Elimination
This is gonna be a tough one to call. I'm off to see what happens and I will check in later. The good news is that I got a full two hours of sleep last night! Oh, the magic of sleep deprivation. My emotional stability is gonna be set on high for sure... n't.

I would not want to be in the INXS member's chairs tonight!
It's going to be a very painful show, I can tell already!

I don't want to wait until 9 ET - can you PLEASE give us a heads up???? I have a sick feeling about tonight.
So, Dave, are you going to sit in one night?
Always,
me

Dave - Tell Jordis that she has a face of an Angel , and a voice of a Goddess , for me , please.

Hey Dave and all!
Man, the show was exciting last night- plus it's winding down so I think that makes it even tougher to watch. Ya know? I got so emotional with 2 of the songs last night. It was insane!
I had a hard time getting to the site to vote last night. It must have been really busy. But eventually I got through. I had to make my 1st choice vote. :) Ok, so I don't think Marty is going to win it-I'd like to see him at least be against Mig though. Haha.
Have a great day folks.

I still can't see the Sunday VH1 show on here. It's not a bandwith thing, I have broadband and I watched it last week. There's nothing there to click on. KWIM? I see all the TDDUP stuff and Dav'es videos and ads but no RSINXS- it's just not there....where'd it go? Am I looking in the wrong place?
Still needing help. Please.
Posted by: Tracy1cg at August 31, 2005 06:53 AM
Must have been something in the water...I only slept 2 hours as well...have a perky day, Dave! (yea right) ;)
Posted by: Cori at August 31, 2005 07:03 AM
OMG, it is getting harder and harder to choose who goes....let me help the powers-that-be:
JD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be on the edge of my seat tonight watching....BTW I picked up INXS's Greatest Hits, so that is what I will be rocking to today (they were really *good*!!!!)
Posted by: Elizabeth at August 31, 2005 07:05 AM
Marty all the way!!!! He is a ROCK STAR!
Dave,
You're smokin'!!!

Good show last night..
Do you have a full line up for CF 9/29?
Welcome to the land of sleep deprivation, I live there..
Posted by: Junebug at August 31, 2005 07:46 AM
I am thinking that I need to re-arrange my work schedule for the next couple of weeks to make sure I can see the elimination shows. it is going to get more painful each week. I can imagine its even more difficult for you Dave, after getting to know everyone personally.
Two hours huh? Good luck today. I think I doubled that last night, but I am coming off two nights of maybe three hours INTERRUPTED sleep, so I could still use more
Posted by: Peaches B at August 31, 2005 07:48 AM
Wow, Dave - two hours - sounds like me! And Cori too . . . what were you (or should I say all of us) doing during the night????
Or maybe we should just start an insomniacs club!
Always,
me
Posted by: Angel at August 31, 2005 07:49 AM
Dave,
Couldnt agree more..too damn close...withthe exception i got slightly more sleep....Last night was amazing each performance was so personal and struck a chord good or bad sometimes both.....I have an extra xanax..
Love n Prayers to all those that tasted Katrina's wrath!!!

Navarro sucks
Posted by: M at August 31, 2005 08:16 AM
The show was wonderful last night, In my opinion I think they all rocked it. I heard there was some great editing done to eliminate the intense JD bashing that actually occurred at the live show and sources say INXS wants him gone. That is a shame because in my opinion he is the most musically talented out of the six. There is something about him that draws you in that I feel would take INXS to new heights but... whatever I will be upset if he is voted off tonight but its not really about me now is it..
Just a thought they should have "Jane Says" as a song choice, I would love to hear one of the rockers (MARTY or JD) perform it.
Posted by: Delicato at August 31, 2005 08:19 AM
Wow..last night was smokin. Dave, playing in a cover band like CF, you've got to really appreciate the band playing those tunes. Those are not only mammoth songs, they are so complex to pull off live, without sounding weak. Simply amazing.
Posted by: Schwing at August 31, 2005 08:19 AM
hmmmmmmm the elimination tonight.... not easy. I was surprised to see Marty in the initial bottom 3. MiG's performance was good, just not his usual caliber. But man did Suzie and Jordis nail it!!! I thought Marty was brilliant too, but I think I am slightly biased when it comes to him. I really like JD but like Mig, I think he has had stronger performances.
Ahhh, it's going to be a shitty show regardless. Wednesdays are really going to hurt!!
Have a great day all. Today is my last official day of Summer Vacation. Sniff Sniff...
Later!
Posted by: Tara at August 31, 2005 08:30 AM
Dave, just vote em all out and get up there yourself...show them what rocknFKNroll is all about.
Posted by: leroy at August 31, 2005 08:31 AM
Perhaps there were subliminal messages in last night's music...STAY AWAKE AND VOTE!!!!
OK...see, now I'm just getting goofy :D
Angel...to answer your question...I was online..surfing and playing games...after my marathon voting session, that is.

Sleep? Oh, yah--Thank goodness for the occassional Tylenol PM's and sleeping pills.
But I get so hyped up after the show..lol It's hard to wind down.
Posted by: Diane/FRI13th at August 31, 2005 08:50 AM
Anyone else notice that those that are truly enjoying the show (the house band rules!!) are the same ones who aren't sleeping?
Dave you need to just let the emotion thing flow or you will be comtemplating paying thousands for therapy. Any elimination show from now till the end is going to suck big huge rhinos.
As much as I hate to say this being Canadian, it's time for J.D. to go home. He is an amazing performer but more and more he's showing he's not the right guy to front INXS. I've been a member of their paying public since they hit North America.
Marty needs to go just because he doesn't convey emotion. There is no other song like "Wish You Were Here" to bring on the tears and Marty may have felt it but he didn't bring it to the vocals.
Ty picked the wrong song this week. His rendition though good, wasn't up to what he usually gives us. If he had taken "Suspicious Minds" he would have blown the roof off the place and taken the world with him.
Dave, has anyone ever considered having a place on the MSN website to post their comments (other than the blog) to comment on the performances. It could be open the same time the voting is, in addition to your vote, make a comment. After the bottom 3 have performed, let them know what the public felt and why they ended up there.
Peace...
Sue

"the image of Dave sucking"
OK...now I've officially gone from goofy to deliriously happy ;)
Posted by: Cori at August 31, 2005 09:26 AM
Regarding M's comment.
It has always amazed me how people will go out of their way to trash other people. If you think Dave sucks, then you think Dave sucks, that's all fine and good and you're entitled to your opinion, but to take the time to actually go to your computer, look up Dave's website, go into the comments section of his blog and type "Navarro sucks" is totally incomprehensible.
After you did it, did you think "ha...that'll show him!"? Was there some kind of satisfaction? Surely you have better things to do with your time.
I also noticed that there was no e-mail link on your "name", no name at all actually, just a single letter. Ooh...that sure showed balls huh? So typical.
Our little 6767 "family" here happen to like and respect Dave. If you don't like him then don't come here and post you immature, pathetic drivel...simple!
And oh yeah..."M" sucks!
Posted by: drumrboy at August 31, 2005 09:27 AM
It is going to be extremely tough to take out someone tonight, but I am beginning to believe those people that are left probably have pretty good futures ahead of them either way. They definately are talented.
Posted by: byrd at August 31, 2005 09:29 AM
Why all the JD hate? He's always seemed the frontrunner yet everyone else gets rave reviews and he gets the shaft.
I simply don't understand your comment about it doing nothing for the competition. We all have our opinions, but I for one am a JD fan and hope he makes it all the way.
Marty is just a spazz, Insane Conductor or no. And his screaming is annoying.
Say goodbye to Ty peeps, it's been a good run from the Mohawk Man.
Posted by: Evan Erwin at August 31, 2005 09:31 AM
Good morning,
Sorry to hear about everyone's sleep deprivation. I can sorta relate in that I am a MAJOR night-owl in an early-bird world. But that's what coffee's for.
Hang in there, Dave, with the show and emotional stability. "You can dooooo it!" Then treat yourself to a nice catnap when you have a chance. Even rock stars need to recharge their batteries now and then. :)
With that said, tonight's elimination show IS going to be super-dramatic. I predict that JD will be gone. Between his obvious lack of professionalism and diplomacy, and a cathartic yet somewhat lacklustre performance last night, I just don't see him being there much longer.
Who knows... We'll just have to wait and see.
On another note, prayers for all of the victims of Katrina. We all need to be grateful for what we have, because it can all be gone tomorrow.
Love,

Aww, see these are the times I'm bummed out I can't go to the taping.
Don't worry D-dogg, your kids can handle it, they're troopers! They were fortunate and able enough to be a part of the whole thing and get all the exposure.
And besides, you can always keep in touch after they're off the show.
Posted by: mortisha8 at August 31, 2005 10:12 AM
It all makes sence now why JD's perforances usually reminded me of a bad Elvis impersonation!
Posted by: Twisted Angel at August 31, 2005 10:13 AM
Dave
I wouldn't want to be there with 10 hours of sleep. I hope you did okay, not too emotional for you. It's hard enough watching it on TV.
Posted by: stardreme at August 31, 2005 10:20 AM
Sleep? We don need no steeekin' sleep!
Sleep or no sleep, tonight's results will be emotional. What a blessing that these performers have had a chance to show how talented they are on such a visual, wide scale... they are all fantastic. I can't imagine the pressure they feel. HANG IN THERE!

I support JD as well. However, I have a feeling that he'll be gone tonight.
Posted by: Lesley at August 31, 2005 11:40 AM
I thought there was a funny comment earlier about all the JD hate, followed by a little Ty hate. My personaly opinion of JD is that he doesn't have the talent that any of the remaining rockers have. I would rank them, as they befit INXS, from bottom to top: JD, Marty, Ty, Jordis, Mig, Suzy. The toss up will be between Mig and Suzy, and the only slam dunk to get rid of is JD. This isn't hate speaking. I used to be in a band, a really bad band, but a band member has to get along with the rest of the band and can't be out for personal glory at the expense of the others. That is why JD will go, and the same for Jordis for that matter, who really gave JD the shaft over that song writing business. JD is dishonest, like when he acted like he was giving Suzie her song selection. The band sees that and takes note. He talks a big game, but when it comes time to follow through he doesn't back it up, like not knowing the song going into the recording session. He could never have handled Bohemian Rhapsody, and has a limited range, plus he looks like the same spastic colon everytime he performs. Ok, maybe there is some hate there, I don't know.
Did you see the women checking out Mig? They like JD, but they are down to serious business when Mig walks by. If you watch carefully, they have a blonde on tape checking out his package.
But my money is on Suzy, and always has been. She has the talent, and has shown her ability to not only sing INXS, but to take it to the house.
Posted by: Scott at August 31, 2005 11:47 AM
There are some very strange Dave Navarro shirts on ebay right now. I tried to cut/paste a link to one, but am having issues. Search "Dave Navarro t-shirt" on ebay.
Anyway, Suzie's version of bohemian rhapsody was incredible.

This sure is going to be a tough one!!!!!!!once it's own to Marty, Mig and Jordis, my nerves will simmer down! They ROCK.
P.S.

Hi Dave and Everyone, I thought the show was awesome. I worked last night until 3am so I taped it and watched it at that time. So I am another one with lack of sleep. You looked great last night. I noticed that they all kind of dressed up a little last night. They were all great. I thinl it is going to come down to MIG and Suzie. Hope everyone has a great day. Try to take a nap so you can be prepared for the show.
It is going to be a tough one. Bring lots of tissues. lol

Those of you that want to help
1. Send checks to Red Cross.
2. Give blood.
3. Take your coins to your nearest Coinstar, donate to United Way.
4. Remember, they are going to need help for MONTHS!! Kids aren't able to go to schools, their schools are GONE. At my school, we are looking into adopting a school in an area hit by Katrina, sending them school supplies, letters, cards, etc.
5.Pray.

I am so at work and should be!!! but I have 2 do this---last night Suzie, Marty, Jordis, and Ty are standing out. I think it's J.D.'s night 2 say bye but who knows. He did put on a good show, nonetheless. Oh, and Jinny, maybe it's time 2 put down the ginny. peace----girls rock.
Posted by: Carly at August 31, 2005 02:20 PM
Claudinha,
After having been hit by 2 hurricanes last year, my best suggestion is to donate to the Red Cross -- in addition to $, they're going to be handing out a lot of clothes in the coming months. For people without disposable income to donate cash, cleaning out your slosets and donating clothes is always a good thing.

What up peeps...talking about sleep I couldn't sleep for shit last night either, It was storming so bad thou..I was paranoid about the big ass tree in the neighbors yard fallin in on us, Its amazing what runs thru your mind "(
I agree Marcy, we don't have the cash to give but I've already weeded thru all the clothes and have 3 garbage bags full, I've been calling local places to donate..and noone has anything set up for helping Katrina victims locally..Im totally blow away by this too. Off to search redcross on the WWW
Have a good evening everyone..hope we can sleep tonight ")

Thanks Jezzi, Marcy and Colleen. I am definitly going to try to do what I can. In the meanwhile I called this friend of mine who is a totally cool guy and he is a minister at a Lutheran church, although I am not in their church, I am going to help get stuff together with them.
I guess the point is to do whatever you can! I was overwhelmed when I wrote earlier because yesterday my Mom had surgery so I was busy helping her out and didn't watch the news fully until this morning. I could not help but feel totally "helpless" but I got out of that negative mindset (thank god!) and realized that thank goodness everything is cool here at home, and if I'm feeling the need to help, I should, as Nike says "Just Do It"...
It would be cool if we could do something as a group.
Thanks Gals!

Delicato - Sweetie...I don't believe I insinuated in any way that you posted "Dave Sucks"...I was replying to the comical responses directed at the mysterious "M" who said "Navarro Sucks" thus evoking all sorts of images in those of us with our minds in the gutter! ;)

Dave, maybe at the Key Club gig there can be a donation for Katrina thing... just an idea. People will have cash on them, they might be able to throw a couple bucks in the kitty and headbang all at the same time.
And in the interim, Red Cross or Salvation Army, definitely.

Im gathering goods n such from co-workers to donate whatever we can ...i imagine they wont have much...

Off topic of anything that is important, I saw that you had said that Austria was one of your favorite places. Last summer I back packed through Europe with my best friend and we stayed in Vienna for a few nights. Hi to all from Louisiana. We have survived the storm Katrina but need help. I'm in Baton Rouge and have lucked out with only a tree down in my yard and lack of electricity for two days. Relatively speaking, I am great. But we have people that have nothing now and will be relying on others to help them find some normalcy.
I have friends still missing in New Orleans and their families are with me and I'm watching the horror of a mother who doesn't know where her children are. This is the most important thing I can imagine existing right now - PLEASE - it doesn't matter how much money it is, a dollar is fine, or more if you have it. Go to the red cross website and donate. The money will be used for basics like food and water, but will also be used to increase the technology capabilities to help families find one another.
This is the most horrible thing I've ever witnessed and it breaks my heart that there are people so close to me that have nothing left, and families who have had to make choices to send one child and not another because they didn't have the room on boats when rescuing.
I've been a member of this community off and on for a year and have gotten to 'know' some of you through reading your posts, and all because we believe in the talent of a really great musician. I KNOW that we all also have a love for humanity as well in common. So I'm counting on that common thread to prompt you to help. Please help by donating, praying, whatever you can do. Love to all,
Aimee
Posted by: Aimee at August 31, 2005 07:56 PM
One other thing: You can also donate at Salvation Army and specify you want the items to go to Hurricane Katrina evacuees and refugees. And blood, I noticed someone posted earlier. That is always important. If you guys want to get an idea about the number of people missing, people who don't know where other family members are, etc. go to nola.com and read some of the posts - it is heart rending.

Posted by: Marivic at August 31, 2005 08:30 PM
Aimee...
My prayers are with your people...if you scroll above, we were talking about this precisely, earlier today.
I hope that things start rolling in the next few days with search and rescue, food and water and medical attention for those that need it.
Sending lots of hugs and comfort, although I don't know you, if you are on this board, as you said, we are all here and connected via that very special human, Dave. From what I see and hear, he is kind and compassionate, and I think that those that come here are a reflection of this.
Take Care,
Claudia aka Claudinha

AIMEE!!! I had no idea, of course my prayers are with you, we had a mini fundraiser tonight at our back to school, will be sending it off tomorrow.
I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to not know where my son is, I can't handle it when he doesn't call me everyday, my prayers are with you, my dear friend.

I don't envy them having to make a decision...they all are very talented.
All my best to the victims of Katrina.

Is the red cross the only place to donate? People should have a food bank drive or something, I saw on the news that evacuees need food. man nature sucks.
Louisiana is in my prayers.
I'm so bummed. TY? They picked Ty to go and not JD? sheesh.

I sincerly hope TY gets picked up by a label (if that's what he wishes.) He's spectacular.<--- I have only said that about 2 people.

Is there going to be a post RS:INXS chat again today?

I am bummed Ty is no longer in the running. I never thought he was right for INXS, but damn, he is great! He should go far. He had the charisma going for him (I think he is the only one charismatic enough to replace Michael Hutchence), but I never thought his voice fit. I feel badly for him that he thought his race was keeping him down; maybe he is right, but one white boy (me) is a definite fan and I am looking forward to whatever he does in the future.
So Dave, what did the INXS guys think after he left? Did they think race was an issue? Was it tough for them to let him go? What do you think Ty's future prospects are? Can you hook him up? :)

They finally had a chance to lose JD, and they sent Ty home? Why? Why, why, why?
