Camp Freddy 1/27

So, I spoke to Billy and we decided to change the "free" show at the Key Club on Jan 27th, from free to $10.00 a head in order to provide some support to the people of South East Asia. The show is still first come first served with no guest list. I know we promised a free event, but in light of what has happened, it just feels like the right thing to do. Hope to see you there...

Dave

My support and love to all who are missing a loved one

Thanks for the warm welcome!!! Lyn I hope it wasn't too awfully nice. For a second I thought Dave took everyones advice of stepping away from the computer and enjoying vacation but I got a surprise. I just booked a flight yesterday to so cal for the 28th and see I'm gonna miss the enlightenment of 1/27.

At least you guys get to hear some ear candy and bennefit the unfortunate!!!

Jezebel...of course you still count as a Hot Mama!!! I bet you feel like one.

Looks like another interesting New Years in Frisco!!!

OMG you guys are so sweet to do this for South East Asia. What a horrific disaster that happened there. So awful. TPC is all heart.. Wish i could come to that show but I live here on the east coast.

Posted by: Jennifer at December 30, 2004 02:58 PM

Man, I'd pay anything (within reason!) to see the CF crew. Shame about the fact I live in the UK. Dave, take the hint!! You know you wanna grace us Brit fans with your presence!

Posted by: dude48 at December 30, 2004 03:05 PM

Hi!!!! I'm here =) Been working, actually have today off AND tomorrow!! YAY. $10.00 sounds good to me, all for a good cause and I'm happy to pay it.

Posted by: Shrew at December 30, 2004 03:10 PM

Well turns out i won't be buying your book, my mom kinda browsed through it...so yeah, i will just get the Anthony Keidis book, but i'll pick yours up in a year, hell i'll ask for it for my 16th birthday (not like i'm going to get a car anyway). Later

Posted by: Shrew at December 30, 2004 03:11 PM

DAVE - What a wonderful idea (the concert). And ten bucks a head is a BARGAIN to see YOU guys live! (Too bad I'm 3,000 miles away, or I'd be there w/ bells on.) Thanks for being so generous and keep on enjoying your vaca.

SIMARA R. - I love your post from the last thread and couldn't agree more with your philosophies. :)

Wishing everyone an early Happy New Year,

Good call, Dave. That's the least we can all do. So sad...

Posted by: Mike at December 30, 2004 04:23 PM

Dave, did you spend a lot of time in Hawaii w/Jane's Addiction? I recently met someone that worked in a restaurant there that said that you and your band were in there all the time. I know that you were in Hawaii with the Chili Peppers, but I don't know about Jane's. Basically, I just want to know if he's full of crap or not.

Posted by: Twisted Angel at December 30, 2004 04:37 PM

I wish I could go. What a great way of helping those poor people. Such a tragedy.. :(

Posted by: AeroGem at December 30, 2004 04:52 PM

YAY!!!! I am so happy you and Billy are doing that...I am doing the Carlton dance (It's not unusual to be loved by anyone)....

All of you PaniCats will be able to meet the 'someone', as he has promised to take me there, look for the guy with the tattoos, beard, and yellow truck...give him props for knowing me and STILL liking me...

Looking forward to a lovely weekend, he is on his way now, the boy is joining us Saturday...

A lot of my cherubs have relatives in Southeast Asia, I think I am going to do a coin drive when I get back, Parents, suggest the same thing to your kids' teachers, Unicef is a wonderful organization, they are already there, and will be there for the long haul, after immediate relief is gone...

I'll see you there. Does Carmen make it to the shows? I f I bring my book will you sign it?

David (wow, I'm such a Capricorn calling you by your full first name), I commend you on your choice to charge money for the show...

And Linda (keeping with the full real names theme), your suggestion for coin drives is fantastic. You're always thinking of ways to help others, and that's why I love you!

Posted by: NightBird at December 30, 2004 06:14 PM

Thanks Adina, and there are SO many reasons why I love you, too!!!!

1. you have my back
2. you like Stevie Nicks
3. We have a lot in common
4. You are a sensitive soul
5. you sent my cherubs a card
6. you are always ready to listen
7. you are funny
8. you have a beautiful spirit
9. you aren't afraid to disagree
10. Did I mention you have my back?

love,

what a great, generous idea. i'm very very impressed and wish i was able to contribute somehow. is there anyway for an east coast fan to send her donation?

and for those of you in the LA area...enjoy the show...have fun seeing dave et. al. and benefitting others!!

Posted by: blondimofo at December 30, 2004 07:32 PM

Dave... AWESOME idea to use the show as a fundraiser for the tsunami victims! If I were on the West Coast, I'd be there, but I'm in Chicago... and the mid-west SERIOUSLY needs a Panic Channel fix... (Hint, hint) You're on my very short list of artists/bands that I refuse to miss when they're doing a show nearby... (even bigger hint)...

And Bloody Mary kicks ass... thanks to you and the guys for making that video available...

One more little note... jezebel... Stevie Nicks is da bomb! I've been following her career since the Buckingham/Nicks days and it seems she only gets better as the years pass.

That said, I've got visions of a Dave/Stevie collaboration in my head now... :) Ah... euphoria!

Much love and respect to Dave and the Family...

Peace,
Tim/Panic Agent Nitewing

hey Dave have you heard the version of "Summertime Rolls" by Puracane? i heard it on Sirius radio today, its a female fronted electronica thing, its really cool. i DL'ed the song if anyone wants it

Posted by: gigantorbuzz at December 30, 2004 10:00 PM

Anyone initially planning on going that doesn't show because of a generous move by these band members doesn't deserve a damn thing.....

shrew, the anthony keidis book is fucking fantastic. i'm about 1/3 of the wary through it now. i can't put it down!!!!! i can't find dave's book anywhere here (australia) though. we're so behind the times :P plus i'm broke, so even if i did find it........

Hey Dave! Hey all!

I just wanted to stop by and wish you all a very very very (*in the Police Academy tone*) HAPPY NEW YEAR 2005!!!! I think the evolution of this site's ambience and warmth has been one the best things of 2004! Let's hope the next one will be even better.

Twisted Angel, if my memory serves me right, Jane's Addiction played their last (or one of the last) gig in Hawaii on Sep 26, 1991 and Perry and Stephen performed in the nude (I have this peculiar way of memorising dates and figures, ask no more). However, I can't remember whether it was Oahu, Maui or The Big Island where the venue took place. So, at least one gig, but I'd assume they've spent a lot of time there for that good surfing also.

Other: I believe I'm beginning to have a crush on Rory (Alexis Bledel) from the Gilmore Girls.

Take it easy tonight, everyone!

96 movies, a Knight, and the one of the most haunting images in all of film history. Sir Anthony Hopkins is 67 today! Little known facts-he improvised many parts of Hannibal, including imitating Fosters character's voice, and the slurping sound made when describing his "meal". He also has been known, on more than one occasion, to buy a car and drive across America. So, if you're in Des Moines Iowa gassing up at the local 7/11, don't get freaked out if you look across the pumps and see Hannibal checking his oil! Keep up the great work Sir Hopkins!

A big ole Happy Freakin Birfday to Mr. Val Kilmer-45 today! "Nick Rivers" was the youngest person ever chosen to attend the Julliard Drama department. He graduated from Chatsworth High School along with his friend Kevin Spacey. In a stunning performance, he WAS Jim Morrison in The Doors. Keep up the great work, Mr. Kilmer!

I don't know what time it is where you all are, but it is Friday morning. Here is wishing every one a safe, happy and healthy New Year!

When I look back on the year, I have had several personal tragedies but even more blessings. I count the family here as a blessing.

Bless all of you~

Wanted to stop by and wish everyone a fabulous new year! Just coming by here on a regular basis has helped me deal with my own drama just a little better! Finding this site was definitly one of the top three things that happened this year! The TOP, BEST, MOST AWESOME thing that happened this year was actually meeting Dave! #2 - Finding this site! #3 - meeting Tommy Lee!

Anyway, the day is off to a bad start, considering I am at work, and THE ONLY ONE WHO HAD TO BE IN TODAY!! I guess it doesn't pay to be the only person your boss trusts sometimes!!!

Wishing everyone here all the best in the next 365!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
Dave- great idea with the show, what a damn tragedy. Wish I could make it to the show on the 27th, if only I were on the West Coast. I'm over here in NY so I'll just have to wait (patiently) till you guys get over here.
Want to say what's up to the 6767 family and wish everyone well! Be safe and have a blast.

Happy New Year!

Can't speak for anyone else, but this holiday begs for Thanksgiving and a watershed moment for rebirth and renaissance all wrapped into one. By far, my favorite holiday. Midnight, when something significant ends and something significant begins. Spacial schizophenia all wrapped into one!!

Be well all,

Hey Melis-

I am in the same boat as you! The boss had us work until noon on Christmas Eve. Today, my co-workers are gone for the Christmas vacation, but I got stuck here to answer phones. Not doing anything else but that. But the good call was - I get to close at NOON! Yeah!

Dave,

Kudos to you and Billy!

My family has been touched by this event as our dear friend Christy is a school teacher in Sri Lanka. We have not been able to confirm her safety or whereabouts as of yet. She is a wonderful soul and we hope to hear word soon.

So from our hearts we thank all of you for your thoughts and wishes to those who have suffered as a result of this event. And to those who rise above the rest through action to help others.

Cheers,

AAAAAAhhhhhhhhhh, I just fell out of my chair! Tim, I can't believe I didn't think of that.... a Stevie Nicks/Dave Navarro collaboration!!!!! Dave, Dave, Dave.... have you ever had the opportunity to work with her, or even meet her? And would you work with her if you could? Git on the phone now and call whomever knows her! I command you. I said git...

Lyn just keeps making the point of how awesome Capricorns are with his birthday shout-outs. But Lyn, are you set to give the biggest shout-out of them all on Sunday, hmmmm? (I honestly don't know why I'm so hyped up about my 31st birthday. Maybe it's because I tried to ignore my 30th last year.)
