Mid-Week

Damn these weeks fly by fast. Today is all about finishing up Blue Bruises and Awake for me. We have the schedule staggered now so I work for a few hours and then Steve works for a few. It seems to be a lot easier on the head and soul this way. It's not just 12 straight hours in a row, all perspective lost. Today also marks 2 full weeks off the smokes for me! Just checkin in to say hello... Not much to report.

Dave, have a magical time in the studio, and congrats on hitting the 2-week mark.

Have a stupendously fantastic day, everyone. Or at least a decent one.

Well done Dave for the 2 weeks of no-smoking!

A few things...
-Dave, have you heard the new Nine Inch Nails song "The Hand That Feeds" - if so, what do you think to it?

-Also, can i just say that CFR is awesome! It is highly addictive and i could listen to you and the guys for hours! The acoustic TPC songs have been mouth watering - i can't wait to hear the album!!

Cheers!
Ben ;)

Dave

I was wondering does your wife smoke? If not how does she deal with your smoking when you did smoke? By the way congratulations on quiting, I quit over 2 years ago and havent been back since. The only way i was able to quit was to stop hanging out with my buddys who smoked. I know that sounds drastic but for me that's the only thing that worked.

Posted by: belbivdevo at March 23, 2005 01:37 PM

Yay, Dave! I'm still smoke-free as well. I am so proud of me... and you, too. MUAH!

Hey dave,
congratulations on quitting smoking. My boyfriend smokes and of course I want him to quit but he has been clean off cocaine for 2 months and off heroin since sept. So I'd have him smoke than shoot up or snort

Posted by: kathleen at March 23, 2005 04:17 PM

Hey-
I've never posted anything on this website before, but have been reading it for years. I just read the Power of Now and figured why not post? Anyone in NYC?
Dave, I quit smoking a year ago and it's the best thing I ever did- congrats...

Posted by: donna at March 23, 2005 06:22 PM

Rantz-I have to read the exerpt to "Anansi Boys" by Neil Gaiman or Neil to you! Just showed up in my email! Stardust was ok. Whats the book that follows "American Gods"?
That was a fun one, I think "Neverwhere?" is the masterpiece thus far. Ive only read those three. Is there another must read that Ive missed?

Dave-did you hear "After All" yet? Did it suck a fat one? Ill admit to smokin the glass dick around that time! Not cool but most people wont understand this anyway.

Its snowin like a mofo here, anyone else from CT or CT area hit up this site or TPC?
Any Hatebreed,Edipus, Psychadelic Breakfast or Spring-Heeled Jack fans? Gotta pay some respect to the New Haven scene. "Hey yo...Bo knows this...and Bo knows that... but Bo dont know jack... cuz Bo cant rap..its the D"-Dinco D of Leaders of the New School/Losers of New Haven.

Hope I dont get whooped upside the head foo!

Congrats on 2 weeks Dave. I've been busy and in lurk mode for awhile but I still check in all the time. Thought you might want to know you've inspired me. Watching your new band come togeather has really kicked me in the ass, I've been playing and writing more and more. An old friend called me up a couple of weeks ago, great bass player. I think we're gonna put together a band. And I thought I was done with this stuff, haha. Thanks Dave.

HELLo Dave, I'm finally to the happy ending in yer book and wanted to tell U how much of th' read was like looking into a mirror for me. I haven't quit 100% like U but when I read 3/4 of the book I would get th' shakes and even cold sweats at times. I a'm really close to being done with my addiction (same as yours, especially shootin coke)and wanted to thank U for opening your life to us who feel close to U. I wanna do it a few more times but then I really wanna focus on a new band I'm putting together. Thanks again for yer story and keep up the no smokes. those will be soon for me as well. Until next time, only death is real, codsos. Oh and I'm totally into all yer solo and new material. U rule dude

Congratulations on the two weeks! Apparently Chris Cornell just quit too. Is there like a rock no smoking pact?!

Hey!
Well done Dave! 2 weeks is more than I think I can last.

But, me being stupidly in love with this guy, who told me to stop smoking and gave me the reason of "for him", I have agreed.
All because I'm in love with him. Oh well....maybe this might get me closer to him....who knows.

Greetings all- Saw Constantine last night. As a movie, I thought it was average at best. But I now know what Dave was referring to when mentioned that the movie Constantine reinforced his desire to stop smoking. I have to assume it's the scene in the end when Luciferhimself reaches into Keanu's chest with his hands and literally pullsout two big fist-fulls of gooey, thick, black tar and stands there with
the muck dripping from his hands. Taking day off tomorrow- have a nice weekend all.

For those of you old enough to remember them...sad news today:

Mar 24, 9:16 AM EST

The Associated Press

WILTON, New Hampshire -- Guitarist Rod Price, founding member of the blues boogie band Foghat, died Tuesday after falling down a stairway at his home, a family friend said. He was 57.

The London native's solos drove Foghat to three platinum and eight gold records during the band's quarter-century career. After many years of touring he settled in Wilton in 1994.

Many in town knew Price as a loving father who never missed his son's baseball, soccer or basketball games. Fewer people knew of Price's musical background.

Price had played with Champion Jack Dupree, Eddie Kirkland, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon and Honey Boy Edwards.

In recent years, Price concentrated on his blues projects, cutting several CDs and giving private guitar lessons at his home.

I know there isn't a day that go's by that some don't think about trying just one more time so I won't talk about that stuff anymore. U have given me hope that, some day soon I hope, I will be drug free too. Well until next time , only death is real. Posted by: codsos at March 24, 2005 08:46 PM

Dave, I know this one girl I really like, I'm just a little confuse. The thing is I'm all against any drugs use, including tobacco! (I salut you for stopping :D), and she's in for using psychedelic drugs for some kind of "transcendent insight." I know for sure that she's not the kind of person that would abuse it, so I guess it's pretty cool for now. I'm just worry about her health and things like that you know. A little advice maybe? Thanks!

Life rules! don't fuck it up!
I dont mean to sound condesending, but kids to-day need to take a long drive out into the country or climb a mountain or somthing, get their heads clear without the use. Dave congrats on getting clean but man i was on Panic channel and one of the questions you awnsered to was about your last day on earth, your answer was "spoon my wife or just do drugs". Man when in a position to infulence, don't do your self an injustice.
Your clean and staying clean so promote that instead of the other shit! Remember the pens mightier than the sword unless your sword is a guitar!!!!!!!!!! sex, love and rock and roll!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to ask... Dave! You said that you listened a lot of classical music, so what's your style... Baroque, Romantic, Impressionism, Modern, Avant-Garde...
Name few composers or tunes... I prefer R.Schumann (the lunatic one,but genious),Mozart (Requiem/lacrimosa makes my weep every time... so great live)
and I love French impressionism C.Debussy stuff. The art paintings from that time are great too ( monet etc..) After that everything went to cubic shitt...
I like picasso but guess I 'm old fashioned...
Have a great day and sweet dreams without nightmares...

Next week on to journey to Prague, Czech... What a beautiful city... All this gothic statues, buildings and of course girls! wow .. they're beauties!

Just got home from seeing the Black Crowes at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC! I just love them! I got to see Yoko(Kate) Hudson. Strange how she knew the words to the songs of the band she made break up!!! That's just my opinion! Anyway, they were incredible if anyone is interested!
By the way, Hammerstein has the best sound I've ever heard at a show! I highly reccomend going there to see your favs!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey Dave! what up fam!

I have a question for u Dave if your doing "Easter Sunday 10" today "P

Do you n' Carmen watch porn together?? I do have reasoning behind my question here, last night (and on other occasions also) we were going to watch a movie, and I was like lets watch a flick together right, he kept farting around, and I finally asked him if he didn't like watching it together...he said it made him feel uncomfortable!! I am shocked, we did watch some shitty porn together before early in the relationship, but I like to watch it also...
Does anyone else watch porn with their partners here??? Or is my papi the only sensitive one.......lol
Thanx Dave

Have a Happy Easter everyone...free day to pig out huh!!

Dave,
Are you down with Django Reinhardt?

One of the most snatched torrents is vid of Django

Have one of your assistants look into it.

Good morning Dave, good morning family!!

ok,Dave, it's an "anything goes" Sunday, what do you hit first, the sugar peeps, the marshmallow eggs, the jelly beans?

my personal favorite, the malted milk eggs. I'm more partial to salty over sweet as a rule.

ok, now for the spicy question, I was reading in Blender magazine a comment Carmen made about you and 'oral lovin'',so to speak, Do you care to elaborate?

love to all this day of rebirth, everyone gets a do-over!!!!

Happy Birthday Beth!! *bit the head off a bunny in your honor* I'm getting a little break as we are having company in two different shifts today, so I thought I'd check in and wish everyone a Happy Easter. *loves the milk ball eggs like my Jezzi-girl* It's pouring down rain here, and very cold, but I don't care because there is a feeling of Spring in my soul that can't be drowned by the drizzle. *says a prayer for Creepy*
Big Hugs to all,
Bonita

Thanks, Angel and Bonita....and Bonita, thanks for clearing that up--I would hate to think you did that to a poor defenseless bunny for me....

Dave, come out, come out, wherever you are (seriously, though, enjoy the day with your lovely Carmen, and check back in when you can)....BTW you guys look so happy in InStyle, and the crib looks awesome (can I steal some of the decorating tips?)!

Posted by: ceechica at March 27, 2005 04:36 PM

Posted by: steelkitten at March 27, 2005 05:44 PM

Yikes. I must be missing some real drama over at TPC.

Posted by: Dana at March 27, 2005 06:36 PM

Now I see why Dave might not want to come back here. One bad apple..... how true!
I guess we all have our own issues, and some of us feel the need to spread their disease. To be cliche yet again, misery loves company! And this is one miserable person looking for some attention. Well, consider yourself noticed. I hope you find some peace somewhere in your realm of misery! it's a shame you feel compelled to alienate this group of people.

I hope noone else here has a fraction of the issues being flung around her lately.
