Camp Freddy

(Thanx to Keri for the photo) There is a Camp Freddy show at the Key Club in Hollywood on September 29th. (show flyer) The show was originally going to be a "free" show for the fans, but in light of the recent developments in New Orleans and surrounding areas, we have decided to now charge $15.00 a ticket with ALL proceeds going to the American Red Cross New Orleans Relief Fund. Camp Freddy wishes to thank BC Ethic and Indie 103.1 for their support and for sponsoring this very special show. Be sure to check the Non Profits link to the right for more organizations that need our help. A very special thanks to my friend April, who helped inspire this link and to Robert for helping me with the code.

Now, the drama! Ty Taylor, out of the running. It was a very sad day on the Rockstar stage today as Ty said his final words to INXS before leaving the studio to go home. Now that we are down to the final five, it is gonna be harder and harder each week to bid a farewell to these talented artists and now, friends of mine.

Awesome, Dave!! I hope other rockers follow suit... so proud of Camp Freddy!

Hope you get some sleep tonight...I was like that Sat night, Sun night and Monday night...I finally konked out on Tuesday night! Take some Valerian Root (comes in capsules, and it is non narcotic)- it stinks like dirt, but it works!

Have a starry starry night!

I just finished sending a donation to the Red Cross...every little bit helps.
I was sorry to see Ty go, he is a talented man, however his style is just not quite the right mix with INXS. Its hard to say who will be the chosen one...they are all great. My own feelings tend to go with Suzie. She just really nails it with the INXS tunes and her version of Bohemian Rhapsody was excellent. I think Suzie and Marty both performed equally as well tonight in their encores as they did last night with the orchaestra and choir. I do believe I may go through some RockStar withdrawal when the show is over.

Also...that's so cool that you made friends with the participants in RS. The more I learn about you, I really think you are an outstanding human being. No matter what your past was like, you have substance and that is what counts...

Posted by: Claudinha at August 31, 2005 11:19 PM

it's unbelievable what's going on in N.O. that's cool that you put a link up dave. you are as compassionate as you are talented. sorry, i can't think of anything else to write i am just blown away by what is on the news.

Thats a really wonderful idea making it a charity event. I just wish I could make it down to contribute...instead I'll just make a 15.00 donation through the link. (when I find it...can't see anything new to the right!)
Tonights Rockstar was very sad for me. I've been amazed at Ty's positive attitude and impecable vocals week after week. I can understand though that his sound really isn't "right for the band INXS." He'll go on to do big things though, no doubt. His departure was the first to make me well up though...and Im sure it wont be the last. I can't even imagine how hard it must be for you all.
Now a random question for you...When the HELL is the dvd for TDDUP gonna be released?? Any updates or information about that? My computer is way to crappy to watch the video feeds you've got up. :( Thanks for a heads up,Dave! And get some sleep son!!

Yahoooooo!!! Kinda eerie though how each CF "for the fans" show falls at a time of disaster. I am more than happy to pay a couple bucks to see great musicians live AND help those in need. You all are awesome ;)

So it's getting late... and like Dave and many others last night I am having trouble calling it a night tonight. Anyway, I was able to link onto the "non-profit" link, (maybe it just came up in the last few minutes or so). Dave, your "mission statement" was moving. But I must say that your reflections on the negativity, judgement and coldness on the net don't only exist there, but in the world in general...we all see it as we live our daily lives. As a parent and educator I see this behavior more than I wish to: from the negativity towards children being raised in lower soicoeconomic homes to an intolereance towards those with disabilities. It makes me sick, perhaps that's why I can't sleep even after a long day. It also bothers me tremedously that the capitalistic society that we live in depends on charity to take care of those in need. I too live in L.A., and the wealth around the city alone could certainly put a dent in some of the problems this world is facing. Thank you Dave for posting your mission statment, you are a human being(an amazing one at that), but you are too in the public light and highly respected and I know your words will speak volume. I love you, you are awesome!!

You guys are great donating the funds. It's only one reason why I gots nothing but love for ya, Dave.

Dave

First off I have to say you guys doing a show to help out in the aftermath of whats happened is great.

Now I was just reading online and I saw that you had performed a song with Casey Choas from AMEN and I was wondering what that was like and did you get to talk to him any?

As for the 6767.com family I hope you're all doing well. Anyone that is in the SE US my thoughts are with you all.

Hi Dave
I can't make the show, but it is really nice of you guys to do it for the victims of Katrina. We have lost a jewel of American Music and Cultural History and present untold number of lives. The people in the other American LA have had their lives turned upside down and it is wonderful that you will be charging a fee to help raise money for assisting them. You guys rock as human beings.

Nice about the donation and posting links. Also nice that you're getting to know the rockers. Despite the fact that I've been sucked into my first reality show ever (being an INXS fan from way back), I find I like the remaining rockers. Hate seeing anyone get sent home, and had tears in my eyes the past two weeks. (That's a shock for me!)

One won't make me cry if there is a departure. But just the one.

In the meantime, back to you. You're just awesome! How you pull off being a true rockstar with a heart. Someone with tatoos that I could still take home to mom. I don't know. But you do it. And it's brilliant, and you're fabulous.

And I'd like to know, after watching your wife on Leno, should we get her a replacement for Scorpy?

Keep it up! And thanks!

all i can say is don't clutter your mind with the inconsequential...not to dave per se, but to all of us who seem to be battling against the minutae that life can be at times.

peace.

Woke up this morning thinking about the closed pipeline to NC and how cigarette prices are going up. Stumbled in here with a cup of coffee. Got on Dave’s site and saw the nice comments he made about LA and Ty Taylor. Downloaded a video clip from the site, “Dave’s Flu that made me laugh.

As I go for my second cup of coffee and a yogurt, I ask myself “how do you feel today? I think about the people in New Orleans and how a lot of them don’t have kitchens now or computers to take online classes on and see Dave’s funny video. And I think about Ty Taylor and the rest of the Rockers. Suddenly I’m glad I’m not in LA and I’m not Ty Taylor and the rest of the Rockers who are waiting to see who gets sent home next.

Thanks, Dave, for starting my day out on a positive note and putting things into perspective.

Good morning Dave & everyone,

That's really nice what you're doing to raise some money for the people down south. You rock.
I'm heading out shopping in the wee hours later or tomorrow morning and will be dropping some cash at Walmart-They are accpeting cash for the Red Cross and The Salvation Army. Plus they are running commercials here on my local TV station this morning for people to phone the Red Cross.
The show was exciting last night, but now that it's winding down I can feel major tension.
Have a great day everyone!

What did Ty say at the very end to INXS about
"his people" ? I got the impression he was saying he got the boot because he was black. (?)

I've already done the Red Cross thing, but I did hear on the news last night that between the donation camps set up at Dodger Stadium and Anaheim Stadium, Los Angeles pitched in $500,000 in two days.

Hell YES! My city makes me proud, ya know?

Ty, I will miss. I loved his energy. He'll do well, and I'm sure we'll see him soon!

I sit here and tears just roll down my face.

I am a mother of two autistic children, aged 5 and 3. Having a special needs child is difficult. Sometimes you blame yourself. Sometimes you watch your child targetted because they are different. You get stares out in public and you get angry because there are no answers. But, I have hope. Hope that they will find the cause for autism. Hope that they will find a treatment. Hope that they will find a cure. These feelings are not new to me, nine years ago when my first child died from SIDS, I felt them, too.

It is the work of people like you, Dave, that creates awareness. I thank you, Dave, from the bottom of my heart. It makes me feel a little less alone in this world to know that my children have angels looking out for them - and I consider you one of those angels.

My best,

Amanda

Good morning Dave. Rough show man! Sad to see Ty go. Though I feel he isn't right for "our band INXS, I'm sorry", he should last longer than JD. I guess it keeps the show interesting with at least one jerk in the hopper.

Cudos on the CF show, that's cool man.

Hi everyone, good morning. We are slowly making it down here in Baton Rouge, we have expanded the city two fold to accomodate everyone from N Orleans.

You are all so wonderful to think of everyone here. I wanted to post additional links in case Red Cross isn't your first choice.

Dave, thank you for helping as well.

I'm a bit tired this morning, we stayed up listening to everything last night. We get a lot of specific coverage through WLL, a radio station in N Orleans that has news about specifics of the NO area, what's flooded, what's gone, etc. All very frightening.

Really Good news: one friend staying with me has located her son and his kids; they were rescued Tuesday and were sent to a shelter in north Louisiana, so we're making a trip this morning to get them and bring them here. God is Good.

Love to all of you.

Charities, etc:

consider Habitat if you have the ability to come later to NO, gulfport, etc. to help rebuild: habitat.org

Of course, red cross: redcross.org

Salvation Army: find a place near you to donate: salvationarmyusa.org

The other thing if you have kids: this is the perfect opportunity to teach your kids about sharing, those in need, etc.

I don't mean to bring everyone down, but you guys are awesome, (Dave thanks for bringing us together), and I know we can do something to help. I'm off on words today, but - just Thanks.

Sad to see Ty pull out the old race card. Seems like thats always the go-to move. Face it guy, yes you are talented, but the others are much better and you would be a total mismatch in INXS. Race had nothing to do with it. Talent did.

Posted by: Rich at September 1, 2005 08:22 AM

Aimee, my love, great to hear! Thanks for the links, my class is looking for ideas to help, what I tell them is that it's not going to be a quick fix, and that sending words of encouragement to children in the affected areas is help in itself

love to all!!!

Hi everyone.

Wow. What a wondeful thing Dave is doing. Make that wonderful THINGS. Dave, you are a beautiful person inside and out. Thanks for everything.

I'm still mourning the loss of lives and an UNBELIEVABLY great city, and praying that things get better eventually. I will do what I can to help.

I have to run soon, but I want to leave you guys with some good news if you haven't heard:

Dave is going to be on Last Call w/ Carson Daly tonight. Since most of us will probably be up anyway, LOL, it's perfect timing. :)

Much love,

Posted by: Denise at September 1, 2005 09:55 AM

Dave-

How do you feel about Ty's comments? It seems to me that he could not have been further off base. To play the race card in that situation, when talent is really the issue, minimizes the accomplishments of the other contestants. This isn't about what race you belong to, but rather, can you be the right fit for an established group. Ty is an amazing talent, but my feelings for him as an individual are not the same as they were before the show. If Ty wants to place himself in the role of victim, that's fine, but when you get right down to it, his performances are more suited to a Vegas showroom, than to sharing the stage with INXS.

Posted by: jsco67 at September 1, 2005 09:58 AM

Hey Dave,

I just noticed the "Mission Statement". Very kind of you. As with you and others on this board have been dealing with very close family members who are dealing with disease. One in which I'm dealing with is deadly. Everyday I face the reality that life is short. Love them now, for tomorrow may be to late.
It was ironic-a few weeks ago out of curiosity I did a google search of my name, and found my name under "Philanthropists". Odd, how I sometimes feel I'm barely getting by-yet seem to find time or ways to help others. I'm by no means a Philanthropist. But certainly ever bit counts.
I'm off to sob now.

I found out this morning that a friend of mine who lives in N.O. is safe and sound in Northern Alabama. No news as to the extent of any losses, but as long as her family and pets made it out they will be fine. I hope many many others hear equally good news about their family and friends from the areas affected by Katrina.
It really hurts my heart to see the looting and violence going on down there. Times like this is when America usually shines and comes together. Evil and havoc are rising out of the muck left behind. I pray peace will find a way to keep this activity in check. Its one thing to see people grabbing food and neccesities...ya gotta survive. Its something quite different when people are going into homes and stealing, robbing and threatening at gunpoint, those who cannot defend themselves.
This whole situation just goes to show us how fragile we are. Please pray, or if you do not pray, please send good thoughts to Katrina's victims. They need all the help they can get.

Up front, let me say that I am white, to adjust you to my point of view. I don't think that Ty was far from the mark, maybe not so much for the color of his skin, but for the Mohawk too. He was judged not solely on his talent, because if that were the case, he would still be there and JD would have gone home. Suzy has been in the bottom three for as many times and didn't go home as per the rules of baseball that INXS claims to have applied in Ty's case alone. Ty isn't my favorite looking guy; he needs refinement, but he has incredible talent. I didn't think he was going to win this, but he deserved to continue on. He had every right to say what he did, and I'm proud of him for standing up and saying it when others would have shrunk from the stage. He was in the bottom three for Maggie May a week ago? Give me a BREAK. As far as I'm concerned his first semi-earned trip to the bottom was yesterday. But Sweet Suzy, she's earned the top spot and can sing INXS, and I just can't see anybody except for possibly Mig that can oust her.

Yeah I would be curious to hear your comments on what Ty said since I do sort of agree with him that his race could have possibly led to his receiving less votes as people had trouble "seeing" him front the band...smae with any of the females in the contest as everyone was basically comparing them to MH.

Do you notice how much effect your and INXS comments have on voting. Someone like Ty was labeled early as being a bit too broadway and everyone jumps on that but someone like MiG who is equally as broadway has not gotten the label and no one notices that he does that little skip/dance every performances or how Marty does the conductor/"Im so dark" move 90% of the time. Just curious on if you pick up on that how everyone chimes in with what you guys say.

I remember reading an article saying Mark Burnett has gotten feedback from a handful of bands that were interested in being part of RS. Would you be back on or interested in taking part again. Has the show been as good or better than what you expected, or even worse? Any idea on what bands are interested :).

Posted by: EmpyreLounger at September 1, 2005 12:25 PM

I hope Mark Burnett does another RS. I’ve totally enjoyed this one!
As for Ty, he’s a great guy and he is talented, but I thought his performances the last couple of weeks were sort of mediocre. And when he did “The One Thing, one of my all time favorite INXS songs, he not only screwed up the lyrics, his timing was off in a couple of places.

To be honest, I wondered why he was on this long. I mean, I thought Jessica was better than him. And I think the reason Suzie winds up in the bottom three so many times is that the votes keep shifting to Marty and Mig. SOMEBODY has to be on the bottom but it doesn’t mean she’s a bad performer, just not as popular as the others.

I hope if MB does another show like this, Dave, you’ll be on it! I saw the way Ty suddenly turned around and looked for you at the end of the show. You’ve been a great positive influence for this show.

How about adding some melodic background music when you open 6767, kind of like the "Strays" intro. featured on the JA site?

Also, how about a "DN Radio" that plays continuous DN related music, such as JA, RHCP, Decon., TNO, CF, and of course, the long awaited TPC songs.

Just throwing some ideas at ya. Peace! -Al

I have been so busy, today is the first time I got to actually sit and watch some coverage of this horrible disaster. I myself had a taste of hurricane damage when Floyd hit about 6 years ago, I lost all my things, but no one got hurt and it really is an unexplainable feeling to have no control over the fate of your "things" and/or life. My heart goes out to all the victims of this horrible tragedy.

Which brings me to my next point... TY, I was never really a fan, seemed to "Alfonso Ribero" for my taste, but I appreciated the talent none-the-less, untill his TY-pical race card speach. But it makes you wonder why his "people" issue only came up now that he was asked to leave. Why didn't he make it a point to direct everyone's attention to the fact that he was the only african american there in the first place? It didn't seem to matter until he lost. The funny thing is, when I first saw him, the only thing I could think of was the guy from In Living Color, and the first song he belts out is an In Living Color tune, so I just figured mabey he wanted to be type cast. He just showed why he wasn't right for INXS, a bad attitude. Arrogence will get you nowhere. As far as I'm concerned his departing speach was...... TY-rrible!!!!! sorry, I couldn't resist!!
I'm glad to see him go.
It just saddened me that out of all the farewell speaches, this was the only negative one that I saw. It showed a total lack of professionalism, black, spanish, white or whatever, class is class, and he just let it show that he had none. Besides the face that who the hell is gonna want to give him a chance now that they know that's how he thinks, "give me what I want or I'll tell the world you're a racist". I'm sorry to ramble, but with so many people in this world suffering real life threatening situations, this really irked me. I do not in any way negate the fact that racism is alive and kicking, I just really don't think that RSINXS is guilty of it.
NOW, feel free to attack me and my 2 cents

Stars

Maybe I've been the problem
Maybe I'm the one to blame
But even when I turn it off and blame myself
The outcome feels the same
I've been thinking maybe I've been partly cloudy
Maybe I'm the chance of rain
And maybe I'm overcast
And maybe all my luck's washed down the drain

Chorus:
I've been thinking 'bout everyone
Everyone, you look so lonely
But when I look at the stars
When I look at the stars
When I look at the stars
I see someone else
When I look at the stars, the stars
I feel like myself

Stars looking at a planet watching entropy and pain
And maybe start to wonder how
The chaos in our lives could pass as sane
Ive been thinking about the meaning of resistance
Of a world beyond my own
And suddenly the infinite and penitent
Began to look like home

Chorus:
I've been thinking 'bout everyone
everyone, you look so empty
But when I look at the stars
When I look at the stars
When I look at the stars
I see someone else
When I look at the stars, the stars
I feel like myself

YOW!

Everyone everyone you feel so lonely
Everyone, yeah, everyone you feel so empty

When I look at the stars
When I look at the stars
When I look at the stars
I feel like myself
when I look at the stars, the stars
I see someone...

Remember that?Or was that one a hand off, when I wrote it, and all the rest switchfoot.

Sweetmelis,
I am not defending Ty or his actions lastnight. I do recall, however, the first time Ty was in the bottom 3 he made reference to his race. He had a little break-down at the mansion after the fact stating that he feels enormous pressure being the only african-american contestant. He also made a comment aluding to the idea that in his mind 'his people' are never given a fair shake in rock and roll.
Correct me if I am wrong but that is what I remember. Hope that helps!

Just call me Dave Navarros sweatshop lyricist.

I don't care that you're sober.
I don't care that you're clean.
After what you did to me.
I don't care.
Rapist.

You should be in jail.

Concrete girl

Bleeding thoughts
Cracking boulder
Don't fall over
Fake your laughter
Burn the tear
Sing it louder,
Twist and shout

Way up here
We stand on shoulders
Growing colder
Laugh or cry
I won't mind
Sing it louder,
Twist and shout

Immovable shadows
Concrete girl
They'll rock your world
To nothing
And they're swimming
Around again, again
And they're swimming
Around again, again
And they're swimming
Around the concrete girl

Catch your breath
Like four leaf clover
Hand it over

Scream to no one
Take your time
Sing it louder,
Twist and shout

Nothing to run from
Is worse than something
And all your fears
Of nothing
And they're swimming around
Again, again
And they're swimming around
The concrete girl

Concrete girl
Don't fall down
In this broken world
Around you
Concrete girl
Don't fall down
Don't fall down
My concrete girl

Don't stop thinking
Don't stop feeling

One step away
From where we were
And one step back
To nothing
And we're standing on top
Of our hopes and fears
And we're fighting for words now
Concrete girl
And we're swimming around
Again, again
And we're swimming around now
Concrete girl

I will admit, I haven't watched all the episodes, so I don't doubt that happened. I, for one, do not see color, I see people, so it always saddens and shocks me when things like that are said. This contest is a very specifically unspecified contest. they are looking for someone with something, even they don't know exactly what they want. It's about talent, and chemistry, and "fit". With pretty much any competition, it comes down to opinion, and in this particular case, it could come down to a single performance not being just right, if every one else's was, I think that's why they chose him last night, not because he was black, but because he was to showy. I also never thought they would hire a girl, but every week Suzie makes me change my mind a little more. Again, it's all opinion, and this is just mine.
Please don't interperet (sp) anything I am saying with hosility, i am just dissapointed. that's all

First of all, I love Rock Star INXS; it's the only tv show I watch. But is anyone else getting a little tired of the psycho-drama? All the long, drawn-out pauses before announcing the bottom 3; freaking people out by saying Marty's name, and then indicating he wasn't in the bottom 3. And, trying to get people stirred up on camera about JD's actions--he's a jerk; we all know that, but that's not what I want to see. Just give us the rock n' roll--that's what we really want!!

Beautiful Letdown
It was a beautiful letdown
When I crashed and burned
When I found myself alone
Unknown and hurt
It was a beautiful letdown
The day I knew
That all the riches this world had to offer me
Would never do

In a world full of bitter pain
And bitter doubts
I was trying so hard to fit in
Fit in, until I found out

I don't belong here (I don't belong)
I don't belong here (I don't belong)
I will carry a cross and a song
Where I don't belong
I don't belong

It was a beautiful letdown
When You found me here
Yeah, for once in a rare blue moon
I see everything clear
I'll be a beautiful letdown
That's what I'll forever be
And though it may cost my soul
I'll sing for free

We're still chasing our tails
In the rising sun
In our dark water planet still spinning
In a direction no one wins
No one's won.

See, I don't belong here (I don't belong)
Well, I don't belong here, I don't belong
I will carry a cross
With a song where I don't belong
I don't belong
I don't belong here (I don't belong)
No, I don't belong here, I don't belong
I'm gonna set sight
And set sail
For the kingdom come, kingdom come
Your kingdom come
Won't you let me down, yeah
Let my foolish pride forever let me down

Ah, Easy living, you're not much like the name
Easy dying, you look just about the same
Would you please take me off your list
Easy living please c'mon and let me down

We are a beautiful letdown
Painfully uncool
The church of the dropouts
The losers, the sinners, the failures, and the fools
What a beautiful letdown
Are we salt in the wound
Hey, let us sing one true tune

I don't belong here (I don't belong)
It feels like I don't belong here, yeah
It goes like I don't belong here
I don't belong (I don't belong)
Won't you let me down (I don't belong)
C'mon and let me down (I don't belong)
You always let me down (I don't belong)
So glad that I'm let down (I don't belong)
C'mon and let me down (I don't belong)
'Cause I don't belong here
Won't you let me down!

Amy's gone
And time rolls on
How far? How fast? How long?

The last time we saw Amy
She was headed for the shore
Fighting off the volatile gray skies

She said now begins forever
And that no one knows their time
We bid farewell not knowing
That might be our last goodbye

Amy was a fighter
She cut like Casius Clay
She burned like a fire
Despite these rains

Where time was a question
She only knew one song
She's singing, "How far, how fast,
how long?"

Salvation is a fire
In the midnight of the soul
It lights up like a can of gasoline

Yeah, she's a freedom fighter
She's a stand up kind of girl
She's out to start a fire
In a bar code plastic world

When everything stops moving
And I stop to catch my breath
And ride my train of thought
All the way round

My thoughts return to Amy
And the fire she's begun
She came when we were freezing
And left us burning up

Sweet-
Hey there, I did not intrerpret your post as angry. I agree with you. When Ty made that comment the first time, he lost me. But, as the weeks wore on, I began to think it was an emotional moment of his and overlooked the comment. Then, last night he made yet another reference and lost me again.
The one thing we all need to keep in the back of our minds is that this is an edited show. They do a great job of showing you what they want to and leaving out what they want to.
So Sweet, no worries we'll just keep on enjoying the show!

Hey Jinny
What's up girl? You doing alright?

Posted by: Tara at September 1, 2005 07:41 PM

Jinny- what's up...what's the deal? You seem really pissed. Take the anger and turn it into something positive...

I am not a Pollyanna type, but, hell, check out the crappy deal others have been given, then look at your life...maybe that will help you?

Posted by: Claudinha at September 1, 2005 07:48 PM

I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?

It goes like this...the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall
The major lift
The baffled King composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you.

She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne
She cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Maybe I have been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you.

I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

There was a time you let me know
What's real and going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?

And remember when I moved in you
The holy dark was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Maybe there's a God above
And all I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you.

And it's not a cry you can hear at night
it's not somebody who's seen the light
it's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

ya something positive like a lawsuit.

Come on Jinny,
Enough of the lyrics and one line rant. Talk to me/us. Obviously you're pissed at something but I know it's not me/us. What gives?

Posted by: Tara at September 1, 2005 07:52 PM

A so called friend used me for over 2 years to write stories and lyrics for most of the industry, totally fucking me over.

Why shouldn't I be pissed?
Some of the best lyrics I could possibly write, some of the best story lines ever. Tell me if you did all this work and got absoultely nothing wouldn't you be 'pissed' too?

Not to mention the other things that went down that were totally unfair and sickening.
I'm straight edge and I guess that pissed some 'users' off and they decided to fuck up my entire life.

Posted by: Jinny------------ at September 1, 2005 08:10 PM

At least I am glad they got Rufus to do Hallelujah. I asked for him. He's the best at what he does.

Posted by: Jinny------------ at September 1, 2005 08:12 PM

Jinny...now I know you are mad about people ripping off your lyrics, but are you trying to say that LEONARD COHEN did too???

that, I can NOT believe

jezzi(be thankful you are above water)

Posted by: jezebel at September 1, 2005 08:12 PM

Ok, well I can only try to relate to what you are feeling. Why are you trying to vent/reach out to the 6767 community (only trying to better understand). Seriously, if you need to talk, we can be here for you but it works better if you talk to us rather than rant at us.
I know it may seem hard to do right now, but if you try to just look past this incident you speak of for a moment, how is your life fucked up?

Posted by: Tara at September 1, 2005 08:16 PM

you have no idea. be thankfull. IT'S A BUSINESS. I don't think I hate Dave, but fuck man, what the fuck did you do, give them away for H? idiot. I want a fucking apology. Dave and all his shitty assed friends fucked my head over, and had me working--wrenching my heart out in every possible way--you have no idea what it takes to write like that 24/7!!!-- I couldn't even f'n function anymore. You have a lyrically documented minute by minute f'n nervous breakdown! All that and fucking nothing. NOTHING.

Posted by: Jinny------------ at September 1, 2005 08:21 PM

I swear I should write a list, you'd fucking cry too.

Posted by: Jinny------------ at September 1, 2005 08:22 PM

If it will make you feel better, write it.

Posted by: Tara at September 1, 2005 08:25 PM

I realize you turned you life around, I realize your all as someone said 'pollyanna' now, but you and your friend left me fucking in a pile of rubble and laughed about it. My life is not a fucking game you can play, you ass!You knew I didn't remember Kelland or Michael or anything, and you played me for fucking lyrics?!! For what? I had nothing to do with Michaels death, he went because he didn't want to be here anymore. He couldn't smell, or taste hardly, and there was other stuff, and then there was Paulas problems... I gave him the best fucking pep talk I could, I tried to help him, and all he did was be all pissy about writing -- immediately-- for his people. And I did. That's me, a fucking sweatshop poet, on demand. If you (Dave/Davo/'Larry') befriended me only to use me to populate peoples publishing catalogs in order to get back at me, well that's just fucked. I wish I knew. And it's a free board, I can vent. Dave is a good guitar player, seemingly nice guy, So WTF?? 'cause you could? I just want answers. I just want answers. And you know what I hate being mean. I fucking take it and take it and I am fucking tired of fucking taking it. I am allowed to be angry.Fucking mind fuck man, dealing with this is a fucking mind fuck.

Posted by: Jinny------------ at September 1, 2005 08:40 PM

Ok, well good luck with your search for truth. There doesn't seem to be much I can do to help, thought I would just try.
All the best in your search Jinny!

Posted by: Tara at September 1, 2005 08:45 PM

I still don't understand Jinny, but you do have the right to vent. I guess because you keep writing, it is hard to ignore your posts.

Then again, I really don't get what you are talking about. Seems like an "insider" thing that we (the people who post) are not privy to knowing about. But, my question is, why not make your grievences private and get in touch with Dave?

Hope life gets better for you.

Posted by: Claudinha at September 1, 2005 09:06 PM

The biggest problem I had with Ty, no matter how serious or sad the song, HE COULD NOT STOP SMILING. And not being able, to control his wayward tongue. It was very distracting.

Now, I think I'll pop in Jeff Buckleys "Grace". One of my top 10 cds of all time. Hallelujah !!!

And play round 2 of, "Guess Who's Off Their Meds".

Posted by: LostBoy at September 1, 2005 09:35 PM

LOL LostBoy, I think he will make it in some other type of band...he is talented. Not my cup of tea, but he'll be fine.

Posted by: Claudinha at September 1, 2005 09:58 PM

Yeah, he'll do great. But he wasn't right for INXS. It's sad he thinks he was cut, because he's black.

Posted by: LostBoy at September 1, 2005 10:19 PM

And oh, I forgot...

MSNBC & CNN are reporting, Fats Domino has been found and rescued from his New Orleans home.

Posted by: LostBoy at September 1, 2005 10:27 PM

Great news about Fats Domino!!! There is hope, after all!!!

Yes, the whole race thing with Ty, which came up twice was not really something that should have been brought up. I thought it was distasteful- after all, he wasn't selected because of his race, I would say it was because of his talent!

Posted by: Claudinha at September 1, 2005 11:24 PM

I think that maybe Ty was over emotional, being that this was the "end" of his RSINXS journey...which I perceived as being an extremely stressful one!! Im sure the discrimination thoughts were one of the first things that came to mind cause he's most likely dealt with a lot of it in his life. I'm sure he's a really great guy and was just doing his best to speak his mind and not let something that is a huge issue for him, go ignored. Its kind of brave of him to speak his mind in front of so many people. I hope he gets everything in life he deserves and totally wish him well. Im sure he'll have no problem getting some kind of deal. :) Just my unsolicited 2 cents! haha

Well now I have the whole "Grace" CD stuck in my head. The WHOLE thing, note by note, word by word. And my friend is coming down from DC, in a few hours. With her country music collection. For 5 days. Five whole days of country music. She doesn't like my weirdo music, nope. Bet she wants me, to go shopping with her too. Maybe it's a good thing I have "Grace", stuck in my head. Maybe I'll be mean, and make her sleep on the sofa.

Posted by: LostBoy at September 2, 2005 01:53 AM

I think Ty was great, but not for INXS - not thrilled with the "american idol" drama - i.e. making it seem Marty was in the bottom three, then telling him to sit down. Everyone seems surprised at the bottoma 3, but fact is since all are great - whoever makes the bottom three will be a great singer - its gonna be down to who has the most people calling in.

On a musical note - great blues artist to check out - Duwayne Burnside - I saw him open for George Thorougood at the HOB - definately worth seeing. reminded me of Stevie Ray Vaughn.

happy labor day weekend

Posted by: deidre at September 2, 2005 07:02 AM

Maybe someone needs to try and get some legal advice. If the lyric stealing is an issue.
Seriously though-I can't tell if you/Jinny are serious or not.
Anyhow--Hope everyone has a decent holiday weekend.

Posted by: Diane/FRI13th at September 2, 2005 07:25 AM

Thank God about Fats! I read about Fats being missing last night, so I'm thrilled to hear he's been found.

Ty was originally my first choice that first night of RSINXS. I adored his energy. He definitely kept the energy throughout, but soon, I saw that Mig and a few others had more of what I felt worked with the band. Ty is fabulous, and will do very well, but just not with INXS. I don't see 'soul' as being the direction INXS wants to go in. If it were an unknown band, with no history, this competition would be anyone's game. But whoever it chosen, they have to both fit in the band like a glove and bring something to the table. I personally think Mig has the job. These people are all uber talented but I think Mig just 'fits' best.

Hope you are getting SOME sleep Dave. On a personal note, I may be up for some surgery, and it better not interfere with the dang concert at the Key Club. (I have my priorities after all. Uh.. Doc... I have to go now. No.. I HAVE to go see my boys and I have to head bang...NO! Get that needle away from..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) Keep me in your prayers. Later all.

It’s sad but true, color lines still exist strongly in music. But it’s not just rock, and it’s not just blacks. How many white rap singers are there? How many great white R&B singers have there been? White reggae singers? And Willie Nelson don’t count!

Jimi Hendrix and Lenny Kravitz are distinctive artists and have worked hard to cross that line. I think it’s presumptuous for Ty to think he can just waltz in and win that spot after a few weeks of competition. INXS is a rock band, but he just was not a rock singer. That’s just the way I see it, based on his final comment.

Ha! I’ll bet you thought I was going to say “just not right for the band, INXS.

My two cents....I'm extremely sad to see Ty go - I also had my heart set on Ty from the very first show and haven't stopped loving his musical talent and warm spirit since. In terms of the so-called "race card," I don't agree that it was unwarranted. In fact, I think it is a main reason that our government has been slow to provide relief to those in need following Katrina. Ty's performance last week was amazing and I'm unhappy that the votes didn't reflect that. Personally, I think Ty would have made a wonderful addition to INXS and I'm sorry that he was let go of.

Thanks,
Jessie

Hey, I thought the comments were closed, I HAVE tried to lift Jinny up, and have been rudely rebuffed every time, I have offered to talk, to listen, a hug, and been told they don't wan't a fucking hug...Jinny is saying he/she has written songs, and then posts Leonard Cohen lyrics, just trying to clarify exactly WHAT it is that happened, instead of vague references to what Dave did or did not do

Hey Jezzi,
I hear yah. I made the attempt last night, regardless of whether or not I believe Jinny. She wasn't quite as biting last night, perhaps thats why I threw the line out. It's all so odd, just trying to give her a voice....
