Leaving Las Vegas

67roadsignIf you read Steve I's post, then you know what happened. I wasn't going to say anything but since he has, I feel comfortable mentioning it here. Steve and Riss got robbed last night. They got some stuff, computers and electronics, nothing irreplaceable but the violation feels so dark. I know, as I have been robbed in the past as well. Awful stuff. As a result, some site progress will be arrested for a while. We will get him back up and running, but for now, any new info about the band and what's going on can be found here or at Steve's site. I'm just glad they are OK. Nobody was home when this took place so it could have been much worse. Prayers for Steve and Riss...

CFR is on tonight and we will discuss our time in Vegas. It was just great. Our guests included, Courtney and Lisa Leverage, Scott Weiland, Duff and Slash, Michael DesBarres, Steven Tyler, Jerry Cantrell and Billy Duffy. Jennifer Morrison shot some great video and they have promised me a copy of the show along with the footage of Lou Reed from several weeks ago. I'll get it up as soon as I get it.

Thank you all for the cool Banner submissions. I'll try to narrow it down today if I can. For those of you who don't make the final cut, it's nothing personal, I only have space for one, but all of them will appear on the Agency Artwork pages.

CFR is in the studio tonight, so we look forward to hearing from some of you on the phones. We miss the phones!

Have a beautiful day...

P.S. There is a great Perkins article in the new issue of Music Connection.

Shit man. Hope Steve gets all his stuff sorted.
There's some right sick ass people around...closest i can relate is when i got my bmx nicked, hardly the same but the fact it was from my house and knowing someone paid a visit was kinda creepy.

Hope my banner gets short listed :o)

Sorry to hear about Steve and Riss! We all wish them the best...

Hope to be able to get through on the phones tonight so that I can stutter and bumble my way through a conversation with you guys!

being robbed sucks if yoou're a tramp or a rockstar, it's just total selfish violation of self. send love to the guys for me. oh, and thank you for saying, er, thank you. that email is oh so getting printed!

with love,

So sorry to hear that. I know how violating that can feel, and never would wish that upon anyone. Sounds like a great show in Vegas! Loved Cantrell and Duffy here in Austin on the 31st, and the lineup in Vegas sounded splendid. Hopefully I'll get to see someday...

The concept of CF is awesome! How often do concert goers get to see the likes of DN, Scott Weiland, Steven Tyler, Jerry Cantrell, Lou Reed and others all on the same stage without having to sell your first born child just to get in. Can't wait till you come back to So Cal. How bout a San Diego show??? Send well wishes to Steve and Riss!!!

Cheers, Chris

Shit sorry to hear about Steve I hope he getz his shit back together soon and gets back on-line. I cant really relate because it has never happened to me but I kinda understands what it must feel like.

I'm going to try and catch CFR tonight and maybe even try to get through on the phones if I dont get to drunk first..lol.

Have a good day,
Ryan

Hey its been awhile since I went here, and I just wanted to say hello to everyone!! And hi to the new people as well. I havent gone here due to complexities and negativities.. But I am glad to see that the people in the community are getting along better now.

That is a horrible thing about Steve and Riss getting stuff stolen from them, but I am glad they weren't hurt.

Now to bring up my question for today.. Sorry if its been asked. Like I said, I havent been here for a bit.
QUESTION: Dave, does that direct tv commercial with Carmen ever give you nightmares? The one where she has that fat guy body? It looked remarkably realistic and scared me.. I cannot imagine how it could/would effect you as her husband and all.

As far as banners go, I can't make one unfortunatley because MY computer isnt hooked up, but best of luck to all the people who did get one submitted. I have been impressed by all the stuff people here made so far.

Oh, and waay off topic:
I also have my site back up http://clik.to/1313

Well..It's off topic mostly, BUT Dave's VENUS IN FURS music video is still embedded into the video section, so it relates still..Kind of. :)

(It is still in the same state as it was when i took it down, but I will add stuff to it later when i get my computer out of storage.)

welcome back D!

Wow, sounds like it was a killer show! Wish I could have seen that!

YAY, CFR! It's been a while since I've listened. Glad it's on tonight.

the bad news for me is that they have blocked my access to 6767.com at work and it's probably only a matter of time before they block Steve I's site. I am not allowed internet access at work but fortunately the only sites I had access to besides the company site were those 2. Unfortunately they keep track of what you do and block any reported sites that you go to.
That's alright though, I have a computer and internet access at home to visit whatever sites I want.
We got a new manager last month and she is just AWESOME. She's a lot more communicative and more down to earth with us then the previous one.

I hope all the health issues people have on here turn out for the best. For pain (and also anxiety/to sooth nerves) I recommend Linden tea (be careful and don't go overboard with that stuff if you have really low blood pressure or heart disease though. To much of anything is never good.)

As far as the robbery goes, I have to say that something smells fishy. All these musicians connected to each other have gotten robbed- Matt Sorum (who fortunately got his stuff back), Dave has been robbed before as has Flea, now Steve.. I'm sure some others in the circle have too. Could it be the same person/people doing this to each of them? It could just be a coincidence or there could seriously be a common link.

M.

Bonnie... Your animal friends are precious. My little Katrina has a crush on your Salem. Anyway, welcome back to the community/family. I think I may have shown up after any major conflict went down. From what I can see, nobody has a nasty bite. And my thoughts on the fat man/Carmen creature.... very disturbing, indeed.

Maybe it's the press. They can get so much goss from peoples PC's.
If not the press people selling information?

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys! I'll be tuning in tonight with the rest of you, and if I get a chance to set the cdr up, I'll try to record the show too! If anyone is up for it, maybe we can have a C.F.R. chat in the panic room during the show? Just after it starts I'll pop into the room to see if anyone's around, provided I make it back from dinner in time. I am sure I will because I have to put the baby to sleep before that.

Here's the link to the chat: http://members.tripod.com/~tno13/panicroom.html

That really sucks about Steve and Riss... I can't even imagine how terrible that must feel. I'm going to visit Steve's board to send them some positive vibes.

Hi everyone!

Getting robbed sucks, especially when they take stuff you need/matters to you (like computers, which usually have loads of personal files and pictures on them) Hope Steve and Riss gets their stuff back.
This reminds me of the time me and a friend got robbed at gunpoint in some strange place outside London when we were 18. The robber only took our money, though, and I think we must've been pretty fucked up at the time because the first thing we did when the robber left us was laugh our asses off. It seriously struck us as the funniest thing ever (I guess you had to have been there...)

I'm so glad I've regained sanity since then :p

Hope yer all well!

deena~ Happy birthday! :)

Everyone~ If you could please do me a favour I'd appreaciate it muchly! What I need you to do is go to http://bylarm.k-prod.no/mp3catalog.php? (a Norwegian site, feel free to laugh at the language while you're there :) and vote for a band called 'evergary'. To do that you must go to the bottom of the page where it says "Bla i katalogen" and copy and paste 'evergary' there, and then press 'stem' next to the band name. ('stem' means 'vote') It's a couple of friends of mine's band, you see, and the top three bands get to play at a festival here.
This can only be done once from each computer, so if anyone would like to help a girl out, let me know and I'll put you down for an 'IOU'. Seriously :p

Ah well, it was worth a shot :)

Take care everyone, and have a great weekend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEENA~~!!

Sorry for the delay, my comp has been OFF all day, unusual for me, it's usually ON all day! lol Today I did my usual boring Saturday errands, cleaning & other 'weekend chores'! Ugh!

Hope you have a great evening & had a great dinner.

As for your Panic chat, I would love to be there, but I still can't log on with ANY of my browsers.

take care,

Hey Dave,

Re the banner stuff...if you are getting so many banner submissions & let's face it, there are MANY talented artists here......why not......just CHANGE the 6767 banner ever month or every 2 months or so......then ALL the talented 6767 artists will possibly get a chance at getting their banners put up? It also keeps things 'fresh'!

Just a suggestion, plus it actually seems pretty fair too!

take care,

Chantelle.... ferdig! (or however you say "done" in Norwegian... I think I may have found a new language to conquer)

Posted by: NightBird at November 6, 2004 05:42 PM

WOW! Off the computer for a day and look what happens! I can feel for Steve. It really isn't that things get taken - most items can be replaced - it is the feeling of losing your security. Twice in the past year, I have been a party to robberies. My mom's business was broken into and they stole her money/lock box which contained her life insurance policies, SSN's, signed checks . . . and a few days after the robbery, a woman picking up trash a couple miles away found a signed blank check. The area is called "the bends" and people throw things over these steep hillsides all the time. But since it was private property, we were not permitted to do a search. So I did something I am good at - wrote a letter about it and it was published in the area newspaper. And just two weeks ago, my office was burglarized. They smashed my computer and monitor, stole another monitor, trashed the place, started to steal the stereo (and dropped it, smashing it) and stole money. It felt like you were violated. I live in a neighborhood where you leave your doors unlocked and every pitches in during times of crisis. It takes just one person to make you look at your neighbor and think, could it have been you?

I am very glad to hear no one was hurt. And see I missed getting my banner ideas in too! I will still send them - you see if they are worth anything!

Peace to all!

Alright everyone, if you haven't gone out to buy the new Banyan cd, GO NOW!!! It's absolutley incredible.

I am absolutley heartbroken that I have to be out of town for the concert here in missoula. I actually cried when I heard the news that I had to leave. There is a girl next door, though, that is actually a banyan/janes/porno/deconstruction/dave fan. I took her down to ear candy music here in missoula to buy her a ticket, and found out it's an 18 and over show! She's only 15, but she's heartbroken that she can't go. I was wondering.... I don't even know if there's anything you could do, but she really wanted to go. Knowing her, she'll find another, less legal, way to get in, haha. So, if you talk to perk before he gets here, she would greatly appreciate anything you could do. I hate to ask a favor from you, but, I think you understand.

Thanks for everything,
PD

Yeah I got on the radio with Dave!!!

Shit if I knew I was on the air I would have thought of an intelligent topic to talk about....lol.

Shit I thought it was cool to talk to Dave live though he sounds so different on the phone.

Man, I feel terrible about what happened. But like you said, thank goddness they are alright. Your show sounded awesome...A lot of cool people! I think I'd explode or something. Glad to hear it went well. I also really like the banner you chose! Take care and be safe.

RE: BANNER IMAGES!

Dave, if your blog server supports PHP, I have a simple script that you can put in place of the banner IMG code, and it'll randomly pick an image (from a .txt file, each filename on a seperate line), or you could have someone set something similiar up, if that's what you want.

Hey Ryan,

Did you get the CF photos I sent you?? Did they open? Hope they didn't go into your spam file, as there were so many attachments! lol

BTW, when you called in tonight, you forgot to tell Dave that you were a 6767 regular.

I'm sure he would have been a bit more enthusiastic if he knew where you were from! Dave's very warm & open to fans, but he seems to be even friendlier when people from the 6767 weblog introduce themselves!

Next time, be prepared! lol

take care,
itanja

Posted by: itanja at November 6, 2004 08:28 PM

Hey Itanja,

Yeah I got the CF photos and they opened and everything so thanks again. If you ever get any more make sure to send them to me.

No acually I called CFR twice. The first time I wasn't on the radio and I introduced myself to Dave and everything abd told him that I was from the website but when I realized I was actually talking to Dave himself my mind
kinda went blank so I just said "Hi" pretty much and he told me to call back if I thought of any topics to talk about.

When I called back I didn't even know I was on the radio until the other people in the chat room told me but I still couldn't really think of anything good to talk about that I haven't already posted about before. But I think it was totally cool to get the chance to talk to him anyways. LOL

Laters,
Ryan

wow...so envious that you got to talk to dave ryan! congrats! i hope it was great! i can't stream camp freddy radio through my computer for some reason ::shrugs:: i'll just live vicariously through all your stories...thanks for sharing them :-)

btw...i just saw the movie Kids for the first time...very disturbing movie

I woke up just in time to catch tonight's CFR. great show. Ryan, I would be the same way I bet. I was going to phone up, and do the actor/actress impression for the hell of it, I mean I couldn't use the tickets over here in the UK. Just thought it would be funny, then when I got trying to do an impression to try it out, I was in a fit giggling at the thought of it...

I hope "Mr.Ant" calls you soon.

Which radio station is syndicating CFR? I heard you say it a couple of times, but can't remember.

Good idea about the banners Itanja.

I just wanted to say my thoughts are with Steve and Riss. I have never been robbed, but I can only imagine how horrible the feeling must be.

I just found out that my Grandmother passed away tonight. She was 90 years old and had gotten worse lately, so we pretty much knew it was coming. However, it's never easy.

I'm gonna have to catch Dave on Celebrity Poker tomorrow night for a little pick me up I guess.

~Lori~

Posted by: Lori_in_IL at November 6, 2004 09:45 PM

Emily... I couldn't speak for about a week after I saw Kids. I saw it in the theater in 1995. The scene when she has just found out that she's positive, and she calls her house from a payphone... her little brother answers and she just breaks down and hangs up. For some reason, that scene made me get teary (perhaps because I have a little brother who I'd never want to feel the pain of me being sick). Of course, the end is the clincher that left me speechless. To this day, I can't watch that movie again. I can watch all sorts of horror and gore and psychological brainfucks with no consequence, but that one (Kids) is engraved in my brain... no need to put myself through that again.

Lori... I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. 90 years is a lot of years to have lived. Both of my grandmothers made it into their 90s (one was 97), and when they went, we knew they had lived out their lives fully. But no matter how old they are when they pass, there is always the pain for the ones who bear their memories. I've come to think of those memories as a gift given to me by my grandmothers, and this brings me joy when I think of them. It took me a few years to get to that point though.

Hi all!! I've missed every one sooooooo much!! I hate this damn computer. It's so spoty on when it wants to work! I think it spends more time dead than alive. Sad thing is it's only a year old and just out of warenty. Stupid Gateway.
Sorry to hear about the robery. That sux ass. I've had my car broken into many times and when I lived in Sacramento the 7-11 down the street would get robed and without fail the guy would hide in my back yard.
OK next topic: Who all is going to the show on the 16th and dose anyone want to go do something before or after the show??

NightBird,

Thank you for your kind words. I do know she lived a long, full life. She was very religious, and I think she was finally just ready to go. My other Grandmother passed away very unexpectedly at 71...and honestly I don't know which was harder...seeing it coming or not seeing it.
Again, thanks for the kind words! My Grandmother was an artist (a painter), and I have her paintings hanging in my living room. They are constant reminders of her.

it does really suck about the steve and riss robbery...

now, it got me thinking...south africa has a high crime rate, and the laws here actuallty favour the criminal in situations of confrontation with a criminal. for example, i may not, by law, shoot a robber in my house. if he is armed with a gun, and i have a gun, i have to fire 3 warning shots before i am allowed to fire at the criminal. if i shot a criminal that is armed with a knife in my house i will be prosocuted with murder! if a criminal tries to kill me, then runs away and i shot/stab him as he is running away, i will be prosocuted with murder!

so, i was wondering, what does the law say in the USA about things like that. what if Steve confronted the criminal, what rights would Steve have if he had to have taken action?? im not saying that i wanted Steve to confront the robber, and im glad Steve is safe, buut just what if?
im very curious if anyone can shed some light on it?

Happy B-day Deena, and how are you Annie? Lori, I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

About the banner thing, I gave up because I still don’t know how to execute my ideas but I made 3 different colors of Dave TPC bookmarks. I’m still learning how to play with Photoshop so it’s a bit lame. Plus I can’t wait to get good pictures of everyone so I can make something better.

good morning everyone
i have to write a piece of 600 words why Bush should be elected for another 4 years and hand it in tomorrow at school..that's what i call a nasty assignment! i have an introduction, but that's only 150 words. my readers are religious, against gaymarriage and against abortus. it's a tough assignment, and maybe a good excersise for my exams..but i hate it. and there is no way i can copy someone elses work, cause everyone got a different assignment...

this morning i decided to dye my hair a little bit blonder. so now i went from blonde to henna-red to blonde to black with pink to darkbrown to brown-red to light-red to blond-red to blond....in 4 years. do you think dyeing is addictive? hmm..

okay, have to get back to the assignment from hell and stop talking nonsense! happy bday everyone and good luck with the banner thing!

NightBird~ Thanks a lot for voting for evergary! IOU one now. How did you know that 'ferdig' means 'done' in Norwegian?

Lori~ I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. I know it's painful to lose someone you care about, but please remember that 90 years is a long time to live, and you're lucky to have gotten to keep her for that long. I have a grandmother in her 80's who's pretty much been waiting to die ever since my grandfather died a little over a year ago (he had cancer and was very sick for a year before he died. I still miss him) Now everytime we go over there she keeps giving away all her things. If we don't take them she gets upset, because she wants to decide who gets it before she dies. Now her apartment is nearly stripped of photographs, vases, paintings, you name it, and it's so sad to go over there because it's just like she's waiting to die. I guess what I'm trying to say is I hope your grandmother loved life until her very last breath. I know that knowing that doesn't make the pain any easier to handle, and I wish you the best.

Hope yer all doing well.

Hi Wendy,

All is well here except I am up way late worrying about a friend. Tonight was all weirdness and bizarre happenings. Not fun weird and bizarre, but negative stuff. I need to check the horoscopes of all involved. Not that I believe in horoscopes, but there must be some explanation like planets colliding or something to cover this evening. And my day started with reading about Steve's misfortune followed by getting an email about a violent robbery at a small business with victims getting hit on heads with guns and being duct-taped. Glad nothing like that happened to Steve.

Looking forward to seeing you back at Dragonfly. Bring Karmina too!!

HEY!!! I just noticed that noone has a question for Dave here, and isn't Sunday his Q and A day?

ok, here goes...
1. Billy had a question about riders on his blog yesterday, I remember standing in line for your last Dragonfly appearance and seeing your tech wheel in cases of water and Red Bull..anything else your fellow bandmates like to have on or backstage for your gigs?

2. I heard you say that you liked the 'quirky' callers on CFR...also that the quirky guy would make a good on air personality....Can I come next week to CFR and make an in studio appearance?

3.My dog, Scrappy, gets mad at me when I am gone for a long time, and will seek out something of mine to chew and destroy. Has Daisy ever chewed something of yours or Carmen's?

4.How would one book The Panic Channel for a show? Do you have an agent? Is it the same for Camp Freddy?

5.What's in your refridgerator right now, remember when it was Haagen Dazs and Coke?

love to you and yours,
jezebel(15 more shopping days)

First of all, good morning Dave and everyone. Here in Italy (in Milan, especially!) is a very good, warm and sunny day.
Now I want to speak to my two new friends I have knew in this site: Crecencia and Jezebel.
Hey girls, good reply! I refer to yours comments dated 04 November. You're so right. Thanks Jezz..........
and.............happy (later) bday!

Crecencia, I hope you can find another job; I can understand your problem. I change mine one year ago and now I'm so well.
Bye and see you soon (one question: where are you and Jezz from? Thanks). Paola

Dave, I've been wondering this for awhile -

Does Daisy get to sleep with you and Carmen? Do you take her on trips since she is a little doggie?

Just wanting to know becuase I'm an animal lover!

Lori in Ill sorry to hear about your grandma. My thoughts are with you -

I'm sorry to hear about the violation of your guys' stuff. Glad everyone is alright though, that's really the most important thing.

Dave, what was the first tour you saw VH on, and what was the first concert you attended with Stephen?

Happy Sunday Sun :)
