Rockstar: INXS/Performance Archives

Last night's performance taping was incredible! There was an orchestra and a choir on stage with the house band and it was one of the fullest and sweetest sounding musical evenings I have ever witnessed live. On the VH1 show they announced the song selections, Wish You Were Here, Live and Let Die, You Can't Always Get What You Want, Imagine, Bohemian Rhapsody and Suspicious Minds. Just an epic performance show. If any one is interested in checking out some past performances, you can go to the Rockstar Performance Archives. Also, last night's VH1 show is now up at the 6767TV. Thanx Robert!

We have already sold out of our T-shirts at the Shop 13, so please be patient as we restock. We had no idea that these things would be in such demand like this and I thank you for your support and ideas regarding future merch. We are also still hard at work with other links and features here at 6767 so please stay tuned.

Hey, Thanks for putting them in one place...good stuff.

Thanks Dave!

What happened to the other message about items on e-bay?

Are you glad you weren't at the VMA's? Because of the weather, of course!

Always,
me

Hey Dave thanks!
I've been wanting Deanna's Piece of my Heart track as it is my favorite to date.
Any thoughts on the Camp Freddy poster request I mad a few days ago?
Would mean the world!
Love yah!

Dave,
How do you find yourself writing songs, such as the chord changes? By the way it sounds, or by the theory (I leads to the ii, iii, IV, etc)?

>>>>Hey, Thanks for putting them in one place...good stuff.<<<<

Stardreme, I don't think Dave or any of the INXS guys, MSN or otherwise, are responsible for putting the mp3 and vid links on Idol Forums.

That's a fan run-site and as such, it's the fans who submit the linkage to the media.

Hi Dave:
Followed your advice, tried to go to outsider/problems@6767 for the T-shirts. Even though I am registered and I can log in, I am being told "I don't have permission to post or respond".
Anyway, will the T-shits be all black or will you have other colors?
I am a size 2: Will you have X-small shirts?
Have a great day,
Sylviane

No "Sunday 10"?! Aww...c'mon, I was really looking forward to reading Dave's answers to my questions.

You've played a ton of gigs...
1)Which gigs have totally blown you away?
2)Of the clubs/venues/arenas that you've played, are there any that you absolutely can't wait to play again?
3)Any places you wouldn't play again?
4)Any places you desperately want to play?

Also (jumping up and down with excitement) my little original/cover/bar band from Vancouver B.C. scored 3 gigs at "the most famous club in the world", The Cavern Club in Liverpool, England on September 9th, 10th and 11th! Wish us luck!

Gotta say that after reading this blog and watching TDDUP and RS:INXS, my respect for Dave is HUGE. It would be totally cool to just hang with ya and shoot the shit. Can I buy you a coffee?!

Posted by: drumrboy at August 29, 2005 10:43 AM

Dave, I agree about the Sunday 10, still wanna know about the Plaster Caster question!

Sylvaine, I looked at your profile on the TPC board, you are “validating, so I guess as soon as an admin approves your profile you can post. Didn’t you have surgery? Hope all went well.

Love to everyone, especially those in Katrina’s path.

Have a great day, everyone.

Love,
Sue

Can anyone on here recommend a descent set of headphones for my MP3 player and stereo at home? I don't need the top of the line, but I don't want shite either. I can't wear earbuds as they hurt my ears. Wireless would be great too!
Any help would be appreciated!

The song "Wish you were here", is that Michael Finesteins version???? Dear god, I love that song. Reminds me of the time when my parents split and that song made me think about my dad. Luckily, for all of us, my parents are back together.

Posted by: Shannon at August 29, 2005 11:20 AM

^I think it's Harvey Fierstein's version Shannon. "I just want to be sane, is that so wrong?"

You’re just the BEST I tell ya and combine that with Rock Star and it’s like doubly-dipped delicious! I love this show so much that my sister bought us tickets to fly to LA for my birthday- I'm in NC. We’ll be at the Wednesday, Sep 7th taping (my birthday is the 6th). I am beyond excited and can’t wait to see my favorites so try to steer them away from booting Marty and Jordis this week if you can! ;-) Anyway…I’ve never been to LA and we’re planning to party hard – any suggestions?

Good news for the coffee whores, Dave -- a new study claims that the antioxidants in coffee are a good thing:

Dave, (hey all!)
I'm still reading your book. I know I'm slow. But it was funny in an odd sense to read about your thing with clocks. (I have the bird clock that makes a different bird sound every hour) Plus I worked in a clock factory-the place drove me friggin' Coo Coo and I mean that. But I got some good clock items along the way from there. :)
Anyhow--Have a great day everyone.

Woah... That sounded really great! I love Bohemian Rhapsody, it's just a crazy good song.
Good to hear that the show's going ok. I've seen INXS on MTV when I was a kid back in Bosnia around the year 1990... They're one of two bands I remember from that time; the other being Fine Young Cannibals haha.. Don't ask. ;]

Best wishes! :]

Marcy - Interesting story about coffee... good to know! As if we needed another reason to love it. :)

Elizabeth - You don't need to sign up for PayPal. I didn't. You just need some plastic, and you're good to go.

Ciao for now. Looking forward to the show and everything else that's in store!

Thanks loads for having the Rockstar VH1 shows on here - I don't have VH1 anymore and this is the only place I can watch them.

Also, good call on starting the problems @ 6767 post on the Community. I pinned it up at the top of the Outsider forum.

Hope you had a good weekend!

Hey Dave-
How can you kick a puppy? All the JD bashing at the taping was disgusting. Maybe he wasn't as prepared as he usually was, but everybody has an off day. You and INXS went on and on, to the point of cruelty- he was being whipped from all sides. Did you notice none of the rockers in your gossip group decided to step up and chime in on how they were talking about him during the studio session? They are a bunch of chicken-shits- atleast JD is not afraid to speak his mind.(Plus, Jordis messed up her INXS lines to a CLASSIC tune, not a NEW one, at Citywalk!) I am so proud of JD for finally standing up for himself (and MiG also)- it was about damn time. INXS even said they didn't have a problem with his version and AF said others had a problem too but ONLY JD was singled out.

This is not just TV- it is his LIFE and career. I have jumped off the INXS train, I have lost so much respect for everyone involved. JD still went out, did a great take on an Elvis classic, took more shit from the band, then rocked the CD songs later. If anybody questions his talent, determination, ability to work under pressure, professionalism, devotion or sanity, they are not really SEEING who JD is, just what he is portrayed to be (and what an evil editing team this show has).

Even if they don't like JD, they only have another week or two before he would have been in the bottom 3 and they could have found a classy way to tell him he wasn't right for their band, rather than taking his dreams, rolling them up, stepping on them, then kicking it away. They have been cordial to all the others, but to the one that has been the most determined and contributed the most to the ratings, they treat like shit. I find no good way to spin what they did to him.

P.S. ELvis was definitely NOT a safe choice- nor in his comfort zone- he has NEVER performed this type of song on this show. Plus, nobody said anything to MiG about singing a song he did a hundreds of times before in the theatre. So, JD was an Elvis impersonator- this didn't sound like Elvis, this was JD, who happened to sing an Elvis song. This song required more work than anybody elses, MiG didn't even bother changing his song in the slightest. JD deserves better than what he has gotten from this show.

Kelland sold me for oil rights??He gave me up for adoption to make money??!!!!!!!!He sold me. #!!#%^#**&ER. How much money did he make exactly, off of me?Per annum, in total, how much did that son of a bitch make off of me? I deserve to know. Fuck I want revenge.

Was he even human, or just a cheap imitation? Did they scrap the bottom of the barrel of humanity to create this man?

Hey Holly, I was at work and typing fast, haha. I meant to say Thanks for putting a short cut here as I spend more time here and on the board then anywhere. It's good to have stuff from the show or short cuts here. Sneaking a browser open at work on one site is hard enough, haha.

Dave I think they went fast as there are so many of us Newbies here, haha. Though I am holding out for the other sizes. Can't wait for tomorrow nights show.

I liked my bird clock. I was sooo used to it, I knew each bird sound every hour. It just got annoying everytime I was on the phone and the clock would sound and everytime someone would ask me "When did you get a bird?"..."Bird?",what bird?, "I hear a bird".."Huh?".... "oh, that is my bird clock".....Well I took it down for remodeling and haven't put it back up.

Denise--thanks for clearing that up....I have heard bad things about Paypal, and would hate to think that would stop me from ordering when our leader Dave makes sure there are large shirts available (hint, hint--OK, I promise to stop begging now)....

Lyn--"badass"--me???? Never!!! ;-) But the other parts of the club name are, of course, true.... :-)

My Wish List For Dave (hey, Christmas is coming, after all): Bracelets (rubber, natch), sweatshirts (for winter wear--hey, it gets cold in the Frozen Tundra) and key chains are all I need....and this Thermos....and this ashtray (name the movie!!!)

I hate everyone, even Bono (the last 3 cds worth). Funny how everyone comes running, just to fucking use me. Fuck the world. Fuck everything. Fuck Avril Hutchence Lavigne, fuck Ashton Hutchence Kutcher, fuck Will Farrel (Michaels' cousin or something). I am so pissed to be used like that, to fucking not only write lyrics, but story ideas, plotlines, and fucking dialog for that 70's show, scrubs, oceans eleven/oceans tweleve, fight club, Shrek (both of them),Spider man both of them (including all the fucking lyrics to the fucking soundtracks.) For a family that never fucking wanted me the sure know how to take take take. All the lyrics for all their 'friends'-- which is EVERYONE--and I write rap better than most people-- my song won a fucking OSCAR (Marshall Mathers),including all those snivelly snot nosed pop/punks/Hillary Duff/and that other ana biatch -whatever her name is, dialog for Will and Grace... FUCK I AM SICK OF BEING FUCKED OVER. Fuck. Fuck. fuck it. I don't want a hug, I want to actually be paid for what I wrote. I ain't keeping your fucking secrets anymore. All you did was hurt me.

Posted by: Jinny------------ at August 29, 2005 06:20 PM

You know what it's like to have that spoilt little Lavigne diss my writing? The second ones mine too! I asked her what she wanted. DO you want something catchy that the kids will love, or do you want something moving? 'I want a hit, I nneeeeeed a hit'. And then she's all, pissy... WTF -- spoilt brat. But I am sure Michael would be proud, he basically did the same damn thing when I was 15. I am tired of being used and getting fuck all for it. THanks for nothing. And yes I wrote that one too.

Posted by: Jinny------------ at August 29, 2005 06:45 PM

Diane/FRI13th

There's only one reason my bird clock hasn't had a tragic "accident". It's so funny watching my cats, trying to run up the wall to nail a bird.

It doesn't take much, to keep me entertained.

Paypal is not bad - it's the scammer who is impersonating paypal via spam trying to steal credit card numbers...

As for the "Dave's Big Boobied Girls", does 34E on a 6' brunette count?

Posted by: brunettebombshell at August 29, 2005 07:21 PM

I just have to say that I was just e-mailed two songs sung by J.D Fortune, "Imagine" and Elton Johns "your song" and it seems that the range problem J.D is so famous for is nonsense. He sings both with so much soul and intensity that he left me speechless.

It just makes me wonder about the show and how truthful it really is

If you receive one of the bogus emails, forward it to spoof@paypal.com

For the last couple of months, I've been getting tons of fake e-mails like that. From Pay Pal, Ebay, banks and credit card companies. Most of them I've never had an account with. They never use my name (I'm usually Dear Valued Customer) or any part of a account number. But they do want me to log on, or verify my user id and account number. If you go to the fake web page, it's identical to the real one. Even the addresses are similar. So, if you get one of these e-mails, and you're just not sure about it...look on your bill, invoice or statement for the correct web address, phone number, ect. These people are not just clever spammers, they're thieves.

Posted by: LostBoy at August 29, 2005 08:16 PM

Also, it's a good idea to forward the fake e-mails to the real bank, credit card company, etc. They need to know whats going around.

Thank you for your attention :-)

Hi Ya'll!

Jinny...you are making no sense whatsoever! I do get that you are pissed though(?)but what does that have to do with anything? What are you tripping about?

OK-on to other matters...question...if I want to watch 6767TV and make the screen bigger...how in the WORLD do I do that? My sister and I had a rare moment of quiet this evening and nearly went blind watching the teeny weeny screen and tried to find solutions to this via the macromedia support website, to no avail...any ideas, anyone?

Hi Dave, hope you are well this evening!

Posted by: Tara at August 29, 2005 09:43 PM

Claudinha,

6767 T.V. was built for that size. There is nothing you can do to make the video screen larger. One reason for it's size is to give the user a fast streaming experience without them waiting. The larger the window the longer the wait for the stream and the harder it will be on your end to view the videos. Thanks

Great episode. I enjoyed seeing people in the recording studio. Suzie was awesome. I love Andrew Fariss already; but seeing how he worked in the studio made me respect him even more. He was great. That must be such an honour for the contestants, to get that kind of help and attention. Brilliant work with Marty toning it down too. Fascinating episode.

You could do a few dates in NYC, DC, Philly...we could do a lot if we all work together... get other bands to play, too...

What's that saying? "Therefore by the grace of God, go I"...

Dear Dave,

Please allow me to tell you a bit about my day before I can say what I came here to say...

I woke up feeling a little shitty this morning. I thought about drinking some beer before going to work but I didn´t have any money - and so of course I felt even worse.

But then I arrived here at the office, turned on my PC and decided to listen to some music. The shuffle play was on, but I immediately turned it off when Jane´s Addiction started playing. More specifically, "No one´s leaving" started playing(I´m listening to "had a dad" right now as I type this).

Anyways, I feel a whole lot better now and I just wanna say THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH for making this beautiful music that I´ve loved for more than a decade and will continue to treasure till the day I die. You really make a difference in people´s lives by creating something so powerful - but I bet you already knew that... What you don´t know is: I fucking love you man. I wish I could one day do some kind of spiritual service to give back all the great energy you´ve sent me through your music! Right now, all I can do is say "THANK YOU" a million times and pray for you to continue to be a healthy, happy and creative person. May all good things come your way, always.

much love and respect
Nando.

Well, there's Camp Freddy-Camp Teddy, why not Camp Titty t- shirts?

Posted by: Some Guy at August 30, 2005 11:15 AM

Do the 6767 t-shirts only come in small and medium? I would need a XL or XXL to fit me. Are they planning on coming out with larger sizes

I didn't know that Dave was advertising the site on the "Angst-ridden people with no healthy outlet please post here" section of google. Most entertaining.

"I didn't know that Dave was advertising the site on the "Angst-ridden people with no healthy outlet please post here" section of google. Most entertaining."

Is that not everyone? As long as it's not the "Titty-titty FunBags Club" bring it.

Loved your post, Nando. :)

Oh, my big-breasted sisters, I do so feel your pain at not fitting into our beloved leader's new uniform.... :-)

And yes, anyone can join "the club"--anyone who is a girl and big in the chestular area, that is....

Posted by: Elizabeth at August 30, 2005 04:46 PM

Seriously hope "X tina" starves herself to death. Thanks for fucking me over Davo the asso. I am tired of hearing at award shows.... I wrote this all bymyself, it's about my experiences...we did it all ourselves...

what a crock of shit. And Diddy can go bankrupt for all I give a shit.

Thanks for fucking nothing Davo. You suck. You use people, and kiss ass to get ahead. It's all about you in the end, isn't it? I was stupid to ever talk to you in the first place.
Get bent.

Damn! WHO is this chick? (or something that rhymes with it!)

Posted by: Claudinha at August 30, 2005 05:20 PM

I don't know.

It's not nice to make fun of people, but...

Anyone want to play "Guess Who's Off Their Meds"?

Posted by: LostBoy at August 30, 2005 05:38 PM

I can't see the VH1 RSINXS deal on 6767TV. Why can't I see it? :(
Help. Please.

Posted by: Tracy1cg at August 30, 2005 06:27 PM

Hey...Jinny...i don't normally tell people to get stoned....but seriously...you just need to go to sleep for a couple of dayz...we all have been ripped off,at least you didn't win a very large lump sum of money in the mail, and your "best freind" and your mother and grandmother cash your check while you were at work...i should have started an I HATE MICHAEL ROBERT HUDSON FANSITE.....but he's not even worth the ink or the words, you're just giving these people more power by talking about them, and sounds like you got proof....but i don't or they would be rotting in prison,,,,or better yet i would have thrown my life away and ended up in prison........keep your heads up ya all...love to you all in 6767 land...the hibernation thing didn't work...just thought i would give ya all a break from my goings on.....shellee the living dead girl....

Posted by: Shellee at August 30, 2005 06:46 PM

Yeah, Shellee. We all have a book to tell. Page turner here, 2. It's sad, being exploited. On the bright side, it's Tuesday. peace, ck.

Hey everyone,

SUZIE rocked BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. She was amazing, I hope that everyone gets a chance to see her performance.

Later,
Mike from NYC

Hey! I've been hanging out and loving this site, but I was wondering.....

Doesn't "Davo" have an "ignore user" option for this obviously disturbed person???

Posted by: Dani at August 30, 2005 08:19 PM

Oh, and I totally agree with Mike from NYC.
Suzie ROCKED!!!!!!

Posted by: Dani at August 30, 2005 08:20 PM

She was great- but Marty and Jordis did it for me...Suzie did master BR, though. TOUGH song!

Suzie was amazing !!!

Posted by: LostBoy at August 30, 2005 08:36 PM

Dave, you old salty dog, it wasn't the whole show you were excited about, it was Suzie's performance. There is no doubt in my mind that she is going to be the next lead singer of INXS. And that house band totally rocks!!! Unbelievable.

Posted by: Scott at August 30, 2005 08:41 PM

Thanks Mike...

Posted by: Claudinha at August 30, 2005 08:44 PM

Dave and all,
Dave I don't know how emotional that last show was for you, but it really was for me. Ty really lifted spirits, then J.D. dissappointed and even disgusted me at one time. Marty & Jordis had me in tears. Mig was good but I think he over did it, and last Suzie oh my goodness, she was so great I even started laughing when the choir started jumping and getting into it. I don't know how you all felt but by far a really good show.

-Helena

Posted by: Helena at August 30, 2005 09:04 PM

Sorry folks but I have to disagree about the Suzie thing -- I didn't think she did so great but clearly I am in the minority. Oh well, if she ends up fronting INXS, I think I will have to boycott them. She is so not right for that band.

Usually I agree with Dave's comments, but to hear him say that he thought that Suzie was great tonight broke my heart. I'm still holding out for MiG to win this thing, in my humble opinion he is the best for the band.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Suzie soccer mom makes me sick -- she is just too whiny, oh poor me, waaaaaa all of the fucking time. Grow a set and move on!!!

Anyways, as always, Dave you looked great!!!!

Posted by: L at August 30, 2005 09:09 PM

Jordis has a face of an angl and a voice of a goddess!! Love ya Dave!

Posted by: shawna at August 30, 2005 09:12 PM

That was "An ANGEL".

Posted by: shawna at August 30, 2005 09:14 PM

well yes please burn my book....by the way...it's really not worth the ink....carly....

Posted by: shellee at August 30, 2005 09:38 PM

it is tuesday....jordis.... you totally made cry kid...nice job ya all....

Posted by: shellee at August 30, 2005 09:41 PM

JORDIS has the best voice, and the best performance hability... wether if she wins this contest or not, shes going to make it... even better as her self with her own band that with inxs... as they said she may be not fit to inxs but she has it to rock the world as jordis!!!!!

Posted by: Marivic at August 30, 2005 09:45 PM

Do you know the name of the painting that is behind you in the rexall video? Or perhaps know who the artist is? Thanks :)

Posted by: RACHEL at August 30, 2005 09:52 PM

yaaay guys. Good jobs.

I am only bitter for about 5 minutes a day. So I will stay off this site for that time.

I won't change for you.

Posted by: Jinny------------ at August 30, 2005 09:56 PM

Dave is so right that it was an amazing show. The background music was fantastic... and almost all of the performances were as well. The orchestra was a nice touch, and it brought me back to my old high-school band days. :)

Tomorrow should be VERY interesting. By the comments from the INXS guys, it's clear that now it's about fit, personalities, and other intangibles.

Have a rocking evening, all!

Cheers,

Posted by: Denise at August 30, 2005 09:58 PM

I'm listening to Jordis sing "Imagine" now. Just lovely. I love getting goosebumps, and she just delivered!

All of these performers are brilliant, it's just now a matter of who fits INXS better, and as far as I'm concerned, there's 5 that could go onstage tomorrow and fill the bill.

Posted by: Kate at August 30, 2005 10:37 PM

I voted for Marty, (even though I sing that better =P) yaaay marty, no screams! wicked.

you know in grade 10 there was this guy and girl at the piano in my cafeteria, and they looked awfully familiar (not marty but someone else)playing imagine, ya I got up and went outside, that's like letting a teenager play with a gun...........

maybe now I understand when Raine told me we were replaced (bout 9 years ago).
Raine really is better than anything... in his own way. Our Lady Peace has their new cd out. Go get it.

Posted by: Jinny------------ at August 30, 2005 10:44 PM

That is one performance I would have dearly loved to have seen live....

Posted by: Cori at August 30, 2005 11:09 PM

What happened to the Rockstar INXS episode at 6767TV? :'(

Posted by: Jenn at August 31, 2005 01:50 AM

:........) no really, no shirt, no matter!

Posted by: RecklessPrincess at August 31, 2005 02:09 AM

I thought Suzie was GREAT!

I was so hoping she would do good...and she went beyond my expectations. BR is an extremely difficult song to sing. And it had to be even more pressure on her to be the finale.

The whole show last night was amazing! I was even impressed with J. D.'s performance.
Can't wait to download the music from that show.

~Dani~

Posted by: Dani at August 31, 2005 05:34 AM

Yikes!!
I see they have changed the time of the elimination show tapings to 9:00!!! That's mighty early for a rockstar!

I hope your baby birds have been getting to bed early!

Great show last night, hang in there Mother bird, it's just going to get harder and harder, I don't know how you do it
