SRL/XMAS/10
There is a slight chance that tonight's Spread Radio live will be preempted by a dinner with Carmen's director friend. More to come on that... Now it's all about the Christmas shopping! Three words: Valet Valet Valet!
1. Where do you keep all your gear in between shows and rehearsals?
We have a storage locker for all the gear, I assume it's all there.
2. Dave, since finding out that Carmen is a crafty person, does she buy you something for the holidays or does she make you something instead?
No, that EVH guitar I posted a couple of days ago is my Christmas present.
3. Thanks for the answers and I still wanna know your thoughts on plugged/unplugged versions of Just Because....
Honestly, they are two different animals. I like them both for different reasons. Electric for the power and acoustic for the focus on the melody.
4. Dave, during the first week of SRL you played a live version of Reptile for me w/ Bowie. It was great, and I have been looking for it ever since. Is that track on a CD or single?
I honestly don't know. That version was sent in by a listener.
5. What did you get Carmen for Christmas?
Hahahahahahaha. I aint telling!
6. How do you feel when fan's write to you for adviceĀ on recovery?
Well, I am honored and appreciate the trust. Usually the best I can do is read their letters and let them know what I did. Rehab/therapy/meetings. I might even suggest my book or Anthony's book as an outline for how bad it can get. Other than that, the work has to be done by them.
7. I believe to a caller on CFR or SRL, that you were planning on putting the Spread & Rhimorse stuff up in Store 13. Any timetable for this?
Damn! Thanx for reminding me. I should get to work on that. No, I have no timetable, but it shouldn't be THAT hard to get together.
8. Whaddya think of the "Nip/Tuck" finale?
I absolutely loved it. So dark, twisted... right up my alley. I thought it might be Quentin, but they threw me with his getting attacked. Yes, I fell for it.
9. Dave, on your left forearm next to the card suits I noticed a tattoo of yours that I've never seen before. What does it say?
ADDICT
10. According to Carmen, our main man Dave cried at the end of Cheaper By the Dozen 2... Dave, tell us the truth, is it really that touching of a movie?
Naaaaahhhhhhhh! I didn't cry! It was just... allergies. Yeah, allergies.

I keep seeing stuff on a "Best of" Jane's album, Originally said a release date in Sept 05, now says January 2006. Is this for real and if so any idea what may be on it?? any previously unreleased tracks? Thanks

I'm that Spread and Rhimorse caller! Oh Dave, I really hope you get those CD's in there soon! That would be great. I would LOVE to hear them! Or at least the rest of them. :)
I have a question for you, though. Perhaps for the next Sunday 10....or random question answering.
Would you ever use a 7 string guitar to record some music on an album or do you prefer 6 strings?
Be well, and Merry Christmas to you and Carmen; The luckiest woman ever.

Its always a treat to see a new Top 10...Especially since myspace is undergoing maintenance ;) Happy holidays everyone! Dave, do you like gingerbread? Take care.

Thanks DeviantDave! That's too funny, "the listener" makes it sound so dark and sinister. Now I've got somewhere to start my search... Unless someone ("the listener" or Dave)wants to send me the file (bersonian1@aol.com)...hey no harm in asking right?! ;)

**question** Dave, during the first week of SRL you played a live version of Reptile for me w/ Bowie. It was great, and I have been looking for it ever since. Is that track on a cd or single? Any info on that would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to figure it out over in the community's NIN thread. I want to get it right away!
Love, Amber :)
AMBER--i am not the listener, but i downloaded this song at least four years ago from morpheus.com...before everyone knew it was really illegal (at least before i knew it was illegal) i live in a different state and do not have the same computer..it is only on a burned disk now. if you cannot find it maybe i can make you a copy of that cd..i burned a whole cd of trent, with a lot of different songs like get down make love and some live versions of things..let me know
LOSTBOY!! you're back, i have missed you! glad you are back. where are my stories? did anything interesting happen while you were away? anyone heard from jezzi? she hasn't posted in a few days. JEZZI--come out, come out wherever you are.
UNCLECREEPY-i did not turn my computer on yesterday but when i went back to read all of the posts, i just wanted to tell you that i agree with your post about the LESBIANS! i had a good friend that labeled herself a 'lipstick lesbian'.
DAVE- i think 'Cooking with Lesbians' is a great idea for a show..i know i would love to watch it instead of 'Cooking with Rachel Ray'

Allergies? Okay, if you say so!
No pressure... Gene Wilder or Johnny Depp? ;-) Do I really want to know? No, not really, but thought I'd throw an easy one your way!
Maybe MySpace is back up now!

Hey Dave, what are your thoughts on the new INXS album? You seemed to have kept rather quiet on the topic...or I just haven't been paying attention at the right times

P.S. I'm so glad the 10 questions are back.
Posted by: Rich at December 22, 2005 10:37 PM
Why yes Heather, the funniest thing happened while I was on vacation. The house/cat sitter fried my desk-top. My lap-top is still up in Washington D.C. So now I've been reduced to using my grandmothers web-tv. I'm laughing so hard, there are tears in my eyes.
Ho µ¢kin' Ho Ho,
LostBoy 8-(
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. My friend Dean went for a little swim, and he took my iPod with him. He claims he was in a mild state of confusion. Can anyone guess what Dean was smoking at the time?
Dave
I'm sending you a new friend for Christmas. His name is Dean. So keep an eye out for the UPS truck. He'll be arriving in several small boxes. Merry Christmas !!!

Howdy Dave, I see Henry Rollins has a new show on Indie in the New Year. How about getting him on CFR as a Guest DJ?
Happy Holidays to all...

Goodmorning!
And here's wishing every one a wonderful holiday!
Dave, if Santa could bring you one thing for Christmas, what would it be?
Always,
me

So, first a question drought and now oh so many!
I've no doubt missed the question boat, but here's one just in case!
D.N.- How did you go about developing your stage presence/persona? There are BIG differences now or even ten or so years ago as opposed to early Jane's. Did you just think of ways to change/evolve it or was it input from "artist development" type people?

I was watching Iconoclast last night and you kept popping up in some of the footage. Were you just at the party or are you going to be on it (pretty cool show).

Hey Dave.
Im sitting here learning the Master Of Puppets album on guitar, while strolling around here on your site, and a thought hit me.
What's your favourite Metallica & Megadeth albums?
Have a great christmas!

Speaking of "Just Because" in the Q. & A., Paul Shaffer and the Late Show Band played it a few nights ago - you know how they'll play a quick portion of a song before going to commercial. Anyways, they did the song justice w/ the instrumental version - sounded good.
So Dave, are you a David Letterman or Jay Leno fan? (I'm Letterman hands down!)
Have a good holiday fun-filled weekend. -Al

Heather,I did post a few days ago, although it wasn't under my name, because I was busy taking a cheap shot at Dave over the lesbian comment, I didn't understand, and I took offense, but didn't have the strength of my own convictions to sign my name to it...I am doing it now, and hoping that Dave and my 6767 family find it in their hearts to forgive me for being so irresponsible and mean.
12 step programs SUCK sometimes, just because you try to make amends, doesn't guarantee them. I understand, my dear family, if you are mad at me. I'm pretty angry with myself..
I love all of you, you have made my world a better place.
A good "friend" told me last night, when you make a mistake, you need to own it. I'm going to own it now, and am ready to accept the consequences of my actions.
