Last Day of Recording

Hey, what's happening? Just got done watching ANTM and I was a little sad to see Jayla go I must say, although I think she is more of the "cute" sitcom on the WB type, rather than a full blown model. Now that all the drama is done, I am kinda over it. Nip/Tuck, however, is still going strong! Racism, serial mutilators, porn, surgery, gay doctor/patient threads... It's all good. Law & Order never disappoints. It's always a safe bet. Lost, however, I am starting to get concerned about. It is really as if they have no idea where it is all going. Writers of past episodes have disclosed that they have planted situations in the story that will never resolve and that the current writing team really doesn't know how to make this thing go for four or five seasons. If that is the plan, it's gonna tank, although I hope not cause as bad as it is getting, I am still wrapped up in it full of the hopes and dreams that this will conclude next season with some kind of unbelievable finale that will leave the world speechless and in awe. Somehow, I don't think that this will happen. Why am I going on about television? Well, because today, Steve and I actually spent our last day of recording in the studio before the mix. Naturally, I have taken a more invested interest in my shows. The shit sounds awesome! I have been playing some songs every once in a while on Spread Radio Live and your feedback has been really supportive. Thanx for all the positivity.

Speaking of SRL, it's been a lot of fun and I am working on ways in which to improve upon it. I love the interactive thing we have going with the IM windows and the requests, but as I said on tonight's show, it is hard for me to get to everything so please bare with me. I have been doing a show a day for a while and I will try to keep that vibe alive as long as I can. Some days will be a lot of talk, some days will be a lot of music with not much talk, some days will be guests and meaningless chatter, but it will always be spontaneous and free.

P.S. The new Rokbar site has finally been launched. Loop did an amazing job. Check it out!

Rock on D-Man! The way you treat us fan's, and the special "nuggets" we get from you, put you far and above other artist's. You bleed passion, and your love of communication & technology constantly give us something to look forward to. something un-expected. And I must say, that I've been catching decent amounts of SRL lately, and it's becoming a daily habit, need my fix... 6767.com set's the standard...

I totally agree with you Adam. This is just awesome. I talk to co workers about Dave and the stuff he does and they almost don't believe me but they think it is great. Thank you Dave for everything you do for your fans. Look forward to hearing you every time I can when I am not at work. Thanks Again.

Love to you and Carmen

Dave, SRL has been amazing, and you are doing a wonderful job of keeping it going in full force. We are all very appreciative of what you're doing. i personally have developed a growing interest in several of the bands you have played, and i never would have known of them otherwise.

So whether it's your own music you are giving us, or someone else's, i am eternally grateful.

Senor Navarro, It's cool to here you ramble about reality tv like ANTM, which i watched also, it makes me feel like less of a loser, anyhow, I wanted Kim to win, i thought she had potential, don't you think? well now they're down to three I gotta go for Nik I guess, don't really have some good options however. So where you in uptown girls or have I totally lost it? I've lost it haven't I. . .? oh well. . Are you gonna be checking out Project Runway at all? Seriously I loved your solo cd wish you'd make another, Have you read any good books? if not what's you're favorite?

Dude you can't just say who got kicked off Top Model!!! No way!!! I haven't watched it yet. :( Although you do get a lot of respect for watching it, I can't get my man to watch it for any reason. Also I am really hoping for Lost to make a comeback...I think it will.

Posted by: nexttopmess at December 1, 2005 12:42 AM

How awesome that you dig ANTM! Speaking of which, I caught a parody of it on E! today from Lohan's SNL episode and Maya Rudolph was frickin hilarious as Miss Tyra!

I know this Real World sucked, but how funny was the Ben Affleck comment?! Nehemiah accused Danny of thinking he's Ben Affleck for being on the RW. Hilarious! I can't wait for the Gauntlet to start...man, I love dysFUNctional tv!

Posted by: ellen at December 1, 2005 01:10 AM

PS anyone else think its weird that danny and melinda got engaged? And that the mtv camera crew filmed it? They were given an *awesome* ring from michael c. fina. Maybe they're doing another show? Or maybe that was the hitch to getting the ring? I dunno....

Though as ja said, "nothings shocking"! HA

Posted by: ellen at December 1, 2005 01:13 AM

I just keep saying it, Spread Radio Live fuckin' owns!
Keep the free and uncensored vibe on S.R.L. going and won't get worse than Lost!
But seriously, do you observe these shows to keep from focusing too hard on the record?

Posted by: Spencer at December 1, 2005 01:44 AM

Spencer...Happy Birthday!
Hi family...I missed you, here's where you say...'were you gone?" Back at work, like the In Living Color dude, I have ten jobs, mon..and nine of them are kickin' my butt! But enough about me! I have to publicly profess my love for Jenn, she's made my space fun again for me! She's a Jennious! Thank you, honey, for helping me be a true Jezebel!

D-nav! Hah..like I said, my friend Vinnie is ready and able to take care of all detractors, if you know what I mean, you know, cement shoes, sleepin' with the fishes...wink wink. So, you're sayin', that the reason you haven't got to my requests is because I'm not the ONLY one sending them to you? Imagine my shock! And here I was taking it all personal. Fine line between insecurity and egomania, my friends! haha
I love you Dave!

Last night, I finally got to listen to SRL for a few minutes. Wow! I hope to be able to catch it again soon...

So Dave, CFR - any special holiday shows/guests, etc....?

Thanks for giving so much of yourself to us!

Always,
me

Spontaneous, Free and Dave - sounds like an awesome mix!

Thought I'd just check in - a, back to my level, happy self thanks to the docs, supportive partner, family and friends, and my own decision to grab life by the horns and damn well make the most of it!

My creativity has returned, I've been painting, making, organising my sisters 21st for her - and I went out on an awesome night out just the other night to catch up with an incredible friend I hadn't seen in a whiloe, and make some more friends whilt I was at it! (One of them looked a bit like Marty Casey - cute!!!)

So there we are, life is good!

Sending love to all

Hello Dave,
I live in Japan and I've been accsessing 6767 for a while, and its my first time writing.
I've always apreciate your music!

And I've been wondering if TPC has any plans for world tour. I know it's really early to ask you this cuz you guys just finished your recording and I bet you guys have alot more to come.
But it'll be awesome if you guys can perform in Japan.
Maybe Fuji Rock Festival?

Posted by: Taku at December 1, 2005 04:13 AM

Congratulations are in order. Last day in the studio towards the long awaited TPC first release. It's a momentous day and one that should be noted. November 30th, 2005.

Congratulations Man! I know it's been a labor of love, through many changes, some trying, and you've got to be relieved and fulfilled. Following your career for the past 17-18 years or so, I can't help but feel happy and elated for you, Isaacs, Perk, and Chaney in your achievement.
Having the sheer joy of meeting you personally was more than cool, much like your overall vibe you project in everything you do. You're an inspiration to many, a God amongst some, and without sounding too sappy, someone I personally look up to. Again, Congratulations! on finishing what I know will be an industry shaking body of work. From one OLDSCHOOL'er to another, Peace and God Bless!

Dave, thanks for always getting back on the IM's. I'm sure it's nothing short of chaos and yet you still manage. You the man!

Posted by: Jenn at December 1, 2005 05:06 AM

Love SRL, Dave! That's why I'm here!

The new Panic Channel stuff sounds awesome so far.

Isn't Nip/Tuck sick? Just when you say, "what happened to The Carver?," they pop him back in again!

Posted by: gypsyfenix at December 1, 2005 06:13 AM

Well, Jezzi look at it from this point of view: is better to have too much work, that having none... ;)

Posted by: Marivic at December 1, 2005 06:20 AM

I missed Nip/Tuck this week... they re-into'd the carver, or are u referring to Quentin's behaviors, mimicking those of the Carver? I for one have thought all along it's been Quentin...

I am loving the SRL webcasts so much. Thanks so much Dave. The type of music you play is so new to me. I'm learning about new (well new to me) bands and music daily. I find myself searching the web when you mention bands I havent heard, and learning so much more! Thanks again!
Btw....i had to go to 3 Targets to find TDDUP video! It was sold out! COngrats!

Note to Dave:
Spontaneous and free = we dig that shit!! It's what sets your gig high above the others. Do whatever you feel....and people will flow with it or not. Personally, I'm flowing.

Have a great Thursday!!

positivity?

Posted by: QQQ at December 1, 2005 08:18 AM

Hey -

I couldn't agree more with, well, everyone. Dave is doing everyone a HUGE favor by doing this SRL thing... it's very awesome and generous and selfless. It's a shame that some people have to abuse the privilege of its interactive nature. He can't be everyone's personal DJ/counselor/bitch/slave. (OK, now I can see this possibly heading in a different direction! lol. But I'll stay on topic.)

As for the haters, unfortunately there are assholes in all walks of life. It stinks that these idiots have to jeopardize things for everyone else. Hopefully there's a way to circumvent them... Maybe Jezzi's pal Vinnie can chop off some fingers or something. ;)

Anyhow, I wish everyone well. Dave - Glad you enjoyed your TV shows. You guys are inspiring me to maybe finally get a DVD player and get up-to-speed with Nip/Tuck. I've heard nothing but great things about it, from pretty reputable sources!

Cheers,

Watched the vid on your site for Bloody Mary The Panic Channel stuff sound really good. Different than JA but good. Can't wait for the record. Any details of release dates and if it will be released in Europe

hello Dave and famliy!

Nip/tuck doesn't disappoint dave! I love that show!

Have a good day all... I am going to clean house and get ready for the snow that is coming here this afternoon.....

Posted by: karrie at December 1, 2005 09:52 AM

Dave's been doing a brillant job with SRL.

"You can't please all of the people all of the time..." or however that line goes!

Of course, he can't accomodate everyone's requests, it's absurd to think he can. Chill out people.

Though, personally......I tend to think the people sending in the vile IMs are probably NOT his fans, it's probably 'Molly' & 'her' crew. The haters are relentless.

As for the actual fans wanting to hear something he doesn't have........send in your music files to Dave. Perhaps he'll play more of them. He already has.

I had a few requests, he played them, probably because he did have them on hand. Guess we also have the same taste in music. ;)

Lastly, be grateful he's been interacting with us on this level.......for ALL these years! Dave's a pretty accessible 'rockstar'!

Not many other famous people would do what he's been doing.....maintaining an actual dialog and relationships with his fans!

THINK about it people.

take care,
itanja

Dude,

Thanks for playing Xiola last night. I have not heard that for almost 20 years! (Plus it makes me feel good that you still respect and support PF artistically.)

And the NIN song that they used to open with was so fucking off the hook! Now I'm nothing! I saw their first LA show at the Probe in like 89/90 and was blown away. Then again at the Irivine Lollapalooza shows. Amazing, even in the bright summer sunshine. That was a great line-up.
Rock on, brutha!

Hey Dave, congrats on your last day recording! Speaking of TV show, do you ever watch House. I just discovered it and have gotten totally hooked. season one is out now on dvd and season two is airing on tuesdays. you should check it out

Posted by: dansefloorsex at December 1, 2005 11:30 AM

Thanks for the update about the Rokbar site. Beautiful, beautiful work, Loop! (It even loaded on my crappy old PC... I was able to watch the video and all. Unbelievable.) Nice details, like the flickering candles.

If Rokbar is half as good as its website (and it looks like it is), I wanna go! In fact, my workplace *might* be hosting an event somewhere on the west coast in a few months. If so, I will try my darndest to shoot to LA to check out Rokbar. Hell, if I was the boss, I'd make sure it was HELD there! Imagine lounging on sofas, sipping cocktails, watching Powerpoint presentations. lol. Good times.

Check out this band that I posted on my profile background music. They are called The Back Horn. They are Japanese, but they rock like az how!

Posted by: White Death 120 at December 1, 2005 12:27 PM

I definitely second that House comment!! ^^ I love it...Hugh Laurie (sp?) is a great actor.

Dave--I was wondering if you were producing this album yourself, or is someone else doing it for you? If you get a wild hair maybe you could explain the job of a producer since Im not exactly clear on that. Thought it had something to do with fronting the money...but some first hand info from you would be awesome! :)
Congrats on finishing TPC album....I can't even wait to get it in my stereo!! And thanks for doing SRL...I know everyone else has pretty much covered it so I'll just say that!

Jezzi its good to see you on here girl!
Shadow same to you...Im really glad to hear your doing well.

Love, Amber :)

I am reading Neil Strauss' "The Game," and it is freakin me out!! As a single woman who frequents the bar scene--it makes me paranoid to know there are gangs of pick up artists lurking around the corners.
It is a MUST READ!

Thanks for the input Dave, great book. The bible replica is pretty cool too.

I agree. I've been surfing for a while, and Dave is the FIRST well-known musician I've seen that has this much contact with his fans.

Can anybody name someone else? Hmmmm?

Keep on Rockin, Dave! All the "li'l fuckers" appreciate it!

LOVING the RokBar site!! I mean, there's something to be said about a nightclub that is not afraid to post pics of their loos!!

The last time I was in there, I had the place mostly to myself, and got to watch Mulholland Drive on the giant screen, whilst drinking a diet coke, and relaxing in comfort in the leopard skin/leather booths...No Cover charge, walking distance from cheap parking at Hollywood and Highland, who could ask for more?

jezzi(well, I could, but that's just cause I'm such a demanding girl, more, more, more...with a Rebel Yell)

Thanks, Dave, for opening up your heart and life to us, your fans....we appreciate it, and love you and your music more than you know....

RE: "Nip/Tuck"--don't you think Merrill is the Carver??? Quinton is way too obvious.....

And yes, karma is something that can (and will!!) bite you in the ass, if you spread negativity....(and is it just me, but everytime I see the word "karma" I think "Karma Chameleon" (Culture Club)--I am wayyyyyyyyyy old)....

I'm as big a fan of the true crime genre as you are & this show has been totally kicking my ass!!!! All I'm saying is the start of one incredible episode featured NIN ~ "Every Day is Exactly the Same"

Deena ~ Rokbar in NYC? I'll meet you there! It could be the official JA/Spread/Panic Channel meeting place!

Hey Dave,

here's the explanation for the Kenna confusion, sorry about the mixup.

At some point in the broadcast:
me: "hey dave, do you like kenna?"
(meanwhile, I go to kenna website, and soon after, kenna's music comes through my speakers)

thinking that you were playing kenna, I send an im 'recognizing' that you like kenna, at which point I realize that I'm a dumbass, because it's playing off the kenna website.

At this point, you get confused reading my im's on air, and I try to explain (but just add to the confusion) by posting the link to their site.

In the meantime, I'd missed the fact you'd asked people to hold im's so that you could give the shirt away.

And thus, the confusion. Sorry about that.

Morning everyone - I miss 2 days on here, come back and what is going on? Who's being horrible to Dave? I've got my pink boxing gloves on ready - and I've got PMT - bring it on!

First off, last night's SRL was fun, at least the tail end that I caught. I don't know if this is good or bad, but the timing's actually kinda perfect for a night-owl like me! Nice way to wind down...

So now I'm easing into a new workday, trying to wake up, checking my horoscope just for the heck of it, and look what I see for tomorrow...

"A scandal concerning a celebrity whom you admire could be spread all over the newspapers today, Denise. This might throw you for a loop, and you might even suffer a little disillusionment. Withhold judgment for the time being, however. Much of what you hear may be traced to gossip or other forms of misinformation. Shocking though it may be, you'll want to hear the celebrity's side of it. Only then can you form an objective opinion."

Weird, huh? lol. I guess you heard it here first. I just thought it was kinda funny in light of everything going on here lately. Figured I'd share, and those of you with my sense of humor would get a laugh.

Of course, you can't believe everything you read. The horoscope says I'm supposed to get an "unexpected financial windfall" today. Sure.

Anyhow, have an awesome Friday, everyone!

Love,

Good morning family,
I have been having some not so happy times lately. Last night, I trudged down to my mailbox, figuring I would at least OPEN the bills, if not pay them. Lo and behold, not one, but TWO cds of my guest host gig on CFR, one from lovely Julianna from Billy's blog, and the other from my beautiful algermom. It brought a huge smile to my face, which is no small feat lately. Thank you girls, you are my angels~!

And, thank YOU, Dave, because of this site, my life has been enriched immeasureably by the wonderful people I have met here. Positivity (is that a word?) breeds postivity..

I love all of you!
