CFR/Ozzfest/Netflix
Tomorrow night on CFR, Indie 103.1 FM 6pm-8pm, Ione Skye will join me and fill in for Billy. He will be calling in live from Ozzfest for a few updates as to how the day is going and perhaps for a few "on the fly" interviews with some of the artists. You know, the only thing better than going to Ozzfest, is talking to someone on the phone who is actually there. Oh man, it's going to be great radio I tell ya! Sweet! Ione and I will be taking calls and highlighting some of the artists on the tour. That is my plan, anyway, you know things will change by tomorrow. I might scrap the whole Ozzfest thing and call my "woman on the street" live from Lilith Fair.
Last three Netflixed films:
Solaris - Great "mood" movie... A good kind of slow, a visual and enjoyable white noise.
The Jacket - Visually very cool, but just kind of left me going, "that was kinda trippy" but nothing more. As always Adrien Brody is great and Keira Knightley is just so gorgeous.
Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession - Super interesting documentary about the Z Channel. Brought back a lot of memories about life in L.A. in the 70's and 80's.
As you can see, it's a slow news day over here. Off to the gym.

Hey Dave,
Yeah Ozzfest can be cool, but the last time I went (which was Marilyn Manson's first return to Denver) it wasn't very good. First it was at the old Mile High and they weren't letting anyone to go to ground level (which is where we had tickets) for over an hour after we got there, so they ramps were overcrowded. Then they didn't have any water for sale on the ground level until the second band was onstage. Lastly the rubber mats on the ground level were so dirty. They had gum, cigarette butts, and just gross, so you really didn't want to sit. But I guess that was more of the stadium's fault. When most of the bands came on you could barely hear the singers and the sound was kind of distorted.
This is why I haven't gone to another Ozzfest. I am sure if I was backstage or something I would have a different point of view, but hey can't win them all. Have a relaxing day Dave.

Ione skye is a very beautiful and talented actress. I wish she would have made more movies. I watch "say anything" once a month because I just love the chemistry between her and John Cusack. Have fun with her and let us know if she's as sweet as she seems..

I just watched the UNUSED COUCH SCENES at 6767 TV! OMG how funny is that!? What a great way to start my day. LMAO Dave, you and Carmen are the best. You two are so perfect for each other. ~Peg-TX

Hope you had a great workout, Dave. Happy Friday, everyone.
Just something brief to get off my chest, because I feel guilty: I apologize for laughing at that other pic last night. I hope I didn't come across as flippant and insensitive. I'm not. Just as Dave meant no harm, neither did I in finding it funny. As someone said, humor is a strange and subjective thing. My sense of humor is often sick and twisted. In a world that can be cruel and unfair, sometimes all you can do is poke fun at the absurdity of it all. In no way does that take away from the seriousness of certain things, and how much my heart goes out to those who are hurting.
Love,
Denise

Dave,
Speaking of Ozzfest,I am curious to learn what music you have been listening to lately....could you name for us three CD's you have in your car right now?
And aside from the recently deceased Scorpy, do you and Carmen have any other pets (or as I like to call them, surrogate children?)
Mucho amor from Florida,

Have a great afternoon/evening, Dave..
Rerax! (as my 2yr old tries to say "relax")
I think I'm actually, finally home on a Saturday evening, to enjoy CF Radio in actuality, instead of a few days later!

Hows Mr N and every1 in 67land? hope you all have a great weekend....Get ty to do another living colour song before the shows over(I'd love to hear him sing BROKEN HEARTS off of their vivid album, that would be an awesome test of his vocal range!)
Dave, with you still smoking, do you find Cardio-vascular workouts too strenuous, because I just cannot keep up with the cross-trainers in my local gym, and i'm wondering how much of a factor my smoking is in that, I'm noy physically unfit, my lungs just feel like a pair of leather bags.)
anyways,
be safe be happy

A question for the Sunday 10 (if you have one)...the contestants on RS:INXS seem to be learning a lot, about various things...is there anything at all that have learned from your experience with them (so far)?
Posted by: Cori at August 19, 2005 12:21 PM
duh.....
is there anything at all that YOU have learned from your experience with them (so far)?
Posted by: Cori at August 19, 2005 12:22 PM
Dave,
I just read in a magazine that Carmen is the voice of some character named "Six" in a cartoon called "Tripping the Rift" . I hard this is an especially "raunchy" cartoon which i would normally have no problams with watching but....how do you feel about her playing this part?
Personally I thought she got the shaft(not literally..lol) for not getting the part of Daisy Duke in the new "Dukes of Hazzard" movie. She looks the part more than anyone I can think of and actually looks alot more like the original Daisy Duke and is way sexier(way more!) then Jessica Simpson for that role!
just my thoughts,
RE

Hey Dave--
What do you think about letting the audience pick the songs for the Rockstar:INXS hopefuls for one episode? The official show web site could post a numbered list of possible songs that we could assign to each singer; whatever song the most viewers "give" to a singer is the one they perform. It'd be a nice way to engage us in the process.
Much love,
malatete

Just happened to catch Carmen on an episode of The Simpsons. It had to be a career hilite to share the stage with an actor the caliber of Homer Simpson, in my opinion one of the premier entertainers of our generation.
Posted by: Digger at August 19, 2005 01:00 PM
ummm, you CAN pick a song for an upcoming episode of Rockstar:INXS, go to rockstar@msn.com

Hey Dave
Can you take a picture of Ione and post it here.. Haven't seen her in so long. You so have to ask her about her movie "The Rachel Papers" man she is hot. I just could never figure out who the hell was the ugly guy that was doing her in the movie and why can't I.

hoping to get a new guitar for my 30th, any suggestions anyone, maybe bret, rxs or kyle could throw a few ideas my way(Keep in my that i'm a lefty, which narrows the guitar market down by about 80%) was gonna go over the top and buy a Pual Stanley silvertone custom cos I've never owned a full on cheesy 80's cock rock guitar..and I know it would really piss friends and bandmates off no end!

"Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession - Super interesting documentary about the Z Channel. Brought back a lot of memories about life in L.A. in the 70's and 80's."
I caught that on IFC a few months ago, it was very enjoyable & informative. Wish I'd taped it.
During that month, IFC showed many of the films documented in the movie.
I don't usually rent movies, though I always watch IFC & Sundance. With over 20 movie channels I have on digital, there's already too much to watch.
Have a great weekend Dave~!
