Sunday 10, anyone?

© Debbie Van Story

I am just about to leave for another performance show taping at CBS. This thing is winding down fast. So, we have loaded last week's CFR for Podcast. It's a trial run, but you can access it by clicking on the XML link on this page and then copying the URL into your software or iTunes using the Advanced menu bar. If for some reason you get feed://www.6767.com/index.xml, replace the "feed" with "http". That should do the trick. (browsers vary) Also, regarding upcoming chats, I will be posting when there are live chats, otherwise the room will be open during regular Camp Freddy hours.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Robert Chafino for his tireless efforts in getting 6767 so technologically up to date. Cheers, mate!

Also, our girl, Courtney is going through some life changes. If you get a chance, send her your prayers.

Tonights VH1 Rockstar is now showing on 6767TV.

Hey Dave,

I talked to you on The Idie last night I have to say that was a dream come true amd I just want to thank you for giving fans the oportunity to talk and listen to you on the radio. My name is Erin I'm in Ottawa Ontario so I had to call long distance last night but it was so worth it. You have no idea how much it means to me that you told me you'd pray for me when I told you I was starting to learn guitar because my 16th birthday was a few days ago and I wanted to be as good as you. I also called in later on and told you about how I'm becoming an actress and how Im looking forward to meeting you one day and that I tape INXS every night it's on. I keep you in my prayers always that each day when you wake up in the morning that you will be able to soar through the chalenges you are faced with and that you are able to treasue every minute you have with Carmen.

All the luck in the world to you

just wondering because im trying to decide between the 2.

I also wanted to say that I will keep Courtney in my prayers as well

I agree about keeping Courtney in our prayers...it's easy to laugh and poke fun at someone when they are down. We all have our challenges, whatever they may be, and hers are awesome.

Hopefully with the support and love her friends and daughter and fans give and offer, she will get to where she needs to be.

You are a good friend Dave!

Have a lovely sunny Sunday all!

Dave, good morning!!

Questions for a Sunday.
1. what was the last CD that you bought, in these days of downloading,I guess music would really have to grab you enough to want to put down the change.

2. I hear Carmen is doing the voice of Six on Tripping the Rift, taking over for Gina Gershon, any chance you would be interested in voice overs, and, if so, what kind of animated character do you see yourself as, you know it would have to be one sexy beast!

3.Do you have online access at the Indie studios? Any chance of you popping in to your chat room during CFR?

I'm watching Bread and Roses on IFC, George Lopez is playing one mean boss, awesome flick.

I was THERE the night of that kiss, amazing is right!
love to you and yours, Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks for sharing your life with us here...makes us feel (well I can't speak for everyone, but me anyway) like we're part of the family.

I remember when Courtney opened for Jane's at the Hollywood Bowl a couple years back. She rocked, but seemed determined to sabotage the show, going long, revealing some of the theatrics you guys had planned, and ultimately having to be carried off the stage after the sound had been cut, which cut into Janes' set, as you know, the Bowl has a fairly strict curfew.

It was a beautiful set on the second (mini) stage in the middle when everyone got to do there own thing...Perry called Pete up to do Pets, he performed one of his solos, and even though curfew was approaching and the audience, probably would have preferred more Janes' music, Perry said "How about one from Dave?", and you played a track from your solo album. (First time I heard you sing live [I have your album of course.]) When you were finished, you said "I love you Perry" and then, as you guys were doing during this last tour and Lolla, you all sort of embraced and bowed to the audience, like good old friends...nothing but love in the air.

So, my real question: do you still love Perry?

I hope so, he says in his recent comments (Satellite Party Interview viewable from the SBC Blue Room or transcript on Xiola or Ain't No Right) that the break of Janes was a surprise to him...That band has played such an important part of creating the soundtrack of my life since the late 80's, and it definitely saddens me that I may not hear anything from you all again, it saddens me more that you just may not be friends anymore.

I'm just some guy reading your blog, a fan at best...so please forgive my obnoxiousness in even asking; but I guess part of opening up your life in a blog, is people like me suddenly feeling like I'm connected, a part of it, like I somehow have the right to ask such questions. Sorry if that's not the case.

Anyway, love you, all your projects, and the positive vibe you lovingly share with us.

Peace,

Rick

Hey Dave....if you want to smoke ......then smoke...i don't think anyone should be on your case for doing it...we shall all be sick with something someday...we might as well enjoy life while we are at it? i just don't see why people have to be that way....you should this and you should that...maybe i'm just being touchie? i went to church today for some odd reason...i really don't get a good vibe in a baptist church...just seems so cold...i really have yet to feel his presense in church that labels its self...the worship part...the music that's where you get his attention...a heat comes over you as you are just standing there with your arms raised singing out to him and just trying to seek his face.....nothing like it i can tell ya the holly rollers got it right when they broke away from the church and started their own..charismatic i think is what they call themselves.....the music is just so much more...it's like being in a concert....they have a whole band....it's wow....well i shall get off my soap box....as always you ALL are always in my prayers.....i do hope she beats this court crap..why can't they just let us live? ya know? i love you guyz...take care and have a nice week...i'll try to check back in if you all are going to do a sunday 10....i like those......shellee ldc....

when you started playing guitar, how did you decide which guitar/ effects/ amp to buy seeing as they arent the cheapest thing to get started on.

personally i got a cheap setup and then added to it year by year untill i have the best setup that i can afford at the moment.

i was just wondering how you did it then and how if anything that has changed since you started to become successful. cheers!

Dave: Tell the people at Rock Star:INXS that "Encore Polling" is fucking stupid.

We don't want to see them perform the same old songs, over and over.

We want new songs. New energy.

(That's why every "wildcard" selection is winning by a landslide. People want to see each contestant perform a tune he or she hasn't already sung.)
__

Same goes for Wednesday.

With so many great INXS songs, I can't believe they're already repeating tunes on elimination night.
__

Yeah, I'm sure you're gonna go right out and talk to Mark Burnett about this.

Thanks anyway.

I hope she gets back into music in her own way...
Also do some acting - she's good...

Years ago I saw her in Hole open up for Smashing Pumpkins at a small club in SF good...

During this time she needs all the human emotional support she can get, especially since the press these days loves it when one falls/crashes and burns so they have a story (which is sad)...

I'm just happy for that she got her daughter back...

Hey Dave and 67 fam,
Wow looks like you are trying to go for an open mouth kiss Dave. :P I have seen a few things about what is going on with Courtney, and my thoughts and prayers have been going to her for awhile now. She is a cool chick just misunderstood alot I think.

I do have a couple wuestions for you though.

1. I saw that in the photo shoot you and Carmen did last year with Blender, you were wearing a belt buckle and Carmen was wearing a bracelet that had the same design. Did you guys bye those for eachother or were they gifts from Blender?

2. Have you ever been snow boarding or skiing? and if so did you like it?

Thanks Dave and All,
Helena

Could we, perhaps, get a sound clip of you cursing? I have Floundering and have heard a 'fuck' out of you before, but for some reason it would make my little heart burst to hear you rip a string of obscenities. I've heard (probably on this site) that you have a filthy mouth and would like documentation of this. I don't know. I'm a New Yorker and in my family "fuck you" is as commonplace as "bless you" - can't say we're not polite even though we curse like seamen. To keep it PG, you can certainly send it to me via email if you decide to go for it.

Uhhh, have a great day :)

I saw Courtney on the Pamela roast and was thinking that maybe she was having a hard time in life. I'm sure she will be fine with the love and support of friends like you and Carmen. Prayers her way! Hang in there Courtney! ~Peg-TX

Hey Dave...here's a few questions for you to consider for Sunday 10 :)

~After seeing how moved you were by Mig's performance, I thought of this question. What was the most romantic thing you or carmen have ever done for each other?

~If you could pick 3 bands or solo artists (dead or alive) to go on tour with in a "dream tour" then who would they be?

~Who are your guitar idols/influences.

Yeah, Sunday 10!

1) Aside from your daily exercising, do you have a favorite therapy for relieving muscle tension/strains, such as for the back?
2) Next TPC gig???

Today's anniversary day, so off to take the little lady out for dinner. Enjoy the rest of the weekend Dave & all. -al

Dave,

I saw THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN last night and I gotta say that it's absolutely hilarious. The waxing scene is worth the price of admission.

Sunday Questions:
¿Did you get a chance to see THE ARISTOCRATS?
¿Dennis Quaid or Jeff Bridges?
¿Lauren Hutton or Jessica Lange?
¿The Deer Hunter or Raging Bull?

I am on vacation this week and I plan on seeing the following movies:
STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE SITH
WEDDING CRASHERS
RED EYE
BROKEN FLOWERS

Have a great day!

Hi Dave & friends,

I hope everyone is well.

Whatever Courtney is going through, I pray that she finds strenght, perspective, clarity, and peace. I hope she realizes how blessed she is. Blessed to have great friends like you; an adorable daughter from a talented, beautiful father; talent; influence; the love and respect of millions of fans; amazing, exciting life experiences that most of us can only dream about; courage; balls; and most of all, the gift of life. Of course, none of us are in her shoes, nobody knows the pain that someone else is going through. May she see the light at the end of the tunnel...

And now for a question, if there's room for one more:

???

When you work out, what kind of music, if any, do you like to listen to?

???

Thanks and have a beautiful evening!

First of all, I thank all who sent well wishes to my son about a week ago. Update: his "hives" have all almost completely dried up and disappeared. However, yesterday, he got some weird blisters on his hands, full blown-up ones. They popped today, however. So, it looks good...

Question for you Dave, a silly one though it may be: what color eyes do you have? I would swear that they are brown, but in the video for "Hungry," they look almost green. So straighten me out.

Dave! Longtime no see! After seeing you on your INXs-deal (you sure are a busy guy!), I noticed how cool you came off. And I had to explain to a couple people, yes, he really IS that nice.

I still am AMAZED at how cool you were, bringing my dog Fang all that distance to me, so he could visit me in the "hospital." )(Hate to tell you this, but El Fang died a couple years ago -- don't ever buy a dog -- as George Carlin says "It's like purchasing a future family tragedy!")

Anyway, I'd like to drop you a short line. If you get a chane in your busy schedule, drop me a quick one and I'll write you back and I can tell you what I've been doing the last 10-plus years. God knows I could pick-up PEOPLE to find-out about you!

First of all I really want to thank you Dave for giving me the chance to FINALLY see the show. Now I know what you guys are talking about. And yes..it IS an awesome show. Can´t wait to see more.

And my thoughts and prayers goes out to Courtney. I´ve always felt for her in a big way. I think it´s a miracle that she has survived all the shit she´s gone through. But I hope that things are turning for her now, and that she can move on with her life. And she should be able to, with friends like you on her side, Dave.

Take care and thanx again for 6767.tv.

2 Q's:
¿What are your thoughts on the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? They have inducted many great bands throughout the years. ¿But how can you have a HOF without having Black Sabbath in it?

¿Have you ever sat back and realized that you were a member of 2 RNR HOF bands?

I am off to see STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE SITH in a couple of hours. Everyone have a great day.

"Courtney Love is pregnant with Steve Coogans baby..."

Steve is one of my fave comedic actors, but I really don't follow any gossip about him. Though I did read that his wife had left him.....I had no clue that he even knew Courtney Love!

YIIKES....IF this is true....is this about the second or third marriage she's broken up?

Yes, the girl needs help. Unfortunately, over the past...what 8-10 years or so?...she doesn't seem to be getting an real help. She's still probably hanging with the same enablers, ass-kissing hangers-on etc.

Her recent appearance on Pam Anderson's roast was a somewhat sad...it seems to be another in a long line of public displays we've come to expect from her. Displays which we probably thought Courtney was doing for fun or attention, now it seems she is just out of control again.

I hate to say it and this is NOT a pun...Courtney needs some TOUGH LOVE & she had better get it soon. Wishing her luck isn't enough, someone who truly cares about her has to get SERIOUS with this situation.

She isn't a kid anymore and indulging into her middle age isn't helping her physical OR mental health.

I speak from experience, having some relatives with major drug addiction & alcohol problems which affected my family. One cousin ended up in jail for about 10 years, the other used drugs heavily during her two pregnancies....her children now suffer from health problems.

Not to mention the other damage done to their relationships with family & friends. No one trusted these people any longer because they were stealing from us. Not that Courtney is stealing from anyone, but it does put a strain on family relationships because you no longer know what to expect from them.

There's just so much friends/family can do with these situations. I do realise that Courtney didn't have the most normal of upbringings, so she's hardly got a stable loving family behind her.

The main decision to stop, has to be up to the person with the problem to finally see they need serious help. The people who coddle Courtney certainly aren't helping her.

Her REAL friends & whatever family she is close with, have to lay down some type of laws, to make her see she is destroying herself. Obviously the adoration of her fans isn't enough, because Courtney seems to go right back to her bad habits.

I personally don't find her public meltdown in any way funny. I think she has talent (especially as an actress), is humourous with a quick sharp with...she's definitely an intelligent lady. It's quite sad to see her destroying herself.

I have no answers, except to say....the people she surrounds herself with have really got to take her problems much more seriously.

And most importantly...Courtney herself has to take that long, dark long into a mirror.

OOOPs..meant to type: "And most importantly...Courtney herself has to take that long, dark LOOK into a mirror."

We need an EDIT option here! lol

I can't use 'Preview' because it ALWAYS ends up as a double post! It doesn't just 'Preview'...it goes right into a double post!

Morning everyone. Have not posted in a long time.

Courtney, I wish you all the best.

Dave, still love you.

Question, has anyone gone to a taping of the show yet? I want to go but not sure what to do or expect. Does anyone have any suggestions?

well hell ya know i come from a long line of screwed up users too and the only thing that helps is to not talk down to them or their friends...and you don't need to be doing it in front of the kids, cuz trust me, we grow up thinking something is wrong with us and their is we never got enough love.....she just needs some love and compassion no matter what she does, just like all of us..i've been to so many AA & Alnon meetings i could recite it in my sleep, i'm here to tell ya it doesn't work, i don't mean to burst bubbles, it's a great fellowship if you can find a group that dosn't back bite, that really does't exist, it's everywhere, the world is going to hell in a hand basket real quick, unless we open our minds our hearts pocketbooks,wallets,etc....we're never gonna make it,seems like people always have a hidden agenda, they always want to make someone feel bad so they point out faults and then suggest how to fix it, we need to look at ourselves, and change ourselves first, then maybe we can help others by loving them no matter if they want to smoke the glass dick or not......well i think i've said all i can say for now, i think i'm going into an insomia hibernation state/trance and see if i can't send some love on the wire to those of you all who really need it....MASTER NAVARRO ROCK ON....ALWAYS LOVE SHELLEE THE LIVING DEAD GIRL

Nice "package" JD comment yesterday at the taping. Think that'll make it on air? ;)

And what's up with Ty and his 1969 birth year spew? YES, we get it - you born in 1969!

As always, nice to hear your critique at the tapings. I couldn't agree more about the house band. They rock all ways. Any chance of the house band collaborating with any of the rejected contestants?

You know I tried to forgive. But fuck that shit. You are a manipulate asshole, and all you do is use people to get ahead. So Fucking glad you could make serious Cheddar off of what I wrote, I hate you I hope you get cancer and die. You owe me. I hope Carmen leaves you for a real man.

Preview button tested and works fine.

I wish her nothing but the best.... I will most deffinetly keep her in my prayers, because facing your friends after that shit is not easy, I know this from experience. Life changes can be a real bitch, but they are very worth it in the long run. Eventually we all come back. Even me.
I hope you are well. ciao.

Prayer everyone should go also to the family of Joe Ranft, one of THE key creative artist/writers at Pixar. You may not know him by name, but from the Lion King, through to the Incredibles, Joe has been behind more major awesome animated movies than any other person since the classic disney era.

He was killed in an auto accident, and this is a loss that those of us in the artistic community are feeling in a very hard way.

Saw an article about Courtney in the paper today. Sorry to hear about that I had no idea this was going on. Fortunately she only got rehab but that can be hell in itself for you depending on the situation. My prayers go out to her.

Rantz, thanks for sharing. I hadn't heard that, but love the Pixar stuff.

Just bought Tommyland. See that Billy and Chris are on it and some other guy, what's his name? Yeah, Dave Navarro . . .

So, my question, which songs are you playing on? And who is the female lead singer? The jacket for this doesn't give credits with the songs . . . .

Really likin' it!

Always,
me

P.S. Only 25.25 hours until ROCK STAR: INXS! Yeah baby!~

Dave,
Can't wait to get one of those t-shirts. Maybe I'll have to take a picture of me with it on--while playing my new guitar and find my other druggie hat (and no cigarette in my mouth)
Now that would be a site!

Posted by: Diane/FRI13th at August 22, 2005 06:52 PM

Yeah...Tshirts.

i will definitely pray for courtney. i will pray for kurt and kristin and eric as well. i will pray for seattle and i will pray for victims and for all people who choose to do harm to others in full awareness that we are all gods children. the ego is such a shadowy force compared to that of the divine universe. oh lord hear my prayers.

DAVE,
SORRY TO SHOUT BUT I NEED THIS QUESTION ANSWERD:
WILL THE 6767 SHIRTS ALSO COME IN LADIES STYLES?????? NOTHING WORSE THAN BOXY SHIRTS ON GIRLS. I'M SURE YOU ALREADY THOUGHT OF THIS, BUT JUST CHECKING.

Posted by: Tara at August 22, 2005 08:25 PM

Dave should do a gallery of his t-shirt wearers...that would be so fun!

Posted by: Claudinha at August 22, 2005 08:26 PM

Film recommendation for those which have not seen it (it's pretty old): The Last Seduction- total film noir, with a great twist at the end...

Books? Anything by James Ellroy or Patricia Highsmith!

Just in case you are bored! :)

Ciao,
Claudinha

Not like you welcome input or anything, but you need a 'suprise' judge. Someone who is high energy, ask Mick and Keith (I love their new single =) ), or Steven Tyler. They can tell them how to amp up their performance (which your kids need to do).

Just a suggestion. Let them help decide the top 3.

Dave....what happened to our Sunday 10??? ;)

Abby (TPC withdrawals...)

Posted by: Abby at August 22, 2005 09:59 PM

princess abby, I was just thinking the SAME thing!
Dave, you need to specify WHICH Sunday, lol!

ok, so, here's another one, I was just listening to Beautiful Girl by INXS, can I now confess my strange but serious attraction to Master Pengilly!!!, (he touched me!!)

What is a favorite INXS song of yours, I know you have one. I picture you as a Never Tear us Apart type, mixed with New Sensation...

jezzi( just like a razor, where you go...)

Posted by: jezebel at August 22, 2005 10:39 PM

Or ask Justin Hawkins to be a judge....

Jez, did you read Dave's RS:INXS chat transcript, it's on the tpc board, I think in the RS:INXS thread. He gives a fave song there...I remember what it is because I mentioned the song on here a while back. Don't Change Dave!

Posted by: ylais at August 22, 2005 11:15 PM

Ylais, ah, yes, the TPC board, I remember it well, lol!!

that's right...!!!

don't change a thing, for me!!
jezzi(he got that from Billy Joel, you know)

Posted by: jezebel at August 23, 2005 12:43 AM

Just one more question...why aren't we refered to as "baby unicorns" anymore? Not that anyone cares,
but I have reinstated the trem cover on my PRS.

Posted by: Spencer at August 23, 2005 02:22 AM

Chat times. Can it be stated am/pm est/pst?....some of us need minute details, haha. I think the Sunday 10 would be great if AM....if that is 10pm that would be 1am where I live on a work night...haha. I would have to miss under that circumstance. Work is hard enough without feeling like a zombie.

Posted by: Stardreme at August 23, 2005 03:19 AM

Hey Dave, seeing everyone else is adding their 2 cents worth with the chat, could be possible for it to open about a half hour before CFR and close about a half hour after?

Posted by: Simon at August 23, 2005 03:44 AM

Hey Dave, could you please give a birthday shout out (for Thursday) for my girlfriend Harriet?! Thanks!

Posted by: Coercion at August 23, 2005 04:32 AM

Morning all...

Surreal stuff! I'm assuming Jinny is actually the lovely Molly or freedaze, or someone out to get you to create a "special" page just for them!

Anyhow, I've just been reading all the Courtney stuff, and I am amazed that "The News of the World" could stoop so low. Having said that, it shouldn't really surprise me what the UK tabloids will print just to sell more copies.

And one final thing Dave...do you actually always get to the bottom of the comments?

Tuesday 10 possibly...(doesn't have the same ring to it...)

Vic

I'm stoked about the T-Shirts!!!

Happy Tuesday all :D

PS...3 days to Vegas ;)

Posted by: Cori at August 23, 2005 05:59 AM

Umm, Stardreme, I think you’re confused. Sunday 10 is a posted Q&A, not a chat. We dump questions here and he selects some to answer. It’s always enlightening! Look back at the archives, check out some of the past Sunday 10’s. (They aren’t always on Sunday though). Camp Freddy Chat is just during the Sat night CF Radio show. Have a great day, everyone!

Love,
Sue (broke from buying IPods for both my kids’ August birthdays!!)

(HI SUE!!)
Mandie, about those gorgeous eyes of Dave's...that was the first question he ever answered of mine, lo, about a year ago...they are HAZEL!, and they are spectacular! (stealing a Seinfeld reference there)

Cori! Happy 3 days before your birthday!! Lucky girl, are you still going to the Palms, did you WIN?

Angel, I got the info I sent you from google, my new best friend!

Dave...Tuesday Ten! It has a nice ring to it, n'ect ce pas?
