Hi Dave! It's been a while and you can't imagine how much I've missed this place and the Fam! Been abroad etc. so I haven't had too much time to check the TPC site out too much either. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do... Anyways, just wanted to tell you how much I love this place and everyone in it, especially Dave (but not in that gay way, however)!
Peas n' nuts!
Posted by: Pekka at January 20, 2005 01:23 PM
Hey everyone,
Thank you for the Birthday wishes. I greatly appreciate it since some of my friends have not called me today to do the same thing as of right now.
I agree with Blondie. Come back to NYC soon.
Later,
Mike from NYC

I had the most lucid, and erotic dream about Dave last night.
It was intense. Woah.

Hey Dave,
I heard that on the old 6767.com there were some videos of people who broke into your home and were wondering around looking for you and stuff.
This sounds like really crazy, but kinda cool to view shit.
Would you put those videos back up on the net somewhere? I'd love to see it.
Apparently one was called something like "invaded at home"?
Look forward to hearing from you.

does anybody know if there are still any tix available for the show? i'm trying to work out a flight down. thanks!
Posted by: christine at January 20, 2005 02:48 PM
Dave, I think it's awesome you play with pretty much anyone. I guess Usher would be the latest example. If you could assemble the "Band to End All Bands" who would be in it. You can pick from any musician dead or alive. BTW, what ever happened to the whole "Spread" name? Were there legal issues? I dug that unicorn logo.

Hey Dave - today I had a rush of blood to the head and won the auction for the printer's proof's to the Relapse CD on ebay which were up for through a very reputable 21,000 scoring Ebay seller. 33 pieces of proof artwork that went into the CD production including all the separations etc etc. I just wondered - of the early stuff do you keep a bunch either in books or framed for the house etc?

so, yesterday i was listening to indie when you stopped by TK's show and now I am a curious feline as to how your meeting went. i know you guys will share eventually, but allow me to encourage that as much as possible.

---------------------
Christine, tickets are sold out for the CF show on the 27th, but they wil evidently have some at the door. I've been to shows where that ends up not happening, but who knows until the night of.

"Dude, I've had that picture torn from whatever magazine it's from on the back of my door for years now! Where did it come from, I forgot."
Eric, that photo of Dave & Zoe Cassavettes, first appeared in an issue of US magazine. That's the first time I saw it. Courtney Love was on the cover.
A photo of Dave & some naked chick, appeared on the issues contents page, as well as many other photos of him inside....including one with designer Anna Sui.....and of course, there was the interview.
That issue was a keeper~!
Posted by: itanja at January 20, 2005 06:16 PM
dave,
first time; long time...are you by any chance bringing any of the cf or tpc vibe up to san francisco anytime soon?
thanks for all of this...the music, the site(s), the people, the insight, the love.

I just listened to the mp3 linked at the top. It sounds like the 27th is going to be an unbelievable evening. Yet another reason (besides the freezing NY weather) to wish I was in LA right now...

Have a great gig and say hello to Jerry... Rock your cock out... I wish I could made it ,but even if I would leave now the LA is too far away!

I have two questions:
1- Do you write music in sheet? If so, when did you learn?
2- Do you have plans for anything with Nuno Bettencourt?
Posted by: Count Duckula at January 21, 2005 07:42 AM
I think Dave recently learned sheet after taking
up the piano. I read it somewhere so it may not be
the facts :]

Hey now!
Mike in NYC: Happy Birthday man! Rock out with your cock out! How was the party? Any people from the forum arrive? Im in CT, if you ever check a show out at Toads Place, gimme a hollar. The guy who works the door is the old drummer from "Shakedown street" (dead cover band), and a good friend. Im goin there to see Badfish tonight after a work party.
Just to let everyone know, todays a better day today. Sorry bout the complaints, but just to let ya all know I got a last second date to the party, and the rental car is now so dirty that you cant see the scratches from the accident at the clinic yesterday. Shitty weather is good for something!
Jezzi and Rantz-any day now, Im excited for your reactions, whether good or bad.
Dave/Californians- To obtain a grow card for growing marajuana in Cali. Is it easy? I was told you can get them for various reasons as simple as having back pains or other addictions. How many plants can you have. What a wonderful law! I know some people are in recovery like myself and may not believe in the marajuana maintenance plan. Im just curious, I find it fascinating that legal growing is allowed. I myself have a green thumb, and the plants truly are beautiful. Anyone out there ever meet Jack Herer? Jerome Baker, the glass blower from california is popular on the East coast. Glass blowing is very trendy and popular here. If anyone ever wants glass ornaments made and personalized, I have a friend who does amazing work from wine glasses to ornamental items. You think it up, he brings it to life....incredible inside out work too..
Curious in CT

Hi Boots!!
Nice to hear you got another date!
About the marijuana laws in California...the feds still try to block states' rights, which means that just because California law permits the cultivation and sale of marijuana for such diverse illnesses as glaucoma, ms, bipolar disorder, and addiction recovery, doesn't mean the feds won't bring charges against those who run such clinics that perscribe or the growers that cultivate and sell to them
I would seriously do some online research and contact some clinics...
that's my opinion
jezebel(I was going to pay my bills, but then I got high...remember that song?)
Posted by: jezebel at January 21, 2005 10:27 AM
JEZE-I know the song! your so helpful as always. I checked out Deena13 s site from TPC. I emailed her a poem, she has a poetry site for DAVE FANS at her site. Hope she will post it so everyone can read it. Its long, but has heart. I did it in rehab, and its a release of lots of energy and hurt. "Hippies on Heroin" Hope you see it. That cd will be arriving any day!
B double Oh if shes lucky!!

Boots -
I'm originally from CT too!! (Cheshire) I'm in LA now, but its a trip to hear about Toads and Shakedown Street!. Omigoshm, Are they still together? I used to see them all the time. Is Hubinger Street still playin around too? Anyway, just givin a shout out from another CT native...
re: medical mary... I know some people who have a license who totally scammed it. (they dont medically need it) I even know some cats in San Fran who scammed a license and now grow for the clinics, and make a FORTUNE!. (saw their basement with like 75 super kind plants growin...what a site.. big popcorn bowl of buds on the living room table...) anyway, to get one, I hear, you just have to go to the doctor, tell him that you have back problems or headaches and say that smoking marijuana helps a lot. He won't prescribe it, but you can call and get a copy of your medical records, and if they state that you discussed that with him, you can bring the records to a clinic and they'll give you a card. You can buy bags at the clinics. Don't quote me on that, but this is what the guys in San Fran told me how they got theirs, and I did see their cards and their abundance of amazing plants...
FYI
Much peace and love -

why did jane's cancel the montreal gig on the last (strays) tour, when you all were in town for the muchmusic special anyways? what's the real deal on that? (i was truly disappointed, i had great tix!)
i know i'm way down on the totem pole here today, but i hope you get a chance to answer anyways....

Happy Birthday to the special peeps!!
And Dave, this is kind of a "post-NAMM" question.
Did you happen to see any of the new Dimebag Hardware line (by Dirtbag) over in the Krank Amps booth? I've seen a hat, but that's all. He'd been working on it before his death, and I understand they are going through with the clothing line. Just wonderin'.
Posted by: Bonita at January 21, 2005 05:37 PM
Heylo Dave!
A couple curious little questions:
- How much do you goof when performing, do you just carry right on and/or make something out of that bad note?
- What are the last 3 or 4 chords in "Rexall" at the end, those heavy, dark chords that fill out the end, I love those :D

Happy bday Mike and Itanja! Hope it's a great one!
