Black Wednesday: After

So Jordis has gone home. I'm not as broken up about it as I usually am when someone leaves the show. I have total faith in her and I know she is going to be just fine. I plan to stay in contact with her (She is, in fact, an honorary member of Camp Freddy since performing with us several weeks ago.) as I have with several others and will keep you informed as to what she does next. She is a beautiful woman with so much talent... And she is so young! I think she can pretty much do whatever the f!#k she wants now.

For the Yamaha acoustic auction I am going to donate (ARC) my original prototype white signature guitar. The thing is, they haven't even made them in the factory yet! So all I have is the first one ever made. Yeah, it's a special one. It's the one I am holding in all the ads that have run. I'm sure Yamaha will replace it when they make them, but for now it's the best I can do. I'll let you know when it goes up. Robert and I are setting that up soon.

1. When are the new T-shirts coming?

New 6767 shirts will be arriving this month in M, L & XL. (We listen here at 6767.) We are bringing back the original design due to the demand, but there will be alternates to come in future months. Also, for those of you who cannot attend the Camp Freddy benefit for the victims of Hurricane Katrina on Sept 29, 6767 and BC Ethic have made it possible for you to purchase the venue shirts here. Of course all of the proceeds from these sales will go to The American Red Cross.

2. What's in the Netflix que for you?

I checked to answer this one and got, "The Netflix store is temporarily unavailable because of scheduled maintenance work." Damn! I know I have a lot of Japanese films and documentaries in there right now. I think my next 5 in line are Nip/Tuck episodes followed by Season 1 of Lost. I know there is a Manson Family documentary in there somewhere. I would recommend the Japanese film "Audition" for those of you who like to be disturbed and have not seen it.

3. Which of the original songs from last night's show was your favorite?

Trees by Marty Casey.

4. Why is it when I’m at Starbucks mainly Sat afternoons; you are waiting impatiently behind me. Almost gasping under your breath as I am trying to decide my order?

I don't know! That is so weird! Especially when you consider the fact that on Saturday afternoons, I go to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Perhaps you are waiting in line with me in a parallel universe.

5. Are you still going to be doing the traveling art display of the rest of the photo booth strips?

Yes. After the show we are starting that project back up to coincide with the release of the book in paperback. I have actually taken steps to get this done just last week. I am thinking two cities. You guessed it, New York and Los Angeles.

One of the 'Sexiest Men in Rock n' Roll' ...

Hey Dave -
The site is looking absolutely INCREDIBLE! Robert is obviously truely talented ... and dedicated.

On Wednesday night, Brooke appropriately acknowledged you as being 'one of the Sexiest Men in Rock n' Roll.' I would love to see you put together the Sexiest Men in Rock ... THE BAND.

For this endeavor, might I suggest starting with you (duh), T. Lee - drums, & Marty Casey - lead vocals.
And, although you haven't met him yet, Robert's friend, Pando, is the MUST HAVE on bass. Besides being an excellent bass player, and a very experienced musician (he's played with Nate of RS House Band) ... Pando is BEYOND gorgeous!

Now, for that line-up, I'd pay a couple hundred, front & center, in $10 bills =)

Make sure Robert introduces you two very SOON!

SMiR!!!

Be Good!

yay first.

Dave Theresa had a brilliant idea about showing rockstar INXS at rokbar. Maybe you should have a marathon on the day of the finale or something. I’m sure many of us would love to go…

Cool... An unexpected update. :) Just wanted to say "hi" to Dave and whoever is up. I was in full-on "night owl" mode tonight, having caught a second wind about an hour ago. Weird how that happens.

Glad to hear about the upcoming art exhibit and all of the other exciting goings on.

Did I mention how much I enjoyed seeing Dave perform on RS INXS? What a lovely visual... and audio!

Cheers,

You were spot on tonight with your comments regarding Jordis. She's such a star already. SO rad to hear you finally play on the show. Wish she would've played more with you during your solo though. Any raspy-hot young female members playing with CAmp Freddy at the Key Club soon? Either way, looking forward to a kick ass show. It'll be my first, virgins are allowed right?

If so, I am well and "truely" screwed !!!

My first time posting here. Luv ya Dave!

Jordis was the main reason I was watching Rockstar. I will miss seeing her on TV.

Surely she will have multiple offers from the labels, but could you keep an eye on her and guide her thru the maze? Help her keep true to herself...

I just wanted to say that Suse's question was too cute. I totally picture you in a hurry at Starbucks. What is it you impatiently await to order, Dave? And I'm guessing Venti, no?

Thank God I finally got to see you play on the show. I think they should've had you up there each and every week. That guitarist has to be stoked at the praise you've heaved on him. I hope they have the sense to have you playing for the rest of the run each week. Here's to wishing I win the lottery to be able to bid on that guitar. God, what a dream it'd be to have it and kudos to you for the auction.

Will there be new Camp Freddy t shirts available soon?

We don't get RS:INXS in the UK until Sunday so I have a few days to prepare for Jordis' departure. My first thoughts are - and I don't want to offend anyone here but, she's too good for INXS!!!!

Dave, you wore a red shirt recently on RS - wow - how hot did you look in that!

Hey there Dave. I guess we're creatures of habit in some respects; as for the web, I check my e-mail, The Weather Channel/News, and 6767. (What else do you need?!?) Well, maybe a little research here and there if I'm looking for something (e.g., Ebay) or info.

1) What are your top 3 daily web visits these days?

2) What do you think of Social D? Do you know those fellas?

3) Someone posed a neat Q. about what would you want to know from your fans? If you're ever curious, throw something at us and we could all answer in the top before we type away our 6767 comments/Q.'s.

Have a good one!! (Good to see the guitar playing last night. Makes me wish I could make it out west again for TPC or CF.....next time).

Good morning D & 67’ers!
Beautiful day in NY! (It’s a Sunny Day outside…Lovely Sunny Day outside…) Dave—thanks for answering about the photobooth show, and double thanks for planning to show in NYC!
Sorry to see Jordis go, but she really isn’t “right for INXS, she’ll do just fine on her own. Looking forward to seeing her someday, preferably soon in NY with Camp Freddy, hint hint…
Love to all, especially in the Gulf Coast region.
Have a great day everyone,

I'm with you Dave, I thought Marty's original was Awesome! I wonder if he got the girl after all? You'll have to ask him and let us know. He is definately the stand out, he really knows where it's at, INXS would be crazy to let him go!....Mig was a total let down with his ballad, what was he thinking? Bad bad timing! JD irks me and Suzie has an amazing voice but I can't really see her pulling crowds.

BTW - Dave your jeans were hot!

All this talk about a Sept. 29th show-
And all the others I've heard about, makes me believe I'll never get to see you perform. :(
I feel a little out of place.

My, my, my... what a treat to you see finally jammin with INXS! You were totally hot and so was your music!
I was sorry to see Jordis go as well but I agree with you, I'm sure her phone has been flooded with calls from record producers.
Parting with your guitar will probably be one of the most rewarding things you have ever done. It seems when we give from the heart to help someone it comes back to you ten-fold.
You truly are amazing.
And if you ever get sad or depressed, I hope you just go to this community and re-read all the comments. You have created an awesome environment here for us and for you and you are really loved and appreciated for all you do -
We're ready for the T-shirts!

Audition is a kick-ass movie. But my favorite Japanese foreign film is Battle Royale. Hands down, one of the greatest movies ever. It has gore, a great plot, twists and turns...just a brilliant movie. I highly recommend it!

And Dave...you rule!! 'nuff said!

much love to everyone!

Hello friends,

Diane don't get down, keep your goal in site! One day you will see Dave live...DON'T give up as the Peter Gabriel/Kate Bush song says...

Beachqueen you wrote Dave a beautiful little note! I believe the same- he will get tenfold- in love, life and spirit!

Emily, my fiance said that if you loved Battle Royale, you should check out the book. He loved both and also loved Audition...I remember him telling me about the beginning of the film, the velvet bag and the cut off tongue. I have a weak tummy so I was like..."I'll pass, thanks!"

Dave, you are an angel in disguise! ;) You reap what you sew and I am convinced of this, why do you think this place is a lovefest?

XOXO, peace all!

Mornin' Dave. Bye Jordis! I feel VERY blessed to have been at the HOB show and saw her jam with Camp Freddy (glad she kept her top on!). You are absolutely right, she's already a star, and will only get better and better! I'm personally hoping to see her sing again at the Key Club in three weeks.

Enjoy Lost! That's the one show (non-summer) that I will move heaven and earth to watch. I'm heading back to college in three weeks (hmmm all happening at the same time), and I purposely arranged my classes to be home on Wednesday nights. Yes.. I'm one of those that is sicker than others..>LOL.

YES! T-shirts at the show! And in a size that will work with my boobage. Thanks Dave!

Posted by: Kate at September 8, 2005 08:19 AM

DAVE since you talked to Eric on CFR are you still in touch? WIll there be any jamming going on in the near future?

ALOS have you heard polar bear why something instead of nothing CD?

Posted by: skullneck at September 8, 2005 08:20 AM

Why was Suzie allowed to sing the same Inxs song she already sang on an Elimination Round before? I also
do not understand why they gave Jordis 2 terrible downbeat Inxs songs to do instead of upbeat ones. No one could have done anything vocally on these duds.
Jordis is the sole reason I've watched the show. Inxs saying Jordis you're not right for our band is like a record label telling the Beatles you're not right for us. None of the other singers has a distinct individual voice like her. Jordis rules! I will be buying anything with her but nothing from Inxs & the other singers because they don't have the magic!

Posted by: Hershon at September 8, 2005 08:24 AM

---HEY---

TO BAD THAT JORDIS IS GONE, I KNEW THAT SHE WASNT GONNA WIN, NOT COZ SHE ISNT GOOD ENOUGHT (I THINK SHES THE BEST) BUT COZ SHE IS BETTER ON HER OWN, SHE WILL HAVE ALL THE LUCK OF THE WORLD, AND AT THE END, SHES NOT TO INXS ANY WAY... WHAT IN SURPRISE ABOUT IS THAT SHE LEFT SO EARLY.. FOR A MOMENT I THOUGHT THAT THE LAST 2 WERE GOING TO BE SUSIE AND JORDIS, THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING GOOD TO SEE... BUT WELL, PERHAPS THE OTHER GUYS NEED AND DISERVE TO BE THERE MORE THAN HER TO HAVE A CAREER... AT THIS POINT I THINK THAT SUSIE WILL WIN, AND JORDIS WILL MAKE IR AND HAVE A GREAT SUCEED*

Posted by: Marivic at September 8, 2005 08:39 AM

Hershon - INXS did well with those 'duds'

But, agreed, it just didn't seem 'roit' for INXS to do that in the song selection.

Jordis is AMAZING, and I will be right there with you buying all her stuff :-)

Cities evacuated, loved ones missing, thousands dead, but let's get our priorities straight...and help the people who couldn't get on line to vote for their bottom three..

Ditto to that! I was sad to see Jordis go, she definitely wasn't right for the band or rather- they weren't right for her, but I just loved seeing her up there. She's got an awesome voice! And I'll definitely buy her album when it comes out!

Posted by: Tracy1cg at September 8, 2005 09:02 AM

Here is how I see it- love the fact you are part of RockstarINXS. Keeping the young hip factor is important for this..
Jordis- She will be more incredible doing her own music that works with her vocal style.
Suzie- Has the best vocal, however could never front this band. Woman want to see a sexy man front a band like INXS and men want to be that person fronting that band.
MIG- I honestly think he is getting all the Australian and alot of the European votes. He has not been that great lately.
Marty- He needs to front a band that caters to a younger audience. I think he is too hard edge for them. INXS + Mad Conductor = train wreck....
JD- His tone is so fitting for INXS, and like MH he is almost as sexy. He has amazing energy that gets the crowd wanting more. But then again, hope he kinda doesn't get it, would love to see him do his own shit.

Peace

Posted by: Diane/FRI13th at September 8, 2005 09:37 AM

Hey Dave and All

Sorry to see Jordis go last night. I don't know if everyone else noticed this, but after missing the note on dream on... she became so down toned. She was to self conscience. I think Mig hasn't been rocking lately but he is very consistant and that is why he is where he is. I like JD but he should tweak down the attitude abit. Marty is great..but is he INXS?

Dave...can't make it to Camp Freddy benefit concert(live way too far away), but I would like to send money for your benefit none the less. Let me know how!

Peace All

Rob(winnipeg,Canada)

Posted by: Robert at September 8, 2005 09:52 AM

Lisa (not Marty's Lisa) -

I must disagree with your equation:
INXS + Mad Conductor = train wreck.

As an INXS fan (circa 1983) I seem to recall Michael Hutchence having all sorts of strange, yet uniquely sexy moves that only he could pull off.

I think Marty brings that to the table.

Conversely, when JD shakes his hand violently, or does some other weird-*ss behavior, it looks like he's having a seizure.

dave you are - simply put - a gorgeous creature. looking forward to the new shipment of t's - gotta get one. as well, jordis was great, but she's gotta go on her own, she's going to be a huge star - predictions - my money is on mig.

Jenn-a-Raider I HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR about JD! Well put! I view him as someone who needs their ADHD meds! He's way too jumpy like the lead singer from Green Day. You just want to yell at the tv, calm the *uck down!

I'm also with you on Marty! I think he's a perfect fit! I like Mig, but I think he'd be better alone or in another band. Inxs is not his type...at least that's my opinion anyway!

I was REALLY surprised that Jordis was asked to leave the other night. She rocked the beginning, but kind of lost interest the past few shows. I love her voice and hope she'll do something on her own!

Anway...may the best man/woman win! Can't wait to see who finally gets it!

Oh my, my ...

I just asked Jordis what her most memorable RS:INXS moment was ... here's her reply:

'Hands down, besides the cake (laughs), was when Dave invited me to perform with Camp Friday at The House of Blues for my birthday and Jon and Garry came out, it was great!'

Camp Friday, huh?

Dave, when Jordis plays with you guys next time, be sure to present her with a HUGE, 5 foot chocolate cake that reads 'Thanks, from all of us in Camp Friday.'

Too funny!

As sad as I am about Jordis, I am thrice as stoked that she can get on with her solo career this much sooner. I knew she wouldn't win, but... in the end, I think she'll be on top!
I thought I'd heard Suzie sing that before, but I wasn't sure.
She is impressing the hell outta me! I think she might take it!
JD, could not stand a single not that came out of his mouth, untill this week. His original was great. Felt like i'd heard it before. I hate his stage presence though. He can pull off INXS songs, but are they really gonna want to deal with his attitude problem.
Marty, I like, but, he creeps me out a little. the whole skeleton with skin factor. But, he's proven he can be more diverse than just the scream. He actually can sing.
Mig, don't like at all, he looks like Jughead from Archie comics after he got back from backpacking through Europe for a semester. (For that matter, Suzie reminds me of Betty, and JD reminds me of Reggie) And his "air supply ballads" were just painful to listen to. Seems like a sweet guy, but, that's about it for me.

So, I think in the end, Suzie or Marty.
Now all you insomniacs can sleep, I have given my prediction!!! JUST KIDDING! If your even still reading this, your probably sleeping already!
Have a good day,
Melis

One more thing-

Will more tickets be made available???

Posted by: Pinhead at September 8, 2005 12:29 PM

I think in the end, it's all going to be about personality. INXS is going to pick someone they can gel with. Not someone they want to bludgeon after a few hours, days, weeks on a tour bus.

So, Other Jenn. You're now officially Jenn-a-Raider? Pass the coffee !!!

Posted by: LostBoy at September 8, 2005 12:35 PM

Dave--so cool to see you jamming with INXS!
Marty's song totally RULED!!! WTF was up with JD getting the encore? Something just ain't right about that.
It looks like I will be at the taping on the 14th!!!! How MEGA-COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Did you ever go to sleep? [passing you the *bucks venti bold, li'l sugar, li'l cream]
Well, I can be Jenn-a-Raider or Other Jenn. Other Jenn leaves me with "OJ" for short, eewww.
Then again, Jenn-a-Raider would be "JAR."
HELP! I'm having an identity crisis!!!
F-it. From here on out, I'm a "Jar of OJ"

Jeans? They were jeans? I thought someone had spray painted his ass with denim paint!
Looked "fan-tass-tic!"

Jordis has done "Never Tear Us Apart" when she and Mig were in the Westwood One Studios. I found it on Idolforums.

Hi, Cdn Sue, guess that’s “Canadian? If you’re registered on TPC board, you can use that name too, then people here know who’s who-there’s another Sue who goes by “Caffeinated Sue.

Carolina, I’m in NY and I always say the LA gets all the shows, Dave hasn’t been here since last October! (To perform anyway). So I guess unless you’re right in the heart of LA and can go to all the gigs you always feel like you’re missing out!

Sean! Itanja and I were just talking about you, hope you’re well.

Hi D-man,

I was just wondering who's responsible for the layout of 6767.com - I think whoever did it is really talented, the site is really good-looking and easy to use. Keep up the good guitarwork.

Hi all,

Dave, nice ass. No tears for Jordis - she's an awesome singer and performer and will do great no matter what happens. Will Camp Freddy, I mean Camp Friday, be doing their radio show this week? Just checking , don't want to miss it.

Take care,

I'd love to make a contribution to your fundraising efforts. I have a few ideas that could be great. It could include the INXS rockers (and Carmen too) if they're up for it. Email me if you're interested and we can talk about it in more detail.

Speaking of curtains....When I'm watching the show, I've seen these four guys in black shirts sort of to the left? stage right? of the House Band and behind the Rockers....

Who are those guys? They look like bouncers or serious security.
Does the live crowd ever get out of hand?

Hey Dave,

Been lurking for a while...enjoying 6767 and the extra Rockstar info. But had to say (after seeing MzLiz's post and a few other comments about your butt and your jeans on last night's show) that my first thought was "oh no, he's so much cooler than those jeans with the bleached butt..." But it was fun to see you on stage and doing your thing...hoping for more of it before the show winds down. Just had a conversation today with a friend, trying to figure out what we're going to do on Tuesday/Wednesday nights without out Rockstar/Navarro fix.

Dave totally forgot to mention this weeks ago. Starlit’s CD is finally out. (you can purchase it on my space www.myspace.com/starlit) you so need to have her come in to the studio with you and do a promo or something. I’m waiting for payday to get my copy…
Maybe a starlit party at Rokbar…

I’m just saying…

You know I mentioned something to Steve about rokbar being too dark but I take it back. I guess I was just there for a few minutes last time and didn’t see the cool different color lights that are synchronized with the music. The only thing I would add there would be a bunch of black and white photos of “rockers but that’s cause I’m a picture whore.

Anyhow hope everyone is having a great day

I so hope to see good things for all the contestants, this wonderful group of talented people. I really like Jodis and Ty and my heart hurt for them to have to go. But that is the name of this game. I am loving this show and even though I started watching it with reservations, I must say I have gotten caught up in the talent and drama of it all. I only hope to see it work out for INXS and they take off again with a dyamite lead singer.
I have gained a lot of respect for you, Dave Navarro. It is easy to write celebrities off in any genre as egotistical or one fry short of a happy meal. You seem to be the rare real thing.
Thanks

Please Dave, if at all possible, consider bringing your traveling art display to the Andy warhol museum in Pittsburgh. I can't think of a better venue since Warhol spent so much time photographing and taping and documenting his own life. There's also a photo booth in the basement of the Warhol that is permanently both on display and able to be used.

I was planning to go to the show on the 29th, but it seems it's getting a bit crazy now and you will be like sardines in the Key Club...on 2nd thought, maybe more like a people aquarium lol....anyway, would you happen to know if outside of the Skyy show in October what else is in the works for those that might not make the 29th CF show?

And before I forget, is it true you pulled the plug on Billy Duffy's guitar solo in NYC at one time, when you were still in Jane's? If so, how the heck you did kiss and make up on that one? lol

First of all, Dave, you are right: Netflix is an excellent service, though I have the three-at-a-time plan. It's great not to have to go into video stores anymore and waste your time picking out a movie that you really don't want to even see! Netflix has a tremendous selection!!

Secondly, I really will miss Jordis, the girl has quality written all over her. I do hope that you're right Dave, and that we'll see more of her in the future. She's got a bright flame inside of her! However, so far, my two faves are still in the running, and, no, it's not Suzie. The girls are greatly talented, but I just can't see INXS headed by a girl. I don't know... And JD, who's arrogance is as sexy as hell, well I could see me getting tired of that really fast!

Hello folks!

Hope you are having a good night. Emily, my fiance is a major film buff, anyone can ask me,if they run out of ideas for films, he will ALWAYS have a film recommendation on the tip of his tongue. He got me into old films from the heyday of Hollywood. Of course, some I had seen, but there are a lot of the old flicks that kick butt, which I never had an interest in! I love the film "Leave Her to Heaven" directed by John Stahl...check it out if you can! It is about a woman who is intent on "posessing" those around her. It is one of the first films in Technicolor, so the colors are very saturated and the restrained manner in which the characters portray themselves makes for an interesting way of reacting to very emotional situations. I really recommend this

Smooches to all!

Ouchies abound,
Claudia

Hey Dave and everyone here!

Not only do I love reading Dave's posts, I love reading the comments. There is such a great spirit about this site, and it comes from all of you. Thank you!!

As for Jordis, I cried and cried watching her go. I never thought she was right for INXS, but loved hearing her sing each week. And she seems to have such a great soul, that I just hated seeing her go.

Dave, you seem so supportive of everyone there. It can't be easy, especially the past couple of weeks. Being on camera 24/7, away from family, in a competition being voted on by what can sometimes be a cruel public.

I understood your comments about not being as broken up as usual, but I was selfishly sad that I wouldn't get to see her each week. You will keep us posted on where she is and what she does next, right? Hope so.

In the meantime, loved 'Trees' too. Glad you said it right out loud here.

Loved seeing you play on the show. And love all you're doing to help the victims of Katrina.

Finally, to Dave and everyone here, keep doing what you're doing. Love! Peace! Namaste!
;-)

Hi all,

Good morning! First, I agree that the banner looks awesome. Great job! (Even though I can't see it on this darn laptop that I'm using right now.) I LOVE the colors, the animation ,etc...

But am I the only one here who is kinda bummed out by the "dead Dave" pic? I appreciate the dark, gothic quality of it, but I just hate to picture him that way. :(

That's OK... I'll get over it!

On a lighter note, that's great about the t-shirts. You guys - and this site - truly rock.

Is he supposed to be dead? I was thinking he was asleep. My perspective I guess.

Maybe it represents transition...a rebirth... the emergence of a "New Dave".
Death to his inner struggles.

Oh, wow. What deep thoughts about website banner.

Dani - It's a pic from a few years ago, taken during Dave's darker days. I'm pretty sure it's in his book. I rememer reading somewhere that he took the shot himself, and he WAS supposed to be dead in it. But I like your "rebirth" idea. You're probaby right!

Rockstar:INXS
There is a "reality" show going on over at CBS where the idea is that 15 musicians are competing for the lead singer spot in the 80's &90's band INXS. I have reality in quotation marks because it's not real.

The show isn't even live, like on American Idol. Last Tuesday I saw that I could see video of the night's performances - before they appeared on tv for their turn. I guess the web designer for the show uploaded the content too early. This Tuesday you could begin voting before the performances were complete. No early video this week.

If you go to the message boards for the show you can see that this isn't a real competition to get the best singer for the job. There are "teams" of viewers grouped by their favorite contestant. These "teams" vote several times for their favorite. In the competition, the three contestants with the least amount of votes are put into a sing-off to see who gets eliminated that week. It's supposed to be based on who sang best on Tuesday, but that's not the case. You could vote a bad singer into the top of the votes, protecting him/her from being eliminated.

Right now there are 5 contestants. Of these one is clearly what INXS is looking for. Three are fan favorites, even though I don't think they are very good singers. Last night, two of the contestants (Suzie & Marty) did terrible - missing notes, and going off pitch. But since Marty has a HUGE fanbase among the viewers, you can betg he won't be in the "bottom three" tonight. Suzie gets major praise from the band & co-host Dave Navarro. Personally, I feel there must be some sexual favors going on, because Suzie isn't as good as they are saying. Several times she was in the "bottom three" and had to participate in Wednesday night's sing-off. Everytime INXS saved her from elimination. Suzie should have been gone weeks ago.

I believe they are keeping her on the show so it doesn't seem like they are being discriminatory towards women. The same thing went on for the show's lone African-American Contestant (Ty) until last week when he was finally eliminated. Both Ty & Suzie can sing, but they aren't "rockers". The same can be said for the other female left on the show, Jordis. If things went by honestly, Jordis would be gone this week. She did the worst last night.

Another fan favorite, Mig, did ok last night. He messed up his cover tune, but he did well on his original composition. But his fans swamped the message boards last night, so I'm guessing he won't be in the sing-off round tonight.

It's a shame that the best singer doesn't go on, everytime. If that were so, then two females would still be there instead of Suzie & Jordis. One is Jessica, the other is Heather. Heather can be seen/heard at http://heathergrrl.com (can you tell she was my favorite?)

But the real star of the show is the "bad boy", J.D. Fortune. From the beginning I felt he would be the winner. He fits into the INXS style so well. He's a total package of singing talent & star quality. He's got his fans, but it's not a big majority. The Marty/Mig/Jordis?Suzie "teams" like to gang up with the negative posts on J.D. But it is J.D. that sounds like Michael Hutchence. If you closed your eyes last night when J.D. sang his original, you could have pictured Michael singing it. It was that close to the old INXS. The music for J.D.'s lyrics was from INXS.

INXS unfairly criticizes J.D. and the boards do too. INXS unfairly praises Suzie and the boards do this for Marty & Mig.

It's not a fair process by any means. For example, tonight's show isn't live. You would think it should be for this, but it's not. The message boards don't represent the real "best fit" for INXS. Dave Navarro & INXS don't call it like it really is.

Bottom line is (in my opinion) INXS can't seriously be thinking about a woman or an African-American to front their band. Their hardcore fanbase won't accept it.

So, it's down to three men. One is an Australian, like the band. Two are fan favorites, but they aren't really a good fit for INXS. If J.D. doesn't win then INXS has done themself a great dis-service.

The show is starting, and the undue praise for Jordis & Suzie has begun. Bad boy J.D. was given screentime for his birthday party earlier this week.

I read a spoiler post, and it seems to be true.

Let's hope that the best singer (the "real" best singer & not the fan favorite) wins.

-------------

The show is over and it seems like the person who posted the spoiler message was correct. The "teams" behind Marty & Mig assured that sub-par performances get rewarded if you have enough people to vote for you. This isn't supposed to be a popularity contest, it's a competition.

It's a shame that people who don't have anything better to do except click a button for HOURS just so their favorite can be safe from elimination. It should be fair, but these "teams" are tarnishing the process.

So much for "reality" Television.

Update: Rockstar SCAM???
I have been doing some digging & it appears that the show has been rigged from the very beginning. According to an anonymous source claiming to be one of 50 "semi-finalists" trying to make the final cut, There was only supposed to be 14 singers for the show, not 15. The source claims to have contracts clearly stating the 14 number. They also say that when the show started the "extra" singer wasn't even a part of the 50 singers trying to get on the show.

This "extra" singer is Mig Ayesa, an Australian singer living in London. If you read the message boards for the show, you see plenty of posts saying there is something that seems off. Mig is the topic of many conspiracy theories.

Here are links to websites that gave rise to the idea that the show hasn't been "real" from the beginning:

This is a Chicago based website that talks about the two hometown favorites, Marty & Jessica.

http://www.chicagoist.com/archives/2005/08/11/preemptive_sour_grapes.php

And this is the message board that gave rise to the "pre-emptive sour grapes" article.

http://www.velvetrope.com/

Something has seemed wrong about this show from the beginning. I am a musician and I sing. I have been blessed with an ear that can tell perfect pitch or not. I can pick apart the different parts of a song and tell you what is off.

What has been off most of the time is the criticism given by Co-host, Dave Navarro and from the band, INXS. They unfairly criticized performances that I could tell were spot-on. They raved about performances that I knew were way off. And I'm not going to get into how they mistreated my favorite, Heather Luttrell.

But the most unfair criticism goes to J.D. Fortune. From the first show Dave Navarro was on his case. But J.D. repeatedly came back with great performances. His personality might rub people the wrong way, but talent-wise he is everything you would want for a frontman/lead singer.

Last night's show was a blatant example that this show is staged. The first song was all 5 remaining contestants singing a song with INXS & Dave Navarro playing the music. It went off way to smooth. People had solos and nobody stepped on another's toes (so to speak) with the way they sang or moved on stage. It was obviously rehearsed, but it was played for tv like it was the spontaneous idea of Dave Navarro.

There is a law about "truth in advertising", there should be a law about "realness" in a show billed as a "reality" show. We, the public, are being lied to by the producers of this show, by INXS, and by the co-hosts. The contestants (all but the "extra" , 15th contestant) might - I say MIGHT, be in the dark, but it's clear that this show is following a plan.

Mark Burnett, the Executive Producer of this, and several other "reality" shows, is allegedly being sued by writers who say they aren't being properly compensated in salary for the work they are doing on his reality shows. If there are writers on a reality show, how "real" can it be?

On the show "The Apprentice" they film every contestant doing the dreaded "walk of shame" that signified being "fired" at the beginning of the shooting. This means that there is footage of every winner having the "you're fired" walk in existence somewhere. If you look closely when someone is fired, they frequently have a different hairstyle when they enter the cab, from when they leave the boardroom. Another tidbit is that when someone gets in the elevator to "go home" the elevator doesn't take them to the street. It's staged to "look" that way. See, many reality shows sequester the "losers" somewhere so that the public doesn't get inside information ahead of time. Another, not well known fact, is that the "boardroom" isn't above the apartment that houses the contestants - it's right beside it. Contestants can get a slight hint of what's going on because you can hear some of the sound coming from the boardroom.

Some have speculated that the spot was filled ahead of time, and that this show is just a way to get the public adjusted to a new singer for the band. The voting is just a way to get the public involved - to make them feel like they are a part of the process. What appears to be true is that the band saves contestants they want to keep, even if the public disagrees with them.

I noticed a disclaimer on "The Apprentice" during the final credits. It says something to the effect that Mr Trump makes the decision of who to "fire", but that he consults the shows writers/producers beforehand. This could only be to see which choice best fits what would be best for ratings & the show - not who the best contestant really is.

Mark Burnett created "The Apprentice", "Survivor" (the show that has the writers upset with their pay that they want to sue), and "Rockstar:INXS". These three shows are at the center of a controversy of how "real" reality television is.

If Mig Ayesa wins this competition, then that will be a black mark on the concept of "reality". If Mig was already given the spot before the show began, then there should be repercussions for such dishonest actions by all involved with perpetrating a fraud. We never see an actual vote tally. We never see the envelope that Co-host Brooke Burke reads from. For all we know the results are "rigged". (which, by the way, is a word that the Rockstar:INXS message boards censor. why is that?)

But, as Dennis Miller used to say: "That's just my opinion... I could be wrong."

Reality Snoop:
I have some major righteous indignation going on.

The regular posters here are people with a commonality of enjoying Dave's music and positive attitude. We also tend to be an intelligent lot who are capable of expressing ourselves and question things that concern us. Yet you seem to think that we need a novel to spoon feed us your conclusions and "findings". If you look hard enough you can find "evidence" of just about anything on the web.

It's a shame that you felt the need to post your negativity here.

I see nothing wrong with people rehearsing a number prior to playing...that IS what performers usually do, no? In order to pull a show off, writers are needed, as well as producers and other tech people...hello! If they did not have them, it would be chaos! There are certain parameters that are followed...a loose script, perhaps?

What's up with this last post? I don't see what this person is claiming about the rigging. Maybe I am too naive?

Hey Reality Snoop

Just what the world needs... another conspiracy theorist. If all you want to do is blame and accuse...don't watch the fuckin show. Last time I watched... JD has had a few stinkers as well as everyone. Also, JD's song sounded like INXS. Does that make it a JD original or an INXS original. I give cudos for those who sang from their heart and gave their own originals to the show.

My Opinion
