Update

Thanx to Cori for the photo.

PcrLast week's CFR loaded now!

The Panic Channel Radio

Well, another elimination show has come and gone and we bid a farewell to Jessica. The last week or so she has really come a long way and improved a great deal, but ultimately she wasn't right for INXS and the saga continues. Now it looks as though the rest of the show is gonna be really hard to call. Mig has really stepped it up with the solo piano version of Baby I Love Your Way. J.D. showed real initiative when he broke away from his team to write his own song. Yeah, he broke the "rules", but so what? After all, it IS rock and roll. Deanna really did a killer job on her INXS song, Suzie did too. Marty and Jordis? Well, they are, after all, Marty and Jordis. I was surprised that TY fell towards the bottom, but perhaps he can redeem himself. I wonder if Stop/Go had anything to do with it.

Tonight I went up to the house to present the new clinic. This should be interesting. Tomorrow I am doing some MSNBC thing. Rita Cosby Live & Direct. They describe it as follows: "Get a hard-hitting, no-nonsense news program. It brings viewers stories they won't see anywhere else." Oh Rita, there will be nonsense! There will be. I'm sure they will want to talk about the show and poker and other entertainment stuff, but I really just want to ask her about the Jackson jurors and the California man who ran over a flock of pet ducks. I hear the community is outraged. As well they should be! Sure, ducks don't have it as hard as penguins, but it can't be that easy for them. Either way, I am just glad to be doing something on MSNBC. That alone makes me feel as though I were an actual adult.

1. Dave, what do you think about the theory that YOU are really Molly?

That's crazy! I use spell check.

2. Every woman should have a husband like you.

Maybe we'll move to Utah. I'll see what I can do.

Put me on the list for Utah :)
Not surprised to see Jessica go, but it must be really hard for INXS by this point to choose...Dave, don't forget to find out the CF details for Vanity Fair!!

Sue

Hi Dave!

Can´t you come closer to where I live? There must be a similuar place somewhere in Europe. :)

Question: When you play your guitar, do you ever come close to feeling somewhat of a sexual feeling? Because to me, it really looks like you´re having sex with the thing....and that´s a dead object...my, my, my....what it wouldn´t be like to replace it!

Love always, Emelie

Hey Dave
Ducks are rad. I saw The Island and it was not so rad.
Land of the Dead owned but it was still the worst of the series.

"That's crazy! I use spell check."

Hey Dave, i just caught you. You MUST be Molly. Because you DID misspell "Stop/Go" (Sotp?) in the very same post in which you made that statement.

Ha! Busted!

Posted by: Six7Six7 at August 18, 2005 03:42 AM

Jim Cramer is on CNBC, the sister station?, and he's far from an adult. He's a freakin psycho. But I do love him so. I guess Rita's show is replacing McEnroe? He definitely wasn't an adult but I bet he can still whack a fierce tennis ball.
Have a good show Man! Oh, and if Jessica is feeling lonely and rejected..ummm...nevermind :)

Posted by: Lyn at August 18, 2005 03:46 AM

Goodmorning, Dave!

What a show it was last night, but was it a suprise? How many times was she in the bottom three? I felt bad, but who hadn't expected that before.

So, what is today's clinic?

Utah, hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Always,
me

Just wanted to say hi, Molly. XOXOX's!

Oh yeah, I heard Frusciante cover "Maybe" by The Chantels (on a RHCP DVD), and holy shit(!) he rocked it! I was TOTALLY stoked when I heard it.

Do you listen to anything from that far back? And if so, have you ever covered anything from then?

Posted by: Jenn at August 18, 2005 04:25 AM

(set to the tune of "The Bed" by none other than Mr. Navarro) That was the day, when Jessica left and I said oh,oh...oh,oh..oh,oh...what a feeling. :(

Dave,

I want to say great job! Keep bringing the love. Regarding Ty he is awesome. I am a fan but the whole singing of Maggie May and sticking his tongue out while wearing bob hope type pants during the song that was kinda gross. He's got talent and there was no need for him to stick his tongue out three times for that song. I kept picturing Rob Stewart singing the song and sticking his tongue out. The intentions of that song the tongue move was just creepy. Tell the boy when singing the soft, romantic stuff no tongue!

Dave,

My girl and I are coming over to California next year for a few months. Can you (or anyone) recomend some must see places. I'm fed up with everyone giving the typical tourist sites. I want some rock n roll places. I'd like to point out that I'm not asking for scary stalker things where you hang out. Just some things to see. For example I'm getting a tattoo where should I get it? What clubs? Bars? Music shops? Camp Freddy gigs? (hehe) Anything??????

Help?

Oh and also if we come over and really like it then we madly want to move there. Only thing is impossible visa restrictions so the only way is to get a job before we move and the visa comes with it!!

So can I have a job?

Oh well worth a try.

Hi Dave:

My personal feeling? Suzie and Ty might very well be the next two rockers to go: Am I wrong?
Won't be able to watch next week show. I'll be having surgery Tuesday, trying to get my voice back, which I lost in an accident fourteen months ago. Five surgeries, and fourteen months of living hell later. I finally hope to hear the sound of my own voice again. Will have to tape the show :-)

A good day all!

Hi again Dave:

1) Forget about Utah: The Caribbean is the place! White sandy beaches; nice breeze from the blue Caribbean sea, not to forget the sun and the fun.

2) Yes Soph: It's a flock of ducks.

Good day all,

Sylviane

Hey Dave and all-

You should create a reality show Guitar Camp.
And I disagree with you on some of the Rockstar comments about JD leaving his team to do his own song and breaking the rules , "It IS afrerall rock n' roll" I think he should have stayed with the group. And you letting him do his song..*gasp*
That's just what he wants--all the attention. I would have made him sing the groups song while sitting alone in the corner.
I just get this vision in my head of you yelling at me saying "FRI, you don't know rock n' roll, I DO!"
But it's ok...I'm only discussing. :)
Have a great day everyone!

Dave,
If you get the chance, try to find some clips of Rita Cosby, cos guaranteed her voice is going to freak you out. It's just a tad on the deep side. Is she female? That has yet to be determined :-)

Cheers

Dave,

Are you just being nice about JD's behavior on the show because he's good for ratings? He's definitely the most entertaining personality on the show, so I wonder what will happen to him after the show. You should definitely get a show of your own on TV!

HI DAVE! HI ALL!! Dave you are doing a great job on the show I LOVE IT! Count me in on that Utah thing!

DAVE, during the dark time in your life it seems that soooo many people took advantage of you. Do you feel like people still take advantage of you now, just on a much higher level?

Dave, love the show (and seeing you!). I HATE reality shows, but this one is so uplifting and encouraging. I don't like the twist that Brooke did last night making Ty think he was in the bottom three. That's the second time that has happened. Was that her idea? On another subject, in the song "Venus in Fur" what is meant by the many references to "Severin"?

Okay, so I tried to check out RS:INXS live chat (this is thursday, so I assume it's today?) with Jessica, but it just told me chat's been shut down in the U.K. but I not in da U.K, mon! First they boot that chick, now this? RS:INXS is fit to burn!! Personally, Dave, I blame you as I never would have even considered watching this show If you weren't there to lend it a shred of credibility! Oh well! :)

Posted by: Spencer at August 18, 2005 11:23 AM

Dave:

At the INXS website, Tim Farris mentioned that they deliberate in the green room on Wednesdays.

So, obviously, they're taking more than a three-minute commercial break to decide the fate of the singers.

Can you tell us how long they REALLY deliberate for?

Are they gone for 10 minutes? 20 minutes?

Are they back there reviewing the tapes of the performances?

How long are they really discussing the decision amongst themselves?

"About that picture just under the word "Update". By any chance is that your wife Carmen's hand? Just thought I'd ask."

Hello William...Welcome!!! That is my hand...our dear family-member Wendybird made some Panic Channel buttons, she was kind enought to share them so I have a pink/black one, which my manicurist used as a guide to free-hand the logo on my nails...I posted a link to that photo the other day cause I thought it was cute, wanted to share and especially wanted Wendybird to see it, and Dave was sweet enough to put it up there today.

Cori

PS: And Welcome to all of our new friends :)

Cori’s nails, and my pumpkin av are making me nostalgic! Remember how much fun we had with the Agency artwork and the flood of submissions last year? Banners, etc. Loved the sand TPC symbol, was that ylais? And the crop circle. Reminiscing... Last fall was really fun, and fall is my fave season, so hopefully this one will be too!
Love,

Dave, I drive by that car wash every day. I feel bad and would like to do bodely damage to the person that fucked with those ducks.

Hey I was wondering what you workout consisted of and if you are on any special diet (except $40 cups of coffee)

Posted by: Brian at August 18, 2005 01:20 PM

Cool blog, Dave! I love the show, but I have a question: In the last elimination, all three INXS songs were songs already used in a previous elimination. Why are they recycling songs already? There are so many "hits" we haven't heard yet. In fact, I thought the acoustic thing would have been perfect for "Not Enough Time," to name one.

Have fun on MSNBC -- I hope you get to ask about the Jackson jurors because I want to know what their deal is too.

Stop/Go! Heh.

Who would win in a fight? Charles Nelson Rielly or Andrew Llyod Webber

Posted by: Jim at August 18, 2005 01:40 PM

Mr. Sheffield would win!

Posted by: SweetMelis at August 18, 2005 01:46 PM

Lately, my husband enjoys singing "Stop/Go" just to get under my skin. Then I can't get it out of my head for awhile. That was truly a pathetic song. I am a mom in the midwest (therefore: uncool) and even I thought that song was pathetic. How could a true rocker write such lame lyrics?? But, hey, the teamwork was good. I am addicted to the show, though. Great work.

Posted by: Maddy at August 18, 2005 02:01 PM

" J.D. showed real initiative when he broke away from his team to write his own song. Yeah, he broke the "rules", but so what? After all, it IS rock and roll."

With all due respect, isn't that really so much caca? I mean, if JD's song had really sucked big, you guys would have been ripping him a new one about breaking the rules, so let's not pretend otherwise. But hey, I know he makes for good TV, so he gets cut a little slack for now. However, I'd be surprised if OB:INXS thought twice about bringing on board someone as unreliable (I was going to say "unstable")as JD. But that's just my opinion.

I am home where I can laugh and not be fired for the commotion. We know you are a one of a kind. What a shame! I still think the Utah bit is funny. I actually shared your blog today and had to explain it. Sort of defeated the humor. Oh well.

You and Carmen are too sweet to do Utah. I thought she's fortunate to have you, but I guess you feel the same about her too. Sweet.

Posted by: shawna at August 18, 2005 05:57 PM

I'm glad that you respect JD's initiative but what is more important is his strength of character and integrity. He is true to himself and he is the most competitive BECAUSE he wants this so badly- he has his own strategy yet he still has enough integrity to not want to attach his name to an inferior product (which SHOULD be extremely important to INXS), knowing that people are not going to appreciate his actions. I have so much respect for him because I would do the same: he has enough confidence to walk his own path when his voice is being ignored. I think Jordis is the infexible and controlling one- teamwork is not ignoring people. Which is why INXS wouldn't have this problem with him, they are mature and would at least listen to his thoughts.

Having said this, I am obviously a JD supporter, why in the world did you all bash his "As Tears Go By"? Have you listened to the performance again? His voice was great- raw and real but with the sexiest yet most soothing tone- the contrast that makes him a true artist. His ability to rev you up and calm you down in the same line is unparalled.

He and Marty are the only two "rock stars", the others are all very talented but they don't ooze rock, like these two. I think that it appears like INXS has already chosen MiG.

After Tuesday night, I get the feeling that you and INXS don't like JD, or are trying to deflate that huge ego of his, therefore I don't see him winning, which IS INXS's loss because he has SUPERSTAR written all over him. I think that he (and the winner) will be the only contestants that will be remembered from this show- I do, however, wish them all the best of luck because they are a talented group of people.

I don't know if you read this far down the list but I thought I'd give it a try.
Trent Reznor has said (in his q&a's) that he'd get some plus size tee's for his store to hook up the larger fans. Any plans of doing the same?! I'd love a 67 tee but there's no way a med or large would fit my fat ass! lol

Actually...it's a joint effort...Julie does a kick-ass job on my nails and Sarah does just the art...she is sooo amazing...you should see the South Park characters she does....so perfectly done on each little nail!!! All free-hand too...she's the real deal :D

The "House Band" on the show... whenever they play an INXS song they play it totaally different to the original recording. Its not in the same key, its completely stripped down. Is this to make singing the songs more challenging for the contestants who know the songs by heart?

Posted by: Kevin at August 18, 2005 06:38 PM

Nice site revamp! The CF videos kick ass, I now see why you do it. The video of the colonic is, to say the least, the epitimy of reality TV.

I was cruising the web watching videos and I want to reccomend only 1. It's on MSN, it's "I need you tonight" by Xiren. It reminds me of old INXS and U2, and it totally kicks my ass. I bawled, again (I miss him. How can you miss a person so much when you never really got the chance to know him? That really sucks). I might have chatted with that guy once upon a time. Pretty sure I did. I am so in love with this singers voice.

Fucking emo, making me cry. Haha. Ah life, I don't regret it all, just all my mistakes.

(Tell them not to bring their goof troop around anymore, really bringing them in to Blockbusters, where I worked, ya how nice! Make me feel like an even bigger retard than I already am. Jerks. I won't write for them, and they can't take what I don't make.Tired of being used and getting nothing out of it.)

Nice to see you happy. Take care.
