Studio/CFR
Sorry it has been so long since my last post, I have been deep in the studio with The Panic Channel. I should be done with the majority of my work today. So far I have worked on such songs as Outsider, Bloody Mary, Loophole, She Won't Last, Said You'd Be, Left To Lose, Awake, Go On and Teahouse. I have been listening to a lot of Pink Floyd (Dark Side, Animals, Wish You Were Here) lately and I think some of that has rubbed off on the tracks. I suppose that is never a bad thing. I have been cutting some solos using a Strat and a pedal called a Deja Vibe which is now my favorite effect. Very old school sounding. Today is all about a song called Why Cry and next week we go in to cut a song called Listen. The more time we spend in there working, the less I hear a "single" but who cares? I am really just digging the process. The record is really starting to sound cohesive and finished. I'd give it another week or two before I feel "done", but that's not that far away. I like to get done and then listen for anything I think I can better and redo.
Billy will be out for Saturday's CFR, but Donovan and I will be there with Carmen. The chat will be open from 6pm-8pm PST. I am gonna try to do another videocast. Unfortunately I don't have a connection in the recording studio so the ability to cast from there is not an option. Anyway, the Saturday show should be fun as usual.

Hey Dave! I was so bummed that I didn't get to see you while I was in Vegas last week. So close, but so far away...what a bummer! Did you ever get a tat from H&H while there? We ventured over there, but was not too impressed as they did not want to do anything original. Hubby had some drawings that he wanted to put together but they seemed like they didn't have time. I guess if you're not famous, you are no one. So...getting one done back home. Glad you posted...was missing reading new stuff! And thanks for the pic! Always love to see new pics!

Great to hear from you Dave, I was starting to miss your posts! I am glad to hear that Carmen will be on CFR this Sat, I thought it was preatty funny last time she was in.
I am glad that you guys are making so much progress on the record. I know I speak for many when I say that I can't wait to hear the final result. Is there an official time frame attached to the project yet?
Mucho amor, loco...

Hello Dave, just a question. About The Deja Vibe, can you tell me what can do that littletechnoretrosquare, i mean, what kind of Atmosphere and ofcourse Vibe does it create?
Peace from the south. Of the continent.

Hi Dave,
Listening to a lot of Floyd is never a bad thing! I'm a HUGE Floyd Freak and I find that listening to them sometimes helps me expand my ideas and get's me to try things I usually would not consider. Have you listened to any Meddle at all? That is such a great album! One of These Days,A Pillow of Winds, and Echoes are all amazing songs!
Glad to hear you've been using the Strat and I can't wait to hear the new album, keep on keepin on brother!

Dear Family,
Just wanted to check in and see how all you lovely cats are...I am doing really good today, one month exactly, officially in recovery!
Man you guys were right...all these wonderful things are happening to me and I am blown away, I am grateful and my heart is open to the love.
Dave, thanks, because you were and are an inspiration...I used to think, how can I do what I want, which is to be a painter and writer, an artist, without using? How can I recover and still have my edge? Crazy questions, but it just shows how clouded my vision and thinking were...I am 100 % more excited about creating and have tons of ideas. I know, i sound like I am high!! HAHAHA! What can I say?
I am in a couple of different NA groups and most of the people are so cool. They do know all the crap you go through, they have been there themselves..
You and our great family here are certainly an inspiration...thanks SO much!
Claudinha
P.S. We should have a 6767.com family reunion...it would be so damn cool!

Hey Dave..
So sad about the cancelled Panic Channel show. Was really looking forward to it! Cant wait to hear you guys!
I've actually been listening to alot of Pink Floyd lately.. Wondering if you've seen the Roger Waters "In the Flesh" DVD. What do you think of Doyle Bramhall II??
Ran into you at the Bow a few weeks ago.. You were great and thanks for the autographs! Have a great Halloween weekend!!!!!!!!!

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the best band to come out of Atlanta in a LONG time is playing in and around LA for the next week or so, dropsonic. If you're in the area, PLEASE do yourself a favor and go see these guys! I promise, you won't be disappointed! Insane guitar work, thunderous bass action, and the drummer is just off the freakin' chain!

Dave,
I was looking at this picture before I had to take kids out trick or treating last night. It was a cold wet night, but somehow I had a warm and fuzzy feeling - I definitely had something to do with that picture . . .
So, are you going trick or treating? What costume do you plan to wear? Or are you staying home and passing out candy to the little beggars? Now if you were passing out kisses, I might have to put on my tinkerbell costume and fly to LA just to collect a few myself!
Always,
me

Kyle, it's always good to see you. You're as loveable as they come!
Last night was my turn to see Audioslave. Great show! I couldn't stop watching Tom tear up that guitar. And that's saying a lot because normally my eyes would be glued to Chris all night. The drummer kicks ass too! Really an awesome band. So much talent on one stage! It is always amazing to see the effortlessness behind the voice of Chris Cornell. God, I love that guy. The best was when I was five rows from him during his solo tour. I spent the whole time absorbing every detail of him. He looked gorgeous! He looks a little older now, but still yummy.
Seether was excellent too.
NIN on the 5th!

Hey kyle, nice to see you back

If it has an old school sound, it'll be a big hit. My son (13-year-old) "found" all of my old cassette tapes. All stuff I listened to when I was his age. And for the first time in all of his 13 years he said, "Dude, Ma! You had some sweet taste in music!"
Good luck with pulling it all together. I'm sure it'll be sweet, Dude. ;)

Dave, here's a little map of of where some of The Panic Channel fans lay themselves to sleep at night and rise to the sun in the morning. It's kinda cool. Hoping to get more people on there. It's still pretty new, so there's only a little something, something going on right now. Thought you might wanna check it out.

Hey Dave
Im the chick that asked you for advice about telling my parents about my sexuality a while back. Well, I took your advice and had a few therapy type sessions, talking about why I'm scared of teling them, and how I think they're gonna react.
I told them and they weren't over the moon, but now things are cool. They've accpected it and everythings great.
Thank you so much!!
I love you. Tak care of your beautiful self.
