Back To Work

Today I am headed back into the studio with the TPC guys to lay down some guitars on the record. Those guys have been hard at work putting together some slammin rhythm tracks and vocals. This is actually my favorite way to head in as most of their work is done and I get to add my parts, sit back and basically listen to a finished (unmixed) song. The Camp Freddy show (Sponsored by BC Ethic and Indie 103.1) is just around the corner. We will be broadcasting a live Camp Freddy Radio from 7pm-8pm direct from the venue. NINE.COM (Gaming Site) has offered to match whatever funds we raise for The American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief.

I had a great time in Vegas, although I am still recovering. Two nights of getting to sleep at 7:00am don't really do my spiritual and physical condition very well. My friend Greg and I played a lot of poker at the Palms Casino and we both did very well. For those of you who were able to catch my quick Webcast from my room, thank you for helping make that dream possible. I will try to cast again from the studio this week. Here is a quick Vegas run down:

Friday: Rokbar Night at Pure, Palms Casino Ghost Bar, Drais, Poker at The Palms
Saturday: Poker at the Palms, Dinner at NINE, Scores Grand Opening, Poker at the Palms
Sunday: Sore Throat

nice run down of the weekend, dave. was it a coincidence that you were in vegas when scores was openining?

stupid question for you, when you go to a place like drai's, do they comp you stuff once you're inside or do they make you pay just like everyone else? just wondering.

congrats on the poker winnings and especially on the tracks that are coming together. hell yeah.

peace.

Posted by: rxs at September 27, 2005 09:42 AM

Hey Dave and all,
It is cool that they have been taking over since you have been so busy and I can't wait to hear the album.

I think it is great that NINE.com is matching whatever you raise. You will have to tell us how much you guys raised if you can.

Also I thought the Vegas trip was a mini vacation. Sounded like fun but I don't think you should have to recover from a vacation. More like the trip was a party type trip.

Hope I get to catch the webcam from the studio. Have a nice day everyone and Dave take it easy and drink tea with honey (that always helps me).

Here's to laying down the most energetic, dynamic, mind-blowing, innovative, ethereal, exploratory, bone-crushing, mind-expanding, spine-shattering, jaw-dropping, journey-taking and downright Badass licks you can possibly muster. Go kick some ass today, Bro!

dave-
so sorry to hear that after sucha nice weekend, that you have a nasty sore throat. Take care of yourself!!

:)

Posted by: karrie at September 27, 2005 10:21 AM

Feel better sweetie! Doesn't hurt that Carmen can be the prettiest nurse around! I'm sure she'll take great care of you!

You didn't mention anything about new ink? Did you get a new tattoo??

Posted by: Tammi at September 27, 2005 10:24 AM

Dave,
We are a natural remedy family. Mostly due to the fact that we have to be careful what medications we give our girls because of the autism - even OTC medication can make them take a nose dive and we end up at the ER.

Chamomile tea works wonder on a sore throat.

We also do the lemon and honey, but add sage to it.

Hope you feel better soon.

Posted by: Amanda at September 27, 2005 10:34 AM

heya family

hope you all having a great day!

dave, really looking forward to hearing TPC songs! a lot of anticipation here!
dave, i was curious, how did you meet/get together with good ol' Chris Chaney?

kyle

Posted by: Kyle at September 27, 2005 10:35 AM

As a nurse I have to say... Strep throat is going around so keep a close eye on it. More than likely though it's do to lack of sleep and too much FUN! Get some rest and drink plenty of fluids. The Chamomile tea sounds like a great idea as well.

Posted by: Darby at September 27, 2005 10:51 AM

ok, do you think Dave's sore throat is cold and flu related, or do you think it's a combination of cigarettes and yelling " IN DA HOUSE" at his various ventures...PURE is a pretty loud club, as was, I am sure, SCORES!!!

The Palms IS Vegas, baby!!

jezzi(glad you and Greg had fun!!)

Posted by: jezebel at September 27, 2005 10:59 AM

Greetings, all!

Dave, hope you had fun in Vegas. Sorry to hear that you're under the weather. Take it easy, drink some tea, have some chicken soup (wish I could make some for ya!), eat something with garlic (great for the immune system), take your multivitamins. Not to mention a good workout to sweat out all that bad stuff.

Feel better and best of luck in the studio!

All the best,

Posted by: Denise at September 27, 2005 11:56 AM

Too funny Jezzi! My vote is on "a combination of cigarettes and yelling "IN DA HOUSE" ' (and probably "DATS HOW WE ROLL" =)

Sad to say that I missed the web cast. I hope to catch the next one. My question is where and when will the link be posted?

And though I would love to be able to make it to the CFR show, alas, distance and a lack of funds has gotten the best of me. I hope that once the TPC record is released you will head my way and show all of us exhiled down here in Florida some love!

Mucho amor, loco.
Carolina

Posted by: Carolina at September 27, 2005 11:56 AM

Carolina,
I hope the same thing, but let's face it, there really isn't any great place in Northwestern Wisconsin to play. And our casinos are no where near the caliber of Vegas :)

Posted by: Amanda at September 27, 2005 12:02 PM

Hey Dave,
Glad that ya had a great time. Sore throat huh? Well, there's been a few good suggestions here for that, but being a Kentucky gal here, nothing like moonshine and honey...hehe...hell, if it doesn't help the throat, it'll least help ya to sleep ;-)
Seriously tho, for my kids sore throats(whether it's due to vocal strains or a cold/flu etc)...popsicles and plenty of rest helps alot.

Have a good day

I've started going out with one of them, so how do I tell the other one (that swears he's in love with me) that I feel the same, only about someone else? He's really sweet and gentle and I don't wanna break his heart. From a man's point of view, how would you like to be told this? Thanx

"A singing must" for my occasional sore throat is... "Thayers Slippery Elm Lozenges". Found at the health food store.
(prized by opera singers caption on the package)
This stuff works miracles!!

*Dont devour the entire package though as this stuff also combats constipation.

I was talking about Rock Star:INXS one day to a guy I work with. He'd never heard of INXS. After I got over that shock, I said "Dave Navarro's on it too."
"Dave Navarro? The one who's married to Carmen Electra?"
Found out he was a "hip-hop" fan. Go figure.

Anyway, thanks for the Livecast, Dave! Hope I'm around for the next one.

Goodmorning!

How is everyone today? I just saw on the Today Show a report that Bernadette Peters was killed in a helicopter accident. I haven't seen it on any other site. Anyone hear or see anything about this?

Dave, how is the recording going?

Always,
me

Posted by: Angel at September 28, 2005 05:32 AM

Angel...It was her husband that died, not her.

Bernadette Peters' husband dies in helicopter crash
Associated Press

NEW YORK - Michael Wittenberg, husband of Broadway musical-theater star Bernadette Peters, died Monday in a helicopter crash in Montenegro. He was 43.
Peters

Wittenberg, an investment adviser, was on a business trip, Judy Katz, a spokeswoman for Peters, said Tuesday.

Three other people were killed in the crash, which occurred when the aircraft struck a high-voltage cable, police in Podgorica, Montenegro said.

Wittenberg married the Tony Award-winning actress in July 1996. They wed at the home of Mary Tyler Moore, a longtime friend of Peters.

Peters most recently appeared on Broadway in the 2003 revival of Gypsy. Her other Broadway shows include Sunday in the Park With George and Into the Woods. She won Tonys for her performances in Song & Dance and the 1999 revival of Annie Get Your Gun.

"The fact that I was making my own lung butter, was gross----YUK. A lovely shade of green and then yellow, so I quit."

Much congrats on the 2 weeks - keep it up.

Worked for me - 2 years with no cigarettes and the memory of my head down a toilet making "lung butter" (that is such a gross image!) stops me ever wanting one again. Went 3 years before and then started again but the crap coming up off my chest last time is not something I ever want to repeat and I know that "just one cigarette won't hurt" is just not true!

As for sore throat - I go with chocolate! Doesn't improve my throat at all but is a great excuse to come off my strict diet for a few days and that way I at least get some compensation for feeling sick :-)

It is a beautiful sunny day in NJ today, and yet, nothing seems to be ok. A c0-workers brother in law was killed yesterday in a truck accident. I've met him, and he was a very quiet sweet person. It's just a shame that people have to be taken so young. I'm sorry to whine, even though it's not a close relation, it seems to have stopped me in my tracks today. I keep thinking about the people that are so close to me! So, all I can say, is give the extra hug, say I love you, and let all the small shit slide, if only just for today.

Heres some lyrics Dave, you can have em, they suit your style better than my band. Goth fest in Hartford. Wrote this that night at the hotel while the goth goers partied.

Lucifers Wisdom Teeth

Lucifers wisdom teeth, rip into her heart cells.
Get never truth and misery.
Intimidate with brilliancy.
Some muttered lyrics, crippled mind.
Would you ever have the time?
Merchant links of embassy.
Do you like the things you see?
Strait line bent society.
Homocide of prodigy.
As lucifers wisdom teeth,
Cut into my heart cell.

HOPE YOU GOT TEN SECONDS, YOU OBVIOUSLY DIDNT HAVE 3:21 sec TO LISTEN TO MY DEMO CD.

All I can say is if I had the time your blessed to have to write music and sit in the studio, Id have fucking compilations of crazy shit. Have you checked out Frusciante? Trey Anastasio? DJ SHADOW?

Pick up three new albums. PHISH LIVE SERIES 10-06-2004 Fukoka Japan, Then Frusciantes "The Will to Death", and DJ SHADOWs "ENDTRODUCING". It would be a good thing for ya.

Hey friends...

I am in deep do-do. I got in trouble due to an addiction, and now have to re-examine my life and get straightened (and straight)...I am going to buy DN's book, because to me, someone who overcame what he did is an inspiration. He is living his life, enjoying it and creating (I am a painter/artist/writer)without chemical assistance...my hero!

If anyone has any words of wisdom or wants to write to me thru Panic Community, I am on there as Claudinha...I would appreciate the support, since you guys have been kind and friendly and I need positivity...

Dave, hope you are feeling better and I look forward to your future webcasts...again as said by all, you rock!

Claudinha

Thanks Sue, I can use all the cyber hugs i can get. Todays drama, I found out I have been exposed the the Whooping Cough. So now I have to be put on antibiotics so that there isn't some new epidemic. It sounds like some pre-historic disease. I should probably get re-vaccinated for lepracy while i'm at it!! dang! it's always sumpthin'. I keep telling myself, that what goes around comes around, and all my patience is gonna pay off one of these decades!

Claudhina - What can I say girl, except that, I am someone who is on the other end of the addiction. My boyfriend is (at the moment) a recovering heroine addict. All I can say, is that you are worth so much more than what your addiction will ever let you have. Get your shit together and live. Just live. Enjoy the ups and downs, enjoy the emotions that your addiction prevents you from experiencing. The people in your life deserve to be around the "real" you.

Hi all,

Wishing you a happy Thursday. Sorry to hear that it's not-so-happy for many of us here. Hugs, positive thoughts, and best wishes to all of you.

Claudhina - Congrats and best of luck on your decision to make a positive change in your life. You will definitely find encouragement at the "Community". We've all been there in one sense or another. Change is never easy, but sometimes it's the only choice we have. You'll KNOW when you've reached that point. When there's nowhere to go but forward... onward and upward.

This is only the beginning, of course. We'll be there for you on the TPC board throughout the process. My advice for now: Go for it. Be strong. Listen to the advice of others, learn from what they've learned. (Dave's book is a great starting point!) Then create your own plan of attack. Take baby steps, take some big ones too. Most of all, know that your mind is your most powerful weapon. Know that you can do and be ANYTHING that you set your mind to.

Think of it as painting a new picture of yourself, writing a new chapter, sculpting and carving a new life... You can do it if you really want to!

Cheers, all.

Love,

Posted by: Denise at September 29, 2005 12:40 PM

Claudinha, I know it sounds cliche, but the best advice is....
One day at a time.

You can stay straight for one day...just ask for the strength every morning....twice a day...every hour if need be...and you can do it. The strength is in you.

((((hugs))))

Thanks everyone- I am in a world of pain, but I will be OK- I have a great desire to change things, and I think that is what may be the driving force, and although getting caught and in trouble with the law may have been traumatic (nothing like that has ever happened to me)I also know that it was a blessing in disguise before getting into more deeper trouble.

Would I have ever made the decision to admit I am addicted if left to my own devices? I know I have pondered the idea of treatment before, even on this blog, but never reached a conclusion.

Thanks for your words, they mean so so much to me. I am going to need friends and support, and of course, I would be there for you guys if you need anything as well...

Yes, a new improved painting of myself sounds so promising and exciting...

XOXO
Claudinha

Claudinha, first off, you are not alone. I agree wholeheartedly with Dani, take it a day at a time, an hour at a time, a minute at a time. And utilize the resources that are out there, you do not have to walk this walk alone. I never got into 'trouble' either, but my bottom was all inside, and it was a helluva bottom. It was people just like me that saved my butt. Get into action, and you'll find your life will get very different. My prayers are with you.

to the girl that went to see trent with a busted knee...YOU ROCK! the last concert of his that i went to was the fragility tour in indy. i had to drive from lafayette to indy which was about an hour to an hour and a half...i was 9 months pregnant.

Anyway, I was at the gym working my butt off on the treadmill (quite literally) and an article comes on the radio news about bird flu with comments from leading expert and studier of bird flu DAVID NAVARRO! (I'm sorry sweetheart but this stalking has really got to stop, it's getting dangerous - I nearly flew off the machine!).

So now I'm really worried that your sore throat might actually be bird flu contracted during your research and lets face it, that would be fowl >G<

Ok - I though the fowl thing was funny but even I didn't think it was funny enough to post twice!

Sorry - I will get the hang of this new technology stuff one day ;-)

Days rush past and old friends are forgotten. The chaos of life gradually separates us from those we once held dear, until one day, you look around you and you have nothing. Then you think of those dear friends, miss them, long for their company again. But they have forgotten you.

Happy Birthday to me.

Dave...give us some feedback of the show...you've been a busy boy all week...only posted once in 3 days! That can only mean great things to come. :)
