Goin' On Holiday

Davenavarro321

1. What's your live rig consist of these days? Still using all the individual Boss pedals?

Yeah, still on the Boss kick for the live set up, but in the studio, anything goes. Of course, I still use the Jimi Hendrix Cry Baby.

2. If you want I will put my version of the tab of Bloody Mary up on mxtabs.net, it should be all correct, but if you want to keep the tab secret I wont put it up.

Be my guest, let me know when it's up, I'd be curious to see it. I can't verify it, however, as I cannot read tabs.

3. I am blown away by this song, . . . are you a 30 seconds to mars fan Dave?

Sure. Jared and Shannon are friends of mine. We actually spoke recently about doing a show or two together next year.

4. Is it too late to sign up for the street team? And what is the e-mail to do so again?

Never too late. We haven't even started with all of that yet. Just sign up at The Panic Channel.

5. Will the full length vid of the show be available to purchase one day, perhaps after the CD release?

I don't know about that, but there will be plenty of live visuals included within the album.

6. Dave will TPC album have any guest musicians on it?

For the most part, no. Although keyboardist and friend Matt Rhode has added some spice here and there on a couple of tracks so far.

7. What ever happened to that Ibanez you had with the Nothing Shocking twins on?

Still have it. Always will.

8. Is it true that you used Ibanez guitars? If so, why the switch? Thanks!

During what can only be called a "stupor" I broke several Ibanez guitars while on tour in 1991. My buddy, who played guitar with the Rollins Band, loaned me one of his PRSs to do a show. I found myself thinking, "These are quite good." The rest, as they say, is history. Nothing against Ibanez, it just worked out that way.

9. Dave do you have to carry Carmen's lipstick in your pocket when you go out?

Not often, but it has been known to happen. I'd say like 3 or 4 times out of four years.

10. Dave - no offense, but are you sure you're not confusing tabulature... With notation?

Well, probably not because I have never even tried tabs. I can get through notation if I have to, but I never really looked at tabs.

I hope you all had a great holiday. We sure did. My wife and I are going out of town this week and there is a computer at the hotel we are staying at. I'll try to stay in touch. As for Daisy, she is well taken care of by our assistant. We would never leave her alone.

Hey Dave! Glad to hear you had a nice Christmas. I know everyone's probably asking this today, but, what gifts did you recieve yesterday? Have fun on your vacation with Carmen!

Peace,
- Sean

P.S. Okay, just so everyone here now knows the difference: There's a new 6767 that just posted in the previous thread whose name is also Sean. That's NOT the one that's been posting here for a while.

THIS is the original Sean (the one from NYC, was at the book signing, the CF Irving Plaza show, made the Captain Dave/CHiPS doll image, etc) who posted much earlier in this thread (the 19th comment), and in many many other threads from the previous days/weeks/months. I used to go by Sean-IX in early October, but later just dropped the -IX and left it as Sean.

Hopefully that'll clear any confusion that may have occurred. There seems to be a lot of us with the same name here this week. :)

Sean from Tennessee, would you be so kind as to change your handle? That would also really help clear up any future confusion between the two of us. Thanks.

Have a lovely time, you two!

As for the 6767 NYC meetup... I have a few addresses of those who have said they would like to attend and I'm going to send an email shortly: Deena, Denise, itanja, Sean, Sue, Adina, Mike from NYC... am I leaving anyone out? Email me and let me know :)

I'm totally open to suggestion about what/when/where we will be doing it, but as Deena suggested, we'd probably be keeping it indoors. It's been frosty!

Posted by: Theresa at December 26, 2004 11:52 AM

Hey!! I want to go to the East Coast meetup!!!

oh, bother....maybe next year, today is day of movie watching with my 'someone'...We both have been driving since Friday it seems, so it will be nice to have a day when neither of us have to go anywhere..

Dave!! Make sure you and Carmen swim with some dolphins, drink out of coconut shells, and listen to some Don Ho 'tiny bubbles'....or, not...

All hope you had a great holiday. I got a gift in disguise as I was supposed to go to Phuket, Thailand for X-mas but the person that helps run the scuba shop here got sick so I couldn't.

Anyway any people in SE Asia my heart goes out to you all.

Have a great time in Hawaii! Glad your Christmas rocked. I'm in the midst of reading your book. I'm sure that I'm not alone in sharing your warped sense of humor. I'm trying desperately not to skip a head to the "mushy stuff" about you and Carmen. I'm just so happy to know that you're very much alive and well, with a beautiful woman by your side...and your little Diasy! Take care and enjoy your vacation :) - Karina

Dave how old were you when you started guitar (i know it's probably in your book or something, but i'll be buying that with my christmas money, that and Anthony Keidis's book) 'cause i'm 15 and i'm trying my best but i'm having some trouble expecially with chords and the harder mellodies. Well have a great vacation.

With notation?

Tab is pretty easy, justs lists the fret numbers on the relevant strings. I can't read notation yet, but tab I can usually zoom through :)

Have a great time.

Hi Dave,

You made 'The New York Times' today...in the 'Sunday Styles' section....where else! LOL Unfortunately the article wasn't about you OR your fashion sense....they reported a 'Dave sighting' (my words, not the writers) at an LA party for some dude named Brent Bolthouse.

Who is he? And why was he featured in the Times?? The article did say it was his birthday party, but offered little about him, other than being a party planner. Is he also a musician?

Have a WONDERFUL & PRIVATE honeymoon....you guys have BOTH been working pretty hard this past year, you deserve to be quite & alone together! lol

Btw..I had an intense argument with a really flakely, superfical person last night about YOUR popularity versus Britney Spears' (of all people!!) ....needless to say this person was clearly clueless as to your standing as a musician & Guitar God!

He really couldn't comprehend good vs. very bad music! Even if he were hit over the head with the entire collection of some of the greatest rock albums of all time.....he'd still be clueless~!

Anyone who uses your name & Spears in the same sentence cannot be taken seriously! LOL Plus he's pushing 40, so he's been exposed to music for many years,

I am baffled when people who should know better are lured by all the hype, smoke & mirrors! He seemingly buys into whatever HYPE is pushed on him by the media.

I tried to explain to him that any person getting media hype (musician, actor, author, artist) who subsequently gets very weathy from the constant over-exposure....is certainly NOT a barometer of how much talent a person has.

Forget about arguing about 'art' & creativity, in general, with a person who acts so narrow minded! Basically, it's useless arguing with such a culturally ignorant person.

love,
itanja

HI all,

Hope everyone had as good a christmas as I did. Just came over to send out some love to the Channel and the Fam.

We had a little snow on Christmas day, my cousin made an 8 inch snowman (which for "some" reason I found extremely funny after a few beverages).

It's cold here and bright, like the best of british winter's days.

Thanks for the video guys, I heard a little of it hanging on the line after I spoke you Dave on CFR, but it most certainly rocks, and doesn't leave us distant cousins (!) without anything to chew over.

Spreading the love,

To Lyn: yeah Gérard Depardieu is french (didn't know there were american websites about him!). He's a good actor, but I think he doesn't have a good role since Cyrano de Bergerac in 1990!

Now I think I'll register on MXtabs to get that Bloody Mary tablature :)

Hey all 67’ers & Dave!
Late Merry Christmas and early Happy New Year! I’ve been MIA lately, busy with work/family/Christmas etc. but have been reading. Thanks for the present, Dave, Steve, Stephen, Chris!

Kristen & I would be up for a NYC meetup, hopefully we can work it out…I am on vaca from this Weds thru the new year, will email you guys.

Just want to say thanks to all for such a great site, vibe and entertainment. I love it here. And the CF NY Irving Plaza group photo is in a gift I gave Kristen, made her a photo album with all the NY pix I could get my hands on, the photos we took (thanks also to Theresa!) the DKNY pic, the setlist we got, the autographs etc. If anyone wants to contribute (there are plenty more pages in the album, email me!) Gotta preserve the memories. I did the same thing last summer for her 16th birthday with the Starland Ballroom Velvet Revolver show, got Matt’s drumstick and met Slash & Duff and got their autographs, so I put that all together in a poster size framed black canvas. Good times…

By the way, I have the Sean/Sean problem, for those confused (I’ve been asked) I am not Caffeinated Sue, I also saw Decaffeinated Sue (Same?) so I will change to what my family calls me, Susie. Good enough, I guess.

Love to all!

Hey all!

Such a horrible thing the earthquake and tzunamis in Asia! Over 23 000 people killed! I'm really upset about it and I pray for all who are involved and their loved ones. Nature disasters can really send the world into a turmoil, no doubt.

Posted by: Pekka at December 27, 2004 10:55 AM

I agree Pekka, how horrific. I pray for those people affected, the video footage brought tears to my eyes, watching those helpless getting swept away by the ocean. We plan to donate the little we have left from Christmas to help.

Those tsunamis really make you realize that we are just ants. Nature can take us out at anytime. hurricanes, tzunamis, earthquakes, and a big asteroid to finish the job.

Dave "bloody marry" is a great song and I cant wait for the album.

Posted by: psf at December 27, 2004 11:29 AM

about the situation in Asia, i think the most freaky thing about it is that all those people are killed by ONE WAVE...just one, that's all it takes
we are nothing, we're living on this planet and what ever happens with the planet can end our lifes just like that. we're talking about how we can make our lives perfect, eat the right food, drink the right drinks, wear the right clothes, meet the right people and all those things we're working on. but it's still nature we're dealing with here, and nature has the last word. always
our life is all we have, we can't turn ourselves into a tree or another person, so ofcause we make the best of it..but we shouldn't be surprised that nature can end the lifes of so many people with a wave..because nature is everywhere and it's strong
just a thought on a quiet mondayevening

Plagues of locusts; 8.9 earthquakes that cause deadly tsunamis; Bush is President again.... People, we should brace for Armageddon. (why do I have to point out that I'm kidding?)

Seriously, what a horrible event that took place in Asia. But if we spend our lives worrying that something like that may happen to us, or that terrorists may attack the nuclear (Bush: "nucular") power plant that is less than 10 miles from our house, we'd never get any sleep. And I enjoy sleep. So I worry not.

Posted by: NightBird at December 27, 2004 01:39 PM

and sleep is healthy. it helps you remember later the things you did that day and your body can heal damage. your thoughts can clear, your nerves can rest, and dreams ofcause (not daydreams, but real ones)...no sleep, no dreams!!
and i'm off to bed now. sweet dreams fam!

Armageddon can kiss my ass, life's great

Posted by: Emma at December 27, 2004 01:55 PM

Panic Agent stuff hasn't really started yet, am I right, Julien? Everyone should just sign up on panic channel mailing list.

Emma, I am off until Monday, I am sure your card will be waiting for cherubs...

Only God knows the number of our days, which is why we should be concentrating on building our treasures in heaven, instead of wasting time chasing after material satisfaction on earth....That being said, I think I will take a nap,

Hello, seems like everybody had a great/enjoyable Holiday. I am sure everybody is looking forward to a new/better year! I do have a question for all those tech savvy people out there. I can not download "Bloody Mary" because it's on QuickTime, b/c my job/work won't allow for that kind of down load. so you've probably been asked this a million times and I feel like I've been living under a rock for not knowing...but what's the story of how you and carmen met?

Posted by: samantha at December 27, 2004 10:46 PM

Dave~

Minor Dieties willing you should *not* be reading this whilst still on vaca... Hope upon retruning when you read this that you two had an amazing and relaxing time.

BloodyMary Vid: Awesome job guys. Great editing and shots. I know how hard it is to get that stuff to 'clock' between live vid and studio audio and it was just NAILED. Props to the film@11 guys.

CFR: Y'know my hackles instantly go up whenever I hear a sentence prefaced "I'm not prude, but..." or "I'm not against___, but..." Invariably, it tells the tale. Personally, I think the world being a yin and yang entity, that depravity and silly decadance balances out the dark and dour. And god knows, there's some dark and dour shit these days. I have four daughters, and they listen to nothing their mother and I don't know of, Watch no TV without our nod, play no videogames not vetted. "the children, we must not let children be exposed" is lazy fucking logic to my mind. There are days I want to hear strippers masturbating on live radio, there are days I want to hear supermodel Janice calling in and letting the f-word roar out at she brags she can take a bowling ball. Days I don't feel like hearing that, I'm my own program director. CDs and other stations are readily available. It's a personal annoyance to me whenever anyone starts postulating that they know what is better or best, and the way things should be run. But, that's just me. Still feeling the fallout of a religious holiday.

On a brighter note, I have a week off. Hope everyone had a great holiday. Me, I'm gonna go blow some shit up in Half Life 2 and then work on some "project P" art.

Posted by: Rantz at December 27, 2004 10:46 PM

I hope I don't bother you with this question, feel free to skip it if that is the case. Any chance of having a Jane's show in Madrid? The thing is, during the last tour you played in Barcelona but then had some sort of problem and had to miss Madrid, and I had been looking forward to a show of yours since 1991, roughly! I would kill to see you live, if only that didn't involve hurting anyone or anything. Love, Denis.

If I were you and you were I, where would I be, when they found out who they truly were?

Straight up Rantz!

I wasn't going to get involved, except to say: I was thinking of summing up my thoughts in the phrase "innocence is its own protection".

A big Happy Birthday goes to Mr. Edgar Winter who's 58 today! Responsible for such 70s classics as Frankenstein, Tobacco Road, and Free Ride, Edgar still tours. And he had the best band name of all time: White Trash! Keep up the great work, Mr. Winter!

Hey Dave!!! Just a quick question! I went to see Blade Trinity last week, to my surprise I heared Venus In Furs~ (the scene was a vamp walking into a gothic store and biting the employees while your song was being played in the background)the movie was not that good.. do you have any plans to have your songs implemented in other movies??
By the way you rock no matter what idiotical sarcastic critics say!!
