Friday

Whiteblack1. Dave, interesting picture, what exactly is it of and did you create it yourself?

That's a double exposure Polaroid. Yes, I just had it on a tripod and set the timer... twice.

2. Dave, was just reading in LA Times that Indie radio is in midst of ownership change. Does that mean that Camp Freddy Radio is going to be Radio Romantica?

Actually, the changes over at Indie, in all seriousness, are not gonna change the programming or shows in any way.

3. Are you ever going to do the show "Til Death Do Us Part" again?

Well, the whole show was just one season about us planning our wedding and getting married, so probably not. The whole story has already been told.

Nothing much new to report. Steve and I are psyched to play in the poker tournament at Shannon's house tomorrow. No Limit Texas Hold Em. The thing will eventually be televised as it is part of a "home game" poker show. I don't know who else is playing, but I do know that Shannon is a rough one at the table. Aggressive, ruthless, hard to read and really pretty (which is really distracting). I have played in her home game before, but I actually walked out of there way up. Of course, THAT wasn't televised!

Yay...glad to hear T.K. will not have to change his hair, or you and Billy will not have to change format...

My, Dave, aren't we posting early?

1ST? Enjoy your weekend break Dave. Make sure you come back from the poker game with at least your shirt. Shannon is way fine, her husband made a cameo appearance along side her in Jay & Silent Bob strike back(Chris Rock's camera man at the end of the movie), how the hell did that happen.

Would TPC consider doing Donington with VR this year?

Be safe, be happy

DAVE, OLQ(ONE LAST QUESTION)

WHEN YOU PLAYED NOTTINGHAM ROCK CITY NOV ON THE STRAYS TOUR, MY MATE AND I SHOUTED OUT FOR SLOW DIVERS AND 1%. BOTH PERRY AND YOURSELF INTERACTED WITH US, AND PERRY SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO RE-LEARN SOME OF THE REQUESTS. 2 DAYS LATER AT YOUR FLASHMOB GIG, YOU PULLED OFF A VERSION OF 1%. DID OUR CONTSTANT REQUESTS PROMPT YOU GUYS TO GO BACK OVER THE SONG?

Posted by: TONTO1% at February 25, 2005 08:18 AM

DONI(N)GTON OR LEEDS WOULD DO ME... IN FACT ANYWHERE IN BRITAIN WOULD BE A GEM....

DAVE WERE YOU INVOLVED IN THE CHILIS COVER VERSION OF KISS' COLD GIN, WHICH WAS (APPARENTLY) REJECTED OFF THE KISS MY ASS ALBUM? IF NOT WHAT WAS THE LINE(PLEASE DONT SAY ARIK MARSHALL)

Good morning dave and family

good luck dave on the tourney.

have a great weekend all :)

Posted by: karrie at February 25, 2005 09:01 AM

Good luck at the game, Dave. Either Shannon is a great actress or a really easy to read player, the last time I saw her on CPS, she was almost crying and really frustrated when she was down, and glowing when she was up! Try to look BEYOND the pretty face and read the tells, and bring home lots of $$!

YAY VR DATES!! JONES BEACH HERE WE COME!!!

Good morning Dave and family,
SPRING CLEANING!! I'm having a love/hate relationship with my house. Who does the decorating at your house? I got my hubby interested in the HGTV and TLC shows, and now he's as bad as I am about looking for the bargains and just the right "accent pieces" for our home. Who's got the "eye"...you or Carmen?
Have a great weekend!!

heres a quick joke.

if you are involved in music you will know that poor drummers get the short end of the stick always. i donno why, but they always do(often to my amusement), lol. so here is a quike drummer joke

3 guys die and go to Heaven. there Saint Peter says, 'Heaven is rather full, tell me what instuments you played and your IQ and only the best will enter!"

1st guy comes up and says, "i played 8 instuments brilliantly, like the violen, piano, clarinet and more and i have a 160 IQ." Saint Peter says, "exellent, come on in"

2nd guy says, "i played 5 instument brialliantly, like the piano, saxaphone and flute, and i have a 150 IQ."
Saint Peter says, "brilliant, come on in!"

3rd guy says, "um, i , like have an IQ of like 60."
Saint Peter says, "oh really, what kind of sticks did you use???"

lol, hope that made you smile?

Today's pic is quite a blast from the past! As was yesterday's...

I'm glad we can look back on those days with a sense of nostalgia, knowing that Dave is still around, better than ever, kicking butt, with a bright future.

Dave,
Be honest now...Have you secretly been practicing some Crue tunes, just in case?

Hey Dave,

Have fun tomorrow. I never knew that there was an underground celebrity poker and blackjack circuit going on (probably because I'm not a celebrity). You guys play for the same stakes as you do on TV?

Have a great weekend everybody

hey dave, what made you decide to do this blog?

Posted by: Ana at February 25, 2005 04:03 PM

Dave,

Have you ever listened to Nick Drake? He was an obscure artist who committed suicide in the 70s after only 3 albums. Awesome guitar player. I highly recommend it.

Rich

Posted by: Rich at February 25, 2005 05:08 PM

Dave,

I was wondering if Hunter S. Thompson's death had any effect on you. I had the opportunity to sit down with him once and he asked me what music I was listening to and I told him Jane's Addiction and that fascinated him so he listened to the song I had on, "Trip Away" and said, "I wish I had been listening to this band back in the 70s when I was a junkie." I took it as a compliment. Both of you guys have similar writing styles in that you write the way you speak which is very hard to pull off. I've become a fan of this blog solely because of the writing. I was sad he ended it the way he did and after reading your book (Bill Ford gave me a signed copy) grateful that you didn't.

I found this on a bridal forum of all places and wanted to see if Dave remembered this (it was under the thread title of "Most Humiliating Celebrity Encounters"):

"I passed Dave Navarro from Jane's Addiction in a hallway last summer, and I could see him coming from about 30 feet away. Now, I have always had a major thing for this guy, long before Carmen or any of his recent notoriety. We made eye contact, and in an impulsive moment I gave him a sassy little wink and smile as I passed him. Smooth, right? Well, I then proceeded to trip on my own shoe and cover about 8 feet of hallway doing this careening arm-pinwheeling thing as I tried to avoid falling on my ass. I regained my composure just in time to see him round the corner out of sight with a huge smirk on his face. Ah well, so much for my mystique."

Just stopping by to say, "Hi!" I'm touching up the roots on my highlights so I'm posting with a bunch of foil on my head.

Just thought I'd share that for no apparent reason.

Dave...next time you see your friend Messy can you tell her what an MPC sampler is? I would assume you know....do ya? Someone needs to buy that chic one so she can make some beats. Have her play my cd for you if you visit her. That would make me smile like a mammatamma.

Dave,

Do you have any of the old loops from your previous incarnation of 6767?
I can't exactly remember the name you used for one inparticular, but it became "Everything" and it kicked ass the way it was perfectly looped.
The lads and I in LE, would like to have a little fun with them, if you are OK with it.

ALANIS MORISSETTE - You Oughta Know
SUN 60 - Mary Xmess & Never Seen God

Thank you,

Dave,

Could you guys have used the "Kettle Whistle" versions of "Ocean Size" and "Mountain Song" on the "Nothing's Shocking" album, or could you only use the versions during the NS recording sessions?

The insulter obviously hasn't been around many vaginas in his life.
