CFR Streaming/Podcast
Last Saturday's CFR loaded now!
The show is also available for Podcast. Click XML on this site and add the URL to your iPod using the Advanced menu in iTunes.
I'm out to tape another performance show. It's hard to believe that we only have three more weeks of the season. It has all gone by so fast. There are only five remaining strong vocalists and personalities. I can't imagine who is gonna win, nor can I imagine who will go home next. After the show today I am gonna get into Season Two of Nip/Tuck. (Netflix really is an amazing service.) I would like to once again thank Robert and Chase for their work and support with this site. They are the ones who make CFR rebroadcasts and Podcasts possible, among other things. BTW, if you are having trouble viewing Rockstar on the 6767TV, it's because the show is not there anymore. We kind of got busted for our pirated streams. Oh well, we tried. Tonight is an all new Rockstar: INXS on VH1 at 8:00pm. Thanx for all of your support and I will check in later.

Hi 67ers,
Well, it's been a rough week to say the least. House flooded, can't return to my city for a while, but I'm one of the luckiest souls alive. I've got a comfortable couch to sleep on and I can take all the showers I want, which is more than so many people can say right now. I've temporarily re-located to Austin, TX. At the moment, staying with my grandfather, the coolest guy I know, in my book; at least this is an opportunity to spend some quality time together. Anyway, I'd love to meet some friendly Dave fans here in the Austin area if there are any that frequent this blog.. Please send me an e-mail. I realized just how much it does a heart good to meet some new, friendly people at a time in life like this. Please send all your thoughts and prayers to those who were affected by the storm. And please donate whatever you can spare to the hard-working relief organizations. Thanks so much to all of the kind souls across the country that have pitched in to help.
Peace,
Justin from New Orleans (a city that WILL re-build, and be truly great once again)

Hey, Justin!
You are so lucky to have someone to go to at a time like this, as so many people did not have anyone or anywhere to go.
I'm not in New Orleans, but in NC. And every time a hurricane comes through, I thank God I have a mom that would take me in if necessary. And even if not necessary! :)
Posted by: Dani at September 4, 2005 04:57 AM
Hi everyone,
Justin - I'm glad to hear that you're safe and keeping positive.
It has been a tough week for many. This was a huge loss that everyone has felt in some way or another, that's for sure. If we pull together as humans, hopefully things will get better.
So much more I could say, but that about sums it up.
Amidst all the sadness and loss, I hope everyone here has a beautiful day and embraces each moment doing things they love with the people they love.
Peace,
Posted by: Denise at September 4, 2005 08:00 AM
Justin, I'm glad you are safe too, and with a roof over your head and a place to lay it down. Los Angeles area Red Cross raised over $600,000 in three days for your city and the rest of the gulf, and more is to come.
This, too, shall pass. Hang in there man.
And good morning to everyone else out there. Where's my caffiene...

Hi,
I heard Camp Freddy radio show for the first time last...wow...interesting. I was impressed by how down to earth you guys sounded..and the music (that you did play :)) was great. I"m a big fan of talk radio, so that's not to say I minded the talking.
If I didn't have dial up, I would have tried to call in myself - I had a question - is Camp Freddy planning on touring at all? I apologize if this question has been asked before - it's hard to keep up with all the comments.
Thanks,
Jessie

Hi Dave, have fun at the taping today and please could you all lay off JD for once before the show? I know it adds drama but we really want to hear them at their best and this draining and bashing is sucking the joy and passion from him. He has such stage presence and his excitment just shone through at the beginning, now it's making us all sad to watch him have to get up and do his thing after a half hour of more or being trashed, this is the timeframe I hear from those who are lucky enough to attend. I can tell you are a kind man and I know ratings are king in the world of TV, drama helps rating, but enough is enough.

I heard CFR last night for the first time too and was in chat! I had a ball! Thanks guys!
Now I'm listening to the recording and realize I missed a lot! It's hard to chat and listen at the same time.
Glad to hear you're seeing a therapist, Dave. After the next few weeks, you'll probably need it!

Hey Dave and all,
It was nice seeing some new faces in the chat last night. But as Dani said-it's hard to keep track of chat, listening and other things I was doing. Sorry if I didn't say "Hi". Sometimes I need to be poked with a stick!
I'm kinda bummed, I'll miss Rockstar tonight.
But I really need a mind break from things lately!
And I'm sure I'll get to play catch up on the posts here or TPC site! :)
Catch ya's later.....

Yo Dave,
Please tell us you guys are planning another season of Rockstar !! Dude, this is the best Reality show out there! I have to admit, though, I have never watched any of the other ones ! ha ha .. but I am so totally addicted to this one. I am so siked to see what is in store for all of us starting Tonight with the clinic! I think the encore show will be top notch .. and I can't wait to hear Jordis blow doors with We are the Champions ! :) Take it easy Dude !

Hey all,
Yeah I just got done watching nip/tuck season 2 myself. Realyy good show and season 3 starts sept. 22 I can't wait. I would really hate to be the final decision makers on RS INXS, it only gets harder and harder.
Hey Dave there is talk that there might be more RS shows with other bands in the future, what do you think of that and would you be willing to do this another time?
Also what do you think about the whole Kanye West comment? Seems kinda silly that it got blown up, I think the main focus should be about the telethon and not what someones opinoin is.
Thanks all,
Helena
Posted by: Helena at September 4, 2005 12:55 PM
Hey Dave,
I can't believe that Suzie is going to be the winner of this show. Yuck! She seems like a nice person, but that is taking the band in such a different direction than their beautiful past with Michael. She's like a soccer mom trying to place dress-up and act like a rocker. Not cool. At least I can be happy that I won't have to buy their new CD.

Not that this has anything to do with much of anything but I was out last night and at a karaoke club... OF all things I was looking up a song .. and I flip down the page "Navarro, Dave ..Rexall" Now I'll be dipped(in what I will never tell) .. You have made it to karaoke land Dave, what are you going to do now???

Posted by: pet at September 4, 2005 01:31 PM
by the way I asked the karaoke guy.. does this sound anything like the cd? and he said I don't even know who Dave Navarro is... course I just gasped cause everyone in my bubble knows who he is. I keep forgetting the world isn't in the same color scheme as me sometimes ...
anyhow.. I asked Him to play it... and whoa... there are SOME similarities...but.. yeah..
ok done babbling now

Dave -
The Mods at TWoP got sick of the newbies and shut down our beloved RS:INXS forum last night. We're sharper than they are - we're regrouping and refuse to be stifled. No one puts Baby (or LAXGuy) in the corner. Come join us at RockBand.com; click on "Forums". You'll find old familiar faces under the "Snark & Spoilers" section. Come lurk! Lots of talk about PPoD, Kool-Aid, codpieces, and general good-hearted anarchy.

Dave, read your book all in one sitting. Was a dark and scary ride you took me one. WOW. It just goes to prove that life lessons mold you into the person you are today. You survived and you are an amazing person for it. Also, I personally can not wait for the new season of 24. Best show on TV today.

RS INXS was good- I needed to see something different and I promised myself to watch something funny tonight- ANYTHING funny. JD's party was sweet and they all had a fun time. Everyone needs to de-stress at one point or another!
I have been watching the news of New Orleans all weekend and cannot take it anymore. Like I have said thank god it is not me, but I need to change the channel for a little bit, so that my brain does not go on overdrive...anyone else feel like that?

Hi Dave! 2 things:
1. We use the same mascara! Awesome!
2. Have you ever heard the Pearl Jam song Help Help off their album Riot Act? It spooks me out a lot as has a very Trust No One kind of sound to it, like it wouldn't be out of place on your album.
Can't wait till Thursday when Rockstar INXS is on TV here in NZ, although we will have a few more than 5 contestants.
Thanks for everything Dave, have a wonderful rest of your week!

Claudinha,
I can't watch it more than 15 minutes without crying...I feel so much empathy for those folks.
Yeah, J. D.'s party was outrageous! The image of Suzie sucking on his toe while Marty poured champagne on his foot is going to stay with me for a while.
I hope I can sleep tonight!
Are they going to put out a DVD of the show? I hope so, since I taped over the BEST PERFORMANCES OF THE WHOLE SHOW!!!! I'm still kicking myself over that one.

I watched the RS-INXS clinic tonight, with my friend from DC who's visiting. The one with the huge country music collection. The young lady, that thinks I listen to weirdo crap music. She has no idea who Dave or INXS is. But she's checking out Dave and asking questions. Really checking out Dave, every hair, every bone in his body. So she finally turns to me and says, "You know, if he pruned back those muttonchops a little bit, he'd be really hot". So Dave, if you're reading this, I hope you're taking that as the high praise it was meant to be. She only goes for the fair-haired, blue eyed guys. You may have a new fan. I hope you can at least, fake your way through a couple of country tunes. {{{SNICKER}}} And trim back those muttonchops !!!

Hey Dave, just wanted to say that if you have any influence on the editing of the r*inxs show it would be groovy if you used it to get them to lay off J.D. at least in the time before he performs. Peace

Once RS is over, Lost will be starting. Can't wait!
Suzie will get her chance to sing her song that she wanted to sing so badly a few weeks ago. Jordis needs to remember she's awesome and relax, she's been beating herself up waaaaaay too much. Tomorrow night's show should be excellent. Have a good one all.

Hi Dave
Please Stop Hurting JD. He is out there every week trying his best. He loves INXS and you. It makes me cry all the hurtful comments towards him. If INXS dont want him, then cut him loose, stop berating him for being amazing. It is damaging to his future career.

Hey Dave and all,
I can't believe how quick the showing rolling along! Seems like just yesterday I was checking out the first episode.
Posted by: Diane/FRI13th at September 5, 2005 04:05 PM
Listening objectively to the singers, I wouldn't be surprised to see J. D. get chosen. His voice is more in line with INXS music.
Maybe all the negative comments are just his "trial by fire" to see if he can truly handle the pressure. You gotta admit, no matter what they through at him, he comes through it.
If only he could tone down his personality just a tad, and lose the philosophical rhetoric!

Hey all,
Dave, just wanted you to pass along the 'thanks' to the inxs boys and the producers of the show for reaquainting me with some oldies but goodies. I was out and about today and purchased Darkside of the Moon. I know, I know, it's a classic and a staple in every CD library, but I'm slow. What can I say, it came out the year I was born!! I also dug out some Stones and (even tho the show hasn't done his work)some Velvet Underground.
Anyway if you want to pass along the thanks that'd be great!

Hey Dave! I'm back from vacation! Finally got to get away for a bit with the family. We went to Baltimore Harbor and did the sites. Also went to the Hard Rock Cafe while there. I didn't see anything of yours/Janes/RHCP while there. I didn't get a chance to check out the whole place though...Did I miss something? Anyway, while we were leaving I found it interesting that they were playing Rollercoaster!! I of course commented on that to my husband! And my 7 yr old blurted out..isn't that a Dave song? I've got him trained well huh? LOL! They must play the same song list every day because the next day that we walked by around lunch time they were playing the same song! Not that I minded!
Also wanted to say that my heart goes out to anyone directly/indirectly affected by Katrina. This happened while we were away and every minute that we were in the hotel, our eyes were glued to the tv. My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with you all!

JD is nasty. I knew him a few years ago in Canada when he was a drug addled, meth addicted street whore. His family has disowned him because he's a disrespectful, stealing, conniving twat. Not sure if he gets along with them now. Someone told me his mom was going to go visit him in LA last weekend.
He's a total master manipulator, charmer, ass kisser, back stabber etc. I can't believe more shit hasn't come out on him, and even more suprised none of them are smart enough to see what a fraud he is.
He tried to get straight for awhile and was actually teaching karate and doing some shit on a local cable show out there. But then he fucked up again.
I'm not shocked to see him on the show, it's typical of him to weasel into something like this. I would never trust the guy. If he makes it in the band he'll end up bilking them out of millions while licking their asses at the same time.
Almost everyone I know out there has fallen for his shit at least once. He's a charming bastard.
Posted by: Randy at September 6, 2005 02:11 PM
That's the feeling I get from watching JD on the screen. I'm sure the producers of the show like him because he stirs the pot, so to speak.
Rock on Navarro.

I had to go out today and buy locking gas caps for both my vehicles. With Katrina and panicky idiots driving up the cost of gas, people are starting to steal it. I've had two neighbors, in the last four days, wake up to empty gas tanks. And that's just on my street. And I live in a halfway decent neighborhood. Anyone else having the same problem, in other parts of the country?
Posted by: LostBoy at September 6, 2005 04:23 PM
yes Lostboy...this has been happening everywhere. I live in the suburbs of NYC...and it has been a common problem here...siphoning (sp?) gas has become a serious problem...but then again so have the prices. The local gas station attendant told me and my mom that when Clinton was in office, the gas prices never went up. But i'm not going to turn this into a political thing...but even though the refineries are down...before katrina came, Bush had opened reserves...so he's using this opportunity to profit because, as we all know...Mr. Bush has plenty of his digits in the oil business...just saying...not to mention his efforts to help are more than lacklustre
And my support to the person on this board who has a sick father. Much love your way from NYC!

Posted by: blondimofo at September 6, 2005 04:30 PM
Yes LostBoy-They just mentioned that here on the local news how people are going out and buying locking gas caps.
I haven't experienced anyone mouthing my gas tank yet with a rubber hose.

That crazy old bat, Barbara Bush had some awfully snide things to say about the victims of Katrina.
One wonders if it's just her senility setting in OR if she's really that heartless. What a pompous airbag!
The general arrogance and sense of entitlement.....which seems to be a running 'theme' with the entire Bush family, is pretty damn appalling as it is.
Barbara Bush's wacky statements .....will (hopefully) turn more people off Georgie boy and his corrupt, uncaring administration.
I don't think any of the the major networks have talked about her faux pas, if they did, it was probably glossed over.

I saw the comments from Barbara Bush too Itanja.
That's partly my excuse for being so wound up and angry, and cursing people out for blaming the victims. I apologise if my language offended anyone.
I had also just been on the New Orleans newspaper website. (can't recall the sites name..Claudinha I think you posted a link to it) People were trying to get help to their family, or friends, or people they knew who were still stuck in their houses; and there were a couple of people on there posting repeatedly about how it was those people's fault for not evacuating, and all kinds of other unsympathetic stuff. It really got to me. I went on to see if there were ways we could help. I'd already seen a lot of posts, and other remarks either posted on boards, or reported as statements by politicians along the lines of blaming the victims; so I was getting quite angry.
But, I'm doing my best to not get into any arguments over it. Just help the people who need it if you can, and they do need it. They need empathy and understanding, and practical things like clean water just to survive. Forget the politics.
Love and hugs to all. Prayers for all.

Dave,
Here are some thoughts on tonight's performances:
JD - I loved his song PRETTY VEGAS. It sounds like a hit. He also did a very good job with COME AS YOU ARE.
SUZIE - I liked SO LIFE and her rendition of I CAN'T MAKE ME LOVE YOU was really good.
MIG - His HARD TO HANDLE was ok. It wasn't his best. HOME IN ME was good but not great.
JORDIS - Her WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS version was better than JD's but wasn't that great. I didn't like TRY NOT because it didn't do her voice any justice.
MARTY - EVERLONG was great. It sounded like an MTV Unplugged version of the song. Top notch. TREES was good.
Overall I thought it was a very good show tonight. ¿What does everyone else think?

Hey Dave and All
Rockstar INXS... JD was great, Marty absolutely ruled (very catchy original), the rest were good. I think Jordis looks very uncomfortable now.

hi all!
lisa here is the link to the nola website in new orleans... http://www.nola.com/weblogs/nola/
mikenyc, i loved the show, i say marty has the competition in his pocket...he seems to be the most cooperative and creative at the same time...who does everyone run to for help with composing? marty. advice? marty. feedback? marty. modern, yet cool enough to do the classics? marty. all that plus his creativity, solidarity and sheer talent = one well rounded future singer for inxs. and he was not even my first pick. sorry for the lower case letters, but my wrist and thumb hurt, hurt hurt.
hugs and kisses to all!
claudinha p.s. i wonder why jordis is feeling so bad lately. she is awesome and needs to believe in herself...
Posted by: Claudinha at September 6, 2005 08:33 PM
Claudinha,
I think that JORDIS is doubting herself. She needs to get her confidence back. I think DREAM ON really messed with her head.
I hope that your wrist feels better.

Marty had the best original by far. It had all the elements. The Mrs and I are definitely pulling for him. Outta be an interesting next 3 weeks.

just got in from the VR/ hurricane relife show. Just amazing, they played a blistering set with the the only slow point being "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd for the victims. Very touching. Brian Johnson from ACDC came out and did Rock-N-Roll from Led Zepplin. Matt is a damn powerfull drummer. We got some great pics and if I can I'll post them in the next couple of days. gotta hit Tivo for Rockstar in the morning.
(Sorry for all the typos, I'm a bit hammered)
love you all

Mike,
I think Mig is going off in his own direction. And what is with that hair? Did they change the styling products at the mansion?
Suzie was awesome and I agree with Dave that she's the strongest vocalist up there. She has more control than the rest.
Marty has really surprised me. I didn't like him at first, but he's a great singer. He's trying hard to mould himself into a potential front man for INXS and it shows.
I've noticed J. D. sometimes slips back into Elvis. Anyone noticed the lip curl tonight?
I think the pressure is wearing Jordis down. I hate it because she is truly a great singer.
My 2 cents.

I never figured out Dave's connection to "This Is How We Do It". I know in the book it says he wanted it looped at his funeral; but, what's the inside joke?
Posted by: Craig Dammit at September 6, 2005 10:28 PM
I enjoyed tonights show. Thought J.D. sounded a little like, Elvis doing a Nirvana impersonation. Still good. The web site wouldn't let me vote for best original song. MSN bastards !!! I'm pretty sure Marty nailed that, so I'm good. I also couldn't vote for best British album. MSN turds !!! The choices were somewhat lame. But I wanted to vote for Led Zeppelin, even though IV wasn't their best album. What I really would have liked to have seen listed, was The Cures "Disintegration". THE best album out of Britain, EVER !!! The best album ever to whimper in the dark to, when you're cold and damp and nobody loves you. But hey, that's just my opinion. Anyone else have a different (or more interesting) opinion?
Oh yeah, I have noticed Jordis is looking a bit unsure of herself lately. But it was only two weeks ago, Suzie was in the same state.

9/29 CF show Carmen Electra and the Bombshells should perform as well!!!

Good Morning all!
I enjoyed the show last night. I liked Marty. At first I was like "what's up with this trees?"...But then as I listened I was like "not bad", and found myself actually singing it.
Mig's song didn't do much for me. Suzie was good. and Jordis, like everyone seems to think-she is kind of bumming on herself or something and I think it's showing. Which kind of stinks, cause she is actually good when not "thinking" to much.
Have a fantastic day!
Posted by: Diane/FRI13th at September 7, 2005 04:26 AM
I’m starting to think that Sunday night might be the only night I get to sleep anymore. I was exhausted yesterday but yet I had to watch the show last night.
J.D. – Rocked!!! His original tune got me out of bed to dance. That's impressive.
Suzie – She has talent to be able to handle that song. Amazing! Her original song was okay. I think it was the wrong venue for it. If she really had been in a smoky bar it would have been perfect. Although I adore the line "Trippin on the avenue"
Mig – Cover tune, rocked!! His original song was not good and horribly bad choice of subject. I think this might be the colossal thing we that could screw him out of the job. What a dunderhead.
Jordis – Underwhelming at best. She did a horrible job with the Queens tune. Out of the 5 remaining, based on last night’s performance, she should be going home. And her original song, well, put it back in the closet and back away from it.
Marty – There is so much I don’t like about him (his eyes still looks like scary serial killer dude), but damn it he’s starting to grow on me. I loved his original song.
I don't know what I'm going to do with my Monday (being in Canada we get Sunday's VH1 show on Mondays), Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings once this show is over.
Peace,
Sue

Hey, Sue!
I don't know what I'm going to write about on my blog after the show is over!
I hate reality shows (although I did get into Joe Schmoe)so unless they make another Rock Star I'll probably go back to being Netflix's best customer!
About what you said about Marty....I was thinking he looks like an actor that always played the bad guy on tv and movies back in the 80's and 90's....can't remember his name...does anyone else remember?
Posted by: Dani at September 7, 2005 06:41 AM
