SRL New Show Times

(Photo: Todd Newman) OK. So now with Gregg Simon on board, we have decided to readjust the Spread Radio Live schedule and up the set times to twice a week. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30pm-9:30pm PST. Now, you know I can't help myself and I will more than likely do as many spontaneous shows as possible with the same old manner of notification (posts and bulletins) as before, but now you can count on two days for sure no matter what. I have also begun the task of archiving the broadcasts and plan to make those shows available for listeners residing in other time zones and can't catch us. Still getting this thing off the ground but you all have been such a huge part of it that I must share every last detail. We will be on again tomorrow night. BTW: I have a special call in Top 8 guest. Gregg will be with Carmen at the Carson Daly show so he might be late, but he will show up at some point. He always has funny stories about being backstage at those shows and events they go to.

Lost. Repeat! ANTM. Nicole. Didn't see that one coming but I must admit, it was more than a little heart warming.
Carmen: Are you crying?
Dave: What? No! No, not at all. I think it's just a little dusty in here. Must've gotten something in my eye...
Nip/Tuck. Well, I have to say that I was pretty upset that we didn't get any Carver/Kimber news, but they kind of made up for it with the Carver MySpace page at the end. That was awesome. Still, with the whole plane crash thing, I kinda felt like I wasn't watching my "all kinds of fucked up" show and instead got rerouted into a rerun of E.R.

This just in: This Sunday, December 11th, I will be a guest on Suicide Girls Radio on Indie 103.1FM from 12:00am-2:00am with hosts Missy and Bee. They Podcast the show but I might try and sneak my webcam in there...

dude...i totally purposely did not read your blog until after i watched top model tonight bc I freaking KNEW you were going to have a spoiler and I was right!! ANTM IS VERY SERIOUS!!!!

Posted by: nexttopmess at December 8, 2005 02:49 AM

ok, I am probably going to be hated for this, but...what's new?

Dave, I am a selfish girl, with selfish needs, and I must say, I kinda liked you doing the show by yourself!! Not to take anything away from Gregg, what's not to like about a guy who likes the titties, but....oh, well. Don't be afraid to do the show by yourself!

As for ANTW..How does a girl that was NEVER in the bottom two get eliminated? They might as well have picked the RETALIATION queen!

jezzi(let the blog flogs commence)

Uh Oh...did I ruin some sort of surprise/ending by posting the Carver's MySpace page for you the other day???? Sorry!

Wow--I'm a tad disappointed about Top Model.
I had it on--the last two girls were standing there--The judges were going to discuss who to pick--it went to commercial..SRL came on--and I missed watching who they picked!..LOL
I was hoping the other girl would have won..Oh well--What do I know about modeling?..LOL

Lost was a Damn repeat! and just as I started watching Nip/Tuck I fell fast assleep...oh well, that's life! I am glad to hear that you will be showing us East-Coasters some love and archiving the shows. Listening to you at work makes my day go faster...well....imagining you naked makes my day go faster too, but..oh wait....was that out loud?

Much love to the community!
Have a great day Loco!

Hi, Dave :)

The Hello Kitty guitar looks awesome on you! too cool...!

I´ve been enjoying your radio show a lot and also camp freddy radio - thanks for making it possible for us to listen to it on your website!

It´s also great to be able to download the videos - especially the disturbingly beautiful Venus in Furs! and speaking of videos, I have a request for you: could you please put your MTV CRIBS episode up for download? I´ve been having a hard time trying to find it on the web... So if you could help me out here I would really appreciate it - and I´m sure the other fans would love it too. :)

thanks a lot, Dave!

you rock!

all da best,
Lester The Bat.

Hmm - if Santa can't bring me a pink pussy guitar for crimbo I wonder if he can bring me Dave's chest? I'll sit on his lap and everything ...... ;-)

(and yes, I promise to bounce up and down like a 7 year old girl *grin*)

Posted by: Miffy at December 8, 2005 07:48 AM

miffy--lol. i laughed when you said you would Not sit in dave's lap if he would prefer, that was funny!

lostboy--you have to tell me the story now, no more bits and pieces...what happened with the 'high speed zipper' incindent???

dave- thanks for the archives, those of us with dial up need it as well!

Concerning Nip/Tuck....
I was wondering if Julia killed the woman she thought was her mom out of mercy, or because she wanted to be rid of her.
And will it come back to haunt her?

If you go on the messageboard for The Carver, they come up with all kinds of far-fetched outrageous theories about the Carver. I'm sure they will think the writers threw this incident in as a clue that Julia is the Carver.

Did you notice the profile info lists the Carver as a woman?

For those of you with UncleCreepy as one of your MySpace friends...go check out his page today...it's raining TPC over there...the coolest fucking thing I have ever seen!!!

Sorry to use this page for personal queries (yet again!) but I have finally sorted out my dvd player to multi-region so does anybody know a website where I can get TDDUP? Need one that ships to the UK and can't find anything from the searches I've done :-(

Thanks

(this could be the crappiest christmas ever - no TDDUP, no pink pussy guitar AND no Dave's chest! Where did it all go so wrong???)

Hope you all have a great day! I get to grocery shop and clean house....whoo hoo. Love my day off lol!

Also concerning Nip/Tuck: Oh, it was a mercy killing, alright. The mercy was for Julia! I would have killed her mother years ago!!

Seriously, for the poor burned woman, it was the best, there's no way in real life she would have lived (yes, I know it's a t.v. show).

BTW--DAVE NAVARRO--When you get tired of Carmen(yeah, right) just drop me a line, and we'll hook up! I really do love you and appreciate all that you do for us non-worthy fans!! SRL is great, too!

Yes!!!! I just scored some great seats for Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz...today is a good day indeed!

Dave...any possibility of getting your hands on the David Bowie/Bing Crosby - Little Drummer Boy duet for an upcoming SRL??? 'Tis the Season!!!

Maybe even a little Holiday themed show??? Perhaps, if we're really good girls and boys, could we hear Carmen's "Santa Baby"????

Great post today Dave...you had me crackin up, especially the crying over ANTM part. hah! The archives would be great for us lowly dial-upers cause we can hear it like we listen to the CFR on spread radio. I just pause for about an hour while it loads up and then I get an uninterupted stream of greatness! :)
Sue and Denise how was your show last night. Im listening to the new DM right now...loving it!! Im sure you had a great time. Jezzi...verizon techs been there yet to help ya out yet?

Hey Sexies

I love it...you guys are kill'n me with the tv show updates. Life as a single mom is way to hectic to have a selection of Fav shows to watch on a reg basis. I'm lucky if I can rewind the days recording of One life to live and General Hospital...gotta love the soaps there really aren't any reruns (kind of).

Dave I love your interest and generousity with all the action and new tasks going on here at 67. I'm having to relocate my family from the san francisco area to the god foresaken cuts of spokane washington to finally complete my degree and am really looking forward to staying in touch with the real world via dave's world here. Damn I'm gonna miss my life as I know it!!!

But until then I will have to subject myself to more unlimited concert hoaring!!!

On that note I have to write how incredibly awesome NIN in Santa Cruz, CA was...fucking amazing. Regardless of the fact that I litteraly felt like i had just gotten the best 3 hour session of sex without actually having any form of sex...absolutely indredible!!! This was the 3rd time I got to see them this year and Dave I truly hope this comment doesn't offend you becaues I love your guitar work more than any other but I have to say Aarron North is Smok'n I really dig his skilz and love how he moves around the stage swinging his guitar...truly intense!!! The venue was small and we were in the front like 2 people from the rail and the full body hug was truly needed and appreciated!!!

Dave I almost feel unfaithful having my feelings and comments about North but you are always first!!! Thanks for all your generous gifts

Kisses
Chrissy

Hey, Mechelle, that's what I thought. According to the "rule of nines" she wouldn't have made it, and she did that poor woman a favor. But it was that long camera shot (I love those drawn-out reaction shot BTW) and the shocked look on Julia's face when her mom popped up from the couch.(PRICELESS!) that had me thinking.

More senseless rambling...it's what I'm good at!

~Dani~

Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz....does that just seem wrong to anyone else?

aerosmith rocks it but i am not a big fan of kravitz. i grew up listening to aerosmith, my sister once said on her way to the concert that if she called from jail it was because she got arrested for jumping steven tyler on stage..she always had the hots for him.

Posted by: Heather at December 8, 2005 02:45 PM

Ok, this is just for you Heather. Consider it an early X-mas gift. I'll try to keep it short. I don't want to clog Dave's blog.

I went outside to use my cell phone, when I come back the office is empty. I see Nurse Barbie run into the men's room, so I follow. When I walk in, I find my very portly coworker Hugh thrashing about with his "member" caught in his zipper. Nurse Barbie panics and tries to yank his zipper down, before anyone can say anything. Really, really bad mistake. All my fellow co-workers are just standing there doing nothing to help. So I have to get down on my knees and crawl under his belly to take a look at the "problem area". And Hugh is a big guy, I don't think he's even seen his "problem area" (or his feet) in years. I take a look and discover Hugh is one of those guys with a little "extra skin". All of this "extra skin" and one of his "boys" is trapped in his zipper. I manage to get hold of the track to the zipper, when Wanda comes running with a small pair of sharp manicure scissors. She knows the deal, she has five grown sons. Anyway Hugh freaks, Wanda lunges, and I get stabbed with the scissors. I grab the scissors, cut the zipper track and all Hugh's "stuff" is free at last. And that should have been the happy ending to a funny story. BUT NO !!! That's when the bureaucracy and all the paperwork took over. Everyone (about 30 people) will be filling out forms until the end of time.

The names of the innocent blah blah blah, LostBoy

I'm not even going to try to explain the yellow crime scene tape, they roped off the men's room with. Or the guy in the rubber suit, who cleaned up the blood splatter.

Posted by: Cori at December 8, 2005 03:44 PM

I saw Lenny not too long ago, I didn’t know what to expect, I was never a huge fan, I mean I liked his music but that’s about it. After the concert I saw the light. The man simply rocks live. That concert was easily one of my top 3 all time favorites (this coming from someone that used to average four to eight concerts per month. (that’s used to now I’m lucky if I go to 2 per month.

Dave,
I think Gregg is a great choice as a cohost. You two seem very comfortable with each other and sound natural together in conversation. The only thing....no more old song lyrics Gregg!! I went to sleep singing Carol "It's too late baby" and woke up with "Anticipation" on my mind. I guess Carly and Carole are just too much a like, haha. Just Kidding. I like the old stuff.

Peace and Love All

Posted by: Stardreme at December 8, 2005 04:57 PM

We're getting a lot of ribbing from our fellow co-workers. They want us to do a re-enactment at the office Christmas party. They're calling it the "Hugh's Gnarly Rad Nads Incident". And I'm now "The Official Office Wiener Wrangler". (is it just me or does that sound really dirty?) Every time someone goes to the bathroom, they ask me if I'm coming. Just in case...

Still waiting for the funny,

ok, I guess some clarification is in order, so the hate mail will stop!! I NEVER said I didn't like Gregg, I LOVE that boy, just that I'm selfish and ANY cohost means time that DAVE isn't talking, Have you EVER heard me say anything against BILLY? I think NOT!!!

okay to the "Official Office Wiener Wrangler"--i laughed my ass off! i love you lostboy! i have had the worst week and i have three finals and lots of work in the next week so it is not going to get any better, but i knew i could count on you! see what you get for trying to look out for someone? (i am still laughing) i have a very vivid picture in my head now. i think this will help for a few days to come! it is funny, really it is..just remember no matter how embarassed you are just imagine how Hugh feels...lying there with his "jewels" in a painfully exposed position with a few people trying to help him but everyone else just staring... who do you think is more embarassed? thank you for being you.

wendybird--thanks for the pictures. also, lenny was that good? maybe i will see him if i ever get the chance then..i just don't know. i do not get to go to many concerts at all..like one a year. (if that) in the last 6 years i have been to 3: NIN the fragile tour, kid rock, and motley crue. and NIN is coming in march, so we can add that to the list.

Ok, I have to get this off my chest.

Last night I heard 'Jane says'(the live version) and was wondering where it was coming from. I noticed it was on a Jack Danels commercial.

Dave, what up with that? Are you guys still paying off your debts? Are you gettin' any money?

I was VERY sad to see that Jane's was being used that way. I just had to put in my 2 cheap cents.
Much love, CC

Yeah Heather, poor Hugh. The man carries himself with such dignity and good humour. I might not have jumped in so fast, if it had been someone else. The man has watched my back, the whole two years I've worked with him. I can't believe some of the nimrods I work with. But Hugh takes all the teasing with such grace. I wish there were more Hughs in the world. The whole 2 years I've known him, I've never heard him say a bad word against anyone.

Trying to be a better person,
LostBoy

I hope your week gets better. What's left of it anyway. LOL

Lotsa stuff going on! It's good to know that SRL will definitely be on at specific times. As always, I'll try to catch it when I have a chance. Lotsa fun. Fortunately, the time is not a problem for this East Coast night-owl. LOL. It's usually when I catch my 2nd wind.

Stardreme - I don't know what was discussed on SRL last night (I had a holiday party to attend), but I get Carole and Carly mixed up ALL THE TIME too. Glad I'm not the only one. :)

Ambersonian - Thanks for asking about the DM show. It was awesome! Granted, things were a little hectic at first, trying to coordinate getting 7 people together from all over the tri-state area. Lots of cell phone calls, running aimlessly around Penn Station, miscommunication, etc. No time to try to sync up with Sue or even see the Bravery for that matter. :( Oh well.

The rest of the show was fantastic, though! Dave G was looking lean & mean, slinking around the stage, shaking his booty like someone half his age. And his voice... wow. So powerful. One of the best, strongest, most distinctive voices of our generation.

The band was really into it, and so was the crowd. The Garden was PACKED. They did a few mid-tempo and slow tunes at first, then the beat to "Behind the Wheel" kicked in, and everyone got up on their feet and started dancing. The crowd didn't sit down for the rest of the show. I'd almost forgotten just how many great song they've put out over the years.

To tie this all in with "our" Dave, I have a funny little story from that day....

I don't know about you guys, but every time one of my friends or family members see Dave N on TV, they like to tell me about it. So, one of my friends was telling me how she caught a rerun of Dave on the Stern show one night when she couldn't fall asleep. I was episode with Savanna, where they call Carmen, etc. Now, this very opinionated friend inexplicably doesn't feel the Dave-love quite as much as we do... but she had to admit that Dave was very "gentlemanly" on the Stern show, and that he "handled the situation well".

I'm sure Dave will sleep better tonight knowing this. LOL

OK, I'm done babbling. Have a good one, all. TGIF, and TG the snow that they predicted for NY turned into rain. For once, I'm loving the rain!

Cheers,

Posted by: Denise at December 9, 2005 08:35 AM

Argh... Make that: "songs".

Posted by: Denise at December 9, 2005 08:37 AM

Seriously CC
I think when companies use a artists music, it in a odd way validates the music. Jack Daniels is paying for a multi million dollar ad campaign. And they're betting there are enough people out there that loved Jane Says. If you think about it Jane's Addiction wasn't one of those main stream, top of the charts feel good bands. Jack Daniels was taking a chance when they used one of their songs. Plus anytime I get to hear a little Jane's Addiction is a bonus for me.

Just my opinion,
LostBoy

Posted by: LostBoy at December 9, 2005 03:08 PM

I love that idea about archiving the broadcasts since living in Reykjavik, Iceland means waking up at 3:30am to catch the show.....which is doable on weekends but I´d like to keep my day job.

Posted by: Júlía at December 9, 2005 03:32 PM

i agree lostboy. i think we have all talked about this before, so i have said this before but i will say it again..when i see that commerical it makes me smile. it doesn't make want to run out and buy jack daniels..it makes me go put on my jane's addiction cds. jane says is one of my very favortie addiction songs so i think it is great that it is playing for the 'new generation' to discover.

Posted by: Heather at December 9, 2005 05:02 PM

You know Heather, I don't think Dave has a controlling interest in Jane's Addiction any more. If he ever had any to begin with. I've always thought it was Perry who took the largest slice of that pie. That's the only reason I can see, that some of the Jane's stuff got pulled off the TDDUP DVD. And I've heard Perry's had a few hard times. So I don't know if Perry still has control. I would love to know who really owns the Jane's Addiction catalog. I have noticed Dave has enough class, not to start throwing rocks at peoples heads. But truthfully I do enjoy running into Janes in video games, commercials and TV programs. "Been Caught Stealing" was just so right in that first episode of "My Name is Earl".

Still just my opinion,

that reminds me! i just bought TDDUP today! i cannot watch it until i am done with my finals..i would be way too distracted to actually study. :P but come thursday, i will be in heaven. my mom wants the carmen electra striptease video..she says she wants to work out. i think that is just a little too much info about my mother than i needed to know. ha,ha

Heather
You really need to get done with your finals before watching TDDUP. Otherwise you'll get that commentary stuck in your head. I walked around for days laughing. Which is great as long as people know why you're laughing for no apparent reason. I don't think finals and hysterical giggling are a good mix.

Trying to be helpful,
LostBoy

D,

Are you still in contact with Rich Costey?

He has been a part of some great sonic production for you, Muse, and Rhett Miller. However I have not heard anything he has worked on in a couple of years..

I have a story, I couldnt find the Lost boy one-Ill keep lookin.. anyway back in the heroin days I was drinkin too much one night and puffin some headdie herb. Anyway, I cant remember if I was noddin, but I zipped up like a 1/4 in of my scrotom after pissin. Anyway, you couldnt see it through the zipper but it left a scab.
The funny part was I had started a new relationship and couldnt have sex because I didnt want to explain it and thought she might think I had some shit on my junk if you understand. So hard to do in a new daily sexual relationship. I told that story at rehab, in a group on sharing things people dont know about. Some people would say "Zip" to make me laugh when I was down or just passin by.

To the 6767 East Coasters/Stern fans: anyone heading down to Times Square for Howards last show on Friday. Blues Traveler and Staind are gonna play the Beatlejuice song! among a possible concert. Howard will make a speach..and the stripers and pornstars will be doin the lap dance thing. Hope to see people there...let me know..

Good to see ya typin Uncle Creepy, you make me smile...(Note-not because others frown either. Do you really have dial up? Shocking considering all the stuff you add here, I figured you and Jezzi and Cori and Deena all would have supercomputers with like 9 gizillion megahertzes and megabites and ultimate connections of fiber optic sort..

Hey now

Boot n down
