Out Takes
So yes, the Camp Freddy Show tomorrow is closed to the public. It's a private party for the Sundance Channel. What do you think the chances of Robert Redford showing up are? Also, I think the Vegas show is a closed event too. Oh well, there will always be more shows. I will fill you all in as to who was there, what we played and post an image or two. Today is another day in the studio with TPC for guitar overdubs. If there is a connection in the studio, I will more than likely do a live webcast from there this week. This time with some audio. I will of course, post when this will happen. It turns out that over 500 people tuned in to our last one from CFR. I finally got all the out take image scans from the DTTAH project and have been sifting through them for the art show. Damn! What a time that was. There are some pretty amazing shots that didn't make it into the book.

Hey dave...any idea as to when the new record will be out? Also what do u think of the way INXS made JD's Pretty Vegas song lame. when he played it on the RockStar show it was dark and sort of heavy....now its lighter and more dancy. I dunno man.

I can now stand up (just), I finally managed to download the podcast with Dave & Carmen (& still haven't stopped laughing!), I'm first AND I've finally managed to order DTTAH. Today is a good day - smiley faces are back ;-)
Now 6.30pm here in the UK and I'm off to get me some food - morning to everybody out there and I hope your day proves to be as good as mine has been x

Dave, where, and when is the DTTAH art show?
Posted by: ylais at October 18, 2005 10:31 AM
Hi Dave, hi all,
Hope your day is going well. There's nothing like sifting through old photos, reminiscing about good times and bad, thinking about where you've been and where you're going. It really puts things into perspective. I can only imagine the many feelings that Dave must be feeling right now, looking at those infamous photos.
I'm excited at the prospect of seeing them in an exhibit, and getting to hang out with some of you again. I'm crossing my fingers.
Still a little bummed about having missed CFR, but I plan to check out everyone's screenshots at some point.
All the best,

Hey Dave,
Any thoughts about Mark McGrath saying Camp Freddy's album is gonna be "hitting stores soon" on Extra this weekend? Have you guys even started working on it yet? I thought he was jumping the gun a little bit when I saw it, so I decided to come right to the source! ;)
Hope everyone here has a wonderful day. Im off to go shopping in the dirty ass capital of California!
Love, Amber :)

500 viewers that's kool! The good thing about the webcast was it 'flowed' if you check out the webcasts they have on virgin radio, they sort of do them in 5 second or 10 second bits...so you get stunted movements. Great webcast. Hope there'll be more to come!

Hey every1, I finally got 2 listen 2 all of CFR (drove 2 Arcadia on Sat) & the moon Q. was answered-Dave answered the popular Q. "Any Ink on that ass?" :)ck

Hiya Everyone and Dave,
I just took a look at more photos taken from the CFR webcast and saw that Dave did in fact get my 2nd letter that I believe I sent back in August. The one he held up to the cam that was a drawing was in fact the one I did.
Now it is funny because I wonder if he just got all 3 of them sent over 4 months on this past Saturday. I hope I don't come off as a creepy person, But I did send 3 letters in a 4 month period.
Dave I am glad to see though you did get at least one of them, and may have one more if you haven't seen it already. I hope that you didn't get all 3 at once and get creeped out.
Oh yeah I called the doc and they haven't got my test results back yet but hopefully tomorrow. Have a great week everyone. :)

Jezzi, Im sorry you're feeling down, but just keep telling yourself that it can only get better from here on out. I'm very proud of both you guys for all you've been doing. It's most likely the hardest thing you've ever done. You can both feel free to email me anytime if you wanna talk to someone. My thoughts are with you both.

Dave, I listend to last weeks CFR and I gotta say: your English accent is getting better, keep it up x

I'm afraid I can't take credit for the comment re Pretty Vegas - I haven't managed to hear it here in the UK yet (am just streaming a small section on ITunes as I type!).
I can't understand why they will have changed it though - the original was really good. And Dave's guitar playing when he joined JD onstage was absolutely awesome.
OMG - just heard the small section - they have totally wimped it!!!!! Sounds ok but MUCH prefer the original - too clean and its lost that raw edge that it had when JD sang it on Rock Star.
Damn - Pretty Vegas wrecked, just found out that DTTAH won't arrive for 2 weeks and it's persisting with rain here (not the nice type, just dark, cold and horrible so none of that sidewalk washing stuff!). This is not a good start to today - can I go back to yesterday please?
That's it - am on my way out the door and Abba is coming with me! Sorry guys but with a day that starts like this I need some cheese in my car to raise a smile (altogether now - Chicken Tikka you will never know .......) ;-)
Posted by: Miffy at October 19, 2005 01:50 AM
Dave - had cool idea while driving. How about Rock Star Abba!!!!! That would be so funny - takes irony to a whole new level ;-)
Am back, sun is shining again, my back is the best it has been all week (see, chocolate IS medicinal), I have the afternoon off work so I can go and play with my nephews and I now have an image of Dave driving around in his Hummer, steering wheel drumming to Does Your Mother Know!
Smiley faces definitely back :-) Today is going to be a good day after all x

Popping in to say hi. Haven't been around much...business and what-not.

Not much else to say. Love to all!

Hi Dave,
I was just wondering to what extent your time away from jane's, doing One Hot Minute and your solo stuff, affected your playing style on Strays? How would you describe your old style to your current style? I think your 88-91 stuff was more scattershot and tortured sounding whereas now it appears more ploished ans slick. What are your thoughts?
Cheers.
Mike.

Bit of a wierd question here, Dave. Someone on the Red Hot's message board said that you were going to record an album with John Frusciante, but then Perry told him that the woman who was organising the project had broken into John's house and defaced some artwork of his, and the thing was called off. True or WTF?

"This buquat is the gumaad of a mul n yan, can you imagine kissing the gumaad of a mul n yan." Not politically correct but this is about all the Italian you can learn through season 5 of the Sopranos. I cant wait to learn some more from grams in the nursing home! Dave are you Italian? You ever watch those series? Have you experienced the Lord of the Rings yet? Do you take any recommendations from your fans?

Hi Dave & Fam,
Still cleaning up after the flood this weekend, the fire dept. had to help pump us out (a foot of water in the basement and garage, luckily we have a high ranch) even though we had 2 pumps going for 48 hrs straight. Salvaged most (especially the drums/guitars/amps/equipment from the music room) from our basement/garage…anyway…guess that's why my road is called Pondview...
Dave! How ‘bout a nice friendly (OK, competitive) game of Texas Hold ‘Em when you visit with the photo booth show for your faithful 67’ers? You ARE going to be there, right? Also, please post when/where ASAP. Thanks!
Saw Foo Fighters and U2 last week, 2 great shows. NIN coming up, anyone going to MSG?
Have a great day everyone!

Hi Dave,
Your going to love this...if you havent seen it already. It's a reality television show from the Netherlands called "SPUITEN OF SLIKKEN" which translates as Inject and swallow...Basically they do all kinds of drugs (and sex) for the purpose of television...here's this weeks episode where one of the guys racks up a few lines....The best of it is about 10 minutes in.

Enjoy...

Ok, so I spent another 2 hours downloading the last CFR show and the same thing happened again - the show got as far as the end of the quotes regarding Tom Cruise and then won't play any more. Does anybody have any clues? I managed to download the previous show without any problem so just don't get it.
Does this mean I am going to have to download it about another 7 or 8 times and get an extra 10 minutes each time?
Anybody else have the same problem? Anybody know how to fix it? Is the end of the show any good and worth persisting with?
Aaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh - driving me insane!
And will try again with my other annoying query - does Lost get any better? I am getting really bored with Series 1 and just want to know whether it's worth continuing with.

Totally unconnected to DN - obviously I'm just having a bad computer day today!
I just received an Instant Message via AOL from some guy - as I'm always interested in who is sending me messages and referring to me as Cutie I tried to click on his ID to find out more info but somehow managed to close the message instead - Doh! Anybody got any clues as to how I get it back or find out who it was as I am now intrigued?
Just thought - I'm assuming it was a guy?!!

Hey Dave...Just wondering if you've been approached to be involved with the second season of Rock Star yet? I hear it will be "Rock Star: Van Halen" (according to MTV).
Posted by: Jamie Greer at October 20, 2005 07:44 AM
Good morning!
^^RS VH, eh? That would be pretty cool.^^
I finally got to listen to the first part of last week's CFR, the big ABBA debate. Funny stuff. I can see both sides, because many of their songs have been played to death and thus have become sorta cheesy/corny... but I'm still a fan. In fact, Dave inspired me to listen to my husband's ABBA Gold CD (which I 'borrowed' ages ago) in my car on the way to work. Was rocking out to my faves, "Mamma Mia", "Lay All Your Love on Me" and "Voulez Vous"... and now they'll be stuck in my head all day. Which is a good thing. :)
Sue - Good luck with the basement. That's too bad about flooding. Thankfully we're OK so far. (For those of you who don't know, Sue and I live a few towns away from one another!) Enjoy NIN... I forgot all about it. But I AM going to DM at MSG on 12/7 with my whole 'posse'. Yay. I'll be in touch about that soon.
Have a fabulous day, everyone.
Love,
