This Just In

This just in: The Rita Cosby Live & Direct appearance on MSNBC has been postponed as breaking coverage of the BTK case continues. I will post when there has been a rescheduling.

Our prayers go out to the victims and their families.

Also, last week's VH1 Rockstar has been added to the 6767TV if anyone is interested.

Am I the only one who is completely lost here? LOL

oh bloody hell!

No Rockstar tonight...wish Tommy's College days were on 3 x a week too!

I was watching the sentencing today. I can't even describe the words for this person.
But like other people like this-he may just see his demise while he is in jail.

It's sad about that case. Some peoples' children. um, it said that Davo was going to be on some msn news program, but as he said it has been rescheduled...
oh I found Xirens site. xiren.net and they have a better video quality on it. I will have to buy his cd's.

(that blockbuster thing happened like early in the year... but whatever-- was that to creep me out or to piss me off?? Achieved both.)

Posted by: I donno at August 18, 2005 08:48 PM

I'm disappointed, maybe you didn't read the testimony during sentencing, with the brother and sister that came home to find their mother, father, brother and sister murdered. oh well, what do we care, cool pic, right?

too bad there isn't a proper little photoshop joke for other mother murderers.

Posted by: notmolly at August 18, 2005 08:53 PM

hey Dave - do you have any say in choosing which songs the rockers (*everyone take a shot*) will sing? i would give anything to hear one of the ladies (particularly Jordis) do Concrete Blonde's "Joey." any chance????

Hey Dave,
That sucks I actually was looking forward to that, please let us know about the re-scheduling. Also do you watch the UFC? Oh yeah and one more thing I know you are checking out DVD box sets, so I highly reccomend "The 'L' Word" I just know you and Carmen will love it.

(Just getting it, after seeing the new posts...)
Ohhhh! Got it. I haven't been following the case too closely, so I didn't put 2 and 2 together... but I thought that guy looked familiar.

OK, so I know the guy is a scumbag and deserves to rot in hell, but...

That other pic was HILARIOUS!! LMAO

Yeah, we blondes can be slow sometimes. :)

Thanx to notmolly for the comment. Having been through this myself, my humor's intention was not aimed at the families.

Posted by: DN6767 at August 18, 2005 09:14 PM

^^ No sweat, Dave. Most of us understand that. ^^

People like that guy, Rader, deserve all the pain, misery... and ridicule...they can get!

Posted by: Denise at August 18, 2005 09:21 PM

I'm totally unfamiliar with this case. I avoid the news. I cry and get angry too much watching it. :S
(Plus it's US news.)

Posted by: ylais at August 18, 2005 09:36 PM

I hope that once they get this Rader character sentenced, and locked away for life, the media will just close their files on him and never mention him again. He gets a charge out of the notoriety of his whole BTK M.O. He is a cold hearted killer and should not get the recognition he seems to crave. Wichita is not far from where I live and I've heard more than I care to hear about him already. The BTK Killer been in the news here for years.

Off the subject of a murderer.

Has anybody ever told you that you and Carmen are strangers? That's the read I've always gotten from seeing you two. Not soulmates but very compatable strangers. This is your first meeting in all these lives and universes I feel.

How exciting that must be or feel. I dunno.

Like I said just a strong read I get of a beautiful couple.

warmest regards

Wow, this is wild! I sure hope you read this & maybe respond to it, if you would like... I never actually thought I would have a chance to come in contact with the legendary Dave Navarro...Wow! You are one of the only people that I would be completely star-struck with... I went to go see the Chili Peppers in concert (when you were still with him, on "one hot minute" tour) & wow you were so much hotter in person!! The very cool thing about that show was I got the chance to meet Flea!! He's a very cool, down to earth guy & a very awesome bass player!! All the guys I've ever dated have always played the bass so I know the most about that instrument.. I sure hope that I don't sound like some dumb teenage girl because I'm not.. I am actually not sure if this will go through or not so I am not trying to write a novel or anything.. which reminds me that when I was 16 (9 yrs ago), I wrote a short story about meeting you at a RHCP concert & you taking me backstage & you letting me pick out your outfit for you & other things.. (it's not sexual in anyway.. for 1--my mind didn't think like that back then--I was still a virgin & didn't think about sex like I do now & for 2--it was a school assignment, sort of, I was supposed to write for the first 5 minutes of my english class.. most people wrote about their day or something like that.. Me.. I picked a short story about the man of my dreams back then.. Even though I still think you are very hot & adorable, I know that you have met your soulmate & let me see this you look so much happier in pictures & your general outlook on life now that you have Carmen in your life... Cheers!) and My soulmate, well, I'll know when I find him... Good luck with everyhing you do & I so hope you respond to this.. It will make one of my dreams come true!

Deb, you're right I think. Getting off on the notoriety. I just got a horrible image in my mind then of this person. Plus that would be the MO for a person like that.
(Think I'll go watch some fantasy on TV now.)

Posted by: ylais at August 18, 2005 10:12 PM

Dave,

Just curious if any of your/Jane's Addiction/RHCP songs are automatically out of the running for the contestants. I for one would love to hear Jordis sing Jane Says.

While I'm here I'll give my obligatory $.02: America got it right - Jordis, Mig, and Marty are all tough contenders - the band will have a tough choice among those three. Ty is a close 4th and is one of the most talented people there, but my gut tells me that he is just a little more polished as opposed to a somewhat gritty kind of singer that would be good for INXS. All of the others for one reason or another just don't seem right for INXS, but not for lack of talent. There is really nothing bad to say about the rest of the contenders (except for JD's Survivor mentality ... but I have a strange suspicion he will grow in maturity as a result of this experience, or at least i hope). Bedtime for this bonzo

p.s. Not sure how you and Carmen feel about sitcoms, but Scrubs is absolutely an intelligent, funny, heartfelt show. The official Season 1 DVD is out now, but if you want to sit down and watch 4 seasons worth of TV in two months: bit torrent is the way to go (or so the unscrupulous people tell me).

Isn't Dave the best? Not only did he post an update on the Rita Cosby appearance for us , but what a compassionate attitude about it too. There's so much in life that we have no control over. Some people freak out over the things they can't control. But not Dave!

Posted by: Laura at August 18, 2005 10:13 PM

I who have been through it myself did find the humor part of what you posted. Totally knew it was not directed to anyone who had gone or is going through that type of nightmare.

Peace!

hey dave random question but i'm super curious to know, "is there any strange ritual that you might do like once a week or month that no one would ever expect from you?" so anyhow I love the book, love the cd, i love everything you do.

Dave, one more thing, i love that you added rockstar inxs to your 67tv it's brilliant!! for those without tivo. . . like me.

I found a really good web page for anyone intrested in non-commercial/university/college radio stations in Canada. I figure some people in bands here could use these site links especially the University radio ones...

My prayers are with the families and any who endure such a horrible thing. I agree with some above, the man is so cold and uncaring it is scary. I watched some of it, but it's emotional, very emotional to watch.

Peace and Love All

Goodmorning, Dave!

Please do let us know when you will be on Rita Cosby. That should be a most interesting interview. Did you change the picture? When I checked late yesterday, you hadn't posted yet. But I too watched the sentencing - nothing will make up for what he has done!

How does this kind of thing make you feel?

Positive engergy your way!

BTK is one sick puppy. and imho he shouldn't get any personal tv airplay/interviews. i actually think that by tv/magazines sensationalizing and turning serial killers into "famous for something" encourages others in a sort sick of way.

Hey Dave! Love your work! I'm posting from down in Sydney, Australia.....Just wanted to say my hubby and I are addicted to the show! Such awesome talent, absolutely loving Mig, Marty (how funny and yet genious was his Britney rendition! I was a bit uncomfortable like yourself- that it could be so good!) and Jordis....Jd's definately up there too but I don't know? A little edgy, creepy? (The episode where he held on to that girls hair just that little bit too long was sort of disturbing) Maybe that's a good thing?! It will be a sad day when it is all over : ( p.s Any chance of talking the guys into hearing some Silverchair??

Dave-
I got Tommy Lee's new cd Tommyland the ride, and it says you are a contributing artist but it doesn't say which songs you contributed on. It is bothering me for some reason. I NEED TO KNOW. ha

Anyways, looking good on RS:INXS. I think it was a good choice of yours to take it on. Like you said why miss out on opportunities in life. Fuck it take 'em all.

Peace,
Ron

Posted by: r3 at August 19, 2005 05:51 AM

^^^
Ron,
Dave answered this the other day:
"1. I saw your name on Tommy Lee's 'Tommyland the Ride CD'. Which song(s) did you play on?

I know I played on two tracks, but when we did it, I didn't catch the song titles, so to be honest, I don't really know. I think that one of them is the theme to his TV show, Tommy Lee Goes to College. Tommy came by the studio when The Panic Channel was recoding with producer, Scott Humphrey and we just threw up the Tommy tracks. I layed down a few guitars and that was that. "

Sarah...great idea girl...I would also love to hear Jordis sing a Concrete Blonde song...ahhh now Im flashing back to that album..them dayz were great!!

Posted by: Colleen at August 19, 2005 06:18 AM

Sorry Dave, I don't agree with you about JD, he's an immature, back stabbing, bratty idiot. The guys in INXS would have to be totally off their rockers to even *consider* someone as unstable as JD to front their band!

If he went outside of the box to do 'his' song, it was all clearly about him! Not joining the other singers was just another one of his sneaky 'spins' just to get more attention...it wasn't about truly caring about not wanting to perform an "inferior" song.

JD's singing 'style' is a cross between a Vegas lounge 'Elvis'....he's also been mimicking Jim Morrison & the late Mr. Hutchence! JD's hardly an original singer!

Lousy personality aside, I would think INXS DON'T want to hire a guy who sounds like Hutchence, what would be the point in that? Hopefully INXS want to move on....to perhaps have a singer with his own unique, fresh sound & approach.

Besides, hiring a singer who sounds like Hutchence would be an insult to his legacy.

BTW...Heather (the red head who was voted off) said in an interview that JD is a pathological liar. From his persona on the show, I certainly believe her.

I'm not going to ramble on about him here & clog up your blog. He's been getting enough press.....bad publicity is still publicity!

JD's continued presence on the show is ALL about reality show spin anyway.....most of us are quite aware of that. He totally tortured "As Tears Go By", yet remains?

JD please.....GO HOME~!!!

I never meant to imply that Dave was directing his dark humor at the victims or their families, just that to make light of ANY aspect of that monster seemed offensive. Humor is a funny thing, you know, and it's our own personal frame of reference that either finds it amusing or insulting. Dave, you are a man among men, thank you for taking my comment to heart. I keep thinking of the vow you made to Carmen on your wedding day,

To carry yourself in her absence as you would in her presence.

food for thought for all of us.

Dave you catch premiere of Celebrity Poker Showdown last night with Jonny Fairplay, Omarosa, Andrew Firestone, etc. Big fan of Jonny's all-time move on Survivor, but if there was ever a case for a muzzle or mute button, he had it.

Dave, wow, i was wondering what happened? My little sister(29 we are a year& four days apart)lives in Wichita with her husband and my niece Mellissia(9)...my sis was really scared when all of that started coming out about him, and that's my Dad's hometown...he said never to go it was a good for nothing town, i guess when you're raised there you have the right to say such things,i say that about Springfield Missouri...DON'T COME HERE IT WILL SUCK THE LIFE OUT OF YOU!!!!I should know i was born and raised here...pitty really anyhow....they are showing Tommy Lee tonight on VH1...and 3 ROCKSTARS in a row saturday evening....just in case anybody wanted to know...have a nice weekend Dave...hope you get a chance to play video games for like 6 hours in a row..or something you enjoy as much:) love ya all Shellee the hick from Srungfield Misery!!!!
