Vegas Airport - Oh, the Zumanity!

“At this time we would like to invite those passengers with small children under the age of five years to board the aircraft. Naturally, I say to Riss, “Come on… That’s us. “What are you talking about? We don’t have any small children under the age of five. “Oh no? I reply, “Well, then what about those babies? “What babies? “Right there, under your blouse. I don’t know if it was the lack of sleep, the coffee or the sensory overload from the lights and sounds of Las Vegas, but we thought it was the funniest thing we had ever heard. We seriously laughed for about 25 minutes to the point of delirium.

So, the tournament. I played for about an hour and got bounced, but it was all good. The whole thing was won by this 22 year old kid who was really good. I am glad he won it. Later at the after party, he got in the hot tub with two of Gene's naked girl friends. All in all, he won a whole poker tournament, took home $10,000.00, hung with his favorite musician (Jerry Cantrell), hit a Vegas private after party at The Palms "Real World" Suite and went skinny dipping with two young naked hot blonde chicks. Not a bad evening at 22. Lemme tell you, he had the time of his life. I know this because at one point I asked him, "Are you having the time of your life?" He shouted, "Yeah!" with this huge grin on his face. As much as it was an evening of debauchery and dereliction, as well as a course in self indulgence and vices, I have to say that it was really, very heart warming. Jerry and I were talking about it on the plane ride home and we agreed that seeing a kid like that have some dreams come true is the very reason we do stuff like this.

Dave: coffee whore or connoisseur? Does your housekeeper make your coffee the night before and set it to auto or do you make coffee yourself at home or go to the nearest Shell station and pick up a cup of joe?

Posted by: Elise at August 27, 2005 10:57 AM

Hi Dave
I will take it you made it and the game is on. Have a great time! I hope the trip isn't as bad on the way back home.

Luck to you!

Hi Dave, Cool photo. Just curios how many packs of cigs a day do you smoke. I smoked for 35 years and got up one day and said I had enough and quite. That was 1 1/2 years ago.

Hey Dave,
Did you win?

~~~QUESTION FOR THE SUNDAY 10~~~
Did you or any of your friends ever get cast by Cynthia Plaster Caster? We were watching the most shocking moments on VH1 and inquiring minds want to know...
Love,
Sue
Alright Dave. Way to crack one of the funniest jokes I've heard in a while!
Question for the Sunday 10
Do you own any 7 string guitars?
Be well,
Will you offer 6767 shirts w/ sleeves and sleeveless, like the one you wore on Rock Star, or did you just take some scissors to it?
Alright, back to weekend chores...
Posted by: Al at August 27, 2005 11:36 AM
Thanks for the laugh!
Posted by: Laurs at August 27, 2005 11:39 AM
Great that you made it. Didja sleep any? I dont know that people go to Vegas to sleep, I bet the boys were to hang with. How were the contest winners? What was your best hand and did you go all the way with it or fold? I like to think i can bluff but i dont have a good poker face. (Geez dont i sound like a five year old. Why is the sky blue...Daddy where does the moon go at noon? lol) OKay i type like one too Anyway...hopes you had a blast.
p.s. With that joke and the "Ty-riffic" thing your on a roll,son!
Posted by: Rach at August 27, 2005 12:41 PM
Yeah, not really that funny. How about a guy comes home from a bar drunk out his mind carrying a live chicken. His wife opens the door and screams "What the hell are you doing?" The man replies "I just wanted to show you the pig I was fucking." She says "that's not a pig, it's a chicken." He replies "I was talking to the chicken."
Posted by: andy at August 27, 2005 12:42 PM
Dave, I'm going to the first day of my senior year of high school in a lime green pimp suit. What's the craziest thing you ever did in school? And should I wear the pimp suit to my band's 3rd gig? lol
Posted by: Dan at August 27, 2005 12:42 PM
That was pretty funny, I think we have all had those moments where well laugh ourselves silly.
So who won the poker game? Did you do any other gambling? Have a good day and I can't wait to hear CFR tonight.
Funny man!
Posted by: Claudinha at August 27, 2005 03:24 PM
guess what Im listening to dude, gonna type the lyrics for you, a tribute to your Vegas trip!
Diamonds and dust
Poor man last, rich man first
Lambourginis, caviar
Dry martinis, Shangri-La
I got a burning feeling
Deep inside of me
It's yearning
But I'm going to set it free
I'm going in to sin city
I'm gonna win in sin city
Where the lights are bright
Do the town tonight
I'm gonna win in sin city
Ladders and snakes
Ladders give, snakes take
Rich man, poor man, beggarman, thief
Ain't got a hope in hell, that's my belief
Fingers Freddy, Diamond Jim
They're getting ready,
Look out I'm coming in
So spin that wheel, cut that pack
And roll those loaded dice
Bring on the dancing girls
And put the champaign on ice
I'm going in to sin city
I'm gonna win in sin city
Where the lights are bright
Do the town tonight
I'm gonna win in sin city
I think that's about right, good luck there Dave!
god, the ass kissing around here is insane
Posted by: bored at August 27, 2005 03:55 PM
Hey Dave.
I'm loving the show and want to know 2 things. 1. why not get some of the guys from ROCKSTAR:INXS to lay down the vocals for a song or two for the Camp Freddy CD? Marty can sing anything & make it sound good. Sure he looks a wee bit INTENSE when he does it, but he could pull it off. The second thing is kind of like word association. When I say Jeff Beck what do you think of? (It can be more than one word) Eagerly awaiting the CF & Panic CDs
Posted by: Teener at August 27, 2005 04:09 PM
Dave,
I was just checking in with the news section of your site and noticed the tres cool poster advertising your upcoming gig with Camp Freddy. I can never get to LA for any cool shows, or even the tapings of Rockstar. I wish I could. I have only ever seen you once and I had to travel 12 hours to get there. Anyway, I was wondering, is there anyway I could score a copy of that poster? I'd buy it, pay for the shipping and the like. Do you have any kicking about? Do you know where I could get one? Of course I'd love it if it were signed by the troop but just having it on my wall would make my year!!!!
Please let me know...
Stuck up in Canada!!!
Love you guys!
Hey Dave,
This is in regards to the last post... cuz I missed it... sorry.
I think its wicked that you like physics enough to have it come into your head at some point during one of those... 'holy freak, if I have to wait here another second' meditative states.
I'm a physics student... its the sm science... where... people like the brain pain. Thanks for bringing it to a 'intellectualism' is cool place... we can use all the help we can get. :)
If you ever wanna discuss the validity of string theory... lemme know.
Dawn.
Ah, the Zumanity...Dave, you are funny beyond words, way to get in a Cirque de Soleil reference a la the Hindenburg..do you know how many levels of intelligence it takes to even MAKE that joke?
VH1 has been running this week's Rockstar shows tonight.. check your contract for royalties... and I saw you do a promo, up on that fabulous stage... tantalyzing to see you up there, hoping we will get a chance to see you, INXS, and the fabulous house band rock out on the final show - right?
"oh, the Zumanity!"
or the a la with a twist, Newman from Seinfeld common phrase - "oh the humanity!" (which would've been funny too, in my book)
Posted by: rick in SF at August 27, 2005 08:34 PM
That is so awesome about the boy who won!! He was talking about it at Jerry Cantrell's website, how excited he was, how he couldn't believe he was actually going to meet you guys.
My normally jaded soul feels really good right now! Nice guys don't always finish last, sometimes they get to take a dip in a hot tub with hot naked girls!
love
Dave,
Any chance of some larger size shirts? Would love to be representing but 195 pounds doesn't go well into a Medium, unless you wear it with spandex...ha ha
Does anyone here paint or draw or create anything of the sort?
Ever felt bummed out because you want to create yet it doesn't flow like you want it to? I have spent the past few hours trying. I had to stop out of frustration...taking a break... it's cool that I can express those thoughts here, that is if no one minds :) I need some inspiration...
