I wanted to post this on the last thread but it's closed....

Check out the 'Dream Date' winners Feedback....seems as if he hasn't paid for a few ebay auctions in the past....."Blame it on that darn cat.", "House burned down.", "First thing ever, didn't know what was going on". It's almost comical, if it weren't for him being downright rude & a time waster!

So it's doubtful this guy was truly serious about paying up that $407,500.00. Guess the runner up Bidder wins. There were so many Bidders, I'm sure ebay will have no problem picking an alternate winner.

It would be very interesting to know how ebay deals with winners of high end auctions who don't pay up. You have to figure not too many people have an extra $400,000 in their back pockets.

There should be a way to find out if the Bidders do indeed have that kind of cash. Pre-registering & perhaps being able to check a persons financials before bidding on these sort of expensive auctions?

By pre-checking the Bidders, it would save a lot of time & energy and eliminate the people who are just fooling around.

Either way, it was pretty fantastic & very cool of Carmen to do this auction! I hope the person who does go on the date is decent & personable......and Carmen doesn't have the urge to run the other way. loool

Love, love, love the idea of 6767 TV!!! For live streams 30 users may not be enough if you're talking concurrent conntections to the server especially if you use IM/chat during the live feed. Once word gets out you'll be innundated!

The Indian head test pattern was used to demonstrate the amateur status of the tv "network", as if they didn't have enough $$ for a "real" logo. Instead, they just used the cheap test pattern laying around the studio, which is normally used for offline video calibration of the signal transmitters.

Wow! The idea sounds great!

I just can't be too happy about it or anything else at the moment. I'm taking my dog to its last walk in morning and then to the vet where he'll be put to sleep eternally because the cancer's got the best of him and the vet says there's nothing to do to cure him. I feel like falling to pieces, it's just all so wrong yet it's best to my best buddy, I know.

Hey FGF, I guess I'll take the liberty of trying to respond to your question, since D, probably won't see it here. To the best of my knowledge, Dave has ALL kind's of friend's, from all kind's of race's. I'd imagine he doesn't keep track of his friends by labeling them based on Race, he's way beyond that... but he's jammed with Usher, MJ, P.Diddy, and some other black musician's, and openly stated how much he enjoyed meeting/playing, and basically just being a part of those musical endeavor's. So as a man without a racist bone in his body, i would be willing to say to that, the answer would probably be "yes, of course". Sorry for taking the liberty of answering for you D. BTW, I don't know if the racist comment made by someone, earlier in this thread was noticed by most, or is just being ignored, but it was flat out ignorant, and Dave should ban you for that comment.
