Black Wednesday
So sweet Suzie McNeil goes home! She does have an awesome voice but as Tim said, it's about what is right for the band at this point. It was a sad day for sure, but these kids have so much heart and talent that I know they will be heard from again. Only Mig, Marty and J.D. left and as far as I know, it could be any one of them. I had a chance to hit the studio yesterday with The Panic Channel guys and that was a lot of fun. I am looking forward to getting this record finished and out as soon as possible. For those of you who have asked, the new shirt designs should be up next week, hopefully by Monday.
1. Dave, please stop saying "DUDE". The show is great, you are great but I swear, if you say it one more time, I will have to turn the volume down on my TV when you come on. Signed, a person who says "dude, but knows when not to over use it"
That's fine, turn it down, but if you have a Nielsen Box, please don't change the channel! P.S. Technically speaking, if you say "dude" even once, it's considered over using it. So, welcome to the fold!
2. Dave, you are still on dial up? Hello 2005!
The DSL line comes in through a phone line in the house provided by the phone company. If the phone line is down, then... Wait. Am I really explaining this right now? I gotta find a new hobby! When the hell is that damn Season One of Lost gonna get here?
3. Hey Dave, how did it feel to be kissed by JD?
It was frighteningly reminiscent of the old JA days, circa 1989.
4. How hard is it for you keeping "silent" with YOUR personal opinion of who INXS says stays or goes?
It's not that hard really. I think that if I seem upset or disappointed, it's mainly because I have grown to love all of these kids and I will simply miss them. As for who wins this thing, it's up to the guys and I support whatever they want.
5. In some of the pictures, it looks like you are wearing a red bracelet or red string on your left wrist. Is there a special significance?
No, not at all but I got asked if I was into Kabbalah so many times, I just took it off. (Not that I have anything for or against it, it's just that the bracelet in question wasn't intended for public spiritual definition.)

Dave,
You were smokin' on the guitar last night (er Sunday night). Loved. loved, loved it. You looked hot too.
Hey, can you tell Marty to lay off the acoustic thing. His energy is what stands him apart from the rest. We get he can sing. Our Band: INXS gets he can sing. I want to see Rawker Marty back. He can rock and not scream (take me out, trees, what I like about you). I still worship at his Kool-Aid, cult leader feet (next to worshiping at yours, of course), but enough is enough.

I don't think it's going to be a happy time in my home tonight- they're all good.
I left a comment on your last post thanking you for your generosity but being the slacker I am and always coming late to the party if I didn't mention it here I was afraid you wouldn't see it!

Final three! Its gone very quickly, hasn't it? I'm sure they'll all be successful, cos they're all brilliant talented people.
Hope you get that phone line fixed!

Great show last night Dave!! Great to see you up there on stage finally you looked like you were having a blast.
JD i think has the best shot at winning at the moment from his performance last night. Mig was the most disapointing. Wont be surprised if he gets voted off tonight even though he has yet to be in the bottom 3. He has a more theatrical singing voice and i don't think it is really suited for a rock band like INXS.
Posted by: Pinhead at September 14, 2005 11:49 AM
Whoa! I was wondering why I couldn't comment!
Dave, missed you on the blog!
And I hope Mig wearing the Marine jacket didn't hurt his voting results too much.
Good luck to all! They are all a great group of singers~!

Oh and Dave can you tell me why Carmen had her hair all teased out and pinned up like she did? Thats a surprise usually her hair is very elegant, I wonder what she was going for.
Posted by: ..::Jess::.. at September 14, 2005 11:56 AM
Hey Dave
Great to see ya play and have a good time with your adopted children (Ha Ha). My problem is this.. INXS gave JD a song that suits his voice..in the low range. INXS doesn't want marty to scream but give him those type of songs, and why is Mig given gay ballad type of songs like seal. Better choices with different dynamics might better aid in INXS's choice for a lead.
Just my thought

You smoked on ILS last night Man! That was killer. (side note: I'm a very lucky guy as I got to sing ILS with Rob Deleo, the guy that wrote the song, while Rob played my guitar, in the town it was written in, right down the street from where it was actually written and also where it was recorded and mixed)
Dave, have you ever met either Rob or Dean Deleo and if the opportunity ever arose, would they have an open invitation to a Camp Freddy gig? Just wonderin. Keep working it, Bro!

Cool Dave, I thought you were just busy...I still don't get how this is going to work out, but I will figure it out. So the person (The actual winner) is chosen tonight, or Monday?

I thought I was gonna wake my little ones last night when I cranked the TV up to here you playing with suzie and the fellas last night!!!
Suzy is amazing but, I can't imagin INXS on a bus with her overwhelmed with the lifestyles pressure along with a gnarly dose of PMS. But, girlfriend...I love you anyways!!!
Mig...I just realized that even though he blew me away with baby I love your way, his singing is too theatrical to lead INXS. I"m surprised by this realization because I've always thought that he and JD would be head to head for this position at hand.
Marty completely pissed me off last night!!! I LOVE Creep...I saw radiohead last summer and was seriously blown away when they did it (CREEP) onstage which is my understanding to be a rare occasion...I really hope marty's performance doesn't resonate in my mind for years to come because I got stink eye and felt nausious hearing him sing that song last night!!! I have positive thoughts about marty but his performance just grossed me out!!!
JD!!! What happened to ELVIS??? Apparently he left the building quite a while ago!!! Cause JD has been bringing it hard core for the past few weeks. I was getting discouraged that his attitude would have sent him home days ago and haven't really been sure about his genuinety. But he's the BEST one to lead INXS!!! The audience was so juiced and even better INXS was totally into Pretty Vegas, I saw them getting down to his song like no other!!! He's got the passion, edge, creativity and soul that none of the other contestants have!!! I'd for sure see INXS if JD was leading....
Brooke is so cute, she totally reminded me of wonder woman and then you made the super hero comment!!!
Can't wait for tonight and am really curious about how next week will go down
Kisses

Hi Dave! I have LOVED watching Rock Star INXS and I will sadly miss you, the contestants and the INXS guys when it's all over.... What will be on TV to watch after the show?!?!? It's been tough for those trying out for the part, I'm certain, but all in all, any of these in the final 4 will be AWESOME for the part! Keep Rockin'..... We'll keep lovin' that music! Love, KIMBO

Dave, I was looking through some publicity photos for the August 2005 Poker Tournament that was held in Vegas. In some of the pictures, it looks like you are wearing a red bracelet or red string on your left wrist. Is there a special significance?
Thanks!
p.s. Love the show and can't wait for tonight!

Hell yeah! Emily/Blondi sure does rock. Shouting right back at all of ya. :) Let's keep our fingers crossed that there will indeed be something to look forward to in NY.
Simon - Marty doing "Sports Chalet"... Great idea.
It will be sad to see someone go tonight. Most likely I will miss it, have other plans. :( But it will be interesting to see what the public says, and then what INXS says. I just can't think of one person who would be perfect for INXS. I still think Mig is the closest, even if he is very polished. I'm sure he can be "corrupted"... it would certainly be fun to try. ;)
JD's great too, if he could lose the "bunny hop" thing. Just my honest opinion.
Marty and Suzie would do terrific jobs too, but I think they're better suited for other musical scenarios where their talents and true selves can truly shine.
Who knows. Either way, the suspense is intense.
And I'm a poet and I don't know it. LOL
Cheers,

Can't wait to see who goes tonight....although it is getting sadder and sadder to see it happen....better not be MIG, is all I have to say!!!! :-(
Dave, you need to be on TV every week....no, every day....no, start your own channel--DAVE-TV, all Dave Navarro music, all the time!!! That would be awesome (I should be a network programmer!!!!)
BTW when are the Camp Freddy shirts coming (and are you tired of me asking yet??)??

Anxious stuff, waiting for the decision. I think Mig is out. I also think that its gonna be neck and neck with Marty and JD at the end. As far as I'm concerned, I would rather have just performed with you than be frontman for INXS.

Hey Dave and 6767 family,
I am so exhausted, truly taking care of my Dad and daughter is so stressful. I just hope that we don't get hit by Ophelia here. That's the last thing I need right now.
Hey I finally got to watch Rockstar last night, I had missed both shows last week, because I was packing and flying out here. Loved the show I think all of them did a great job, and the desision will not be easy.
-I have been wondering have any of the bands that these guys have sang contacted you guys at all with comments?
-Also do you think INXS have changed their minds alot on who they ant or do you think they have known all along?
Thanks all,
Helena
Posted by: Helena at September 14, 2005 05:45 PM
mig goes home tonight... he's perfect for grease 3.
the band will not want to deal with JD's personality. he's a punkass. the hop-thing is lame and when he talks to the audience, he comes across like a backstreet [backdoor] boy.
suzy is sweet and cool and rocks. but she was weak last night. she can't lead this band.
marty is the man and the clear choice for the band.
brooke is amazing and has a look about her thats screaming for some hot 3-way action...
dave... be rockstar and take care of that, will ya?

Hey every1, Jimmy Page is in the house! ROCK AND ROLL. I have said it b4, my favorites are Suzie and Marty. I just have 2 blog this, I was on my feet rock'n last night 2 Suzie and Marty's performances. That's all I know about the decision. rock on and peace--------ck

DN,
So SUZIE was let go tonight. I was completely surpised by INXS' choice. DAVE's expression was priceless after she was let go. He looked so upset and disappointed by the decision. I thought that she was a better fit than MIG. My guess is that JD wins next week.
BROOKE announced that there will be a ROCKSTAR tour this fall. I can't wait to see that especially if a combo of SUZIE, JORDIS, MARTY and DAPHNA are on the bill.
Have a great night!!!!

Hey Dave~~ Can I just say that I am deeply dissapointed in INXS and their choice of letting go of Sweet Suzie Mcneal... Noticed your expression when they called her out and I have to say that I felt the same pain and dissapointment!!! oh well I guess an all male band will most likely pic a guy as was proven in the last month.. BUMMER!!!!
Also when does this new photo project that you are doing coming out, by the way when are you coming to New York?
lots of positive love!!!
Posted by: Carly at September 14, 2005 07:05 PM
Dave,
The last show is next week!!! A sad day indeed (I vote for Mig, strong performer). So what is your next project? are you going to concentrate on music for a while? (I know in the past you mentioned going back into the studio... is that still the plan?) I suppose I will just have to visit this site more often to get my weekly Dave fix.
I know I asked this before, but as the self appointed representative of the shlong of the country (AKA Florida), my job description dictates that I must ask again. Will you consider bringing the photo project to Miami or Orlando?
Mucho amor, loco...

what's next in store for you?
also, any plans to hit canada (montreal in particular) any time soon?

In all honesty, JD should've been sent home tonight, NOT Suzie...she DID kick his ass...Mig was great as well too. It should've been Mig,MARTY, and Suzie going to next week. Wonder what happened from Sunday's show of her being the BEST singer(INXS's own words) to tonight?
Let's HOPE that INXS makes a great decision next week (I hope they chose Marty, but after tonight, I doubt it'll be him).
Dave, I gotta know...how soon can we expect a production from you showcasing Suzie and Jordis?
Much love to all,
Anna(7-8-78)

I"m gonna miss the show when its over. :(
MIG MIG MIG MIG!
Posted by: Peg at September 14, 2005 07:48 PM
I missed the first part of the show, thanks to our annoying local CBS "Super Doppler Meteorologist". I didn't really need to know, Hurricane Ophelia might be crawling up my butt sometime tomorrow afternoon.
But I did catch most of the show. I was sorry to see Suzie go. Daves face, what can I say? One more baby bird down, two more to go.
Posted by: LostBoy at September 14, 2005 07:50 PM
I have a question for you Dave, and I apologize if it's been asked before. I'm new here so here it goes. How hard is it for you keeping "silent" with YOUR personal opinion of who INXS says stays or goes? Like you said, you're not part of INXS, so it is their decision, but yet your facial expression has said MORE than words ever could when both Jordis and Suzie were let go.(And I believe most here would agree with me when I say, I too, felt the same way). OR, since it IS a SHOW, is it for "drama"?
Thanks,
Anna(7-8-78)

Oohhhh, Dave. :(
I am so, so, sorry, man! You looked so upset tonight.
Suzie's a great singer and you know she'll go on to have a fantastic career!
And Mike, my money was on J. D. until Mig sang his first INXS song. The energy that guy was putting out...I'm tired just watching him!

Posted by: gypsyfenix at September 14, 2005 08:11 PM
Hi ya'll...
Was it me or did Sweet Suzie seem p.o.'d on stage a few minutes after the decision was made to let her go?
I can't see Mig being the singer...maybe if it were "INXS: The Drama And Times" on broadway...I see him more as an actor than rockstar, and yes i know that a rockstar does perform...
just an opinion...

Actually Claudinha, Mig looks more like he belongs on "Days of Our Lives" that in INXS. He's got the look of a soap actor. But he did have a lot of energy onstage tonight.
I feel so drained! I'll almost be glad when this is over! I can't take much more!
I may have to get one of Dave's large bottles of Prozac before it's over!

He is a good guitarist, but those wide obnoxious vibratos just don't cut it in EVERY song.

hi Dave - what a treat, Tuesday night with you totally rockin out on stage! Will you be part of the Rockstar touring show?
As for Suzie, seemed to me too she was pissed but it may have been her way of self-preservation, so she didn't totally fall apart - strong lady.
I think the best aspect of this show has been really getting inside the rockers personalities, seeing them from week to week... so when we all buy there CDs in the future, it will be like having someone we know, a friend, right in our living rooms.
When did we spend that much time with any of our other favorite rockers/artists?
NEVER!
Dave - hope you stay on the airwaves somehow - any offers looming out in the universe?
Take care, thanks for the best summer entertainment on TV! See you at the finale - not to be a pig, but knock me out with your last outfit!
Hugs,
GB

There has been a lot of talk on the Rockstar MSN page about whether or not J.D. cheated by using the arrangement of Pretty Vegas and passing it off as an original song of his. If you recall it was music that was given to all the rockers by INXS at one of the past clinics. Clearly, it is going to sound more like an INXS song than the others. Now, no doubt he has made it his own lyrically and with the energy. I just wondered what you thought about this? Is it an unfair advantage?
I loved Sasha's art. He should sell some of it. There's definitely a huge market. Thanks Dave!
Posted by: Mary C. at September 14, 2005 09:20 PM
Beach Queen, yes, you are right, Suzie was probably just trying to keep it together- I guess I am used to seeing her get emotional, but it is understandable that she probably is feeling many mixed feelings.
This is getting hard, each time more emotional!
I hope there is something out there looming for Dave, because he has a perfect personality to deal with people- he is affable and charming. More RockStar with other bands would be so great-so let's keep our fingers crossed!

2 things. The drummer in the "House Band" totally hammered tonight. Phenom. Of course the whole band rocks but he stood out tonight. And Dave?you looked great--your stage presence is palpable to say the least. De-lish!

If not you should, just a suggestion! Oh yeah I finally caught an episode of INXS and it was badass!Keep rocking the wah, DUDE!

I will miss the show. I work a real job, have a local business and a online business. I pretty much work through all my waking hours, the only time I relax is on Tuesday and Wednesday night to watch the show. I am hating that it will be over. I have so much enjoyed all the talent we've seen over the summer. I hope to see more of the people that didn't win and Dave of course.
Posted by: Darby at September 14, 2005 10:50 PM
nice to see JD not acting like an ass. He rocks out when he's just givin'er. Martys' song Trees kicks ass! yaay Marty.
As for the show giving birth to anything, ya right =P. Ri-ght, Whatever you say, your toadness.
I hope Suzie does well.
Rumours are that your banging Brooke. HAHA. Hope Carmen kicks your ass if you are.
I'm over the whole Hutchence thing. Kel didn't want me and 'Mike' ripped me off, seriously ripped me off. Maybe he was jealous that I write better than him, at age 15 no less. Whatever. I hope wherever fire marshall Kelly is that there are no matches for him to throw at me. Unforgiven.yup.
I actually hope INXS does well after this, they kinda deserve it. So do lots of people, myself included. I hope INXS ends up with a good guy, not a JACKASS.
Amen.

It's gotta be JD - of the remaining 3, he has the voice, the confidence and control, the look, the stage presence, the attitude. I'm sure the INXS guys are leaning toward fellow Aussie Mig, but in the end I predict they will choose JD if he continues to improve as he has.

hola!
i was listening to a recording of the '94 woodstock "lightbulb" gig. on the track aeroplane i noticed you played the rhythm guitar during the outro instead of the solo. was there a solo to the song at that time? or were the light bulbs getting in the way?
i also heard the '94 sydney live version and the solo on that was bitcin'! were you (and the band) more comfortable with the song at that point or, again, was it the fact that there were no light bulbs in the way?
much thanx

Dave-
Please check out the thread on the INXS forums called the absolute worst singer... It's a running joke, and the biggest thread over there... We bash an imaginary contestant named Marco, and there is often people that come in asking "Who the $%#@ is Marco?"
We all think it would be amazing if ya showed up wearing a shirt with that on it... It's a great read, 150ish pages now... Check it out, have a laugh, and make a shirt...

Hey Dave,
We don't get to see the Rock star show until Sunday in the UK but I can't believe Suzie went!
Can't wait to see you up on that stage again -something has to keep me going until you take the stage at Rock City, Nottingham again!!!!
I am hopeful that The Panic Channel will play at least one gig in the UK next year :)

Can I just say Suzie's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' will never be forgotten! It was truly one of those amazing moments you're glad to be a part of.
JD still irks me, I know he is really talented and all but there's just something about him I can't get past.
I haven't been a Mig fan but he did really well singing 'What You Need' I think maybe because it wasn't something he could prepare for, it was kinda just thrown at him which made his performance not so clean cut and polished.
For me Marty's the one! He's the one I would have no problem paying to see. What a shame INXS couldn't take the final five on tour with them... they then would be guaranteed sell out shows all over the world.
And to Elizabeth I am hearing you loud and clear!!
'Dave, you need to be on TV every week....no, every day....no, start your own channel--DAVE-TV, all Dave Navarro music, all the time!'
That's the best idea I've heard in a long time!
Have a great day all! .... It's time for this Aussie girl to get some sleep.

Great admirer of your work. Was wondering if you could wear the "Who the #$*& is Marco shirt" for the finale. It would mean alot and put the icing on the cake (if your read any of the post). Thanks and looking forward to hearing the new CD real soon.

DAVE,
how's it going bro? great job on the show i really love watching it. hey, i have a question, i still watch some of my old jane's videos, and i was watching soul kiss last night and wondering: when that footage was shot for SK, were you heavily using at that time or did your heavy drug use come later? thanks D .

Rumors...please, like Dave really needs to bang Brooke with Carmen as a wife..Carmen is way hotter than Brooke anyday!
Mary C..I agree with you on that 'pretty vegas' thing!! I would rather hear 'trees' anyways ")
Dave,
'dude' your 'awesome' we love how you 'rock' on stage 'bro' its 'amazing' we think the show is 'phenomenal' and we hope Mig wins 'yeaaa son'

It was sad to see Suzie go, but I know that she will definitely be heard from again. Same with Jordis. They are all very talented and I have my personal favorite that I am pulling for to join INXS, but at this point, I adore the remaining and would definitely buy anything that was put out by them.
I had the same problem with DSL. Since I live in Redneck, USA - things tend to get fixed a bit slower around here - which is a pain in the ass because I take all of my university classes online. We finally took the satellite out of our bedroom and put cable in there just so we could have cable internet access. It is such a beautiful thing : )
Hope all is well and glad the DSL issues were resolved. I was starting to get worried that something bad had happened since you post so regularly.
Posted by: Amanda at September 15, 2005 06:49 AM
Tell INXS to ditch Marty, so YOU can work with him. Your guitar and his vocals would kick serious ass. Acoustic was awesome, but plugged in, together you'd be freakin' amazing.
Sasha's paintings are great, thanks for linking to them.

Word Justout26! Dave and Marty would be lethal combination.

Hi Dave,
I was just about to turn off the TV when Carmen came on the Tony Danza show. She looked great but had an injured hand. She showed Danza and he squeezes her hand! Ouch!
She was telling that she now have two! pet scorpions and that you have them all over the house! That's awful!
This summer my son -- it's his 20th birthday today!! -- was visiting from Europe and we watched
Rockstar together every week. It really made us much closer. We came to realize we have so much in common music wise and spent the days listening to each others music collections. He went from wanting to go back to Europe as soon as possible to being reluctant to leave.
He doesn't get to see the show anymore but I let him know what happens when we talk. "What did Dave say this time?" "He played with the band?! Wow! I wish I had seen that!" We're hoping Marty will win. We really liked the love and good feelings that came through the show. You don't get much of that on TV.
So thanks Dave, You made my summer so much better in many ways.
Lots of love,
Jazzie

I was pretty surprised at your facial expressions after Suzie left last night and MiG was allowed to stay. I'm not surprised that maybe that wouldn't have been your choice, but by the blatant display of your opinion. I tried to view it as a simple expression of hating to see ANYONE go home, but the shaking of the head was just soooo expressive.
I've thought you've been absolutely amazing and classy in your role on this show, but don't you think that was a little harsh for MiG to have to view later? We all agree the guy is incredibly NICE (which has sadly and somehow become a questionable quality) and it felt a little bit like kicking the cat to me. Am I wrong in my interpretation of your reaction?
Posted by: Annette at September 15, 2005 07:33 AM
Dave, dude!!!! My phone line has been down too, we really need to pay that shit!!
As far as Dave showing expressions, he showed the same disappointment when Daphna left, and Mig seemed to rise above that one.
ok, Scorpions, as in PLURAL? What does Daisy think of THAT?
Now for the serious question, noticed that your lovely wife is attending lots of Fashion Week events and must ask, is she bringing YOU back anything?

Check the videos online if you don't believe this:
Suzie was "on" last night, and MiG was... on *something*. 6 excellent INXS song performances to 1 too-tight one, and she goes home... yeah, nice voting system.
Aaaaaaaanyway, Dave, someday* I hope you write a tell-all book about this so we can all find out which of OB:INXS tried to sit too close, and who you were really looking at when they showed your face making those "less than pleased" faces. Also, did you ever get a good look at any of those "results" Brooke was "reading"? I have it on good authority that she was totally making it all up, and got rid of the girls herself. MrrrrEEEOWW.
* next Wednesday works for me

Dave, you were amazing with your hot guitar licks playing with the "kids". I would love to see you and Marty do the acoustical version of "Trees" using a 12 string. The tone would have been awesome. Really sorry to see Susy go, but the talent is so equal now.

Dave! DUDE!
Could you have inflated JD's head any bigger??
Posted by: Joonie at September 15, 2005 08:16 AM
Big mistake made last night!!! Suzie should still be there! I hope Marty wins, but Mig has been skating along, when, in my opinion, he's generic. nothing special about him. And, quite honestly, I wish he'd keep his clothes on. It's so cheesy tearing your t-shirt. But then again, that just proves, that even HE thinks he's skating by on everything BUT his talents. I think he should stick to the theater. INXS will be making a huge mistake if they pick him. There will be no diversity to any of their shows. I hate JD, but I'd rather see him up there than mig.
He's cookie cutter british rock star. I would hat to think I watched this whole season only to find out that a band such as INXS, which has it's it's own unique sound and niche in the industry, would choose to re-start their careers with a guy who is so vanilla. We want "rock"-y road fellas!!
Posted by: SweetMelis at September 15, 2005 08:38 AM

It would totally rock if you wore a "Who the #$%* is Marco" t-shirt on the finale on Tuesday. I hope you have read the "Absolute Worst Singer" thread by now, it is hilarious.

What a great show you have, both my wife and i have been watching this show since day one. We live in Shawnigan BC, small town on Vancouver Island and have enjoyed every broadcast so far.
We don't get much of chance to see any live shows as we both work and most of our time and money goes into our home. So this gives us our weekly "fix" for good live rock entertainment.
As we get to the end the cream has definitely risen to the top. You must be very proud of what these kids have done so far.
The ones that don't become the lead singer for INXS will land on their feet as this has been a great show case for their talent and there'll be many bands clamoring for their services.
After this season do you plan on doing any more episodes?
Do you think this show will affect how you do things in the future especially as it pertains to up and coming musicians for your own musical endeavors?
Would you consider sending the house band and some of the singers on the road to visit local clubs?
Speaking of the house, get those guys in the studio and doing there own thing, they rock.
Keep up the good work and don’t stop at one season.
Cheers

A few things that need to be said....
DUDE!! Dave, dude! Say anything you want, dude! I'll listen, always, dude!!!
Also, it's a shame Mig didn't have more INXS songs to perform. I thought it was the most energetic, awesome performance of the whole show!
It's also a shame that the best performances have been the last few weeks....I'm guessing they have more rehearsal time with the band since there's fewer of them.

What a night!!! It was a tough call on Rockstar, my wife and I kept flipping back and forth. She is pulling for JD and me I have been kinda thinking Marty is the man for the job...but than last night..holy $#@!....they were all 4 totally amazing! After last night I am looking more to Mig who seemed to have the magic Suzie is totally rockin' and I figure she will be Rockin' for a long time to come.

No need to slam Mig, as he will be perfect for “Rock Star: The Wiggles. Marty is unique and needs his own gig. Despite the fact that I could not stand JD for most of the season, he’s really progressed and I think he could do the job. He needs a shot of soul, but I think he could pick it up with more exposure to INXS and their performance style.

Dave,
Your facial expression when Susie was eliminated--was it edited or was that your actual expression when Tim announced that she was out? Don't get me wrong, Susie has had some amazing performances, but Tuesday night she blew her second song by coming in early-- twice!! She seemed to be cracking under the pressure, and I can definitely understand, but the votes just haven't been coming in for her and the fans have plainly stated that they don't want a woman fronting INXS. It couldn't be a clearer message for INXS to hear.
That being said, MiG has consistently gotten the votes and despite the bashers (JD fans) on the message boards at RSINXS. I know to some hard core rockers the thought of being a better person is ridiculous, but to those of us living in the harsh reality of everyday life, MiG's outlook on life is preferable to posing just to look "cool". Regardless of who is chosen, I hope that INXS makes the right decision for THEM and do well in their careers.

I don't know about you Dave, but I am thinking that MArty is the best performer up there with the most talent. Having said that I don't want him to win strictly cuz I think I would rather buy a CD of originals by him rather than a new INXS CD. Not that I dislike INXS. Dave I'm thinking you should grab Marty and use him. Just my humble opinion though.
Posted by: Tino at September 15, 2005 07:58 PM
I thought all along that Suzie should've won the job in INXS. Dave, judging by the look on your face right after she got sent home I am guessing you might have felt the same. She is such a talent! Are you going to help her kickstart her career? Because a song with you on guitar and her singing is destined for radio... maybe just like "you outta know" 10 years ago???? :)

Dave,
How was it up there playing with the House Band? I think there should be a show dedicated to them (and you) just to crank out some tunes for an hour or two. With that much talent on stage, it would be mind blowing. Cool thing is, I just did an interview with Raphael today. I will be posting it on my Canadian Rock online mag on Saturday Night!! (www.greentoe.net) As I am doing 24 International artist showcases a year. He is a scary player, and well spoken..smart..kinda like you Dave. Great job on the show. we never ever turned on Canadian Idol this year. Idol of any sort is spoiled for me now, after this monster of a show. Now..if we could only get Mr Navarro to come speak of the 6767 on our site.....

i know i have asked this before. have no idea if you responded to my question. been a while since i visited this site...but...would you ever be interested in singing again? like you did on your solo record. and perhapes appear on some other rock band's albums. collaborate and all.

I have really come to love and respect you and the band a great deal. You have all provided thoughtful comments while being sensitive to the situation of the singers. I hope you can pass along to INXS that more than who they pick, people are just glad they're continuing on. It's a lesson to all of us.

First off, will people stop chastising dude-sayers for saying "dude?" Dude, you're annoying me by telling me to curb my "dudes." (Sorry, I have a hardcore kid on my ass for saying dude all the time... He's cute, but he's pushing his luck.)
Here's my take, and then I will disappear as I do:
I can't stop listening to (and watching) Marty's performances. I DO NOT want him to be the lead singer of INXS... I want him solo. And I want to buy his album tomorrow. Mig is adorable... but ultimately, JD embodies more of what Michael Hutchence was, which is charisma and, ahem, arrogance.

Hey Dave, saw you on Extra last night. When they had a story on "Brangelina" I wondered what do you think of celebrity couple nicknames? How would you like to be part of Darmen or Carmave? Lol...

That was blistering guitar work on this week's show. INXS will choose who they want. You know these people and their talents pretty well by now so I'm curious: Which contestant(s) would YOU choose to work with on a new project?

Hi!
Dave - LOVED your answers. That's why the Q&A is so much fun. Even just a taste of your wit is a treat. :)
Missed EXTRA. :( I guess that's why everyone was joking around about it on CFR?
Dan - Ana? Sure hope not.
ADINA! So great to see you here again! This and the TPC board are my main cyber-stomping grounds these days; hopefully you'll visit more often. :)
Have a great day, all.
Love,

Oh yeah love the t-shirt!!! too classic another reason why I love JD!!!

Johnny I was thinking the same thing about The Panic Channel supporting INXS on their upcoming tour. But I believe there is more too picking an opening act than just the bands preference. I could be wrong though...Dave, any insight on the process?? It would be great exposure for the band though!! :)

Just dropping a line here, long time I didn't check out your website... cool design...
I'm glad you're having a good time, Dave...
You're still a fucking inspiration. Keep that going.
Much love to you and yours.

Someday I will work with you.

Hi Family,
i want JD to win. He can sing , he's good looking and he's got the right amount of bad boy in him to put INXS back in the headlines a year from now when everyones forgotten about the show.
Posted by: S.E.4 at September 16, 2005 06:44 PM
Dave, please, pretty please can you make sure "Trees" gets on the radio soon? Or anything by Marty for that matter?
I hope Marty doesn't win. Have you heard his band the Lovehammers? They completely blew me away! Eliminate him already so he can start his amazing career and so I can see him on tour!!
I hope JD wins, he needs INXS. They're perfect for eachother. Let Marty go on to better things, and MiG (what's up with the capital 'G' anyway?) can go back to the Wiggles.

Is it me or does J.D. sound frighteningly similar to Peter Murphy from Bauhaus at times?
Posted by: tina at September 16, 2005 07:45 PM
I think Marty has the Peter Murphy vibe going. I could totally see him performing "Bela Lugosis Dead".

I am the other Danni :) Love to read all these comments. Glad I found this site! Just a question Dave. I am a big KISS fan and wondered if you like Ace Frehley? By the way, watched the Wiggles this morning on Disney network or something, they said MIG was the dog. Wonder if it was him in costume. I really hope he wins!
