Changing Lanes
Let's shift gears. Anyone see I Want To Be A Hilton? I was so ready to hate it and go off about how the premise was a lot like Silver Back Gorillas teaching figure skating. You know, a Hilton with an etiquette show? I mean, was this real? Unfortunately, ten minutes into it I couldn't believe what was happening. I was enjoying the program. In addition, I can now add Kathy Hilton to my extensive list of older women that I might consider being a sexual slave for. The show was kind of hard to turn away from and I have now added it to the official TiVo season pass schedule. I guess a different title would have been less of an initial turn off. They should have called it, I Want To Be In A Hilton. That would have been a better show for sure.
Tomorrow is our day in court with producer Howard Benson.

So who is that chick? I'm hungry.

Hey D-dogg!
Yeah, I saw the Hilton Show. I had the same reaction, I didn't think I'd like it but it was pretty funny!
What would have you gotten Kathy if you were the chosen one for the gift and given $100?
Posted by: mortisha8 at June 22, 2005 11:39 AM
I am with you Dave! I did not intend to watch I Want To Be A Hilton, but L&O was a repeat of a repeat at that time, so I channel surfed. I missed the first 5 minutes, but what I saw, I liked! However, I think the 4 pounds of chocolate was so inappropriate. What did you think?
I will be watching again, next week.
Always,
me

It was entertaining. All I have to say about Mrs. Hilton is Dang, I wish I looked like her now.

Who's Kathy Hilton? :S (completely lost Lisa xxxx)
Posted by: ylais at June 22, 2005 11:47 AM
I like that poster that's up there. Sadly, that show "I Want to Be a Hilton" didn't impress me.
Posted by: William at June 22, 2005 11:50 AM
Hi all,
I missed the show, but I agree that Kathy Hilton is stunning. We should all hope to look that good when we reach her age. And we should all hope that when we get to be her age, the younger men out there share the same great (i.e. slave-like) attitude that Dave has... :)
Have a great day, everyone!

Dave -Good luck with Howard Benson. The guy, as I have read has some mad mixing skills.

Kathy Hilton is a class act.....wonder why Paris can't be more like her mom!
She's sweet, friendly and funny. Not to mention attractive. My best friend, who's a fundraiser, has met her several times, Kathy was friendly to all.
I've seen her on a few talk shows lately, so happy to see she doesn't have a tag line such as..."That's Hot".
I'd better quit while I'm ahead..... lol
Posted by: itanja at June 22, 2005 11:54 AM
I missed that show, & I was upset due to my curiosity. You're right about the name of the show, Dave. That's a nice advertisement with you & Carmen. I'll be sure to show it to my mom, as she has one of those bracelets. Take care & good luck tomorrow!

Hope you feel like answering this one.

So why do you wear the bracelets? i noitced that they are showing the show again on the Brovo channel. i missed it now i wish i wouldn't have. thankx. you all fxxking rock!
Posted by: Shellee at June 22, 2005 01:14 PM
That show looks good. I don't watch nearly enough TV. But that may be because I have a teeny 13" TV. But if'n I did have me a big ol' TV, and cable, and Tivo, I'd be watching every dadgum reality show out there. People fascinate me. TV writers can't make up characters any better than what's really out there, I say.
I really can't stand Fear Factor, though--I don't like those kind of reality shows. It's disturbing what people will do for munny. And it's not even that much munny, after taxes.

Completely unrelated to anything you have posted here Dave, but I just want to thank you.
I have had the most frustrating 2 weeks at work with the climax (my tolerance level) a stones throw away. Thank you for allowing me to read up on your biz and the biz of others. It offers a nice distraction from the stress here.
I am practicing my deep breathing, even shed a tear or two. One more week and it is all over for a while.
So thanks Dave and thanks to everyone on here for your light hearted banter and even the matters of 'great importance'.
Life does exist outside these walls.

Dave
just curious as to what you think of the show 'hit me baby one more time' on nbc? personally i love the first half of the show when the artists from the 80s sing thier hit song that made them famous. i just hate the second half when they try to do a recent cover song on there. and the host is annoying.
Posted by: Jen at June 22, 2005 06:00 PM
Hey Dave, I was on so-to-speek-if-you-will and was looking at the various guitars that you have been pictured with. On some it says "Currently in Dave's Possession: Unknown" I was wondering of the guitars listed what you actually still have?
Posted by: Nick at June 22, 2005 07:09 PM
nick...the owner of that site...www.so-to-speak-if-you-will.com...is a very very accurate source. she is actually thanked in daves liner notes of his cd trust no one as Veronica Calderon. so if she says dave has a guitar...he probably does :-)
and that show 30 Days is what i hoped reality tv would evolve into...an educated, eye opening view of the world that is real, not trashy, and strives to educate the youth and elderly of the world in an honest, open way. i loved his movie...and so far i love the show!

Hey Dave, a very nice picture of you and Carmen.
Wondering if you've ever had the chance to watch "Blow Out" on BRAVO with Jonathan Antin. I'm assuming because his sister started The Pussycats that you must know him. I'm wondering what you think of the show if you have ever seen it.

Posted by: Wendybird at June 22, 2005 09:54 PM
Chafino one more thing is there any way to send it to multiple users in one shot or to not have it automatically replay every time you send it so someone else. It’s nice seeing Dave again and again but I might go into Dave overdrive which isn’t necessarily a bad thing…
Ok, now I’m just bugging so I'll stop. But seriously pure genius. ha for some reason I just got a flash back of pinky and the brain,
“Hey brain, what do you want to do tonight? Same thing we do every night, try to take over the world!
that's enough of me for today

LOL@'I wanna be in a Hilton'. Classic DN wit. crack me up bro. Nice to see couple's sticking up for each other. Especially when a line is drawn, and someone take's a stand to protect their husband/wife, etc. Kind of sad, the situation Scott Weiland is going through right now. A bunch of hurtful assumption's, that turn into "News FACT" just because someone made an inference on their own site or blog, and next thing you know, Weiland & Slash don't get along, VR is breaking up, and Scott's headed back to rehab. No wonder he's attempted to take a reprieve from interviews. Anyway, my point being, it was nice to see Mary come out and stick up for Scott, and basically fuck everyone else off. That's what's great about your site, D. It give's you a sounding board for the undeniable truth. A place for you to respond. A place for your fans, friends & family to engage you in miniscule conversation about current pop culture, or hardcore essay's on the peril's of war. Maybe Weiland would be better served to start a blog & open up the way you have, you know, it's not nearly as fun to punch someone in the face, if they punch themselve's first... what a stupid yet somewhat fitting analogy. so, TDDUP,

I wouldn't mind donating for one of those bracelt's. What's the tag, anyone know??? Whoever made the comment about Pete D's show in Bmore, you're f'n lucky! Didn't realize there were any other balti-moron's on here, cool deal. Who was at the gig, that's worth note? Also, not really trying to be a hater, but whomever asked Dave if he & Perk, "hate Perry or just can't be in a band", don't expect a response to that question, because honestly it's lame, irrelevant, and not worth re-hashing every ten minute's because someone's late to the show... if Dave were to amazingly reply to it, i'm sure he'd be vaguely diplomatic... so in other words, it's their personal live's and their business. If they want to put it out there, it'll be out there. Speaking of Perry... Nuno Bettencourt!? give me a break. Retaliation for Isaac's being replaced by Gary Cherone in TPC, perhap's???? (JUST A FUCKING JOKE, like EXTREME & people who want a constant carnival)...
