Spread Radio Live Now!

So we launched Spread Radio Live last night. If you missed it, go to Spread Radio Live for future broadcasts. I will post when there is another show. Hopefully, I'll be doing a couple of 2 hour shows a week from my home. Eventually, the plan is to have set hours, but for now, since we are just dialing all of this in, the broadcasts will be spontaneous and vary in length. Last night we opened the chat room and Steve Isaacs came in. He and I debuted the majority of the new Panic Channel album to about 30 listeners. It was truly an amazing time. Carmen even came in and guest hosted with me.

Future shows will be more along the lines of great commercial free radio: killer playlists and guests, live performances and of course non-regulated talk. I'm sure we will slip some new material in there every once in a while. The next show will feature Steve Isaacs and we will be playing some more of the upcoming album as well as an acoustic performance or two. I will for sure, let you know in advance when that will be, but keep checking in here as I am sure I will not be able to wait until then. Thanx to Nicecast and live365 for the support and a huge thanx to Robert aka Loop!

Is there a certain program we need to have to run this? Mine seems to not be working.

Posted by: americanzer0 at November 17, 2005 08:03 PM

Dave
No Biased words. The songs were brilliant, honestly nothing should be cut. I would suggest the White and Black Albums, but the Beatles did that...who cares, do it too. It all should be put on CD.

Thank you, Carmen and Steve for a great evening! The Music and Laughs....you're all very special.

Love and Peace to you all!

Posted by: Stardreme at November 17, 2005 08:11 PM

That was so cool!
Silly me, I thought you were loop.
But I got it working and it sounded awsome. I've still got that "Listen" tune in my head.
And some of your solos too! I've so got to get my music stuff set up here properly soon. I think I may be ready to rock..Thanks for the inspiration.

I thought you all might like to know.

Bauhaus slid fully formed from punk rock's womb in late 1978. Over the course of four hot years, they unintentionally birthed a genre (Goth), moved on, moved forward, and surged mercurial through the post-punk music scene, tearing into tense, bass-driven new-wave, T-Rex-esque dark-glam, and swirling, clattering, orchestral atmospherics, whilst churning it into a grand, velvet, Rimbaudian hallucination. To pin the band to one genre is nothing but reductive. Their influences run deep, encompassing everything from dub reggae to proto-electronic bands like Can and Suicide.

It's all building blocks; you see it when they play live. It comes to you in sudden illuminations! You realize that The Faint, The Killers and Moving Units got their twisted, sex club beats from Bauhaus. Seeing Bauhaus live brings it all back home. Band members, Peter Murphy (singer), David J (bassist), Daniel Ash (guitarist) and Kevin Haskins (drummer) will be performing at The Grove of Anaheim on Friday, December 9th, for one unforgettable evening.

Bummer... Missed the chat-broadcast thingie. I was in the city on a work-related outing, followed by really awesome sushi and libations and conversation. *Almost* as good as this, I suppose, but not quite. Oh well... Hopefully next time!

All the best,

Thank you so much for the amazing preview. I was having a bad day until then. That made it a great day. Love to all

Posted by: jasmin5184 at November 18, 2005 01:56 AM

..ok thinking Dave

The thing that was great about it most to me was it was like going to a concert. We didn't just hear the music, but you and Steve gave feedback. The personal touch you get when hearing it live and a story that goes with it.

To buy a CD and just listen...yeah, but to listen to this one, it will be better. The stories, the talk of the work behind it...Special!!

All the work you do to bring things to us like last night...you all just wonderful.

Posted by: Stardreme at November 18, 2005 03:45 AM

A little more warning please so not so many of us miss it! We all can't be on here 24/7! ARGH!

So i get connected every night, and exactly last night when i didn't connect you do this!!! >:(

Hope to see it the next time...

I mean Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees.

Party on,

Missed it!!
Dave, you need to get a mailing list together so you can send out a msg when you're doing this, please!
Have a great day everyone,
Love,
Sue

Posted by: Sue at November 18, 2005 05:51 AM

I second the request to post mp3 or podcast of last night's program!! We've all been patiently waiting for so long, and we want the inside scoopage that comes with personal commentary from the artists themselves, the kinda stuff the casual CD buyer won't get, won't know about, and probably wouldn't care about.
=falling to my knees in begging posture= Purdy pleeezz?
[hi spacey :) ]

Hey Dave. I was at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano last night. As I was leaving, I saw a picture of Jane's Addiction on the wall. There you were, sans beard and longer hair. I had to do a double take. Very cool pic!

Posted by: Kate at November 18, 2005 07:07 AM

I gotta tell you Man, I was one of the lucky 30, and that was an incredible moment. Don't think I'll EVER forget it, it was that monstrous. Chilling, crushing, epic-Jesus, this is just gonna blow up so fucking huge. I'm ecstatic with joy for you, Steve, Perk, Chaney, and all that are along for this ride. Really great music is something that is greater than the sum of it's parts. That is certainly the case of what I was able to experience last night. That was damn near a religious experience and I'm still not quite over it. Thanks and kudos to all involved, excellent work.

I just want to know one thing Dave. When in the HELL are you gonna do anything for us FANS Man? :)

Posted by: Lyn at November 18, 2005 08:03 AM

Wait... Did I just read that we might be exposed to Dave's musical and comical genius, his favorite tunes, his dynamic personality, AND stunning visuals... several times a week?! Did I wake up yet, or am I still dreaming?

:)

Posted by: Denise at November 18, 2005 08:04 AM

hey Sue! Great idea (mailing list)!

Posted by: Junebug at November 18, 2005 08:12 AM

I know, Lyn, look at us..hey Dave, thanks for the live radio, now give us a PODCAST, let us download the CD for FREEE....ahhahhaha

I think that you are nothing short of a genious, if not the King of all media, certainly, its Crown Prince..you know so much about technology, and recognize the power of the internet to reach the masses, be careful what you wish for, I think you are on to something here.

I might just have to get a second job, but I can't miss out on this..I need a better computer than my commodore, and dial up just isn't gettin' it for me, though I must say, that there is something to be said for listening to it LIVE, as it happens, and I am SO incredibly happy for the few that DID get that. To be a part of history like that, to be among the first to hear the completed recordings of TPC..well, all I can say is, that's something you'll be able to tell the grandkiddies about.

ok, morning gushing over, be back for my afternoon dose.

love to loop!
jezzi(now, back to my 8-tracks)

Posted by: jezebel at November 18, 2005 08:32 AM

Dave,
We are already blessed enough with early exposures to tidbits of you new music/masterpieces. Anyway, have you considered an early realease of the new CD to TPC board members? Also, are their tour dates to accompany the realease? I prob should have saved these questions for Sunday 10, but anyway. Thanks for being so great to us, your fans.

Also - just an idea - since you plan to have more internet radio broadcasts - would you consider a show dedicated to DTTAH - kind like "Opra's Book Club" except it would be 'Dave's Book Club.' I think it would be cool to talk about your book, Pamela's Des Barres book. Might be a silly idea, but I though I'd throw it out there.

Thanks.

Cris

Dave:

I can not believe that I missed this! I too am begging for a tad more warning next time, I would HATE to miss this again. It not only sounds like a great idea, apparently all who were lucky enough to experience this event loved every minute of it. I can't wait for the next one, as I have been anxiously awaiting sound bites of the TPC record. Can you officially use the "King of All Media" monicker now? I don't believe Howard's using it =)

Mucho amor, loco:

Damn What a sweet surprise!!! Wish I could have caught that one...another reason I need to be connected at home.

Dave~
But besides missing your little surprise,I did get an awesome treat last night. I've been going absolutely crazy lately with my ex and him flaking out on our children and had to have a dose of Kettle Whistle to gain some sanity and my 6yr old for the first time took a huge liking to three days and said Mamma one more time please...we continued to listen to it 3 more times and on the way to school this morning he said mamma I need to listen to #9 (3days kettle whistle) please!!! I love it. Thank you for your beautiful gift of music whether it be new, experimental, classic or whatever the fuck it is. It has a positive effective impact on my life!!!

Keep it rock'n sexies!!! I hope I can keep it together........

So, what does a girl from Venezuela has to do to get Dont Try This At Home??? what about uploading it too? ;) haha

Posted by: Marivic at November 18, 2005 08:54 AM

"Thank you for your beautiful gift of music whether it be new, experimental, classic or whatever the fuck it is. It has a positive effective impact on my life!!!"

Amen to that!

"So, what does a girl from Venezuela has to do to get Dont Try This At Home???"

Have you tried searching on www.amazon.com ? They usually have everything, and I assume they can ship stuff to your country, unless some kooky law prohibits it...

Posted by: Denise at November 18, 2005 09:52 AM

I second that....GREAT idea Sue.

Yes, a mailing list 'heads up' would be a super idea. Since a lot of fans aren't on their comps 24/7...... we tend to miss a lot of what goes on here.

For people having trouble with some links here: To access things like the CFR Webcast etc.

I sometimes need to use the Source page (or click on XML at the bottom of the links list here), I then copy whatever URL I need into a new browser, then the link finally opens.

Thanks for the myspace heads up, Jez

BUT NOW I have to break down and join myspace for the mailing list. I am inherently lazy about that and have until now, resisted.
dammit. Dave, can't we just have one here? I'll do it for you, tell loop to email me and I'll put my database abilities to work for you.
