1. Will the TPC show Nov 5th be broadcast either live, Podcast, or replayed on the radio?

Good idea. I think that will all depend upon the quality of the recording, as well as the quality of our performance!

2. Dave, who would you rather be stuck in an elevator with: Anthony Kiedis or Trent Reznor?

Well, since I am already close to Anthony, I would have to say him. It would simply be a more comfortable situation.

3. Any idea if you'll be in Vegas Oct 19-23?

I believe there is a Camp Freddy show on the 22nd, but I will have to get confirmation.

4. Can you speak about the rumor that CFR will be on TWO nights a week, a Thursday broadcast?

I would love to speak about that rumor, but I haven't heard it until now. Looking into that as well.

5. Hey Dave, do you think you will ever put the "Spread" or "Rhimorse" CD's in Shop 13?

Yet another great idea from the 67 family. Lemme think about it.

An official Spread and Rhimorse release would be amazing.

But would you go with the originally intended artwork, or use something else?

you know, i am impressed. i am new to this site, and i have posted a few random i love daves..blah, blah, blah. this is the first time today i have checked the new messages tonight, and dave has actually responded to some of the questions. this blows my mind. yeah, i know this is his site, and he does update it often, but i did not really expect him to answer questions so soon. i have been going to the NIN website for a long time and trent doesn't answer his fan's questions like this. granted, he is touring (and doing it really well...i will miss it this time, my first time to miss it since i started listening to him in the early 90's..) but even when he wasn't touring he was never this prompt. so i guess all my babbling boils down to this: thank you dave for taking the time out of your hetic, crazy, busy life to talk to your fans! you have almost replaced trent as my demi-god. (which no one has come close to in almost 15 years now)

will rock star come out on DVD? i know i would buy it.

Hi Dave :)

It would be great if you could confirm the next CF date. And perhaps the one after that? lol....

Also, wondering what you think of original bands changing members, either after one dies, and/or they just kick a member out, and continue. This does not stem from INXS believe it or not. There was an article in the NY Times about this. Is it still a genuine band, as its not the original incarnation of the members? Discuss amongst yourselves....maybe a good CFR topic?

Claudinha...be strong...I know it isn't easy. I feel there is usually a point when you just know you want to take a break, stop, etc. That's the best time to do it. But you have to be ready, no matter what others may tell you this or that. Sending you some calming, positivity :)

Hey Dave,

Just got the 6767 shirt in the mail today...and it's awesome! Who designed it? I know it's BC Ethic, but, if you're legally allowed to say, was it any particular person? It looks perfect with blue jeans or leather pants; as I'm sure was intended being as it IS a Dave Navarro shirt. :)

Hope all is well. Take care everyone!

Thanks.

Posted by: maverick at October 3, 2005 10:39 AM

Claudinha, please stay strong. I hope I didn't sound too harsh the other day...I just found out my boyfriend is still, or has gone back to, however you'd like to phrase it, using. which means lying and all the other fun stuff that comes along with it. This is about my 4th go around in the last year. I am speaking from a broken heart, and only wish the best for those who struggle with this horrible disease. But, sometimes the pain on this side, I can imagine is just as intense as the fight on your side. Please stay strong and lean on who you need to lean on. I wish he would. In the end it is up to you, but I know you can do it. I am here if you need an ear, shoulder whatever.

Was rehashing the Camp Freddy show with friends I went with and wanted to give special props to "EXTRA's own Mark McGrath" for belting out Cat Scratch Fever and Pretty Vacant. We recalled looking at each other when he finished and saying "that was pretty fricken good!" The decision to throw Let's Go Crazy in the setlist was also a very pleasant surprise.
The big question remains, Why no Van Halen?

Posted by: Digger at October 3, 2005 12:23 PM

Dave, please please please keep us posted on CF in Vegas-the wheres and the whens. How exciting! Also, I have always wondered... How could someone traveling out of state to see a show get or reserve a ticket in advance. It would suck to get to the final destination and not be able to see the show. I worry about things like this, bear with me.

Claudinha, and everyone else out there struggling you are NOT alone.
How about a big ol' family huddle and I'm not kidding. I'm going to need some real big support thoughts coming my way this weekend. Someone who has been like a mother to me is dying and not at peace with it AT ALL and I am planning to spend some very difficult alone time with her. May chicken out and go home when the rest of the family does because she is despondent and often hysterical. But I will have another 45 years or so to live with MYself and I want to be at peace so here goes......

now that "RockStar INXS" is over, i am sure that you have some additional time on your hands.. so i just wanted to let you know that you can now feel free to give me a call anytime..

anytime..

my boyfriend said it's ok.. ;)

you know, we saw you in december 2003 right before jane's addiction blew up.. and i tell ya, i was getting pretty T.O.'d with perry upstaging you.. i think he knew at that time that you were THE hot one in the band, and he just couldn't stand the fact that all the girls (and boys, for that matter) were watching every move you made..

i'm glad you have moved on, and i do realize you have been a busy, busy boy.. so i understand the lack of communication on your part..

One of the tabloid newspapers here in the UK printed a picture of Carmen today at some style awards. The paper namechecked you,but refered to you as "the guitar player from Jane's Addiction".Does it piss you off that you get called that now? Would you prefer "Guitarist from Panic Channel",or even "Rockstar:INXS host"?

Hmm, I can't get to Steve's link anymore, but the Panic Channel web address is now steveisaacs.com

There is a banner, Dave, on your home page, advertising links to webcast, streaming radio and video, podcasts, etc.

Billy's site has undergone an amazing transformation over the past few days.

Indie 103.1 site now boasts all kinds of goodies, d.j. blogs, etc.

So, my question is, Is this all a strange coincidence, or is LOOP taking over the world?, one ROCKSTAR at a time, lol

I heard that the picture on the disc for Nirvana's "In Utero" was of a ex chili peppers guitar player. PLEASE do not be offended by this, but it's a guy dressed as a chick, in panties and everything, and it kinda looks like old-school you. Is it? You're the only ex guitarist that looks like the person in the picture.

DAVE - FYI RENE RUSSO IS ON LENO THIS FRIDAY

Posted by: MissMaceo at October 5, 2005 11:55 AM

Dave, are you feeling a little down? In case you are, just remember that (1) you are the hottest motherfucker out there, and (2) your life still rules compared to probably 90% of the general population.

Hi Creepy! Hope you're doing well, you crazy bastard.

Claudinha, Jezzi, I've got 15 years C&S so if you need to yak, been there, walked the walk. Give me an email, I'm happy to share.

BTW...anyone know how Matt's hand is doing He said it was swollen up big time on CFR.

dave--you know that we all totally agree with dana right?

marty/jd song...i don't really care who helped write it, i kind of can't belive that marty helped because jd liked to work alone most of the time, but if he did, then kudos to him. I JUST WANT IT TO COME OUT ON DISC SOON!! It is a really good song and i can't get it out of my head.

for that matter i would love to have marty's TREES as well!! i can't download them from the rockstar site b-cuz my computer sucks.

for all of you that have issues right now....hang in there!!! it has to get better, right? claudhina--how are you doing, still sober? jezzi what about you? if you both are--go celebrate. you have earned it. also, it just gets easier as time goes on. if you have slipped, well just start over. it is okay. keep trying, it will happen.

can't wait for the next pictures from you wendybird!!!

Dave, I have a question.. I went to your non profit links and I think what you have there is admirable to say the very least. however.. On the CureAutism now link I noticed they have a " Clothes off our back Auction" for celebrites...
I didn't see anything from you in there? Sadly as well ... cause I would have love to bid on it. just a thought something for You and Carmen would no doubt bring a high bid for a wonderful cause.

have a lovely evening all.

I just need to take a second to express how yummy the BC Ethic shirts are in Shop 13. I swear, these are the most awesome shirts I have ever owned. Straight out of the package they feel "broken in" and the cut is just so perfect.

Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Not spreading my shirts, no way, no how,

DEENA!!! I was just thinking about you, and to the rest of my family, thanks for the kind words, Kate, my love, be careful what you ask for, I might take you up on it. Quitting drinking HAS to be the hardest thing I have EVER done, it's everywhere, you know, I mean, I walk into homes, bars, you name it, and somebody puts a drink in my hands within 30 seconds, at least with drugs, you'd get SOMETHING comped, but you'd eventually have to pay, and people don't realize that drinking is even an issue, they just assume if you have a drinking problem, you're an obvious drunk...well, I guess it's like being functionally illiterate, or something..a

anyway, sorry again Dave, but YOU aren't posting, so BLEH!!, just kidding, see, I'm not even FUNNY when I'm sober,

jezzi(completely, utterly, lonely, not even a bottle to drown my sorrows in(

Posted by: jezebel at October 5, 2005 06:31 PM

Hang in there Jezzi and Claudhina...I am keeping you both in my thoughts! I know what you're going through and it's true what everyone keeps saying, it only gets better!

Dave,

I saw a very disturbing dream of you having sex with Carmen in my local movie theater last night. Afterwards i talked to you and you gave me this really cool hat. What is this all about?

Posted by: Saxophonist at October 6, 2005 07:37 AM

Just received this e-mail from my uncle and decided to share - sorry it is so long, believe it or not I've actually shortened it! The line about taking your breath away I put into a card when my best friends baby was born - it makes me all nostaligic remembering it. Enjoy :-)

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions. "How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half.

You get into your teens. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead. "How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . . you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . . . YOU BECOME 21! . YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50. But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60. You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday! You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92."

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them "

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and learn to move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8.Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

9. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

As for me - I've had to learn to live with number 6 as a result of which 4, 5, 8 and 9 have become the rules by which I now live my life. May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half x

My Uncle told me that the two best things in life, are taking your shoes off when you get home, and having sex. That's my favourite Uncle. (Uncle Michael. His last name is Jackson. He's a nuclear physicist)

Posted by: ylais at October 6, 2005 08:52 AM

Hey Dave

Got my 6767 T-Shirt today. Must say.. Looks great dude but the xl shirt is tight in the arms. Must be a difference between Canadian and American Xl. Otherwise awesome.

Take care Dave

Rob (Winnipeg)

Posted by: Rob at October 6, 2005 09:08 AM

Ok - I just had hysterics at the idea of Michael Jackson being a nuclear physicist (no idea why!). Unfortunately I had a mouthful of blackcurrent squash at the time! Do you think my pooter flat screen is going to mind? Good news is that it appears to be really good at cleaning the screen!!!

Perfect end to a VERY long day ;-)

Rob, that's actually one of the things I thought was so great about the shirt... I ordered the regular shirts, not the womens' cut, and the sleeves fit awesome. They're not big and baggy like most concert shirts are on me. The sleeves are cut smaller than other shirts, so for me they're just right. I can see how they may be too tight on a guy though.

Spreading the love for my shirts,
Deena

Hey Dave and all members of the community!

It's been loooong since my last post. I've followed what's been going on in here, though. Just wanted to let everyone know (and maybe acknowledge to myself) that I'm still here. It seems Dave's really busy with the TPC album's recording at the moment. Good! I hope (and I'm sure) it'll turn out as good as I expect.

Also, it's nice to see that SweetMelis, ylais, jezzi and all the other long-time members are still posting on regular basis. Missed you all!

Wishing everyone a good weekend! Peace out!
