Dave,

Have a great show. I will be there with you in spirit. In real life I will be in my BAUD 450 class trying to graduate... I am serious why couldn't I have been talented at music instead of business... I want to wake up at the crack of noon and play infront of 100's of fans... Not write business plans for stuff i don't even like.

Much Love,
Pony

Posted by: Whitepony at December 2, 2004 11:35 AM

Dave, just curious if you still speak to Twiggy since he's been playing in A Perfect Circle. He looks a lot "cleaner" than he did when he was with Manson...

This might sound like a really stupid question or maybe my browers kinda s**cks but who is that with their head against the drums? That would hurt for a few days, eh!

Hey Dave

Wondering how long you've been practicing yoga? And how many times a week do you do it?

Hey dave! Aww you're so sweet. Actually I've been thinking of getting a tattoo, in the weirdest place but hey I've been drawing on myself there and I like how it looks. Its um on my thumb actually. :-/ Just alittle something, weird I know, but my cousin and I were talking about tattoos on Thanksgiving and she said of course its gonna hurt more on skin and bone then on a place that has some fat... so I'm guessing it'll hurt if I decided to get one. Ha my friend started calling me Carmen today, maybe because I'm always talking about her. In a GOOD way OF COURSE! Hmm, alright well just thought I'd say heyyy to the most wonderful person in the world, and now I'm gonna go... have a nice dayy!

Hi Dave:

I'm just wondering if you're familiar with some of the bands from the great white north (Canada) and what you might think of some of the sounds? I'm thinking mainly of The Tea Party, The Tragically Hip, Sum 41, Nickelback, Our Lady Peace, Three Doors Down. I'm not sure if these current bands have made it that far west or not!!??

Posted by: SharonAgain at December 2, 2004 12:45 PM

Dave,

I'm from Worcester, MA and Janes kicked off the Jubilee tour there in '01 and I just wanted to tell you how special that moment was for me. I figured out myself that night and it just seemed magical that my favorite band came to me. I've never been so close to a live act before. I hope to see you again someday in similar fashion. Good luck tonight! ..but you surely don't need it-

Posted by: Andy at December 2, 2004 12:58 PM

Love ya Brett. Smootches. Thanks.

Shout out to Angel, Jilla, Mooyyaa, Skot, Kyle, Jezzi, Misty, Bird, Abby, and everyone lucky enough to get to go and hear such an awesome lineup at tonight's show. I'm excited for all of you, so enjoy your night while we freeze up north here in the Twin Cities. If anyone can record 103.1 this evening PLEASE let me know.

Bluelizard, caught you online and we're all set.

Tex (Laura) I got you covered for a shirt!
Hopefully they'll have small so I can get one for myself finally!
Just to remind everyone, they will eventually have the Ts for sale online... until then I'll be more than happy to be your T-shirt shop. hehe

ok gotta drop the rent off and figure out what in the world to wear!

Hope everyone is having a great day! We'll be thinking of those who aren't able to attend tonight...

I can PayPal you the money.

Posted by: mortisha8 at December 2, 2004 02:22 PM

Hi mortisha8,

I thought they were one size fits all. lol

I guess a medium would be fine, since I don't wear my t-shirts skin tight.

Did you see them at the first show, did they run small? if they run small, then a large. Sorry. I don't want to have to give my bra size here! lol

Hey Gang,

If you are on the East Coast as I am, you can listen to the show live at:
http://www.indie1031.fm/panicchannel.html
The bad news is TPC won't be playing until 1:20 AM our time, (yes work will blow tomorrow). 103.1 has been playing a snippet from the studiowork all week.
Dave and Billy are chatting everyone up now until The Tints go on. Enjoy!

Cheers,

Mike C.

Dave...
What are the two chords you play in "Slow Divers". I've wanted to know how to play that song forever, and I just cant figure it out.

Hey everyone,

Hope you're enjoying the show!

I just want to congratulate Abby on the new job and Colleen on the new house. Best of luck to you both!

I have a phone interview tomorrow for a job. Hopefully it will go well. As far as jobs go, I'm happy either way, whether I work a 9-5 or I freelance on my own. So we'll just see what happens.

Oh... and I STILL can't listen to Indie 103. :( When I click the link that says "CLICK HERE" to listen, nothing happens. I'm going to install some Windows updates and see if that helps...

Cheers,
-Denise

Posted by: Denise at December 2, 2004 08:19 PM

Sorry Gang!

I may be wrong, Dave and Billy did the CF show backstage at the Key, but since it has just been the regular playlist. The 103.1 site led me to think that when they said that Donovan was going to host the live broadcast, it was going to be the whole show. Looks like I'm wrong!
To all of you going, ENJOY! I will continue to jones until the guys let us in on some tunes before the record drops.

Cheers,

Mike C.

Posted by: Mike at December 2, 2004 08:37 PM

From the Indie 103.1 Web site.

"Indie 103.1 will be broadcasting live from the Key Club to bring this event to all of their listeners. Donovan Leitch, the lead singer of the all star jam band Camp Freddy will be the host for the night. Billy Morrison, the Camp Freddy founder and former touring bassist for The Cult, will also be performing with his band Doheny."

Tells you what I know.....

One more thing, for all the cosmetics lovers out there. I had a "6767 moment" today. I was at the hair salon today getting a touch-up, and I saw Biba cosmetics at their makeup station. So I thought of you lovely ladies. (And some of the men.) :)

Hi missjey,

BIBA is opened again?? Wow, I would love to hear more!

I went to the original store waaay back, when I went to school in England! I still have all the items I bought there.....a satin blazer, a few tops & a bunch of cosmetics. I even saved the little black bags the makeup was in. I also have my original Mary Quant items includng the yellow metal case & the crayon makeup!

Yes, we had a lengthy discussion here about BIBA, Mary Quant & our own version of Biba/Quant.....Anna Sui.

I would love to hear more about the relaunch! Did you work on the ad campaign? Is the makeup case design still in that art deco style? Are they going to be selling BIBA here in the States again?

thanks!

Wollow, wow! Amazing photos! I really wish I didn't live in London!!

itanja, hey! The thing is that I go to a fashion school here in London where one of my teachers is part of the team that is relaunching Biba. We had an assignment where we were supposed to give her our input on how we would launch it again, i.e if it would be 'mainstream' or luxury as a brand, if the store would be on a high-street or on an expensive location, if the clothes should have the same style or be made in to trendy for today, how the ad-campaign would look and who we would want as the model for the relaunch- ads. Most of the students in my class wanted Biba to launch as a cheap brand, and only in London. I don't know how we affected my teacher who actually will affect the decision bade by Biba but I was the one who was chosen as the 'best idea'- one and that was because my project was graphical with photoshop-shit and all haha :) If you want to know more, don't hesitate to e-mail me!
I do not know if they plan on going international, but I know there are some vintageshops in London where they sell 75% Biba and 25% other stuff...
Take care everyone!

Bianca lizardi

I don't wish to pry but why are you asking permission from your husband to go out to a gig. He isn't your dad and you are not 12 years old.
And to be his slave for a weekend in return for 'letting you out' and for him to dictate what time you can come back. He has not right to treat you that way. You are an independent human being not his free servant.

Everytime he goes out with the guys is he back by midnight and is he your slave for the week in return.

Just say on whatever day I am going to a gig at wherever. If you want to come with me fine, if not I'll see you when I get back.

Any relationship should be equal.

First off, thanx Abb (and the others) for those nice pix again! And congrats to the TpC again!

Right, I've just finished recording the Guitar solo part of "She Won't last", as heard during their second gig at the DragonFly.
I kept it simple, I recorded the Drum/bass/2Guitars and solo.
For those interested, I could post the Tab of it.

Hey everyone, good day wherever you are...happy Friday. Nothing much to say, except hello to all. A personal aside - got the Nirvana Box Set, and though i was very hesitant at first due to the lack of unheard material (to my knowledge), but was throughly surprised by how many really cool demo's and solo acoustic demo's and song's with totally different lyric's etc... It's soooooo Raw and unpolished too, that unless you're REALLY a nirvana fan, and not a Butch Vig fan, you wouldn't like it...but if you have any of that punk fucker streak left in you, this Box set is worth it... 3 CD's and 1 DVD...80 some song's in all, 68 unreleased. I have alot of BL's, and most of this stuff or these particular version's were new to me... anyway love peace and fried chicken grease!!!!!

Posted by: Adrock at December 3, 2004 08:24 AM

Hi all,

Thanks so much to those who posted pics from last night. The band looked great (Dave in particular, of course), and I'm sure they sounded that way too. I trust everyone had a wonderful time.

You Cali folk are so lucky to live where you do. It must be beyond incredible to just down go to the local club or watering hole, and see DAVE NAVARRO, STEPHEN PERKINS, and co. performing.

Here, on LI, you're lucky if you see cover bands of Bon Jovi and Motley Crue. (rolling eyes) I'm exaggerating a bit... But you certainly don't see many contemporary rock legends hanging out here. Oh well...

My phone interview is in about 20 minutes. Wish me lucl! I'm going to exercise for a while to blow off some nervous energy.

Cheers,
-Denise

Do you jam alot with Steve Tyler? He recently visited our little coastal community on the west coast and went Salmon fishing, then bought a load of oysters and crab from a friend who runs a small seafood store.

More later.
Thx

So last night, I fell asleep watching the Disney movie "Brother Bear." The next thing I know, I'm having a dream that the decrepit old man from the "Enter Sandman" video is breaking down my bathroom door and forcing me to have anal sex with him. Then, Rene Russo shows up, but she's not Rene Russo, she's my mother, and she starts yelling about what a disappointment (and short) I am. No more Disney movies at bedtime...

Kisses to all.

Poppyseed, you ain't married is ya?

It's out of respect that you ask (male as well as female) because if you have household responsibilities (such as kids) then the other person is shouldering the task by themselves, instead of having their partner their to lighten the load. Just doing fuck all in terms of whatever you want shows a lack of respect and consideration for your mate.

I would NEVER just tell my wife "Hey babe, I'm going out." Tom Leykis can say I'm a pussy for that, but I think it's just mutual consideration for the other person. Many guys I know who are married have the same kind of 'rule'. Funnily enough, their *happily* married.

And yeah, if I go out by myself or to a convention or something, you can be damn sure I'll be my wife's slave for the weekend.

(You say it, like it's a bad thing...LOL)

ON the topic of TPC...

congrats on a great show last night guys, looks like you really enjoyed yourselves! And to everyone who got to go and hear the first performance of N1... Curse you! Now I am spewing the curses on you that will result in a cursing! It's early, I woke up to Powerpuff girls, where's the caffeine...

Rantz...Don't take this the wrong way, but, I love you...I was going to say something myself, because I know both Blanca and her lovely husband, but you put it so nicely, and you do come from a place I have never been, you know, with the ring and all....

Blanca...if you are reading this ,whatever happened last night, no worries, ok? I love you, I don't have phone with me, so let me know if I am coming over tonight and what time?

Brett---no phone, couldn't get back to you...terrible night at school last night, I was totally unfair to the professor, and found out another one of my instructors is gravely ill...I was a bad, bad, jezebel...

Abby...you have no reason to be so nice to me, thank you, I am glad you met my friend Lyn...

Maria! I expect a full report!!

Dave, you guys really rocked the house, it's great to see that your first "night out" was such a success...

ok, back to the kiddles
jezebel(on the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, three French toasts, two turtlenecks, and a beer in a tree.)
