Pretty Vegas

I'm rolling out to Vegas for about four hours today to take part in a business meeting. I'll try to update when I get home. It is going to be odd to be in Vegas for only a few hours, but then again, my emotional and spiritual condition can only do so many hours in a given month. I will, however, try to get a few hands in before I come home. Next week we are going to launch some new bells and whistles here as promoted on the new banner. I think I have this streaming video thing locked and I plan to broadcast some in studio stuff as well as dive deeper into the world of Internet radio. Since nothing else is going on right now, I would be happy to answer any questions you may want to throw my way.

Pekka - Welcome back.

Dave - Great to hear from you. So glad I checked in. :) Good luck with everything.

Here's a question from a few weeks ago. Can't hurt to try again...

?? How and when did you become such a film/TV buff? Does it simply come with the territory growing up in Tinseltown, or is there more to it?

I'm very interested in hearing the answer. Thx!

Love, luck, and good vibes to all,

Hello, Dave,

Have a great time in Vegas! When are you taking your trip - some much needed downtime - to Hawaii, wasn't it???

Any idea when we might get to purchase some new music from you? TPC? CF? Just wondered if you could give any updates.

Always,
me

Good Morning Dave!

Any closer to having an ETA on the Panic Channel cd???

Have a great day :D

Inviting questions? OK....
Please help settle a silly point of argument between my husband and me. Do you have a home gym, or go to a public one?
Good luck during your limited time in Vegas. I'm feeding my own poker habit this weekend, too.

Posted by: Elizabeth at October 7, 2005 08:31 AM

P.S. to Dave... As for only being able to handle a little bit of Vegas each month, I think that's quite understandable - and smart! For all the glitz and glamour, places like that can be quite draining.

Posted by: Denise at October 7, 2005 08:34 AM

I always hear/see in interviews the 90's male bands you loved... what about the ladies? I know PJ Harvey is on your list :)

Posted by: caughtalitesneeze at October 7, 2005 08:42 AM

Dave does Carmen use Myspace? I never know if I am reading a page from her or some psycho poser guy from parts unknown. What's the URL?

Posted by: Schwing at October 7, 2005 08:45 AM

Welcome back, I have a personal question, because it is, after all, all about MEEEEEE!!!
1. Will you be at the studio for my guest host gig on November 12th?
2.Can you bring some TPC music so I can play it during my gig?

ok, I know, that was two, but, what can I say!!
love,
jezzi(?)

Dave, I was wondering if you could fill us in on your workout and diet plans. Thanks.

Dave, not going to hang out and watch the Crue in Vegas tomorrow night??? Guess I will be on the look out for Matt.

Posted by: Brian at October 7, 2005 08:56 AM

Whats up Dave? Just bought my air tix to come see TPC in Nov...........looking extremely forward to it!! I'm actually going to a Suicide Girls event tonight in Charlotte NC.

Do you know Mark Schulman? He filled in on drums for Matt when he broke his wrist. I was telling him about TPC and I'm trying to bring him to the show. Hope you're well.........see ya soon.

Did you ever get your car back??

Posted by: Junebug at October 7, 2005 08:58 AM

Dave- At which time or point in your career (likely with JA) did it hit you that you had "made it"- as when you finally felt like a "rock-star" and not just another guy in another band..(?)

Still wondeing what happened to Carm in the new pussycat dolls video....i was extremely amped to see it, but it's not quite as good without her. Is she still part of the group, or whats going on?

Posted by: MOOYYAA at October 7, 2005 09:13 AM

Hey Dave:

You mentioned some time ago that there will be a gallery display of the photographs taken during the photo booth era. Is this still the plan? Where and when can we expect these?

i would also like to know when there would be new music from you?

Hey Dave, I kinda seem to share a lot of the same physical traits with you, and I have ancestry in the Navarre region of Spain, my grandmothers last name is Navarra, lots of basque blood if you will. Are we related?

Posted by: Dave at October 7, 2005 09:26 AM

OK, Dave, you asked for questions, so I’ll ask new ones and some I put in recently that may or may not have been lost in the long threads, ignore what you want!

New: Any plans to see INXS on the tour? Come to the NY show and do a song with them!!

What’s going on with the Photobooth tour? Did that fall by the wayside with all you have going on?

VERY IMPORTANT
1. Did Jerome Dillon play drums for you on Leno when you did Rexall? Also, who were the male and female that played too? Do you have video (I never saw this, just repeating what someone told me).

not so important
2. Why did the old dormant 6767.com go to a toy site? Any reason?

really none of my business but what the hell
3. Ever been casted by Cynthia Plaster Caster (or have any of your friends)?

Missed you, you should come play with us in the spiral, Noonie Chantelle is back!

Have a great day, everyone!
Hugs to SweetMelis, Jezzi, Claudinha, Oneidafish and all who need one.
Love,
Sue

As an avid smoker of Camel cigarettes, Filters mostly. I go through a few packs a week. Do you ever notice a difference in quality from pack to pack. Sometimes my cigarettes are nearly unsmokeable, sometimes they are great, have you noticed that, what Camels do you prefer?

Posted by: Dave at October 7, 2005 09:29 AM

Dave and Dave above me poster,

I don't smoke Camels but I've noticed some smokes do taste different on the pack or carton. Sometimes they even smell odd. I mean, not the usual cigarette smell..heh And I hate when you're smoking and you get a popper..one that likes makes a small explosion..lol Or I've had smokes that seem to have sticks and twigs in them..heh
or maybe that's something else. ;-)
Anyhow--me and my silly smoke talk.
Have a greta day all!

DAVE,

3 Questions:
¿Have you seen any good or bad movies lately?
¿Have you watched EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, MY NAME IS EARL or THE OFFICE and have an opinion on them?
¿If there is was a movie based on your life, which actor would you want to portray you?

Later,
Mike from NYC

I heard that the picture on the disc for Nirvana's "In Utero" was of a ex chili peppers guitar player. PLEASE do not be offended by this, but it's a guy dressed as a chick, in panties and everything, and it kinda looks like old-school you. Is it? You're the only ex guitarist that looks like the person in the picture.

dave i am truely worried that something has happened to you and that these updates are only made by one of your help, your eyebrow shaper perhaps, maybe you fell down a well or some kidnapper mistook you with your infinite shortness for a large headed child with felt tip on their face, i dont know, but it cant be you, you have products to promote and yet there is nothing.queer indeed. so ill ask you, daves former eyebrow shaper or back waxer or baldspot concealer or whoever you are, do you know anything of the nonexistent best of album or the even more non existent dvds?idve just reposted my preveious question if i could find it but you havent upated my dead page since the pic of little dave killing a little time was added, nice sunglasses tho, i had a pair like that, but they broke.hey all this talk of apparel makes me feel like i finally belong, too bad it only happened after the real dave disapeared forever but on a positive note at least the world will not be subjected to thewhino channel complete with sparkely troll like guitarist. mysterious ways.

Hey Dave,

Here's a few from August that never got answered.

You've played a ton of gigs...
1)Which gigs have totally blown you away?
2)Of the clubs/venues/arenas that you've played, are there any that you absolutely can't wait to play again?
3)Any places you wouldn't play again?
4)Any places you desperately want to play?

By the way, my little original/cover/bar band from Vancouver B.C. just got back from playing 3 gigs at "the most famous club in the world", The Cavern Club in Liverpool, England...an unforgettable experience! We also spent a week in London and while we were there my wife and I saw "We Will Rock You", this is the production that MiG left to do RS:INXS. We were hoping to see MiG there, but were relieved that he wasn't because that meant (at that time) that he was still on RS:INXS. Anyway dear people, if "We Will Rock You" ever visits your city/town, and if you're a Queen fan, you MUST see it! A great show!

One more thing. Gotta say that after reading this blog and watching TDDUP and RS:INXS, my respect for Dave is HUGE. It would be totally cool to just hang with ya and shoot the shit. Can I buy you a coffee?!

hey Dave
i was just wondering if you could give me advice. see my girlfriend just left for college about 2 months ago. i miss her alot and its been really hard for me because over the summer we were together everyday. i know she is the one for me but its hard because shes off at college and im a senoir in high school. i know we will last through everything because i gave her her freedom up at college (that kinda goes through the whole if you set something free and it comes back to you its your forever). i know she would never do anything to hurt me but i was just wondering how you deal with going on tour and being seperated from your wife for such a long time and go without seeing her? thank you

It's what prompted me to de-lurk!

I saw the RS:INXS link to your site here today. Of course it knocked your site out! I've been reading here since about mid-season of RS:INXS when someone linked it.

Honestly, dude, I thought you did a good job. Not perfect, but I'm not in the mood of criticising. Great job on Pretty Vegas! I mean that.

Hope all the other kids do well too, and that you don't forget them!

'you and i, up in the sky'....

anyone know if marty is going to have a cd out soon? marty was actually my favorite, but i knew jd sounded more like inxs..especially when they all sang their own songs. pretty vegas fits the inxs sound...i can't wait to buy the new cd. pretty vegas better be on it though!

Mike from NYC mentioned "The Office"....
If you've watched them, which do you prefer, the American or British version?

I thought Ricky Gervais gave a more realistic performance as office manager in the British version.
