The Sunday 10

Dsc00405(FreAk's car keeping the dream alive in France!)

1. Do you get a Christmas tree?

Ah, hell yeah we do!

2. Do you and your Dad get along well?

Yes, we do. Better than ever.

3. Dave, if you could travel back in time...what year would it be and what would you do?

To be honest, I'm kind of feeling the present so I doubt I would even want to travel to any other time. Well, maybe back to when Rene Russo was single and 17.

4. Do you get your guitars refinished now again?

No, but I have 4 identical PRS whites, and Phil, my tech keeps them all shiny and new...

5. Do you feel like there are certain almost routine times that you get depressed about your mom?

No, not anymore. It took some time to get through it all, but I really believe she is in a better place.

6. Is it just my lame computer or is anyone else having problems accessing Indie 103.1 Radio online?

It was the station's streaming service that was down. Sorry people!

7. Where did you find, or who made your suit that you wore for your wedding day?

Gucci.

8. I think Dono mentioned that you archive the shows on here. Where might I find it?

I think he was mistaken, but I am going to look into having the station rip MP3's of some shows to post.

9. What is your opinion of Mark Mcgrath with him doing that Extra shows these days. Many of his old fans cannot believe what this old hard-core singer is now doing reporting pop culture. I find it a bit odd that he is doing that now when I picture the old "lemonade & brownies" Mcgrath. Whats your take?

I see nothing wrong with a guy doing other stuff. What is he supposed to do, just go away? He's good at it and he is an entertainer, so whatever. So many people get so bent when an artist does anything other than his art. Believe me, I know. The guy is just working and staying out there. It's all good.

10. How did it feel when you got your first big pay check from being a musician?

Well, it definitely didn't suck.

i agree with dave in the mark mcgrath thing. it's up to an artist to decide what he or she wants to do...and plus...it's more exposure and more of a chance to see that artist if their your favorite celebrity. like dave, i only view it as selling out if you do something you don't want to do...otherwise, if you enjoy it, why not?

have a great sunday everyone...awesome answers dave...perhaps you can take a picture of the tree for us? just a suggestion...love you everyone

PS: Jezzi...i have not forgotten about the card...i'm just really busy with finals and such...i PROMISE you will get it

-Love, Emily

Am I first?

Thanks for talking to me last night Dave, I didn't realise it was you until you started talking more, then I recognized your great voice!

Hope the streaming problems are fixed for next weeks show!

I was all prepared to listen while Christmas decorating!

Hi everyone!

Speaking of the Christmas cards, Jezzi~ the email ended up in my junk mail and I just accidentally stumbled across it a couple of days ago. I'll find a card and send for your class one of these days :)

freAk~ Where did you get that TPC sticker??

I'm still a rambling idiot because of this guy who keeps messing with my head (and I don't even fancy him anymore) so I'll leave it at that :)

Have a good one everyone!

What do you think of Tom Waits?

Posted by: Aaron(FL) at December 5, 2004 01:26 PM

I wasn't shocked at all seeing Mark McGrath reporting on pop culture. WHY not? It's very cool to actualy have someone who has worked in the music field doing the reporting on one of those gossip shows, I don't see it as a sellout at all.

Mark can actually ask more relevant questions than the other reporters. He will possibly be able to score better interviews because he might actually know some of the musicians he's assigned to talk to. THAT aspect can only be a plus to the music fans watching the show!

It always helps when you are enthusiastic & know about your subject whether you are a reporter, writer or photographer!

I never understand why music fans get so bent out of shape when their idols do other things, such as acting, writing etc. So many musicians are very good actors & actresses.

Gina Gershon for example, I've always loved her as an actress, I was extremely surprised to find out what a good singer she is. I saw her IFC series about touring with her band, I was very impressed.

Some people have a lot of talent in so many areas, why shouldn't they do it all if the opportunities present themselves?

A Request....can everyone please send out their "good vibes" for my best friend & her husband out in San Francisco?

One of their beloved cats ran out of their house 3 days ago, it hasn't been found. Her other cat just died of cancer & my friend is very depressed over all this. All prayers & postive vibes are appreciated.

THANKS so much 6767 Family~!

itanja~ I'll be sending all my good vibes your way. My dog has cancer too, it sucks :( Hope your friend gets her cat back!

Thanks so much Chantelle!

I know I freaked when my turtle got sick last year, it turned out to be something very common, but I didn't know that at the time. It appeared as if she had a growth down her throat. The vet took it our 1-2-3!

It was just a build up of dead tissue which is very common in most reptiles. Like the way humans get plaque on their teeth! lol She was still swimming, eating & very active, so I didn't supect a thing until I saw her gasping a lot.

After the vet visit, I had to give her antibiotic shots everyday for two weeks, I have no idea how I did that, as I hate needles! I amaze myself sometimes.

I've had her since she was a hatchling, the size of a half dollar coin. She's now about 11 years old. Our pets are like our children!

I felt so helpless, then I found a great reptile vet in NYC who diagnosed it immediately. Thank God for that woman! The local vet just took my money, as he had no clue about reptiles, of course he didn't tell me that.

I live in NYC, a friend in Texas, a reptile expert, recommended the NYC vet...Thank God for the Internet!

Thanks again & take care!

Dave~
You mentioned you let God in your life and that has had a major impact on your personal recovery...If it is not too much to ask... Are you a Christian?...or what is your belief?
Just wondering cause you said that by letting God take over was so much easier for you. I have had alot of addiction issues in the past and was curious how and what works for you. Thanks

Hey Dave! Thanks for answering my question, You didnt have too, it wasnt that important. But thats cool that you get one! It'd be cute to watch you and Carmen on Christmas Morning.17? Maybe this would be a surprise to find this out but thats my age, and really I dont see anything special about it... I wish I was 18 which would be in August but that would make my work alittle easier. Anyways I'm gonna go, have a nice dayy!

Dave,

I've seen you play a Fernandes Ravelle. What's your take on this guitar?

Posted by: Mike at December 5, 2004 04:07 PM

Good day Dave and family.

Yes, I have been lurking and not so much posting for some time now. I do have the occasional chat with members of the family on MSN, but for the most part, I have been silent with my posting to 6767.com. The primary reasons are really these.. I have been having problems in my personal life (won't go into that) and secondly (more importantly to the 6767 family) is that I have been working on a website.

Ever since I have been introduced (by my bro, White Pony) and welcomed into the 6767 family, it has inspired me to get back to what I have done in the past.. doing websites andjust getting more active. Well 50% ain't bad but I am striving to get the other 50% going soon. Rest assured to that

As far as the website is concerned I had to think of a theme and again my bro, gives me the inspiration to do a Dave Navarro based site. I definately could see that, but it would have to be more than just Dave. I have got into so many things, that sharing it with others might be enough "therapy" to finally, once and for all, get me out of my dulldrums. So I started out on this quest to do a site and after many theme changes, idea changes and other interruptions, I think I have finally got the site to a point that I can officially let people look a bit more into "my world". Hence the name of my site Blackholetonowhere.

It's kind of scary, kind of whimsical and funny and maybe a bit dark too. That's how my life has been for some time now so I thought I'd share it and perhaps people will see me and can possibly relate to what I have been going through.

Since I have been part of the family for a while I think I can say that this place has been inspirational from the stories that have been told and how others have coped and I guess, I might as well say, that I've been able to relate to a lot of them and it has so very much helped. To everyone, including Dave, who have graciously shared their own experiences.. a HUGH THANK YOU to you all.

Well enough of my ramblings, you all want to rush over and take a look at the site ? Here is the URL for you and YES, there is a guestbook so you can all leave your comments on what you have seen and experienced.

Again, thanks to everyone who has helped me along the path so far.

PEACE and RESPECT,

Bruce Horne

Hey everyone!
Ok, so this is going to sound lame but I'm asking anyway...
Dave, you often mention that you have no rules on Sundays regarding eating... so, on sundays, do you just eat more carbs or do you actually eat sugar and stuff? I'm doing the low carb thing aswell, just because it feels healthy and blablabla, not for losing weight really.. I'm considering eating chocolate cakes or donuts on sundays... I think it's a bad idea.. hmm... :)
Take care everyone!!

Dave,
Have you ever met Buckethead, or considered doing any kind of music project with him or his "musical friends" (Les Claypool, Brain, Bootsy Collins, etc).

Posted by: Jeff at December 5, 2004 05:43 PM

Dave-are you still using any of your other guitars like the blue or black prs's anymore?

Posted by: Evan at December 5, 2004 06:21 PM

Greetings Dave and the rest of the family!

Itanja - I feel for your friends and will send positive thoughts that way.

CK - you need a preacher like mine! He has started a ministry to reach out to people with addictions. AA used to meet at our church, but they have moved to a community center a half block away. Any good counselor will help!

I have a request to send good thoughts this way. I have a sister who is a professional singer - three albums and many theatrical productions - and she has had a reaction to acid reflux and now needs to have an operation on her throat. She is afraid she will lose her voice. She is the same age as Dave and has been doing this since she was six. It could cost her her job.

Today, I had a horrible shopping experience and I would like to share my twist on an old classic with all of you:

Dashing through the snow
In a beat up Chevrolet
Over the hills we go
Flooring it all the way

Police car sirens ring
Giving us a fright
Oh what nerve to stop me now
It was only one red light

Oh, Christmas time, Christmas time
Fighting all the crowds
Looking for a parking space
Whenever I go out

Oh, Christmas time, Christmas time
Sharing all the joy
Looking for elusive gifts
For every girl and boy

My wallet seems so light
And my shopping list is tight
How can I get it all
And bring it home tonight?

The stores are all undone
You can not shop at one
No wrapping paper at your store
You have to go and shop some more

Oh, Christmas time, Christmas time
We all seem in a rush
The only way to haul your load
Is in a pick-up truck

Oh, Christmas time, Christmas time
I wish I had a gun
Instead of turkey on that day
We’d have Rudolf Au Gratin!

Peace and love to all!
me

hey dave, I can't wait to hear the new tpc stuff. I have to admit that I am a huge farrell fan. However, I see nothing wrong with being a big dave navarro fan also, even if u guys dont get along anymore, some of the brightest relationships are the shortest lived.

hey dave,

are you superstitious?

Hey Dave--first I wanted to thank you for answering my question about archived CFR shows. Someone was nice enough to offer me a tape of the show. I have to thank you again for how nice you have been to me the several times I have called. Everyone over at Indie has been incredibly nice to me and it makes me wish more that I lived on the West coast (I'm in Philly). Hopefully one day, you'll make it out east and I'll catch one of your shows and thank you in person :)

~ Dave do you think mtv will be coming out with til death do us part on dvd?~

I lost my only copy when the vcr ate it i was so pissed. I agree about the whole Mark Mcgrath thing the truth is you do have to stay out there and if he is happy that is all that matters. It is not selling out if you like what you are doing. i think it is great you have this website and regularly talk on it and anwser your fans. I truely think it says alot about you and how open you are about your life you have always been like i am who i am and that is what makes you special you do not glam it up because that is what people want to see.
Truely wish all the best for you and Carmen in the coming holidays.

Hey Dave, that show at the Butterfly sounded like it rocked! I live in Vancouver and unfortunately couldn't make it, but from what I've read it looked stellar.

Just a quick question. I read that Flea, Chad, and Vincent Gallo were in attendance. And POSSIBLE John Frusciante as well. If so, did you run into him?

Hey Dave

Freak's waving the TPC flag on his windscreen reminded me of a thought I had whilst toodling about in the car (i.e. commuting to/or from work) I'm looking at people's window stickers, liscence frames, etc and thinking 'all these white vinyl window stickers of Calvin pissing on __fillintheblank__ certainly suck. Fuck T-shirts, we need some white Vinyl TPC window stickers!" Image is striking enough to get people's attention. Do the url below the sysmbol so when people's curiosity about the symbol is worked up, they can become a convert.

(Aside: No, we do need t-shirts, just something... different.)

On another note: Got a copy of Heavier than Heaven, the Cobain Bio over Thanksgiving. Finished it tonight, and after reading that and your book, I have to say, first thought was "Damn Dave, I'm glad you didn't go that route." Time for some *light* reading now, I think. (Now, where'd that copy of Holy Blood, Holy Grail go?...)

Posted by: Rantz at December 6, 2004 12:32 AM

man, today was a confusing day. my band met for practise this morning at my friend (the drummer)'s old house (as she's moving tomorrow). so we write some guitar for a new song, then get our stuff together to walk up the mall to meet the bassist and bus to the new house.
outside, there are cops and news vans and they won't let us walk up the road, as it's all blocked off and we can't even be on that side of the road, we have to cross. and it turns out that a woman was stabbed to death, just up the road, either while we were at my friend's house, or just before we got there, because my other friend saw the ambulance when she arrived.

do you guys ever just lose faith in the people of this world? rebekah was afraid to even go home today, and i just feel so terrible. i don't understand how people can so easily destroy something as beautiful as life.
there's little wonder how you would feel about this, dave, having experianced such cruelty first hand.

i think some positive vibes are needed by the woman's 6 children. it feels terrible that sometimes the only thing you can do is pray.

Good morning to all in 67land. Hope you all had a great weekend, those of you who are experiencing rough times, thoughts, prayers and concern for you all. SCAB HAS NEARLY COME OFF TPC TATT...WILL POST A VISUAL AS SOON AS IS POSSIBLE......... BTW props to BruceHorn on the site he is creating...

Dave, now don't be embarresed to answer this but, well, do you straighten your hair? I've noticed when you've got shorter hair it looks a bit curlier. Anyway, I do it myself and I'm a guy so it's not all bad.

Posted by: Wilson at December 6, 2004 05:26 AM

Mornin all!

Ah wait, it's past 4pm here, it's not morning anymore. Ah, time does fly.

missjey~ I think rewarding yourself with something yummy to eat once a week could be good for you (as long as you don't binge and go on a guilt trip afterwards) Especially if you are veery peculiar about what you eat most of the time. I'm a vegeterian myself, and after my dog got diagnosed with diabetes recently I've found it difficult to grant myself anything I'd consider "unhealthy". With the prospect of actually getting sick because of it, it really doesn't tempt me much anymore. I made brownies on sunday, though (it's quite possible that I make the best brownies in the entire world. yay me! :), had two and gave the rest to people to take home. So basically what I'm trying to say is that I don't think it's healthy to deny yourself everything all the time, but be moderate and try not to go overboard with the sweets (cause it cAn actually make you sick)

I'll shut up now :)

do you still have the same guitar tech as you did in the instructional video you made with the mulleted dude?

Are you hanging out for Species III?
