D-dogg, perfect idea about the Camp Freddy show! I'm curious like Abby to which organization we can thank. Can't wait for the show, you know I'll be there!

Seems like most of you all are going to be hanging out at home tonight... There's a few possibilities for me of what to do tonight, but at this point I can't really tell ya what I'll be doing to ring in 2005. I have a feeling it will be low-key although I'm in a real mood to party down! The fantastic year I've had deserves an all out crazy celebration tonight.

I hope everyone has a wonderful time saying goodbye to 2004, and if you're going out please drive safely!

Happy New Year.

Who loves ya baby?!!

Jools Holland's Show was fecking excellent. Eric Clapton, Franz Ferdinand, Ian Hunter, Basement Jaxx, Amy Whitehouse, bagpipes, pearly kings and queens..etc.....and The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain doing a cover of Nevermind. At first the superstar audience there thought it was a joke, but then they all realised how cool it was! :O I bet everyone here is going to be rushing to the shops to try to find it.

Hey everyone... I was down at my guitar shop today and they just got the catalogue with dave's new signature acoustic.

They guitar dave's is based on lists for 1150. So would be willing to guess dave's will list for around 1400. What it will sell on I do not know, but I know my shop is ordering one.. and they are going to shove it in my face until I buy it. Oh well. Why work if you can't have the stuff you want.

Much love and happy new year.

mortisha8: a bass-playing chick who'll drink an excellent red wine with me and knows one when she sees it is always welcome to pull up a glass with me. Haven't started drinking it yet, though...my boyfriend and I got a couple's massage today (first time ever for him) so I'm trying to have just a little and wait til it's closer to 'the time' - massages release toxins...although the chick who did mine really sucked and likely didn't stir up much of anything since she didn't go deep enough. I hate that. That's the worst. Almost as bad as taking shrapnel in Fallujah or having my family wiped out in a tsunami. oy oy oy We suck, we lazy, unappreciative, gluttonous species of brats...so fuckle...I meant fuckle but it seemed Freudian, had to leave it...

**"Phillip Morris you get a big FUCK YOU next year our relationship is over! I want my health back!"**
Yes! I love this reminder of how greedy/evil. It is a fucking struggle to not smoke. On the up side, I have felt more motivated to take better care of my almost 30-year old body since I quit a few months ago. I'm starting a yoga class soon and I got a free trial membership at a gym. That's a big wow for me...the queen of music DVDs and reading magazines...all done ON MY ASS, naturally. Don't expect to be healthy right away, though...I've been sick for most of the few months it's been since I had my last cigarette, actually. Apparently, the detox process makes you at least as apt to come down with a flu/cold/bronchitis and the rest of the wonderful ailments of the respiratory system for about the first 9 months or so. That notion in itself scares me...9 months later they're still that influential on my health? Shit...

Sometimes it just feels better to TYPE it, doesn't it?

I can not believe the devastation in South East Asia. It's so much I can't read a whole article or finish the entire news broadcast...just too much. So terribly tragic. Makes me cringe to even begin to imagine...

This next comment feels terrible to type immediately following that last paragraph, but fuck it...too much obsessive empathy helps no one, so...

HAVE A GREAT FUCKING NIGHT!
Happy New Year!

BE SAFE. I read that in the area where the looting is worst in SEA, the police are forcing looters to sit naked in the street, to show everyone what they've done, as punishment.
Man...if we made that the punishment for drunk driving, there'd be WAY less people injured/dead due to that senseless, selfish act of insanity.
anyway...be SAFE! Have FUN!

Happy New Year everyone! Hopefully everyone had some safe, fun festivities this evening. My best friend came by and we watched the non-Dick Clark New Years Rockin Eve. Classic. That show is always a trip. Where else could you enjoy Billy Idol, Earth, Wind and Fire, and many, many people professing their "love for Dick"... we couldn't help but to chuckle. It was pretty hilarious.

On another note, RMM: I quit almost two years ago and I can sympathize. I've got to say, after smoking a couple packs a day for almost 20 years, quitting was the hardest thing I ever did. You should be so proud; it's quite an accomplishment! It does get easier, but unfortunately, the craving never goes away. At least it hasn't for me. I want one and think about having one, every day, but I no longer feel physically compelled to have one so looking at my little daughter is enough to stop me. Keep it up no matter how hard it is. It's so worth it on so many levels!

And good luck to everyone else who has made a resolution too! Reach for the stars and surf down a rainbow.

Spreading the noisemakers and confetti,
Deena

Happy New Year to everyone May all your wishes for 2005 Come, true, remember when you wish upon a star to always whisper I believe at the end of your wish. I am reading Dave's book right now and How funny that I just happen to be in rehab reading it, well not funny as Ironic, I'm in here for an eating disorder, but I traveled the course of self destruction pretty much the same. I am gaining a lot of knowledge from the book and find it hard at times to even put down. I am the sister of someone who is semi-famous and I was scared to admitt what I was doing to myself was destructive. I have had a lot of pain in my life for the last two years, My grandmother who raised me passed away last year after a freak automobile accident, my mother was struck with lymphomia, my dog of nine years passed away, I was attacked by my sister-in-laws ex-boyfriend and nearly killed (he thought I was her, I was babysitting and sleeping in her bed), and my childhood friend/first love was killed in Iraq, I lost it and thought I couldn't go on, but know after reading this book I realized those that you hurt while you are hurting yourself really feel more pain then you do. Thanks Dave for helping me understand this. I still have a ways to go and I'm hoping 2005 will be a better year. I am willing to make it a better year.
Peace

"Mini-me" actor Verne Troyer is 36 today. Don Novello, better known as Father Guido Sarducci, is 62 today. And can this be real? Author J.D. Salinger is still alive? 86 today.

And a very special birthday wish goes to Robert Cronk. Who is Robert Cronk, you're asking? Just the first American born-IN 1924! Happy 81st, Mr. Cronk!

I hate to be such a rain cloud, in asking you guys for a favor...I feel that it would bring great comfort to my family if you could all pray or send positive energy to my Dad. His mom and my Granny passed away this morning & he is pretty upset. For the first time he doesnt want to travel back to his hometown, Edinburough, Scotland (Remember when Jane's played there? :)). Thank you everyone. Have a great day. I feel rather sad, but happy to know she is in a better place & all around us.

Aerogem, sweet girl, I just visited your website. What love you have for your dad!! Of course, I will keep both of you in my prayers. It's hard to revisit the place of your youth, even harder when it is under such sad circumstances. He is very lucky to have such a caring daughter.

Family!!! How the heck are ya? I had a very uneventful New Year's Eve, but that is always of my own choosing. Last night I commemorated 13 years away from speed, crank, meth, whatever you want to call it, it was the drug that ruined my relationships, cost me my self-respect, and almost took my life, and my son away from me. My true addiction, even to this day, I can find myself tempted...

So, last night, I was a bit grumpy, because, the anniversary of my leaving that drug behind always brings with it the memories of what could have been, if I had never started. I had a nice dinner with my 'someone', but we aren't at the stage yet where I feel comfortable sharing EVERYTHING, and he knew something was going on. Hopefully I didn't scare him away with my incessant moodiness. He spent the day with me and my son, and met the rest of my family. We'll see....

Love to all of you, hey, if you hear a slurring drunk on the radio tonight on CFR, that would be me.....forgive me Dave, you know I love you guys!!!!

jezebel(ABBY!!!!, I missed you!!)

Camp Freddy Radio was great! Interesting editing I must say, added an extra something to the show. wait a minute, hold up...

in the segment that I was on did I hear a "can you girls count?" from Mr. Navarro or am I losing my mind and hearing things?
If so, homegirl don't play that. Maybe some of us 67 ladies should have a little fun on the phones with the naughty Mr. Navarro ourselves on the next live-not-pre-recorded-so-they-can't-edit-it CFR? ;) Misty, I'm sure you'd be up for some payback. iv always been curious but never had anyone to ask... when you present an award at an award show, be it Mtv music award or anything else, do the celebrities get paid to hand out the award? or is it more publicity for the celebrity?

just curious, iv always wondered about it.

Tia Carrere, grrrrrooowwwwwllll, is 38 today! Tia, I love you, but these constant midnight calls to my house have got to quit. It's just not working out, and I feel as if we need some "space" right now. It's not you, it's me.

Christy Turlington is 36 today! Christy, oh well, pretty much ditto for you (see above). Again, it's not you, it's me.

Cuba Gooding Jr. is 37 today! Proficient in Japanese martial arts, Cuba got married earlier this year to his high school sweetheart!

To all of these great folks, I say Keep up the great work!

Let's see, have I left anyone out? hmmmm.....oh yea! The biggest celebrity of them all, Ms. Nightbird! I hope you have an excellent day, and I wish you a 100 more birthdays! One of the highlights of '04 for me was striking up a conversation with you. You're a very nice, sweet, and beautiful person, and I'm better for having met you (so to speak). Have a great day!

Good morning, er, is it afternoon? I honestly don't know since I was up drinking until 6am. Yep, I'm officially 31... it happened at 10:18am this morning. Damn, Cuba's married? Phooey.

I love you people so damn much!!!!!! (that's SIX explanation points)

Off to Bedford to open presents.

Hi Dave & co.

DAVE - I hope you have a safe trip home.

AEROGEM - I'm so sorry to hear about your family's loss. Hold on tight to each other and stay strong.

JEZEBEL and others - I love the whole looking back/looking forward thing. It's always good to take an inventory of where you're at in life, what you've done, and what you want to do. I don't know if I'm ambitious enough for TEN significant accomplishments for 2005... LOL. I'm lucky if I can successfully pull off 2 or 3!

In any case, if anyone cares, here are some of Denise's high points of 2004, a relatively fantastic year, in no particular order. (I'm sure you guys are just DYING to know. LOL):

1) Making it through classes such as Accounting, Finance, and Business Law.

2) Getting my MBA, with a high GPA to boot. (aka: Managing to trick the powers-that-be into believing that this here artsy-fartsy writer chick knows enough about business to be considered an "expert". This is possibly the funniest part of the year.)

3) FINALLY losing and keeping off those "last 5 pounds." Yeay!!

4) Maintaining great relationships with my s/o, family, and true friends.

5) Getting (mercifully) laid off from a crappy "Office Space"-style job, and taking time off to regroup.

6) Landing what seems to be a better (more $$, more liberties, more power) "Office Space"-style job.

7) FINALLY starting to actually write down some of the crazy thoughts that pop into my head, in hopes of them crystallizing into something someday... so that maybe, eventually, I might not have to work in an office.

8) Meeting my idol, the talented and beautiful DAVE NAVARRO face-to-face, and telling him how much he's meant to me over the years.

9) Finding this place and being able to cyber-communicate with Dave and a bunch of other amazing people.

And the goals for 2005:

1) Kick butt at this new job, and see where the road takes me.

2) Stay in shape. Keep moving, exercising, dancing, stretching, growing as a person.

3) Be the best wife, lover, friend, daughter, sister, and person that I can possibly be.

4) Continue to try to fulfill all of my dreams -- even if I'm scared to death, and even if I fail miserably.

5) Keep writing down my thoughts/ideas, as crazy and disjointed as they may be.

6) Finish fixing up our house.

7) Have an awesome, rocking, killer summer in our fixed-up house.

Finally, after all that,

8) Maybe, just maybe, buckle down and try to start a family.

WHEW! That was cathartic. ;)

Happy New Year to all, and may all of your collective goals and dreams come true!!

Love,
-Denise
