(Thanx to FreAk for the image.)

1. I'll be in LA next month and I'm wondering where a good place to play cards is.

I tend to favor the Hustler Casino in Gardena.

2. When you have the large blind...how much does that influence your decision to play a hand?

It depends on what I am holding. If everyone just calls, of course I take a look at the flop. If I have something like 2/7 off and there is a raiser, I just dump it. If I have a premium hand like JJ, QQ, KK, AA, AK and there is a raiser, I'll re-raise. Then again, every once in a while, if there are only a few callers and I have rags, I might re-raise and try to steal. This tells the table that even though I could see a free flop, I am so strong that I am re-raising. Naturally this can back fire so I make sure I have a sense of my opponents. They could be slow playing a monster. If the table just calls and I have a marginal hand like J10, I'll just check as a simple check on a hand like that can occasionally pay off. You never know when you are gonna see a JJ10 or a QKA flop, and if you can see it for free, it's the best way to do it. If I am in the small and the table folds/checks, I almost always complete the bet, depending on the hand and the blinds, to see a flop. Of course, these rules aren't "the way" as each table has it's own feel. I do watch out for when I get a free flop holding 9 10 suited and the flop is 9 J A. Even though I have paired up for free, there are two over cards and I should dump the 9's. What sucks is when the turn comes and it's a 9. Hey, it happens...

3. Where is CF playing in Vegas on the 22nd?

We are playing at The Empire Ballroom. I am not certain if it is open to the public or not. I'll have to look into it. If not, I am sure Billy and I can give some tickets away next Saturday on CFR.

4. Would you ever do an instrumental album?

I doubt it, unless it was for a film score or soundtrack. I like instrumental pieces of work, but a whole album would get boring for me. I like songs too much.

5. Given your history of substance abuse, do you feel it's appropriate to endorse hard liquor?

When I drink my life falls apart, but there are millions of people out there who can drink and don't destroy their lives. It just doesn't work for ME, so I choose to not drink. If others can do it responsibly, then good for them. Just my take on it.

6. Is it difficult working with musicians who use chemicals or do you try to find those that are safer to be around?

Not really anymore. For a while I had to stay away from the scene, but now it's just a reminder of how I don't want to live my life when I see it. Plus, it's not like people are shooting up around me... ever.

7. Do you have any polar bear material? If so what do you think.

What I have heard I have liked a lot. Eric really is a genius.

8. What's going on in the Studio with TPC?

Steve is in with Josh Abraham finishing up his vocals, lyrics and guitar parts. I am starting up again next week to hopefully close up my parts. The new recordings are sounding great. I think that all the time we have taken has really been worth it as we have been able to really become dialed in terms of what our sound is.

9. Can you clear up the Marilyn Manson blowjob part as well?

I was just trying to out-shock him. Guess what? I did! I never had any intention of following through. Had he called my bluff, he would have won the "who can shock who more" game. So as it stands, Navarro 1, Manson 0.

10. We were wondering, any chance of getting Dave Grohl to join ya on CFR?

He always has a standing invitation.

"What sucks is when the turn comes and it's a 9. Hey, it happens..." No kidding...I had about $2,000 in on a hand and got beat when I had 3 10's (got beat by a straight)....really shook me up for a minute! lol

Thanks so much for your perspective...it helps, and I respect your skill level. I'm playing another one in about 3 weeks and I really need to be a bit more focused and not be sitting there debating myself quite so much about which way to go!

Have a great day, Dave!

Hey Dave! I hope to hearing or seeing you and Carmen somewhere in the near future. I've been looking in magazines and on Tv schdules and I'm getting upset. haha I saw Hawthorne Heights last night, they're good... I like them. What do you think of them? Have a nice dayy!

Yeah a new post. Hey Dave, how about a seasonal album???? Rudolf or Frosty?????

Always,

I see you are a fan of Lost too!! There are those creepy numbers. I love it!!

Posted by: laurieg23 at October 13, 2005 10:50 AM

Hi Dave:

Thank's for the new post....it's sad...but I kinda look forward to them....hmmmm...we'll discuss my need for a hobbie some other time =)

I believe I remember you stating that you recently finished watching the first season of Lost on DVD. Being that you are spending some time at home, are you watching/DVR'ing the new season? Highly recommended...

Have a great day loco,
Carolina

Posted by: Carolina at October 13, 2005 11:17 AM

See? And here I thought those were today's Lotto numbers. :)

Seriously, though, it's always nice to see a new post, along with cool artwork. I hope all is well.

And I hope all of you on the East Coast are staying warm and dry and, most of all, safe. Is this rain ever going to let up? If rain washes memories off the sidewalks of life, as Woody and Dave like to say, then we surely have amnesia by now!

Love and little umbrellas,

Hi Dave!
I saw Audioslave in concert this past weekend. It was amazing.Chris Cornell has the best voice in music, don't you think? I was wondering what you think of Tom Morello? He has such a frenetic style of playing.

Hey Dave, speaking of the Manson blowjob incident, any chance of posting that photo of Manson licking your nipples? The one you showed to MTV News during that time while mock-singing "the beautiful nipple, the beautiful nipple"?

Probably not, but, always best to ask. That whole incident was pretty fuckin funny. :)

Hope everyone's doing well here. Stay dry New Yorkers! :)

Peace!

I swear I am just moist thru and thru (and not in the good way!) this rain is just getting on my nerves. I live 50 + miles from my job and boyfriend and pretty much my whole life, and it makes for a crappy commute to my life. Wait, that sounds like a metaphor.
Hope everyone has someone to cuddle up and stay dry with, or dance around the in the rain with. which ever you prefer.
nice to hear from you dave,

always great to hear from you, compa. and i am especially digging the poker perspective.

can't wait to hear the new tracks and the album (duh!). i was good friends with todd and lisa in this little band from dallas and i saw firsthand how frustrating it can be hearing everyone ask you about the new album. better than them not asking, i s'pose.

late.

Speaking of soundtracks have you ever been approached about doing one? How is the sorting through the photo's from the photobooth going? Any chance of them being put into a book of their own with stories behind them?

just wanted to say hello dave! it is good to hear from you...i would love to see your pictures of manson licking your nipples....(evil grin)

i have pictures of manson when he came here to oklahoma city once (i shouldn't have these pictures but i do-at least somewhere in my bottomless pit of a photo box)he was pretending to give head to a statue.

i seem to be good about having pictues that i should not have..i also have a playgirl that was not supposed to hit the stands because the actor and his girlfriend had not given permission, and then sued.

so dave, do you want to come to oklahoma so that i can get some pictures of you that i shouldn't have?

i wish i lived in or near the cool cities so that i could go see a show. such is life. okay 67 group have a great evening..i get to study for my anatomy test tomorrow. (yeah me)

Hey Dave,
Being a total LOST fan myself. What do you think will happen if they don't push the "button"? I personally don't think anything will happen. It's a huge psychological warfare idea. Being a past student of psychology,it's all about the B.F. Skinner box. Operant Conditioning at it's best. The show is doing a fantastic job with the idea. Humans instead of rats. Anyways, I just had to ask from one fan of the show to another.

Remember everyone keep music in our schools and support the arts.

Hey Dave, I followed the Rockstar INXS religiously and was totally rooting for fellow Canadian J.D.

I was just wondering if you felt as though the band made the right decision and who you would have picked if not J.D.

You may have answered these questions already but I am relatively new to your blog...so please excuse my Canadian Blondness.

Posted by: Ashley at October 13, 2005 08:35 PM

Wolfspider..Walden Two?

My opinion is that LOST is Jungian in nature. Dreams, flashbacks, archetypes, self-actualisation (perhaps? is that why they are there? could look at it that way), elements of Eastern religions.

But, the hatch, well that could have something to do with Behaviourism. Lost is full of different and seemingly contradictory theories, religions, ethics,
philosophies.

Greetings, and thankyou for answering the question Dave baby! You know now, I can't but hope you sweet folks at CF will schedule some nice intimate public shows this winter. :D

Please, pretty please.....well I'm sure if us cute female fans were to parade around like Suicide Girls and have a Royal Flush hanging out our shorts you'd consider it.

I'm not a huge card player, though I enjoy it from time to time. But I always found that it's a 50/50 thing. You know, 50% you gotta know your game and 50% body language and nonverbal cues, and pure intuition. So, you would be the clever one in playing devils advocate and waiting for everyone to fold. ha ha....

Hi Dave!

First off, just wanted to say one thing about this ABB-thing. It has always amazed me that the group made a bigger brakethrough everywhwere else in the world, than it did here in Sweden. For example England seems to be absolutely crazy about them, still.......

And here mostly gay people listen to them. I suppose it´s all the glitter and gala that does it for them. Never been a fan myself.

And the second thing.....no one seems to be the least chocked by the blow-job on Manson. What shocked me the most was: DAVE, man.....could you not have picked a better looking guy to do it on? Johny Depp, maybe....? Ahh, sweet dreams....

God....I´m turning into a pervo.....

Anyway...that´s all...
Take care, and love always

just correcting a few things....that was of course ABBA....and YES, god damn it...I haven´t had sex in a looooong time. Maybe that explains some things.

Well, now that I've read your answer to Manson thing, I wanna read Whores.

With that, would you consider yourself bi-sexual at any point in time of your life? Or would you say you were more like experiencing?

Hi,........Honest to God this is the first time I have ever written a celebrity. I am old enough to be your Momma and but I have always been a fan.I became aware of you when you were with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. That's right mom is a closet rocker lol....I saw the reality thing you and Carmen did for your wedding etc, and I just thought you were so sweet and anxious to please the one you loved. I was very touched by that. I also watched Rockstar/INXS faithfully. What an experience that must of been for those people. Well time to get back to earning a living. Just wanted to let you know that someone out here saw many different sides to you. The most important being the man inside of you......LT

Ashley,

Very good point about the Jungian theories. I am usually not one to get into the meat of a show like this one. I only put the Skinner vs. the "button" idea together. But I like your ideas on the other front. Would make sense. I am sure there is some Frued in there too LOL. I have dealt with the behaviourist theories in my career, so I tend to gravitate towards them. But the trasendentalists *sp* got it going on too. I don't know if Dave will answer my question, but hey it's all good to keep the mind working.

Just got Ticketmasters notice about the INXS tickets going on sale this Sunday for their LA show in January. You gonna be there? Do we get to see you take the stage w/ INXS at all maybe?

Okay where can I find this book called 'Whores'? i now too want to read it. but i thought the way he answered that question was that he was never going to give manson head. he did it for shock value only. am i missing something because a couple of people are asking about his sexual orientation now...

jezzi, claudhina are you guys doing okay? you guys haven't posted in a day or so...that is unusual.

Since we seem to be on the subject of Manson today, I have a random question for Dave:

We all know you are a movie buff and Manson is your boy, so I going to assume you have you seen "Party Monster". I was curious to know what your opinion is of his movie performance/role, the portrayal of the movie itself and the whole true life story behind it. How you viewed it thru the eyes of old Dave and new Dave. Thanks in advance.
