Been away for the weekend. Good to be back. Seems like alot has happened. Sorry to hear about Steve and Larissa. I was robbed at gunpoint and that feeling is horrible. Hope everyone has a great day and I can't wait for the show next week.

Hi all!

*goes to listen to the clips, as she is worn out and too tired to think of anything to say (It's the curse of being boring, I guess)*

I saw Carmen in Starsky and Hutch last night, btw. Didn't know she was in it. Lovely, as usual.

Hope you're all well!

hey all

you know, iv been reading DTTAH, and alot of the drug talk in the book (especially 'How To Get Off Drugs Without Really Trying')reminds me of The Naked Lunch by William S Burroughs. you all read it? did any of you get that feeling aswell?

dave, have you read The Naked Lunch?

stay well family!

Dave:

I was helping a friend with a problem that happened over the weekend where a "domestic dispute" took place so - to - speak and she was having trouble understanding how she still felt for the person. Thinking about it she said that maybe it was the thought that she was failing in the relationship and I mentioned you and what I read in your book concerning failure in relationships as success rather than failure. Come to find out she loves you and lent her the book. She is an incredibly gifted writer and what you wrote really uplifted her. I thank you and I can say she does as well. Peace

Dave,

Thanks for the vid (thank you Freak!) of CF, we appreciate it.

Getting greedy here but what the hell, any chance of getting some more footage at some point?

It helps us feel a part of the whole thing you know..

Happy Monday(s),

Awesome videos. :)

I just watched a bunch in there and I was wondering:

What was the concept behind the Venus in Furs video??? Wow.

Posted by: Cassandra at November 8, 2004 11:55 AM

Freak, you rock! I loved the bites. Give yourself a big hug from me.

Love todays pic. He is SO lovely. Hey family, this morning I saw the video for "stop". I have not seen that in so long. Does anyone know where that video was shot at? Take care everyone.

Love, CC

Posted by: Crecencia at November 8, 2004 11:57 AM

Venus in Furs=a glimpse of heaven. I was front row at Irving Plaza and the combo of Dave in front of me playing, and Lou Reed playing.....I think I tasted God;)

Thanks Freak/Dave,
The clips were great. It made me wish I could win the Lotto already and hire you guys for my B-day bash.

My dream concert line up:

Cardboard Vampires- To get the mood started right:
TPC – Only because you guys have less songs
Doheny-
Courtney or Juliet Lewis and the licks - I guess it wouldn’t hurt to have a little estrogen
Audioslave- I just love the sound of them
Velvet Revolver
Camp Freddy- would naturally close the show-additional special guest that would be invited Steven Stevens, Billy Idol, Steven Tyler……Bono

A girl can dream.

Now those are some perfect windows (referring to today's picture)

Sandy... keep ya head up!

Colleen... you made me laugh so hard I hurt my tush falling off my chair! (my co-workers are used to me doing that, so no one even fliched)

Neil... that's a precious story about your friend. Tell her to leave the fucker. (I know, easier said than done.)

Hello to all and back to doing my boss' work plus my own.

Posted by: NightBird at November 8, 2004 01:06 PM

Wendy. Can I come to that party. Sounds like my kind of shindig.

Posted by: Crecencia at November 8, 2004 01:21 PM

I think I just would add one old 80's band. Like Missing persons. Yeah! that would be groovy. Take care sweetie.-CC

Posted by: Crecencia at November 8, 2004 01:23 PM

wow, today was a horrible day, thank god i have those beautiful eyes of dave to look at and the clips of freaks, make me feel a little bit better!
some days just suck, everything and everyone sucks..and there's always one point in the day when you burst into tears over something ridiculous small (like, right in the middle of the cafetaria..why not)
and it's a monday, that never helps..hm, or maybe it were all those really low grades i got from my exams! that kicks ass. thank god this day is over, won't have a day like this for a while. maybe tomorrow, but for now i can still think it won't be!
it's a pity tops of the pops changed the openingtune, whole lotta love is great. they're a bunch of weirdo's!
i'd better go to bed so this monday will change into a tuesday! i'm having those weird nightmares lately, let's hope that was just the examtension, i want some rest! and no people in weelchairs on a sinking boat trying to stab me with a kitchenknife, that would be nice...
(sorry everyone, this post didn't turn out as planned)
sweet dreams, emma

YOu poor thing. Sweet dreams Emma. Tomorrow will be better. Love,CC

Posted by: Crecencia at November 8, 2004 01:31 PM

Crecensia of course you would be invited.

To further extend my dream. Again I would have to win tons of money to pull this off.

I would have each band invite 25 of their hardcore fans from around the world to this little B-day musical festival. I think the ideal place to have it would have to be Vegas, maybe the Joint at the hardrock. Airfare and accommodations would be included plus a little spending cash. It would be a fan’s fantasy. Can you imagine? Of course it wouldn’t be limited to 25 fans from each band. All my friends would be included plus they could have a guest list too on top of the 25 fans. But I wouldn’t pay for the guest list.

K- That’s enough daydreaming for me. Time for me to get back to work.

Posted by: wendybird at November 8, 2004 02:02 PM

Yup, no one needs nightmares.

DTTAH is still unavailable in Finland. Maybe I'll just order it from...elsewhere.

BTW, has anyone got a clue of what is Zack De La Rocha doing these days?

Dave, have you ever worked with ZDLR?

I wish everyone a better week than the last one!

Dave & DN family,

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is feeling good today. I bought SHREK 2 this weekend. I love that movie.
Another one of my favorites is THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. It probably has one of the greatest male casts ever. Steve McQueen, Yul Brynner, James Coburn, Eli Wallach and Charles Bronson. That's a tought lineup to beat.

Later,
Mike from NYC

Pekka~Order it off Amazon.com or maybe even Ebay.

Yeh.

I feel like a dumbass right now.

Pekka, I heard that Zack is starting another band. DOn;t quote me on that, not sure.

And speaking of movies, I saw The Incredibles. Great movie. Very cool. It has more action than the other Pixar movies.

I'm suffering from a major illness - I can't stop hitting refresh every 10 minutes to check the posts and it's spreading to Steve Isaacs site. Please someone tell me I'm not alone! I just like these worlds so much. It's not like I need a life because I have one (work and school - both full time)but the computer is the center of my life now!!

Hi Dave and family. Melissa, I know just how you feel. I have been in school and working full time so long. I have lost count of the years.I'm trying to get into vet school, it's so competitive. Sometimes I just cry and feel so defeated. This site makes me smile everyday. The words give me the strength to stay focused and not let go of my dreams.
Thanks everyone!

Melissa~ I hit refresh all the time when I'm on too. I feel so mean if I don't get a chance to read everyone's posts and let them know I feel for them if they're down. I rarely do get through all the posts, though, it takes too much time.

Ah well...

I'm headed to bed, with all these pretty voices in my head.

Hope yer all well!

I think it’s contagious because I have the same illness. I also have other stuff, I’m actually at work right now but it’s so damn tempting. I don’t refresh I use my favorites to jump from site to site to site. God I hate technology. What’s even worse is that none of my friends do this. When we are going out I’m usually a few minutes late because I’m checking the damn internet. They don’t even ask questions anymore. It’s all too sad.

Really Dave, that pic is suitable for framing!

Blanca, help!!!
Nightbird, I miss you,

Movies, I am eagerly waiting The Polar Express, my kids love Chris Van Allsburg...he is the most awesome storyteller/illustrator....Tom Hanks is my all time fav actor, yes, I said it!! The animation looks spectatular, similar to the illustrations in some of his books

Can't wait to see Incredibles, loving Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter, and isn't there a Jane's song in there, what's not to love!!

Emma, Pekka, Kirsti, greetings to my fellow Norweigan-Finnish-Danish friends. love to you all

Wendy---we need to formulate plan for next Tuesday, how bout I get there early and save places for everyone? Just in case we don't win tix or get on list

Re the banner stuff...if you are getting so many banner submissions & let's face it, there are MANY talented artists here......why not......just CHANGE the 6767 banner ever month or every 2 months or so......then ALL the talented 6767 artists will possibly get a chance at getting their banners put up? It also keeps things 'fresh'!

for what it's worth, my vote goes to ITANJA's idea

WOW, I thought I was the only one who was checkin; this site every 5 mins. Glad I am not alone. I guess thats why we are family and we all get along. Funny.

Does anyone know where the lovley Dave pic is from? I woudl like to have that framed for my room.

Posted by: Crecencia at November 8, 2004 04:16 PM

Hi All...

Just checking in briefly... I want to wish itanja and her mom the best of luck. (I'll write you soon!) And best wishes to anyone else out there who is crazed or stressed.

And to those of you who are hooked on the internet at work, particularly these sites, I was the same way! (And no, that's NOT why we got layed off. LOL) I was ultra-discreet about it, but I would check this site, and at the time, the board at xiola.org, as often as humanly possible.

Though I always got my work done, I distinctly recall those times when the boss would come up to my cube while I would be in the midst of reading something on the web... Panic (no pun intended) would set in, and I would instantly close the window and go, "Hi!", and act all sweet and innocent. (I KNOW you guys know how that goes. LOL) If they seemed suspicious, I would explain that I was doing some "background research" for a project.

Ah, the joy of office life in the 21st century...

Cheers,
-Denise

Does everyone that plays guitar while standing next to Steven Tyler end up looking like Joe Perry? If so, I need to learn guitar and stand next to Steven Tyler.

First, I want to apologize for being so brief in my recent posts. (That will include this one.) My head hurts and I have so much on my mind. I'd love to share, but if I got started, I would tie up all of your eyes for hours, and maybe even blind some of you. Perhaps some of you might fall asleep even... If any of you have trouble sleeping, please give me a call and I will lament about my life until I hear you snoring on the other end.

itanja... I'm sorry about your mom.
Emma... I'm sorry about your day.
Melissa, wendybird, Chantelle and Denise... I am sorry about your "refresh" addiction. Hi, my name's Adina and I'm a 6767 addict.
Jezebel... I am sorry I've been MIA. Babe, you know I miss you, too. E-mail me... I want to know how your are.
To the rest of you... I'm sorry for being so apologetic.

About being caught at work, yeah that’s always a problem. My desk is in the front office and we have about 110 instructors, plus my boss (whose office is in the back of my desk), student worker, co-worker and all the other people and students that are always checking in. It’s a little hard pulling it off. I guess that’s part of the appeal.

Anyhow about meeting up early on Tuesday, well I’m still waiting for the right moment to ask for the time off. Seeing that I have no more vacation time its’ going to be a little tough. Maybe I’ll just call in sick. I don’t know yet. I called the dragonfly to see if we can purchase tickets in advance but they said that Tuesdays are always free. So I guess there is no cover. I’m still a little worried about getting there late.

And Jezzy about me being sweet, oh God no, please don’t start false rumors. Believe me I can be quite the pill. I’m only sweet once a year, and that day of the year is already gone :D.

For the panic agents that will be in attendance I still have red buttons (for free) for anyone that wants them. This was the one good thing I did this year.

K, I'll ask people if they know about 6767. If they say yes, you get a button. I don't know what time I'll get there, I just asked to leave early so I’ll probably get there around 7-8 p.m.

If I don’t go up to you and you see a girl with two buttons, and a drink in each hand that will be me. Just ask me and I’ll give you one. I think I still have about 60 left so don’t worry.

Can't sleep... I should though but just can't! Lots to do tomorrow. My refresh-obsession go my back at the computer... Denise's story made think of the boss in "Office Space". Anybody seen? Lumbergh was his name, if I remember correctly. I thought it was hilarious how he would "stalk" his employees during (and off) office hours! *Peter, whaaaat's happening?*

Wish I was there on tuesday. Well, life's a bitch.

Posted by: Pekka at November 8, 2004 06:12 PM

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Stop video was filmed in Mt. Baldy CA on 7-7-90, Crecencia.

Itanja, my Grandma has Macular Degeneration, so I understand a little bit about it. On the positive side of it, your mom may not be able to completely get rid of it, but there are things she can do to slow down and possibly stop its progression. I'm sure her doctor will tell her all her options. I'm sure she's going to be ok.

Spreading the love,
Deena

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys! It WILL happen this time lol

Just a reminder that if any of you LA people need something to do you can come to the Rainbow on Sunset in hollywood Sunday night (nov 14) for a little gathering. I honestly can't remember who is from where anymore so if you're interested let me know and I'll send you an invitation.

Sarah sent me an Andy Rooney monologue extolling the benefits of women over 30 (yes, that would be me)

Check this little snippet out

For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when
you can get the milk for free".
80% of women are against marriage, why?
Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig, just to get a little sausage.

Hi Dave & amazing Fam -

New poster -- just wanted to say hi -- great vibe on this site; Dave, thank you for inspirational music & words for so many years -- you rock, in all senses of the word. DTTAH provided me with some much needed insight into a much beloved rocker friend of mine (insane talent/unwavering artistic integrity/heartbreaking life), and I thank you for having the courage and grace to share your experience with the world. Seems to be that when someone is blessed with great creativity, great challenges will follow in dealing with the rigid realities of life. You are a truly good person, and deserve all the great things that come to you. Question -- TPC show on Tuesday (my b-day!!!) are there any advance tix at all?

Either way, what better way to celebrate than pure, no-holds-barred rock? Love and peace to all, and look forward to seeing you there.

hey everyone!

jezzi, Cassandra, Abby, Brett, Wendy, Annie and everyone else planning on going to the show Tuesday - i'll be there for sure. i'm game on meeting up before hand. of course we could always just meet in line! just watch out for those "no parking" signs!!! =( i'm hoping it will be as easy as last time, not too many people. so, email me. i haven't had the time to really read all these posts lately. i can't spend so many hours of my day on here!!! it might be easier if i had an office job and a computer all day again but... oh well! so either email me or you can catch me over on Steve's site too. can't wait to see you all again!

and just for kicks, check out http://www.boldlygoingnowhere.net/se/

my favorite new site.

and Dave, hope all is well with you and yours. hope i get to say hi to you again on Tuesday.

Help for 6767 addiction…I select the text and print it so that I can look like I’m doing paperwork. It works pretty well, but I feel kind of bad killing all those trees. In my defense, I only print what I haven’t read yet, not the same posts over and over. This only works if you have your own printer, I wouldn’t advise going through the network. Your boss may pick up your printout in his work and have proof!

Oh, Sean and/or Itanja—if you have any personal CF pix from Irving Plaza, do you mind sending them to me? Thanks!

Hey 6767-ers:

'Sup homies. Hope all is well. I finally finished Scar Tissue by Kiedis! It took me ten years to finish it, but it was an interesting read, although in some ways, I don't know if I liked knowing about every single woman he's ever slept with his entire life, although I can't lie and say it wasn't interesting nevertheless...I'm now onto the Tommy Lee book, Tommyland, which I got signed by him in Ridgewood, NJ. He really seems to have a good sense of humor (hello, he co-wrote the book with his member, which he personally calls "Dick" as in Richard HAHA and reminds it of how its job is to honk the horn- HILARIOUS) anyway, I think I will really like Tommyland. But I really admire artists whom are very honest, self-deprecating and sincere. Honestly, I am big on collecting quotes and there are a couple in there that really spoke to me. The same goes for the Navarro and Kiedis books: they're all very well-written and certain quotes are sections do pop out to me. (No pun intended for the Tommy book! Get your minds out of the gutter, kiddies)

XOXO

Ellen

PS I got some pics back from the NYC B&N book signing. I'll try emailing you all, as well as Dave. Maybe he can post our group picture on 6767 or one of the galleries?

hey everyone, feeling much better, thanx all for the sweet words. i got another low grade today but i could handle it a lot better.

i thing i have the 6767 addiction too. because this is very international and we're all in different timezones there's always someone who posts something. as soon as i wake up, get home, finish lunch, before i go to bed, i have to visit 6767..i'm glad i'm not alone. i thought i was beeing weird and obsessive. maybe i'm am, but at least i'm not the only one

the sun is shining so i have to take a walk. even though it's so cold my butt freezes off

Dave,

Saw the movie Gummo last night on IFC and it was well...interesting. A real dark look at small town life. I usually like dark movies but just kinda found it boring. The bunny boy was kinda cool though.

My own acting thing has been picking up recently and I have been doing background work for some embarrassing T.V shows I would prefer not to name. Hopefully I will start getting some speaking roles soon.

P.S...Still waiting for you to come to Toronto.

Laters,
Ryan

Went to Luxor last night and ate at the steakhouse...great food! Where do you stay when you're here? Do you have any clubs you'd recommend checking out?

Ellen, I finished Scar Tissue last week. I thought it was a great book butI felt some of the vocabulary he used was forced like he purposely used bigger words to try to prove that he was intellegent. I knew what the words meant but they weren't typicall words used in everyday dialogue - did anyone else who read the book get that too??

Timothy!!! Happy belated, birthday buddy! I just checked out your band's site, very cool, where do you boys originate from? I liked the lyrics, there's one song where you have a chorus line that goes "Don't you ever try this at home". I liked that!!

ok, Nightbird, I promise, I will get paper done today!!
Blanca...I love you!

DAVE!!!! seven days.....(The Ring reference there)....

Good Morning...My name is Cori and I, too, am a 6767 addict....my job is boring and sucky and I just can't help but check in here every hour or so! :D (Although my addiction seems to cure itself on the weekend, unless I have insomnia)

lwyrgrl - Welcome, nice to meet you!

Rantz...http://archive.gamespy.com/comics/deathmarch/rantz/daveanime.jpg...very cool!

Happy Tuesday, fellow addicts.

Not sure if anyone has ever been to this site or not but it's one of my favorites - http://www.findadeath.com

Be warned that there are some graphic pictures of dead celeberties but it's a very cool site if you like this sort of thing... I'm just sharing because I happened to check it today and they have some new additions.

Hi Sue,

I'll send you some of my CF NYC concert shots, if that's what you were asking about. Btw, are you Caffeinated Sue? It gets VERY confusing here sometimes!

Unfortunately, I ran out of film by the time we all went see Dave (Perk & Jerry Cantrell) outside by the backstage area after the gig. So I don't have any fan shots with Dave.

take care,
itanja

Melissa...

...i'd have to disagree. In every interview i've ever seen of Anthony he seems to use long unsual words.
To me and my good friend these words are something we always pick up on and make a game of using them in everyday sentances.
We beleive his favourite words are chemistry and beautiful :o)
