All New CFR

Musiccare_website_r052So last night we had our first home tournament. Nine Players. Cantrell, Johnny, Steve, Shannon, Heather, Rene (Johnny's friend), Greg (Carmen's assistant), Sean (Suicide Girls creator) and me (me). We all bought in for $100.00 and the winner took $600.00 and second place took $300.00. Sean came in second... I won! But more importantly, we had a great time. Carmen and Riss watched some crazy old Madonna footage from when she did the sex book. Horderves. The works. A great evening. My friend Greg was right when he said, "Well, it's good that Dave won, that way, we know we will have at least one more game here."

Tonight is the All New CFR. I like saying that. It's like "An All New CSI". I always wondered why it's an all new one instead of just a new one. Like, would there ever be an old one with some new stuff in it? A half new one? Billy says my surprise fell through but he will reveal what it was on air. Hey man, at least he tried. He's a good chap. After the show we are going to celebrate our friend and Camp Freddy manager, Brent Bolthouse's engagement. He is responsible for throwing our (Carmen and I) amazing bachelor/bachelorette party in Vegas. Love is in the air tonight.

1. Dave, have you always been a poker fanatic, or is this something you picked up recently?

I started playing about 12 years ago, but I never really became a full blown fanatic. I go through periods where I'm really into it, then I don't play for months at a time.

2. Do you still hang out with Neil Strauss? During the Don't Try This At Home year you seem to have developed a rather strong and friendly relationship, just curious to know if you two still keep in touch.

Yes, I do. He is still one of my closest friends.

Hi Dave,

I'm happy you won the poker match. You seem to do better when the cameras aren't around. Maybe you have performance anxiety. :)

Do you still have your assistant Richard? Where was he during the poker game?

Hope you have a great weekend,
Bianca

Way to win, Dave! Glad to hear you all had such a great time. Take care everyone :)

Dave, Do you like horror flicks ?

Posted by: Gary at May 7, 2005 02:41 PM

Dave, For whom do you credit your musical genius to? Is it from your friends, influences, etc?

Posted by: Brian C. at May 7, 2005 02:58 PM

Now I KNOW who Brent Bolthouse is!

There was an article on him in the Sunday New York Times STYLE section a few months ago. They talked about all the stars at his party...Dave included...but never quite told the readers who he was OR what he did!

Guys......I think the 'celebrity bacteria for sale' website IS actually a spoof. It seems to be a play on the website "Celebrity Skin".

If it isn't....then WHERE the hell are they getting ALL that celebrity DNA from?? Too funny. loooool

Nice to hear that CFR is a new broadcast tonight. Hope my Mac doesn't crap out as usual.

Wow Dave! Way to go! You must have a serious poker face!

I just saw the Jane's Addiction Video called "True Nature" a couple hours ago and I was wonderign what kind of guitar you smashed at the end?

Hey Dave,

Grats on winning yet again. Hey I was wondering if you have a snail mail address I could write to you at?

Posted by: Catiyana at May 7, 2005 03:43 PM

Hi Dave,
Congrats on poker...What's your fave movie, and also can you pleaze tell me what you think about Jane's Tribute Band "Nothing Shocking"? and if you'd ever seen them? Yoli

Posted by: Yoli at May 7, 2005 03:49 PM

I saw the beautiful Miss Carmen on Ellen...and she mentioned something about buying the wrong house. What's the story with that?? Did you flip your gourd when told you that you guys didn't buy the right one?? I sympathize...I can picture myself doing the same thing. Neat story.

wow...it's been such a long time since i posted...damn finals and end of the year school stuff...it's been keeping me busy. Anyways...glad to hear you're kicking ass at poker dave! just wanted to check in and see how everything is going...and say that the new NIN cd IS amazing...amazing stuff...great great cd.

here's a question for dave...being that eric avery is touring with garbage now, what is your opinion of that band and their new cd?

in my opinion the new garbage cd is fantastic...after being a looooong time fan...i was disappointed by "beautiful garbage" but the new cd is garbage with a vengeance...even Dave Grohl plays on the opening track. good stuff

good luck to everyone taking finals in school!

and much love to everyone!

Dave, you and Trent collaborating would be fantastic. Ever mentioned it to him?

Posted by: Soft spoken at May 7, 2005 05:07 PM

Ok. I'm inspired. The guys around here are into some Texas Hold'em. Think I'll have to hostess a tourney here at our place. Sounds like fun. Getting ready to tune into CFR and hopefully a relaxing evening. Just had a yard sale and it kicked my butt. Alot of work, but made over $1,100, and de-junked my basement. Now it's time to rest.

Soft Spoken- Dave has already collaborated with NIN. Further Down the Spiral, I believe.

Glad you did better than I did at poker last night, Dave. I lost my buy in on a hand I thought I had for sure. Oh well. We play with a really small buy-in so not a huge loss.

I've had my own share of good luck today, i won $900 on the Kentucky Derby today! yeeha!!!
had to share, I never win anything!
lucky day for me, 1st live camp freddy show and first derby win! i'm on fire, stop drop and roll!!!

Posted by: sweetmelis at May 7, 2005 06:39 PM

Hey Dave, I'm just getting into NIN, I have with teeth, but I don't know which one to get next. Any suggestions?

Posted by: amy at May 7, 2005 06:47 PM

Dave,
I'm surprised that a guy with your dough plays hold 'em for only a $100 buy-in. Is that due to the other players and their financial status or just your comfort level of gambling?

Hey I finally got on-air on CFR!!!

Later,

Posted by: Mike from NYC at May 7, 2005 07:06 PM

Amy...as a long time NIN fan...i believe that the next album you should get from them (or him as NIN is trent) is The Downward Spiral...probably one of teh best and most important CD's of the 90's...if you're still interested...after that...try to get the EP Broken...phenomenal work on that one...then get Pretty Hate Machine and then followed by that, get The Fragile...also...if you can...try and get your hands on the Perfect Drug single...it has a few awesome mixes of that ammaaaazzziinnng song...esp the Meat Beat Manifesto one...another great band.

Sorry, that was more long winded than i expected...but...huge nin fan here lol. hope that helps :-)

Congrats on the award!!! And thanks for being an inspiration, musically, spiritually, etc. When is NorCal (Sacto) going to be graced by the presence of The Panic Channel? Come on now, it's not that far away.

Just tunin in to CFR, 80 minutes into the show unfortunately...and Carmen Electra, is the shit! I think it's awesome she gets Dave's sense of humour and plays along with everything (the poker good-luck charm thing, the Jerry Cantrell-Madchen Amick trade, etc). Most guys would comment on how lucky Dave is to have Carmen Electra, "hot supermodel"...I say Dave's lucky to have Carmen Electra, "one damn cool girl"!

Gotta check out the whole show when it goes up on the CFR Flash Player.

Peace!

One mo' thang......Carmen was very cool & sweet.....talking about Jerry Cantrell & the candle, thankfully she does get Dave's sometimes very warped sense of humour.

Dave's got a new fave? Dr. Rey's wife? What's the deal with her?? She's okay looking, I don't understand the 'drool' factor.....then again who knows what turns certain men on?? loool

From watching Dr. Rey's show she does seem as nice as Carmen & she is extremely patient putting up with Dr. Rey's obsession with his career, his exercising & gazing at himself in the mirror~!

He's more into his job & himself than his wife and family. I have some other thoughts as to why he seems to ignore her.....but I can't post them here! looool

hey family
i need sum advise please...

well, you all know my predicament with my girlfriend, where my girlfriend and i have been together for 2 years and after a tough time lately she said she wants a month break from me and at the end of the month she will tell me if she wants to be with me or not...

well, she told me lastnight what she wants. she says she loves me and that she wants to be with me now, but at the end of the year she has decided that she is moving back home to Johannesburg(we are living in Cape Town now) and she wants to go back home alone. she says she wants to go travelling and to study more in Johannesburg, but that she wants to do that alone.

i feel like i won half the battle, that she wants to be with me now, but what about later at the end of the year?

what do i think?, what do i feel?, what do i do?

any advise, family? please?

kyle

Posted by: Kyle at May 8, 2005 02:11 AM

Kyle

It sounds like you've been very understanding and patient with her,i dunno the in's and out's but it seems like the relationship is on her terms, your back together but she's already put an expirey date on it.
You have to ask yourself if its worth being with her even though she has said that your going to lose her again.
Can you go through that again?
Relationships are give and take.Ask yourself what it is you want out of this relationship and if can she give it to you.

Good luck.

thanks mooya

its just that i mentioned to her that there's a long time till the end of the year and a lot might change by then. what would you all do?
i want to give this my best shot in the hopes that things will have changed between us and that when the end of the year comes maybe she would have changed her mind.
is that a good choice? what would you all do in my situation?

i just feel like im stuck between a rock and a hard place.

any more advise, please?

Posted by: Kyle at May 8, 2005 06:33 AM

Hey Everyone! Just a quick hello...

Dave - I'm glad that you had such a wonderful evening. You and your lovely wife deserve it. :)

Kyle - MOOYYAA is right. I don't know the whole situation, but it sounds like your girlfriend is jerking you around, only doing what's convenient for her, w/o caring about YOUR feelings. (It actually makes me angry to hear that she's doing this to such a nice guy as yourself.) You deserve better than that. I can't tell you what to do, I can only say what I would do in that situation. I would say "screw it... I don't need someone who's going to put deadlines and restrictions on their love for me. It's not worth it... Single life can be just as good, if not moreso." Just my two cents.

Lastly, I'm sending 'props' to all the mothers out there, here and in the afterworld. Thank you for giving us our lives; if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be here and we wouldn't be who we are today. God bless the mothers on Mother's Day and always!

Love,

-Denise

Dave!! Good morning to you and yours!!
Have you ever seen Coffee and Cigarrettes, the film by Jim Jarmauch? I think you and Billy would have been wonderful in it, am watching scene with Jack and Meg White right now, and Iggy's scenes are priceless!!

Wonderful idea with auctioning a chance to be a guest host on Camp Freddy Radio, I am currently the high bidder, how many 6767ers can I cram into the studio?

Lastly, love to all the moms and daughters and sons...I am not feeling like much of a mom myself today...missing my boy...missing my mom...

Dave, alot of singers write vague, metaphorical lyrics, as apposed to bearing their soul and quite often feeling very vulnerable on stage. Where do you feel Perry stands on this?
