Episode 1

Rockstar_red_01Well, I just saw the first episode of Rockstar: INXS, and I must say, this is gonna be a really great show! It certainly isn't an American "Rock" Idol type of thing. You will fall in love with all of these kids, at least, I have. The first episode is kind of an introduction to all of the players, as well as a performance from each of them and a single elimination. What I like about this show so much is not only the fact that there are great rock songs, such as songs from The Who, Nirvana, Courtney Love and The Rolling Stones, but the fact that it focuses on the people behind the performers. We get a chance to see a very intimate side of the contestants in a way I have never seen on any other "talent" show. That's all I can really say about it now without getting sued! Check it out on July 11 on CBS.

BTW, has anyone here heard the Beetlejuice song on Howard Stern lately? It is legitimately the most incredible thing I have ever heard in my entire life! I'll try to get permission to post it here.

Nice! Was already curious, now I'll have to make it a point to check it out. I really liked Shabooh Shabaah growing up. Really good music to surf to.

It will be on my season pass, for sure. I think that showing a more intimate side of the contestants is so for reality TV. I gotta have that passion, be it love or hate, for the people on the show, or what is the point of watching? Can't wait to see it!

Hi Dave,

GREAT to hear that the INXS show won't be 'AI'-ish.

"BTW, has anyone here heard the Beetlejuice song on Howard Stern lately?"

Beetlejuice has recorded a song?? loool I don't listen to the Stern morning show as much as I used to, I do try to catch the E! show.

Once Stern leaves to do satellitte...it's bye-bye for me.....I've got enuff bills.

I always forget to ask one of my good friends about the goings-on at the Stern show.....her nephew, Mike Gange, is one of the producers.

take care,
itanja

Wow, I'm so outta the loop. I hadn't heard of it. Thanks, Dave. I'll have to watch this one.

Dave could you possibly pick your two favourite NIN albums? Would Fragile be one?

Yes! The Beetlejuice song is awesome! I had it stuck in my head for days after I heard it. Maybe you can do yet another band, but with Beetle as your singer. He's as bad as can and you know he's the best!

Goodmorning!

I can't wait to see the show. Got my VCR set ready to tape! How are the eliminations going to be held for this? Public voting or is it going to be more private?

Always,
me

Dave,

¿Do you plan on seeing the new George Romero zombie movie? So far it has gotten pretty good reviews.

Later,
Mike from NYC
PS- If anyone is going to be in NYC this Saturday, I am going to be at Turtle Bay Grill & Lounge, 987 Second Avenue (between 52nd & 53rd Streets). E-mail me if you make it.

Dave,

Glad to see that you have someone from Queens, Neal Carlson, is competing on Rockstar. Hopefully he does well.

QUEENS IS IN THE HOUSE!!!! (I have always wanted to say that.)

Later,
Mike from NYC
PS - For those of you who don't know, Queens is one of the 5 boroughs that make up NYC.

Dave- Howard Stern is a wanted man here in Idaho. There's probably a warrant for his arrest under the guise of "immoral and corruptive behavior". Please post it if you can. I used to listen to Howard when I lived in Boston and miss the show. Thanks!

Good morning Dave & friends,

I have not heard the Beetlejuice song yet (don't always listen to Stern in the AM) but I'd love to. What is it, a rock song? A rap song? I can only imagine...

'Beet' is one of my favorite parts of the show. You can keep the naked bimbos and marathon farters... I'll take the 'Wack Pack' any day. LOL

And yes, I am super-pumped for July 11.

Cheers,
-Denise

Re: Beetlejuice song on Howard.

Yes I heard it yesterday. And heard your lovely wife giving it a go. She did great.

By the way, she has a lovely singing voice!!
