Heavy!
Hey now. What a day that was. I understand that people are passionate about their feelings and all, but let's just come back down to earth for a second. As for Sonny, he is just keeping the Jane's alive over there. I am good with that. Meanwhile, Carmen and I are having a lot of fun. Looking forward to a new year...
Peace to all,
Dave

hey dave,
glad to hear your vacation is going great. I was wondering if you could do possibly all the people affected by the tsunami disaster in asia and africa. When you get back could you possibly let people know on camp freddy radio about the actual events and encourage them to support the charities that help with the effort. Thanks
happy new year carmen and dave
much love

I like Dave's attitude about the silly cyber-bullshit that's being flung around here...hopefully we can all assume the same nonchalant attitude and just be cheerful for the few minutes of playful diversion that this site is intended to be...
Speaking of which - does anyone ever check out fark.com? Very entertaining stuff...

In response to the Carmen/Debra Messing comparison in the last thread: I totally agree that they resemble eachother. Their facial structure is very similar, even though Carmen's face is much more refined. They both have a flat forehead with high protruding cheekbones. Their eyes are big, expressive and slightly hooded, and the bridges of their noses start low between the eyes. Debra has always been my #2 Carmen lookalike. #1 is Daniela Pestova.
Posted by: Heidi at December 29, 2004 05:02 PM
ok, for those of you keeping score, that is 3 for, and 2 against the resemblance question....Heidi, however, you get extra points for the detail!!!!

Hi Everybody - we banned a couple people today... turns out that "Truth Speaker" and "Sonny" were the same person, and niether was the "real" Sonny. Somebody else entirely posted Sonny's address. We see all your IP addresses, so why not just be yourselves. Asshole or not, we don't mind (Molly), but posting people's home addresses is banning material. Carry on.
EB
Posted by: 6767 Admin at December 29, 2004 06:26 PM
WOW thank you EB!! That is so cool of you to ban the issues that frusteraite us all!
Maria I look forward to spending my birthday with you! I hope more ppl can come out too. So have you seen Abby on lately? It's been a while. How's the new job going? Found a car yet?
Misty
Posted by: Rain at December 29, 2004 06:39 PM
i dont think that EB banned those users because they frustrated us. he (i'm assuming your a guy, apologies if thats wrong) banned them, like he said, because they posted peoples home addresses and that was against the community rules. (it's probably against the law infact to post or advertise someones address without their consent, i should imagine.)
opinions, whilst they might be frustrating to the majority, should be respected none the less. users should never be banned or blocked or censored just for their thoughts. i think mr. navarro will agree with me in saying that people like sonny (the real one) and others who dont share the majority of your views are still welcome here at 6767. these people are entitled to their views and thoughts.
lets not get ourselves bogged down in the whole "sonny's not a true JA fan and is stealing money from dave" issue. if their is wrong doing and mr. navarro (or any other JA member) wants to take action against him then they will do so. but i think mr. navarro has already stated on more than one occasion that he doesnt mind sonny and that he's just keeping the JA ride alive.
lets embrace the new music from TPC and CF and the genuine warmth in the 6767 community. so no more negative snipping, its just gone xmas and about to change to a new year. lets all hold hands and pray...... hahahaha..... no honestly dont do that, unless you want to.
but seriously, lets forget about the whole debacle and focus on happy things like TPC new album.
much love to all of you

Good God, I am SO glad to have missed that drama from yesterday. Dave, I think you said it best: "Heavy"....and i'm out about THAT.
But, let me say hi to all of you, I've been not around at all lately. Knee surgery, pain medication, Christmas, 3 year old. I think that about covers my excuses.
Thanks to the person who posted the list of charities for the tsunami victims and their families. I was kind of stuck as to what to do about donating.
Okay guys, let's make this post something interesting...best memory of 2004?

My dearest Jezebelita.... I still don't see it. I can't see the resemblance. And I've never been one to jump on a bandwagon just because everyone else was telling me to. But honestly, who cares? I was just being silly by commenting on it, and I think you know that about my personality by now. I've been in an emotional slump about the tsunami for the last few days, so I decided to debate the ever-pressing issue of who resembles Carmen, just for levity. Honestly, I could care less who Carmen looks like or vice versa. (Hey, who's got PMS? Cranky love to you all.)
However, loslonelyboy, don't be calling any one of my 67 girls stupid, or we WILL have to rumble. And thanks for the lovely apology. :-)

Mike C in FLA...awwwwww! That would be my vote for 2002. But I hafta tell you, I've thought about it after reading your post, and I need to restate: favorite memory of 2004... asking my then 2 year old if she was sure she wanted cheerios for supper and hearing her respond "I'm Positive". What 2 year old knows 'positive'? and am I the only one that thinks she's a genious? :) Kids rule :)

SORRY about the listing being wrong for Dave & Carmen's appearance on 'The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch' on CNBC.
The listing was posted at (((Music Station)) RockOnTV, which is usually always correct with their listings!
Since it's 'winter break week' perhaps NBC wanted even MORE publicity/ratings for 'The Donald'!? How many times can they repeat that stuff! UGH!
I'm sure the D&C interview will be on again! Keep your eyes peeled~!

Yikes! What happened to the good music vibes here? Maybe, Dave, if guys posted just a bit more music-related content, things will revert back to normal... Just a thought.
Posted by: Mike at December 29, 2004 10:52 PM
Here's some kind of music-related content...
So, my mom asks me what I want for Xmas, but it cannot be ANYTHING I'd buy for myself, something frivolous (Since when you're a parent, even video games take on a 'I can do this with the kids' aspect). So I thought about it and said I'd like an acoustic guitar. I have a Black electric telecaster I've had since '92, but between kids and neighbors, I don't get the opportunity to plug in much, and playing an electric without it is kinda...plinka plink plinka plink...
So, forgot about it until XMas and my mom (who was visiting) said what kind of acoustic do you want? An hour later, I'm the happy happy owner of a blood red telecoustic, Fender's acoustic version of the telecaster. First time I've played in about a year, and (while I suck ass at playing) it's a lot of fun and my fingers HURT.
...and proving that everything revolves around kids, yesterday involved a trip to TrU to get the four kids a kiddie guitar, a harmonica an ocarina and a bongo/maraca set since they want to 'play with daddy'
comedy.
Best memory of 2004? hmmm. 2004 was kind of a rough year. there were good points, but overall a pretty 'dark' year. hoping that the yin and yang balance will be restored with 2005.
Posted by: Rantz at December 30, 2004 01:14 AM
Rantz sorry to hear about your year I've had a fairly interesting one too. I think we've all had our moments but we should all take a hint from Monty Python and "allways look on the bright side of life" I had to move to a new place but if I hadn't I wouldn't have had the chance to see TPC play at the dragonfly or get my book signed or met my new friends down here Abby and Maria and Sarah =) I'm trying to adjust and fit in but I miss all my old friends up north. I want Candy! Willie and the Hand Jive! I'm a Man! Not Fade Away! Yep, a Big ass Happy Birfday to Mr. Bo Diddley-76 today! Perhaps THE most influential guitarist of the 50s, Bo showed that innovation and mold breaking was his trademark. Jagger has credited Bo with having the biggest influence on the Stones and rightfully so. Never achieving "chart" success, Bo's style and trademark square guitars, heavy tremolo, and general guitar tweaking tricks paved the way for Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Page, etc. "Never Judge a book by it's Cover" is not only a great song-also a good personal vibe to carry around. Keep up the great work, Mr. Diddley! http://www.guitarsite.com/BoDiddley.htm
Many consider Patti Smith to be the Queen of Punk. She's 58 today! Happy Birthday Patti!

In the most freakish coin-kidink in music, both Davy Jones-59 (http://www.davyjones.net/) and Michael Nesmith-62 (http://www.monkees.net/nez/default.asp) have birthdays today? Not quite sure how that worked out, but hey, I'm a Daydream Believer, and a Homecoming Queen!
Tracey Ullman-45 today, perhaps our most talented actress and funny girl. God Bless her. Set to star on Broadway next year with Carol Burnett. Now, GO HOME!

I do not have any New Year's Resolutions this year because I always fail to do them. I will just try to be a better person this year.
¿Has anyone ever gone to Times Square for New Years Eve?
I haven't and I never plan on doing so. It's too cold and you have to get there early to get a "good" spot. Besides, I do not like to urinate in public too often.

Dave!
I leave for a week on vaca., and when I come back there's ALL SORTS of whacked out stuff on here. What's the dilly-o? Would you consider making this a password-protected site? I'm not sure if typepad supports it, but if you required people to have a username/password (that could be revoked) in order to post, that would keep a lot of the stuff that just takes up space off of here.
I'm a firm believer in freedom of speech too. I just yelled at some right-wing nutjob that called my house last night from the DOVE Foundation asking for money (to fund censorship). It's not that I don't think these people posting on here should be able to speak their mind. But it's like any other public service/place; there are certain guidelines that make it enjoyable and free to all. There's a time and place to express yourself. Some people just don't have the courtesy and respect to keep it enjoyable.
If you pee in the pool, the swimmers will want you to be removed. :-)

OK...I'm not the same chrissy that posted the donkey thing. But I'm breaking out of my shell and ending this year proper like. So first off to the end of this fab year, Kisses to all 67'ers. I've been checking in since late june maybe early july and enjoy reading everyone's feedback. Especially Dave's positive and compassionate vibe!!! And Lyn...I notice that you're the funny guy and probably a nice one too...I've found your posts actually put a smile on my face and give me a good giggle from time to time, Thanx I'm sure it's good for the health!!! I've been to Xiola's in the past and after all that maddness he got the other day, I had to check it out again. It may all be pirated and he may be making some change, but, Dave...it looks like he's got some awesome bootleg's that I sure wouldn't mind having. I miss the old days and love the feelings Jane's comforts and the feelings that arise when I listen now...Jane's is the best live show I've been able to be subjected to. I can't believe he has the show from "One Step Beyond, Santa Clara, CA" Those were my stomping grounds as a kid and I remember wanting to go to that show and my girlz we're being lame. The point is he's providing something cherishable and rare...If he's bitter that's his own to deal with and we shouldn't let it affect our peace.
It was my birthday too, recently...12/24 thanks for the global b-day wish and the props to Mamas...I'm one too. I've always felt shy cause there's sooo much love here and it seems like a lot of people know each other. I felt I was hiding like a peeper. So I'm not gonna just peep any more but will post too. Nothing like making new friends!!!
Everyone have an awesome 2004 finale and Kick off 2005 even better!!! New years resolutions don't exist for me So I think I'll just stay focused as ussual.
Dave~
Your book was the first book I've read in years. I was totally intrigued and could totally relate on different levels. Those dark days have been over for me for years I'm just hoping and believing in the day to come where life is all rainbows and less struggle. Your union with Carmen is an inspiration and am greatful to know that it really happens in real life (it's not just hollywood glam, right?)
Wow, I think I just got way to personal but what the hell...we are all being honest here!!!
Cheers and Happy New Years!!!!

Hey everyone (once again)! WOW!! I just like read all the post and the insanity of most of it was a bit overwhelming. My a.m. was crazy!! My 4 year old got bit by a dog in the face(she will be fine) I rushed her to the hospital. She is a bright sprited young child. She won't even scar. The dog however, is in the hands of the animal control people. A very paniced morning but things are chilled now.I suppose I would have to say that today was the most "Shocking" of 2004 for me. Mike! I was in NYC the week before New Years in 2002, in the middle of Times Square, watching them seal manhole covers, building stages for the ball drop and Avril Lavigne, it was NUTS!!! We almost didn't make it out of there ALIVE!!!
Chrissy...welcome to you, and Lyn is funny, isn't he, and nice too...
Rantz!! Congrats, dude, Hey family, we should start our own band, Mortisha plays bass, Brett plays guitar, I am the worst left handed guitar player known to man, yet I compensate for that by singing some really awful notes!!
hmmm, did I forget anyone?
DAVE!!!! Step away from the computer...just for a day...

Chrissy-What an awful nice thing to say, you made MY day! What a lot of people don't realize is, Dave is a funny mofo in his own right. "Are you now, or have you ever been, a homosexual?" I still laugh at that one, out loud, at work (people there think I'm insane). "Hey Billy? What? I've got an idea? What? Let's go the phones!" If I can make just one person smile a day, I feel my work here will not have been in vain. You know, it all started out in a sleepy lil 'ole Georgia town....

welcome Chrissy 2! And happy belated birthday!
I agree with you totally, Lyn is a GEM! :) One of the nicest guys I've ever met!
I'm also with you on Jane's. I was, and still am, a big fan and have all their records (not ripped from the net but bought).
I'm also totally for change and something new and living in the present and letting the past be just that- the past. We'll always have available to us what they have previously created and can listen any time. If someone's going to be a follower of a band then they might as well follow them wherever they may go. If they've liked what the band has already done, there's a good chance they'll like the new stuff, too. They can't really get anywhere focusing on what has already been said and done all the time.
"So have you seen Abby on lately? It's been a while. How's the new job going? Found a car yet?"- Misty
Abby's probably around, busy working. Hello Abby if you're reading! :)
The job is a lot better than my old one, I'll tell you that! I feel more at home. I don't know if anyone on here has worked with lawyers, but they are an interesting bunch!
And yes I got a car, a spiffy little Toyota corolla. Haven't driven it much yet though since my parents are using it while they're here.
to Hey Admin- if you click the box next to "save personal info?" that will save your name and email address and URL.
Typepad does not have an option for us to register names and password. The only thing that's available is to password protect the whole site or parts of it. If Dave only wanted certain people to be able to read and post on his blog he can password protect it and send the password to all those he wants to allow access. Or he could just password protect the downloads section or any other specific one he wants. He probably likes it open access like this though.

Hello Dave, Carmen and family!
Hope you all have a safe and happy new years eve.
I also hope that all this lame stuff is finished, because it makes me not want to visit here. :(

Dave, do you think you and CF can do a benefit concert for the victums?
That would be cool.
You picked a great time to get out of LA
take care all,

Beautiful People,
Rantz congrats on the new guitar, seems like you going to have a blast with that Fender. Morisha8 I didn't even know you played bass, right on! Jezebel, all I can say is just keep practicing! Speaking of which, my neighbor across the street plays a mean guitar. He's an older guy, has been playing for years and he is a blast to jam with. I never knew it until recently. He's got a Vintage Les Paul that has to be the best sounding thing that I have been graced to play on in awhile. So we rocked out a few nights ago. He has a vintage Echoplex that I hooked a wah pedal up to it and it was F!@*! Awesome. Analog all the way people. The thing blew my guitar processor out of the water and its like older than I am! He also has a little studio thing going with a lot of very cool gear. So I asked him about recording and he was so cool, so in some way/capacity I hope to contribute to the online jam. I just got QuickTime yesterday. BTW: FreaK excellent job on the video!
New Years Resolutions- Well I am inspired by Scott P who is going all out. Best wishes on that, NYC is a very cool city, you will fit in easily! So here is mine
1 I swear to God I am “QUITING smoking cigarettes! Phillip Morris you get a big FUCK YOU next year “our relationship is over! I want my health back!
2 Play more guitar and surf more. I have been slack in that department lately, it’s not cool seeing you stuff collect dust. I am also going to join the Surf Rider Foundation. I have surfed for years and I am embarrassed that I haven’t joined yet.
3. Get a better job that pays more $$$$$$$$$$!!!! I want to walk into Guitar Center and buy whatever the hell I want! I’m over this whole go in there, take down the PRS cu 24 ten top, rock out and have top put in back on the rack Bullshit!......... I’m over it!
4. Be more accepting of things in my life that I can not control
Have a safe and happy New Year's!
Brett

Kudos to Jackie Chan! I was trying to this of some sort of wacky fundraiser here amongst the Indian community like drunk and president, but it's -20 outside thats not going to go over well.
My new years resolution! Be a better CF fan in Canada..and talk more to dave and family.
And when i think of Ireland, I think Sgathach, the irish Warrior queen, and U2..lol
I'm hoping to go to Ireland this summer and have a backpacking trip. It seems to such a beautiful place with amazing culture
Hope to see you all more in the new year,
Mala

Dave feel free to swim while you're on vacation(Not sure if she told you, but I think the Mrs. used to be a lifeguard).

Schwing: ya, dude, but that was on Baywatch, so she can only rescue him in slow motion.

Dave-Your book was the best gift I received this year. It was an incredible look at what a gift life is, and all that can be done with it. Your talent is amazing and your journey though life inspiring. Thank you. 6767 is a beautiful place.

Hey, I ended up watching the Apprentice last night and had no idea why, but now I remember that I was gonna watch Carmen and Dave. Lol. I think since it's repeat season, some of those news/talk shows that were originally scheduled were pulled because of what's happened in Asia. They just seem too out of date, or else they make the hosts look ignorant and shallow for not mentioning the disaster.

"Morisha8 I didn't even know you played bass, right on!"-Brett
I sure do.. not very well at the moment but I'm getting there!! I haven't had much time to practice and started playing recently. I used to play the violin, too. I kind of miss it. I was mostly a singer though, I was all about chorus and musicals in school. I was fortunate enough to go to schools with great music programs, not everyone has that priviledge.
great new year resolutions btw... i plan on doing the surfing thing too!
catch you guys later gotta get back to work
