CFR & ARC

OK. I am officially over the whole conspiracy thing. Thanx for your thoughts and feedback, be it pro or con. It was interesting reading for sure. Anyway, tomorrow is an all new Camp Freddy Radio, however, I will not be in as I am focussing on music tomorrow. Billy and Matt will, as always, entertain you from 6pm-8pm. Unfortunately, the chat will also be closed tomorrow, but 6767 will be re-broadcasting the show on the radio here as well as providing the Podcast. 6767 chat will reopen next week at it's regularly scheduled times.

In response to the recent tragic events in Louisiana, Mississippi and other Gulf states, Indie 103.1 will be broadcasting a 40-hour long live telethon fundraiser to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina starting on Sept 9th.

well, all I got to say, is....YAY! Focus on that music, son!!
Not to take anything away from Dave Grohl, but all I kept thinking while watching Foo Fighters cover Born on the Bayou tonight was...wouldn't that be a great new song for Camp Freddy to debut on September 29th, just a thought

and don't worry about controversy, JD's shirt is taking care of that, a sideways wardrobe malfunction if you will

Dave,
You are the greatest guy. You are so sweet and down to earth, it's unbelievable. I'll miss you on CFR this weekend.
Much love from Alaska!

Tina - Alaska! I was just there last summer, it's beautiful! Anyways, I'm new here. Hi everybody! I've been lurking for awhile, decided to post a comment :)

Hi Dave - loved your post - If anyone was a ringer - and I'm sure there isn't one - I would say JD because to me he seems perfect - his voice, his style, his love and respect for INXS and all of the little things right from the beginning that add up to make it the most exciting 'story' (had this whole thing been planned). For instance:

1) JD saying he had a dream that he was on a TV show called 'The Life' and became the new lead singer for INXS
2) He is the most vocal about his admiration for INXS and their music
3) JD is the only performer that seems to just sing their music and looks like he's having the time of his life doing it - not to mention giving the audience the time of their lives also
4) The whole drama of the 'bad-boy' JD and his redemption in the last week or so when he just showed up and did his thing
5) JD seems to have more unique quirks than the others - his tattoos, his wings, his '448' 'Hardstar' 'Go F#$# Yourself' t-shirt controversy and the 'Mystery tune' posted that has everyone guessing and hyped as to its origins and purpose

Feel free to disagree, but please know that I am unable to be very objective ever since I first noticed and fell in love with JD and his sensitive/rocking voice!! (and the rest of the package)

ROCK ON DAVE!!
p.s. BTW - Loved yours and Carmen's TV show!

I agree...by the sounds the 'scandalous' one is a disgruntled Jane's fan that needs to move on and learn to embrace the new projects Dave, Perry, Chris and Steve are taking on.

Don't get me wrong I love Jane's music as much as the next person, some of their songs are my all time favs but that dosen't stop me from enjoying anything NEW these extremely talented artists are putting out there for us all. I mean really, does he expect them to fossilize?

Dave I posted three 'riveting' DTTAH questions for you last night but all last nights posts seem to have disappeared? It was the post before 'the scandalous' one entered our lives.... If those posts are no longer in existence I will hit you with them again soon.

Enjoy your weekend! x

Sad to hear that you won't be there, but glad to hear that the show will go on.

I might just try and call in again, if I have any money left after last week. Damn international calls.

'I agree...by the sounds the 'scandalous' one is a disgruntled Jane's fan that needs to move on and learn to embrace the new projects Dave, Perry, Chris and Steve are taking on.'

Ah KCee, Perry aint in the new band. It's Steve I, Steve P, Chris & Dave.

Hey Dave, just saw on Amazon.com that a 'Best of Janes Addiction' album is going to be released on the 27th September. This fact or fiction? Here is the link:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000AYEI4K/qid=1126321758/sr=8-10/ref=pd_bbs_10/103-1755604-2997405?v=glance&s=music&n=507846

Posted by: Simon at September 10, 2005 12:45 AM

Simon I think you've misunderstood me, I don't just mean the new band I mean any of the projects that have followed.
Like imagine if there was no Porno for Pyros, what would the world be without 'Tahitian Moon' or 'Pets' etc. ??

But yes he was going on about Dave not visiting the Jane's sites anymore so I guess that's what it really boils down to.

Posted by: KCee - girl from oz at September 10, 2005 12:50 AM

Dave, I love your style on the ol' gooitar! I'm a fan of all your works and am fully aupportive in your new projects. People need to flourish. I would LOVE to experience a new solo album from you! And I am a JD fan. He can be an ass though, then again; I'm a Danzig fan too...

Hi Dave, I didn't get a chance to comment on the last post so I just wanted to say I love the picture of you and MiG at the urinals. It's classic. Haha! You seem to be quite fond of him. He is awesome. I am hoping he wins!

Take care,

It would have been even funnier, if it had been Suzie standing beside Dave, instead of Mig. But then, I have a twisted sense of humor.

crazy about those conspiracy theories.

but i think there is a conspiracy theory that south africans arent meant to see Rockstar INXS. it isnt shown here and it isnt on VH1 here either. very disapointing. i think the goverment is behind it!

Hi Dave, great site. Just wanted to comment on how much I enjoy you on ROCK STAR. How has being on the show affected your privacy? Just a side note: you are gorgeous!

Hi Dave, Hi 6767ers! Love and hugs and peace xxxx

Posted by: ylais at September 10, 2005 02:21 AM

Ok speaking of Cospiriciys, Dave being a Pink Floyd fan, you may have heard that if you start the "Dark Side of the Moon" CD on the third roar of the MGM lion on "The Wizard of Oz", you get some really startling and mind-blowing synchronisations happening.

It's a synchronicity known as the "Dark Side of the Rainbow". I was wondering if you knew that people out there belive there is are synchronicitys between
"Ritual de lo Habitual" and "Star Wars: a New Hope" (start the CD after the floating space text fades out)
and "Nothing's Shocking" and "The Empire Strikes Back"

Was this intentional Dave?

Sorry to ask this a second time, but I wanted to hear your thoughts

Posted by: Slow Diver at September 10, 2005 06:02 AM

Conspiracy's? Come on people! It's a reality show...it's not like it's real life! :-D

don't sweat the hater's D. once 'rockstar' end's. they'll crawl back into their mudhole's as quickly as they appeared, when 'rockstar' began... but the 67 crew will alway's stay true...

Posted by: AdRock at September 10, 2005 06:06 AM

Hi, Dave! I just wanted to let you know I loved the picture of you and MiG. Fans of other rockers on the show have taken to polluting MiG's blog with all this conspiracy crap, and my opinion, as I stated, would be that I would be proud of INXS and Mark Burnett for such an idea if it were true. MiG's fanbase if far-reaching and continues to grow everyday. As an INXS fan, I am incensed by the racial and sexist remarks entered by these rockers' fans, but what's a little controversy in a competition? I personally think that JD is behind all of it and I just have to say that I don't think you criticize him enough for what he does. The tattoo "Human Being" should be stripped from his arms, because he certainly douesn't know what it takes to be called human.

Dave,

Half the fun of watching Rockstar is you! My 80 year mom even loves ya.

The only low point of the show is that missing Michael.

I loved Jane's, I loved Deconstruction, you rocked RHCP and now I am looking forward to PC.

Keep doing it.

Dave,

If one of your infleunces (I don't know, maybe Jimmy Page or David Gilmour) had a web-site and/or community (such as 6767 or the Panic Channel Community), would you have become involved?

Posted by: Spencer at September 10, 2005 07:57 AM

I think the last show should have a 'goodbye' of sorts to Michael. Maybe a video of the old band, to make room for the new band. That would be a sweet ending.

Dave just wanted to say I finally saw Rockstar for the first time and it was cool. Wondering if at the end of it they will show it from the beginning on VH1 or something. Like a re-run day.

Anyway hope the 6767 familia is doing well.

Peace out

Dave,

Question for the SUNDAY 10:
¿Before Wednesday's elimination show, when was the last time you wore a shirt while performing on stage?
My guess would be the time you played with JAY-Z on the BET or Source Awards. ¿BTW, can you post that performance on 6767 TV?

Thanks,

Later,

Hiya Dave, I'm a huge fan of yours, I loved that photo of you and MiG in the previous post. just a question, on Rockstar:INXS, when INXS asks one of the amazing rockers [it's so hard to have a favourite!] to sing one of their songs, what happens if they don't know that song very well or at all? xxcrish

Posted by: crish at September 10, 2005 10:34 AM

Thanks for the link to the Jordis article, it really answered a lot of questions.

And wow, Dave! You're a genius to put together an album to coincide with a Star Wars movie! How'd you do that????

Hi Dave!
Rockstar's been an awesome show - full of talent and I'm on the edge of my seat to see what the fab INXS boys will ultimately decide in terms of their "new" band but do you think that they might be getting a little too "narrow" and hard on the rockers? I mean are they really listening to what the rockers are saying to them about where music is "today"? I thought they said they are looking for someone to work "with" not just a puppet who can relive their good ol' days but the comments that they've made on the show (especially of late) seem to indicate otherwise.
Since MiG already sang his newest original a couple of weeks back, was it really fair for them to slam his "2nd" original song? I'm an "older" Canadian fan (44's around the corner) of MiG's (okay so it's not like you couldn't tell already) and of INXS. I just hope that they see that MiG's got a HUGE INTERNATIONAL fanbase already - But whether they choose MiG or Suzie (also a great talent) or the other very talented rockers, it would be a real shame if they alienated their own (longstanding and loyal) fans with their comments. Just a thought............

Posted by: Canukfan at September 10, 2005 11:03 AM

I don't even think of RS-INXS as reality tv. I'm enjoying it as music entertainment tv. I actually don't care for reality tv at all. I get too much reality and drama, in my own life. I don't need more !!! The only reality tv I watch, is called "the news". And that should come with a warning label. Let someone come up with a conspiracy theory about that !!!

Posted by: LostBoy at September 10, 2005 12:45 PM

YES, Canukfan you made a lot of good points!

Some of which I've been asking ALL along since this 'contest' started.....yet no one seems to be answering these questions! lol

Or could it be that INXS' have changed their idea of what they want in a singer as this contest has been moving along? As I mentioned in another thread here, their new album is already written...shouldn't the songs be written with the type of singer in mind? So yes, it does sound as if they require very little input from their new singer.

Just what type of singer are the INXS guys looking for.....a Hutchence sounding clone OR someone who can actually bring the band out of the 1980's and garner them some new fans.

As someone else here pointed out, hopefuly the new singer will also be able to interprete their old hit songs.

None of them really sound like Hutch...only JD.
His personality is something to be desired, so they'd me making the wrong choice in picking a person they'd probably fire within the first two months! lol

In the end, I hope they pick a singer with songwriting talent. There has to be more to any singer/songwriter joining this band than just fronting them and singing the Farris brothers music.

If they do just pick a "puppet", they'd simply remain a nostalgia act.

take care,
itanja

Controversy and conspiracy theories are great! They add a little more something to the show.
I must admit though, when I first watched 'Rockstar INXS' I was appalled at the concept. However as someone else said, you have to move on and respect people's new projects. It is good that the show is giving these artists exposure. I am sure all of them will recieve a boost to ther careers no matter what they choose to do next.

Hey Dave,
Thanks for officially clearing that crap up! As someone who's known MiG for a very long time, I'm sick of the conspiracy theories, and I'm SO glad that you've come right out and spoken about them... in this case, silence hasn't served well! So thank you for coming out and saying what many of us have been saying in defense of MiG (and the other performers) for so long. MiG's lucky to have you in his life, and I know he'd be appreciating all the support and constructive criticism you've given him (and from all of us here "down under"...THANK YOU For encouraging him to wear less clothes! We've all told him he's had a hot body for ages!)Keep up the good work on the show, it rocks!

I'm feelin ya LostBoy, I watched a documentary last night on Atta and the other hijackers, It was fucked up to know that they were reported as 'persons of interest' but the commission did nothing because they had valid visas'. I was personally living in Venice,FL at the time those psycos were taking their flying lessons, our house down there is only a mile from the business, and the fact that they frequently drank at 'The Outlook Bar' that I frequented also, I knew the bartender they interviewed! It's like dam I probably sat at the bar with these fuckers and didn't even know it "(
