of the old stuff before you played with them live? Also, I understand Cantrell is on the mend from some guitar-induced shoulder sugery. Repetetive stress maybe? Wishing him a speedy recovery. All the guitar playing ever catch up to your joints or do you just avoid the Townsend windmills? Of course all your gym work probably helps a ton. Thanks for SRL and everything else bro, you're good people. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Hey Dave, I'm very sorry to hear about Carmen, I've posted the link below (just read the title of the story). I hope she can get through it ok and over come what reads to be a very traumatic time...Haha, the media obviously loves this story, everyday it seems to get more heart-wrenching when another journalist puts their 'spin' on it...

^ i think that's awesome. so many people try too hard to make something of themselves, to 'leave a legacy' that they don't even notice the amazing things going on around them everyday. i'm glad you're not somebody who takes advantage of that.

First of All Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays..happy whatever everyone celebrates here. I just hope it's all good for you all!!
Dave, since finding out that Carmen is a crafty person, does she buy you something for the holidays or does she make you something instead?
A few of us that come here are crafters too, so we are happy that she's the crafty sort. If I have time, I make things for others. I also prefer the handmade gifts.
I hope it's all good folks and that Santa is good to you!

I'm having a crafty Christmas this year - made and hand decorated tribal-patterned photo frames, key rings, jewellery, mirrors, and loadsa other stuff!
I'm even making my outfit for my works Christmas party this evening (coz I'm too poor to buy one!) but have yet to find a date - I have less that 7 hours! Wish me luck!

hey dave any chance that you will do any more gigs with or guest star for the red hot chili peppers? I lova tha guitar work on 'one hot minute'. one of my fave albums, especially the track coffee shop.
Posted by: ausfan at December 22, 2005 04:25 AM
Dave,
Like with the Manchester comment near the top, I saw you guys in the UK late 2003 touring Strays (Nottingham gig) and I am soooooooo positive you didn't give us 3 Days.
Other than that glaring omission, you guys killed, by the way.
Thanks for the answers and I still wanna know your thoughts on plugged/unplugged versions of Just Because....

Apologies to everyone I offended yesterday with my use of the word "appropriate" by the way

Dave!
LONG ASS TIME since I've posted. I've been soaking it in for a while. Couple of questions though:
1. With your respective careers, it seems with the money you both make, you and Carmen could get anything you want for yourselves. What is it like trying to buy something for each other for X-mas? I would think it would be difficult to find something interesting or exciting...
2. Totally unrelated to #1 I know you and Carmen both have been guests and listeners of the Howard Stern show in the past. Did either of you buy a Sirius receiver, or do you plan to? Do either of you plan to appear on his new show?
Posted by: aj at December 22, 2005 06:08 AM
Hey I'm pretty positive you didnt play 3 Days when I saw you in dec 03, but you did play then she did, so its all good. But i am too wondering if you could ever see yourself guest starring on any Red hot hcili peppers things ever. i'm also wondering when you and Eric A. are going to ever hit up the studio again because i think Deconstruction is the best thing you ever did.

**Question**
What are you guys doing for New Year's Eve?
Hey, my friend just got me a really cool game for Christmas called "Riff", music trivia DVD game from Hard Rock, I am going to KICK ASS!
Love to all,

HAPPY HANAQUANZACHRISMAS!!!!!
I ring in the holidays annually with Johnny Cash, this year I think "Walk the Line" may be watched over the holidays but thats not the same as eggnog, smiles n rings of fire. Ive always consider him Christmas music. So my holiday question DAVE is what do you think of his version of "Hurt". Its sad some people dont know its a NIN song! Has Trent ever mentioned it, I would bet he is honored.
Hope to hear your thoughts!! May everyone have a safe and fun filled heart warmin HANAQUANZACHRISMAS! In all seriousness-Happy holidays.

When I saw Trent this summer right before he played "Hurt" he said "Here's a song that isn't mine anymore." Im not sure how he meant that comment, but I took it like he now feels it is Johnny's song and that's cool with him!! He had to give JCash permission to cover the song so Im sure he is happy about it.
**question** Dave, during the first week of SRL you played a live version of Reptile for me w/ Bowie. It was great, and I have been looking for it ever since. Is that track on a cd or single? Any info on that would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to figure it out over in the community's NIN thread. I want to get it right away!
Love, Amber :)

Amber, thanks for asking Dave! Hope he has it. He's good with sharing with the family!

Hi Dave, hi 6767ers.
Happy Holidays to All !!!
Heather
I hope your finals went well. What's this about our Miffy deserting us? The insolence !!! I had such evil, wickedly diabolical plans for her. This really messes up my Christmas festivities.
ylais
I don't think Miffy's behaviour is very appropriate at all. (fiendish grin) She's probably off gallivanting around with family, celebrating the joys of the season.
Jezzi
Heather and I are feeling most lugubrious, over our abandonment by Miffy. 8-(
Shadow
You sound like you're doing well. Any luck finding a date on time? 8-)
Dave
What did you get Carmen for Christmas? We promise not to tell. 8-x
Off to start the whole Christmas thing now,

Hi everyone... Happy Holidays!
I'm slowly easing into the holiday spirit... I hope all of you are as well, and I hope everyone's plans and shopping excursions are going well... (If you *can* do it all in one shot, as I *try* to do, it's only one day of overcrowded, insane torture per year!)
"I'm not in this life to be remembered, I'm in it to enjoy it and to live it to the fullest."
Wow. Those are some wise words to live by. Although, in Dave's case, I think it's a little too late. Dave, you've made an indelible mark on the world whether you've wanted to or not!
Ciao for now,
