Hey to Dave and the fam.
I am in Cali for the next couple of days so I might check out the Banyan show and watch Perk tear it up. I just found a couple of pics of you and Morello from the Key Club other night.. very cool! 2 of my favorite guitarists by far... you should talk him into joining Camp Freddy sometime. That would be ridiculous. But anyway, I hope rehearsals and the writing process is going well with TPC. Have a good one ya'll.

Jezzi, thanks for asking. I'm fine, so I guess it was muscle strain after all. Thanks for all of you wonderful people for your concern! I feel cared!
Altogether, I've had a wonderful day. I guess good days are likely to follow shitty ones. Health comes first, of course, it's great to notice the pain wasn't anything I feared (I didn't really suspect my liver!). Second, the guy called from the garage this morning and told me my car was ready a week early! I picked it up and the bill was like half of what I had expected. I take it there's a first time for everything.
Third, my last school paper turned out to be great while I went through it today. And fourth, this photographer guy I'm vaguely acquainted with called and asked if I would do two commercial shoots on friday for some car ad. A nice opportunity to score some extra dough for the Christmas presents.
DAVE, my recent experience urges me to ask: Do you ever get these symptoms of some terrible illness where you're absolutely certain something horrible will happen to you and then it turns out to be nothing serious?
Peace all!

here in Mexico the posadas begin in december 16, a lot of tamales, piñatas, beer, candy. a lot of bad things for the diet. but what a hell¡¡¡ is only a few days of the year.

Dave!!! How are things going? Oh geez, I wish I knew your address because I was out shopping in Lancaster, Pa and there was a store I was in and I was looking through.... umm... underwear. and I picked up these black panties and in little crystal things it said DAVE. And I was like I would seriously get these for Carmen if I only knew their address and I told my mom and showed them to her, and told her I wanted to send them but I didnt get them. :-( They were like a Medium in other words 6... and I thought they'd fit or something, because shes tiny. So yeahhh, just wanted to tell you. haha Have a nice dayy!

Freak ~ just wanted to say that my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last spring & I've been on the roller coaster ride you just got on, so if you need anything, just let me know. Also, I would always go to this website www.breastcancer.org, it was a blessing! There's a message board there & the people are always willing to help, even with the slightest or seemingly craziest questions. I hope your mom is doing well.
I'm surprised noone mentioned Scott Peterson. The jury sentenced him to death yesterday. I saw some of the coverage on Court tv & I was struck at what amazing people they seem to be. Sensible, caring, heartfelt people...it's eerie to think about a time when the justice system, dare I say it, WORKED!!!! I go back & forth on how I feel about the death penalty, but seeing as it would be at LEAST 25 years before they THOUGHT about executing him, I'm glad the jury sent that message.
A weird side note, they always talk about how executions are torturous & there's no humane way to kill someone, & I'm always like, why not carbon monoxide?!?! People die of that in their sleep! God knows there's enough car exhaust in LA, maybe they could just pipe it in!!!!
(I just re-read this, seriously people, I'm not high) lol

Blanca and Diana, thank you, I thought as much, the children's book that I have shows people dressed in Devil costumes (complete with 'metal' horns) telling Jose and Maria to go away...This is what I am talking about, very hard to teach my children about other cultures, when the people writing about Las Posadas are Italian-Irish!!!
as far as that Jane's Addiction comment...my son would say "that was random"

ok, so now I have read billboard article, my head is spinning with desire for info....like this
DAVE!! so, if you have a deal signed with Capitol as a solo artist, are you also under a deadline, like do you have to release another solo album this year, next year, before the end of the decade?
Also, did Jane's fulfill their contractual obligations to Capitol as well? How would you have been allowed to break up, if you still had a record deal to fulfill...?
one more, is Mr. Virtue an independent producer, or is he contractually bound to Capitol as well?
on second thought, these questions seem a bit too....nosy....

I can't wait to hear TPC. Honestly, RUSH is by far one of my favourite bands of all time.
My mom used to hang with Peart, and I got to meet the band way before I could even remember it. I was around a week old when that went down - they were doing a little private show inside Neil's mom's house down in Port Dalhousie, St. Catharines.
Her and Alex went to McDonalds to pick up food for the entire gig that night, and she said the bill was somewhere around $200, and took almost half an hour before they had everything.
Now I'm starving. Hrmph.

Ah yes, the much anticipated documentary of our best modern day director. Preceeded by "The Last Waltz"-highly suggested filming of the last concert by "The Band" featuring the excellent guitarist Robbie Robertson. Then the special airs, followed by "Raging Bull"-Deniro's first best actor Oscar performance. That's not true-he SHOULD'VE got it for "The Deer Hunter", but in the biggest disgrace in all of Oscar history, they gave it to Jon Voight for "Coming Home"!!! (I'll never forget that, I was so crushed). Side note-I have a family member that worked extensively with Marty on "Taxi Driver". Enjoy, folks!

Dave,
Will there be any snippets of the Key Club show posted? I have checked 6767, Issac's, and the TPC site daily. Or are all of you busy with the music, before you go back into the studio, to post anything from the show?
Cheers,
Mike C.
Posted by: Mike at December 14, 2004 05:06 PM
Lyn, what a coincidence. I was going to ask people earlier today who was their fav modern day director but decided against it 'cos I couldn't make my own mind over Scorsese and P.T. Anderson. Instead I watched Anderson's Magnolia (which by the way deals with coincidence). Oh yeah and BTW, no Scorsese night tonight here in the other side of the globe... I agree w/ what you said about The Deer Hunter and Bob DeNiro!

I was reading about Scott Peterson. Here in snowy and icy PA, a rural community, we had a Peterson event. About two miles from my house, a 24 yr old man shot his pregnant wife, 21, in the head as she fled their residence. It seems she couldn't take his drugging - left him a week ago - came back on Saturday. They went to a party where she argued with him about his cocaine habit. She must have fled in a hurry because she wasn't dressed as she was backing out of the driveway in her car - the car went down the hill and into an embankment. Other neighbors of mine found the car while leaving for work. They assumed it was an accident, until they saw her. The husband was caught in Ohio and now awaits extradition - he was aiming at the car, not her - but he left her. She died - and so did their unborn baby! Hope Laci's law is in effect here!
But would you send some thoughts this way? My sister is still recovering from throat surgery - we are praying she will be able to sing again. And my little boy is heartbroken - our kittens, Figgy and Boo, wanted to roam on Sunday night and we have not seen them since. After rescueing them from the flooding of Ivan, they have had constant colds and I am afraid our bitter weather may have been too much for them. So, please Santa, bring them home!
Always,
me

Hi fam. I still haven't cached up with all the reading so I don’t know if someone already mentioned this. Did anyone catch that Camp Freddy is having a free show on the 27th me thinks? I caught part of the announcement during CFR.
Hope you are all able to make it. I’m totally bummed. I want it all; I’ll be missing at least 4 concerts that I really wanted to see during the holidays. There is the CF show at the key club, Danzig (who I never seen but really wanted to see), the two VR shows at New Years and who knows what else. But I really have no room to complaint. So I’ll stop while I’m ahead. Anyhow I wanted to wish everyone a wonderful Tuesday night. It looks like I will be catching the banyan concert tomorrow. Can’t wait.

I just want to say how pissed I was last January
when the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA announced the JANE's show had been cancelled. I had been to every concert that came to New England since 1988. I even travelled to the Roxy in LA, CA once for a Jane's show in 1990. I know this blog is for your new band but damnit I have to vent. Please reunite with PF and mend the fence, then play 2 shows in New England. Just think of the money.

On my way to a Christmas party tonight, listening to the edge 102.1 in Toronto, and they were discussing Nothings Shocking as one of the best Alt rock albums. Myself and the boys in the car all hoped they topped off the discussion with some Janes music. They played Jane Says, (not the Kettle version, which is one of the most amazing songs ever, but still great) and in between singing we talked about how Strays was the last Rock CD worth buying. You guys fucking rock and thank you very much for creating music that is timeless and truely inspriring. I don't even sing in the shower but if I had to do kareokee it would be a Janes song. Best of luck with the The Panic Channel, but Guys forgive Guys, give your boy a break. Thank you for the music and the opportunity to say this. Mery Christmas, Garry Bettman Sucks, I miss hockey and good new rock music!!

With the big headlines, come the rookies to the site. Should we have some sort of hazing?
Posted by: Schwing at December 15, 2004 06:03 AM
Elizabeth...how about a TPC sticker instead?
Schwing...'hazing'? 'rookies'? hmmm, I think someone has brought this up before....Will there be spankings involved, cause, I'm pretty new myself...and..might I add, have been a bit naughty....
Lisa!!!Where are you....?

Hey Dave,
I'm not sure if you know about MySpace.com, but they have a whole music section where bands can create a profile and post music, pictures, blogs, etc. And I noticed today that there is no profile for Panic Channel, someone has created a fan group, but you guys should really create a profile, it would be a great way to get out there to even more fans!

charlesity: DO I like Jane's Addiction? Yes. They rock my fucking socks off. I am proud to say that their albums hold a special place in my heart... along with Jello and Christmas Kangaroos, which could never be replaced nor substituted for.
Dave: I am a teenage girl living in Dallas Texas, very typical stereotype thing going on, because I worship the ground that you walk on, and I'm very close to hyperventilating as I sit here with my best friend leaving a comment on your site. I have so much respect for you and what you did from playing with Jane's Addiction (one of the most influential bands in rock history) to playing with the Red Hot Chili Peppers (another great band). You rock my world.

Yes, Laura. I've been recommending MySpace's music section to all of my musician friends, so I extend the same advice to TPC.
Happy Birthday, Obvious!
Krista... Capricorns unite! I'm January 2nd (dropping the hint early so perhaps I may get an acknowledgement from Dave... put it on your calendar, boy.)

Good Morning Dave!
Happy Birthday Obvious...hope your day is perfect in everyway.
Welcome to all the new peeps and a warm Hello and Happy Wednesday to my special Family!
PS....Colleen...how is home-ownership treating you? Are you all settled in yet???
PSS...Jezz...HI SWEETS!!! Oh...now I'm shouting...sorry! I'm a little late with this but, the "holiday treat" that reminds me of Christmas is this wonderful fruit salad that my Aunt used to make...it's delicious but no ever ate it because they were to full of other stuff...that became the tradition, she made it, no one ate it, but all commented on how good it was and how they wish they had room for it! I am now proudly upholding that tradition in her honor. ;)
