Day 5 - A
(Thank you for sending in the old picture... Memories.)
Here is a little news from deep within the studio trenches. We re-tracked GO On today and I did a bunch of new guitars on it after Chris did his bass track. All I will say is this about that: It is FOR SURE 100 times better than the old one, and not because it's faster... Steve. I know you are not sold, but I would never try to sell you something that you already own. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... Own it!
This is very exciting news. I have apparently been christened King of LA bloggers by Tony Pierce. Now, I have never met Tony, nor do I know who he is, but I have a feeling that he is a deep and perceptive guy. The news of this christening ran on Blogging.LA. Tony's original post can be found here. Thank you Tony for the support, now I'm all fucked up trying to be interesting and clever! (That'll be the day...)
Looking forward to 20/20 tonight. Corey Feldman is going to come out against Michael Jackson and tell us all about his trips to Neverland. I would never publicly mention this if he already hadn't, but I met Corey years ago in rehab when he got into all that trouble way back when. I suppose I stayed in trouble a lot longer than him, but now it appears that he, at least, had a reason! I was just a junky. Hey, I'm not saying that the matter should be taken lightly by any means, but if he's gonna go on TV and tell us about it, I'm damn sure gonna check it out! (This Friday, Feb. 11, at 10 p.m. on "20/20")
I'll get to some questions when I wake up...

Yes Dave, you are the King of Blogging...and I might even venture to say, not only "L.A. Bloggers," but perhaps of all bloggers, don't ya think....

Corey Feldman!!!!!
Did anyone in the UK see the documentary Michael Jackson's boys......
What amaizes me is that his family didn't notice (or want to notice) and get him to see a therapist about it.

Hey Dave...the other day you responded saying there were a bunch of good questions posted...but you only answered one that day. Any chance you could re-visit that day and answer the more interesting questions (ie hopefully mine?!)
Thanks...Daniel

Hey Dave,
Can't wait to hear the new "Go On". One of my favourite TPC songs so far. Guitar question for you, have you ever used the Boss GT-3? I bought one on the cheap last month and I'm hooked. So many sounds... The only bad thing about it is I spend my time messing with all the different effects and by the time I get to the end of all the effects I'm worn out, guess I'll just have to slow down a bit. Anyway, if you do use it I was wondering what tracks (if any) you have recorded with it?
PS Please bring TPC here sometime, we need some good music here in Dublin (which isn't "The Frames" or Damien Rice etc. zzzzz)!

Congrats to the new King!!!!I don't think I've ever read an uninteresting post from you! Don't worry just be you! That's who we love.

I was wondering, I don't know if you're "big" on the Zodiac. I tend to be pretty amazed with alot of it. Don't live by it, but surely buy into it. Anyhow, being that there's three Gemini's in TPC, do you notice having much in common with your personality traits? For example, a Gemini is known to have great conversation skills and is good with words. (Gemini's talk alot!) And if I'm right, the 4th is Perkins, who's not a Gemini. What sign is he? (Poor Perkins! Does he get a word in edgewise? Haha. I keed! I keed!)
P.S. You're absolutely amazing with what you say. These days, you seem to always have a right answer. Kudos! And thanks for the inspiration with life.
Sorry I'm being all mushy, but I was just reading through the archives. You rock! And why the hell haven't any of the other guys posted? I know Isaacs has his blog, but still!
Posted by: Jenn at February 11, 2005 03:56 AM
Dave,
I seriously don't believe that is a picture of you! I just can't believe it...can't....
*wanders off muttering to herself that it can't be...it just can't be...*
LMAO
Love always,
Liz

EVER???
Posted by: TONTO1% at February 11, 2005 04:47 AM
Yeah Deconstruction has to be one of my fav albums of all time. Even better than the Jane's albums.
That is one album I said "Oh Shit!..." when I listened to it back in the 90s.
It still makes me say it.
It must be those white PRSs. They go to 11.

Oh, and Tony Pierce is a political zealot. Ignore him, even if he does say good things about you.

Hi Dave & friends,
I LOVE THAT PIC. That's always been one of my favorites from "back in the day". You look every inch the guitar god that you are.
Congrats on being crowned the King. I don't know who else blogs in LA, but I still think you deserve the title.
And best of luck with the TPC recordings and all that good stuff. I know how tricky it can be to collaborate creatively with others and get everyone on the same page. That's because everything is just so subjective.
I know that it will all come together and you guys will make beautiful music that you all love. If not, you guys can always switch it up when you play the songs live. :)
All the best,
-Denise

Wow, Dave - I will have to check this out on the home 'puter as I am still at work!
I plan to watch the 20/20 interview tonight. I always liked Corey in the movies. But what I find interesting is you say he is coming out against Michael? I read, early this morning, that he isn't against Michael and still says he was NOT touched inappropriately and he never witnessed Michael touching anyone inappropriately. He said he did see a book with nude pictures at the house . . . it will be interesting to see what he does say.
If they are supbeoning (sp) Corey, I wonder if they will do the same with MacCauley or Roberto . . .
"why, why, tell them that it's human nature . . . "

Dave, when my Navarro PRS arrives (on order), is there any way I can send it out to your publicist or whoever I can go through to get you to sign the backplate? They say it'll be 5 months in the making...
Thanks!
Tim

Post both versions of "Go On" and ask us what we think...
Posted by: Mike at February 11, 2005 08:04 AM
Hey Tim, from where did you order the Navarro PRS and what's the street (list was like 3200)? I saw them at NAMM and I'm giving it some serious consideration. I have a '94 Cu24 and I love it.
Thanks,
Rob
Oh, and thanks Dave for answering my question about the Yamaha a few days ago.

Trust me, the last thing you want to do is try to be clever. We've got enough bloggers in town trying to pull that shit, stick with interesting. It's way cooler.

Howard Stern mentioned that Corey Feldman was not really gonna be taken seriously because he never thought he should share these things for so long that why should. Why now was basically what they were saying if he had anything important to say?
Dave-youve met Michael Jackson, is he an interesting guy to talk to or is he shy. I guess youd have to watch your humor around him. No "Michael likes little boys cause they dont tell" kinda jokes Im sure but was he easy to talk with? I wonder who his influence are? James Brown? I love James Brown! I respect the man (Michael) for living through a tough life that may have suppressed some of his musical talents and self esteem at intervals of his life. I hope he is innocent for his own sake and for that of the chrildren he claims to be trying to help.
Dave-have you met Paris Hilton? I work at a Hilton property! Could you comment on what she is like, she gets so much spotlight but continues to have this mystique/hidden personality that makes it hard to figure out what shes all about. Many hate her....I have no reason to. What do you know bout the girl?

i think i'm going to have to watch the MJ thing on 20/20 tonight...iv'e always been a huge fan of his music...and for some reason...while i think horrible acts may have been committed...i don't think michael views them as wrong, just that he was genuinely showing affection to these children...i think he's a very ill person...and i hope he gets the help he needs cuase he is so talented and it's so tragic.
as for someone who said his family is refusing to seek help...that is probably because they are Jehovah's Witnesses...and anything outside of the church, be it doctors, psychiatrists, therapists...w/e...are considered to be part of satan, so they view going outside of the church for help as seeking solace in satan...i know it's strange...but it's their beliefs.
anyways...class time...i'm out...much love to everyone here!

So shall we now refer to this site as kingdom 6767?
And can we start calling Carmen, Queen Electra or you for that matter King Dave not to be confused with Dave the king of Mexico (kroq)
Or maybe we’ll just call you, your fineass Navarro. I mean your highness Navarro.
I’ll quit now while I’m behind.
(by the way I’m eternally grateful for what you and Steve are doing)

"and no im not a political zealot, i just think the president is a dope and i say so every once in a while."
I have no problem with making comments about any president being a dope.
I've read your page. You come off as a political zealot.
Sorry.
