Justice

Just1My wife is working on a show called, Summerland. It's quiet. I was supposed to do a session with Tommy Lee tonight, but that got pushed back till December. There is literally nothing to report. I am looking forward to tomorrow. I'm doing two Thanksgivings. One with the family and one here at home. I am going to take advantage of this time and catch up on all the true crime and forensic shows I have saved on TiVo. You know, use my time wisely. I could also use the day to stay glued to Court TV. They always run that ticker tape info thing at the bottom of the screen. Kind of irritating. Amber Frey does have good hair. Much better since the make over.

I am thankful for Dave being such a sweetheart and creating this site for us. What are all of you thankful for. Take care.

Dave~What kind of show is Summerland? Is it like a broadway show?

Did Tommy Lee realy take ballet lessons when he was a young'un? He told a magazine recently that here that he did.

Did you meet The Darkness when they were in LA? I am going to see them soon here.

Have a good rest day!

Love Lisa xxxx

Why is my typing all backwards? Hopefully you can make sense out of it. I just woke up from a nap, so that's probably why!

I am also thankful for Dave having this site.

We don't have Thanksgiving here. But I hope you all have a good one over in the States.

Hope you have a very enjoyable T-Day Dave. This time next year, you won't have this luxury. The new Panic Channel CD "Lyn" will have gone platinum, and all the agents the world over will be in a frenzy. Bono will be calling the house constantly begging you guys to do the world tour with them, as will Jagger, and some tough choices will have to be made. Stones-U2? hmmm....:)

Enjoy your thanksgiving dinners, Dave.

Hope you all are well!

Dave!

I watch Letterman a lot (do you?), and I hear Paul Shaffer/LNO play stuff off of "Strays" a lot. Last night they played "Just Because".

Do you know Paul Shaffer? What do you think when you hear either your material or Jane's material covered with broad exposure?

It would be cool to see you show up there on Letterman some night to sit in and jam out with them on a few tracks...show them how it's done! :-)

days-of-nothing... maaaan I could have done with one of those today. I had exams pretty much all day, oh-so-depressing, and I had Cliif Richard's "Summer Holiday" stuck in my head, which was endearing at the start, and then just mind-numbingly horrific one and a half hours later d;

I sort of understand the concept of Thanksgiving... all that pilgrim stuff, right? eheh, sorry for being British and not knowing these things *laughs*

so, um... Happy Thanksgiving, I guess! east lots of turkey, and, uh... yams... and... stuff. <3

Dave-I hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your friends and family! Well... I remember writing in the "GTKY Q's" that Summerland was my favorite show. I am happy for her, it should be interesting to see how the writer's fit her into the story. So Dave... is Carmen taking up surfing? One a final note I am sending a huge shout out to Jezzi, Abby, Sarah, Misty, Mortisha 8, Wendybird, Whitepony, Steve aka (Ima bout to do) and everybody else a very happy and safe Thanksgiving. Be safe and be well people!

A non-day can work both ways...I always start non-days with the best of intentions, and then end up getting nowhere...however, there is nothing better than to be able to just veg out, kick back and not stress about anything.

Have a good one

To the family:

Non-days for me are dangerous. I'm wired a little differently than most I think; I don't do well when I have too much unstructured time, especially by myself. I do take vacations/breaks, but I always try to plan activities, etc.

Anyone else have a problem like this? What do you do to get through it or avoid it? Has anyone 'solved' this one? I'd like to know your thoughts.

I hear you Dave! Love Court TV and Cold case, etc . . . I don't get to watch much TV during the week, so I catch up on my tapes during the weekend!

Everyone - a fun and safe Thanksgiving!

And for those who may not realize it - Christmas is a month from tomorrow . . .

Love Always,

Hi Dave,

Isn't 'Summerland', a syndicated teen or family drama? I think its been getting good reviews.

Since you love all those crime & forensic shows, have you been following the 'Autopsy' series on HBO? The presentation is kind of creepy, but it's an extremely fascinating & involving show.

If you have digital cable & 'HBO On Demand', I'm sure you can watch the repeats that way. I usually catch the show while channel surfing.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Hi Lisa,

Awhile ago, I posted a link to photos of musicians when they were children. There were photos of Tommy Lee attending ballet classes. I think one photo was actually of him in costume at school ballet production!

If I can find the link, I'll re-post it.

Hi Dave,

How cool it is that you have a site to communicate with your fans, and actually enjoy doing so. What a treat for us!

Now I have a chance to say that I have always loved your work, from the early days on; you are a brilliant musician with a lot of heart. As well, I just finished reading your book and found it inspiring.

It is good to know you are doing well in your life now, and I look forward to more recordings (hopefully the Camp Freddy album soon?).

Peace,

ummm...really dumb question here...but what is TiVo...i have no clue lol...i'm not technologically advanced at all! lol

dave you are too cute...i love that you love crime dramas etc. it just brings more elements of you to life for the fans, and makes you seem more real.

have an amazing thanksgiving (two dinners! wow...sunday style thanksgiving lol) and that goes for everyone else here! much love to EVERYONE!

Posted by: blondimofo at November 24, 2004 10:32 AM

Hi Emily,

I don't actually have a TiVo, but I do know it's some sort of weird VCR type machine which 'tapes' off your cable box without actually using a tape or any other media. It stores a certain amount of shows within the machine.

If you want to save what you've TiVo-ed, you have to hook the machine up to a VCR OR DVD recording machine.

I guess you can set it for each show. It also seems to work automatically, recording shows similar to the ones you have programmed it for. It seems to 'know' your taste after a while~! lol

Big Brother IS Watching You!

Hey Emily-TiVo is type of a VCR that records the shows you want but without the tape. It is really cool, you can fast forward through the commercials and you can pause it. Really neet-o thing. I don;t have one but I knwo people who do. The cool thing is that you can tell it to record anything that has Dave Navarro in it and it will record everything with him in it, beside your programs that you told it to record, like Sex in the city. I hope that make sence. -CC

Hey Dave,
I have an idea…why don’t you hold a contest—have us submit ideas for the name of the new TPC album? Or album artwork? You should make the artwork have a picture with all of our names embedded in the graphics. We could be immortalized too! Just a thought…

Everyone, have a great holiday, and those who don’t have Thanksgiving, just have a great weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving Dave, Carmen and everyone else here!!!

AJ - try reading, or writing a journal or something. (or creating some art if you are so inclined) You can also try listening to music and really zoning in on every word of the lyrics - like you're listening to a poetry book or something. Slow music is the best for that. You can gather a deeper appreciation for some of your favorite songs and feed your brain/keep yourself entertained for hours. That's what I do sometimes to keep myself busy....

Much peace and love everyone -
be safe -
I'm out 'til Monday...

Hi Dave, Carmen, and family,

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!! There's nothing like eating delicious food and counting your blessings at the same time. Enjoy the day and the downtime that will follow. You certainly deserve it!

And Dave, don't worry if there's nothing newsworthy to report. Believe me, it's just as fun to read your random thoughts on things like TV shows and hairstyles. :)

To comment on AJ's post, I think I know exactly where he's coming from. I am usually a disciplined workaholic, but I can be an extremely hedonistic slacker as well. When there's TOO much time free on my hands, it's a scary proposition, because the slacker side rears its ugly head. I wind up doing a LOT of meditation and reflection, but ultimately a lot of nothing!

Hence, I too NEED some kind of structure and routine in my life. For instance, I am between jobs at the moment, home most of the time. I'm adhering to certain rituals to keep me in line. I read the paper each morning, work out every day, make sure I'm dressed by a certain time, make sure I accomplish at least 2 or 3 things around the house. I listen to music, but try to avoid getting sucked into the "boob tube." Often I'll run errands or try to do some freelance work. I'm attending some workshops here and there. (I have to admit: As long as I can stick to these routines, I can definitely get used to this lifestyle!)

I guess my point is that we have our whole lives to work and be slaves to "the man". So a little bit of downtime can be healthy, because it lets you focus on the other important aspects of yourself and your life.

As a wise person once said, "The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."

Gobble gobble,
-Denise

Hey dave! Glad your having time to yourself, it's nice to have that space. I hope Carmen is having fun doing Summerland, never watched it before but if she'll be on it... I'm sure I'll watch. I'm glad you two had a nice anniversary! Well have a nice dayy! Oh and Happy Thanksgiving to the both of you, I hope your Thanksgiving will be a time to remember!

AJ-Here's a fun thing I like to do. Take like 5000 dominoes and try to position them, real carefully, while listening to the entire Navarro discography AT FULL BLAST! Or, try making a house of cards, or one of those 50000 piece puzzles with like Mr. Crowley or Crazy Train at a volume of 11! Harder to do than you think! Or, go buy some clay and make like animals and buildings or replicas of normal desk items. I can make a bad ass pair of scissors and a pretty mean stapler. Good for the digititis or carpal tunnel:)

Soph~Thanks, now I have Summer Holiday going around in my head, and I have just watched Top of the Pops 2 which I love. :D So I had The Beastie Boys, "You gotta fight for your right to parrrrttteeee.." in my head before reading these comments. :D

I love TOTP2, reminded me of seeing the Beastie Boys back then at Brixton Academy, and Run DMC. The Boys, inflated a gigantic penis, and I mean huge, on the stage that night. And I got £5 stolen out of my front pocket of my jeans. GRRR!! No drinks for me that night. I did better than me 2 friends who had their tickets stolen on the way in. Damn it was fun though.

Hey folks

This is probably going to be of no interest to some if not all,BUT I HAVE TO SHARE AN EXCITING DISCOVERY

I've just used my girlfriends Volumising Shampoo on my beard, this isn't a goatee or a van dyke with big pork chop side burns, this thing is all joined up baby!!!
And its getting BIG,i'm not trimming it or anything, its BIG and WILD,anyways,it does have its problems,i do have bad beard days, and they are becoming more regular,
some days it just will not lay the way i want it to,my beard can be a bitch sometimes.

So i've been searching for a product that will make it more managable, and softer(ya know, for the lady)
I'm definately not one for this male grooming thing,
(could explain why David Beckham isn't playing Football so well these days"i might break a nail guv')

Anyways, this shampoo is great, the beard is now combable and soft and it has way more body to it than before.

I thought about using it on the pubic area but decided that would be going too far,it might give that area too much of a retro look. That might be frightening.

Steve L-i love my beard

AJ
i dont have so much free time, my business, friends, concerts, but when i have time i enjoy spent my time with my pets. I have 2 dogs (a pink poodle and a coker spagniel), 4 turtles, and a lot of fishes. its very relaxing play with them, take a walk to the park.
or you can spent your time listen to Mr. Navarro¡¡¡¡
and like Denis said a little bit of downtime can be healthy, so enjoy it¡¡

steve L, i just love your story!! great idea to use Volumising Shampoo on your beard. if i were you (you probably noticed i'm a girl and have absolutly no beardexperiences -thank god-) i'd try out different kinds of products and brands. there are so many different shampoos and etc. on the market. i always like to try out different ones, because they don't always do what the pagage says, but sometimes they work suprisingly well!
wish there were more guys like you, trying to make their beard or goatee softer...

2. Happy that you're able to now manage it
3. Sick thinking about the pubs
Hey, how about this? Weave the beard into the pubs! You're lady will REALLY love ya then!

HAHAHA,excellent.

I was all other hair with Head & Shoulders, anything else makes my skin itch and flake, but it makes the beard go really wire like,so volumising shampoo it is for now.People say my beard looks ginger,i say its spaghetti sauce.lol

Hi AJ,

Sorry, but I totally cannot relate to people who can't do something with their free time!!

Life is much too short to have such a rigid agenda to follow. I know, because I've been working my ass off since I was 21! I am not old enough to retire..but I am certainly ready to~! If only I could. I wouldn't know where to start, considering all the things I would love to do!

So much of our time is spent dedicating our lives to our jobs & to taking care of other people, most of us would love to just have enough down time to dedicate to doing things for themselves & by themselves! It has nothing to do with being selfish either, it has everything to do with keeping our sanity & remaining healthy.

I was a slave to my last job, working sometimes 10-12 hour days...for what...making the CEO even richer? How I even managed my own life into this 'career', which I even brought home with me on the weekends...well, I'm surprised I have any sanity left. It really sucked the life out of me. Plus the sort of people I dealt with daily were soul sucking parasites! I confess to staying there for the money, without it , I wouldn't own any real estate & have my home!

As an artist, I love having 'free' time to create, rearrange & redecorate my home, take photos, draw, paint etc. Take care of my turtle. I also enjoy the time I spend with my friends.

Like the rest of the world, I must must make a living, so I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll have to pursue a 9-5 job...or something close to that...in order to keep a roof over my head for the rest of my life. Thankfully, I don't have expensive tastes, so my lifestyle is fairly low key, I don't 'need' a $5,000 Hermes bag to make me happy! lol

Of course, having to make a living, doesn't mean I will fall into the same trap of having others dictate my life again OR succumb to torturous long hours just for the pursuit of the almighty dollar.

Perhaps we all have to re-think the sort of superficial things we think we 'need' to make us happy??

There's so much to do & see in the world, even if you don't have extra money to travel....walking through a beautiful park is free. In fact, I've been visiting my small local park lately...just to sit there & look at the NYC skyine view or to read.

Don't let life pass you by because you feel the need for such a structured existence. I don't know what you do for a living, but here's something I'm trying to do these days....I'm trying to make my hobbies into my new career. So many others have done it, so why not!

Happy Thanksgiving,
itanja

Ylais-Do you want two sugars in your coffee or just one LMAO with your coffee and here is the roladex you asked for! BTW:I cleared your lunch schedule, added in a meeting with a high end CEO, your clothes just got sent back from the dry cleaners. Those designers shoes you ordered just came in, 12 pairs of Gucci shoes in different colors. Your first class, better yet private jet is waiting for you.......LOL! Yes, I agree with Itanja's post. Thank God, I do not fall into this category of work. Yes, I agree it is to easy to get sucked up in your "Career Bubble" howver, you need to make time for yourselves beautiful people.......As per the "Soul Sucking Parasite" phrase I have my own in the line of work I do. I call them "Emotional Vampires!!!" LMAO.

Brett

Posted by: Brett at November 24, 2004 01:49 PM

Thanks Lisa & Denise,

I just said what I truly feel, I'm sure many people CAN relate! We all need more time for ourselves.

Hi Brett,

I didn't actually have such a high powered career.....but my staff & I certainly HELPED make the careers of others in the company.....the underworked & overpaid VPs & CEO......you know....making the evil boss look good & helping him make $500,000+ a year??

take care,

Hi Dave and everyone else here! Happy Turkey Day to all who celebrate!!!!!!

Is Summerland the show that's on the WB network? I watched it this summer and really liked it, then it disappeared. Heard it was coming back! Hopefully it is! Shawn Christian is an old favorite of mine who used to be on my soap 'As the World Turns'. Hope this is the same thing you were talking about! Would love to see Carmen on the show!

Someone brought up the big 'baby' question. I know it's a personal one....had many people bugging my husband and I at our wedding as to when we were going to start trying! If it's too personal to answer that's fine....but come on.....the two of you would make the most beautiful children in the world....of course, 2nd to mine! LOL!!!!! (Mommy's are always biased!)

Enjoy the holiday with your family!

Dave,
Have you had the chance to read "A Series of Unfortunate Events"? If you havn't I would deffinately suggest them for a free day off. They are designed as childrens readers so you can go through them quickly. They are extreamly dark and twisted I think you would LOVE them. Can't wait for the movie to come out (Dec. 17th), I'll be first in line to see it! Just a thought to make a free day sorta' productive.

Two Thanksgiving dinners? Wow! And it's not even cheat day... uh oh ;)

Court TV...grrrr... it's is an ongoing issue in this house. My husband pretty much watches Court TV and nothing else. I find it fiercely boring, unless "Cops" is on because that could be pretty damn funny. He alternates between Playstation 2 and Court TV. Every night I wait ever so patiently for him to nod off a bit, and I tiptoe over and gently pry the remote from his fingers. I change the channel to something, ANYTHING else. 10 minutes later he wakes up halfway and says, "Could you put Court TV back on please?" Usually I do and the cycle begins again. This is what I go through every night I'm online (my computer is in the living room next to the TV). It's on now and he seems to have fallen asleep, so it's time that I tiptoe over...

A wonderful Thanksgiving to all of you,
Spreading the candied yams with extra marshmallows,
Deena

Sorry wasn't trying to say someone couldn't read I just ment when I got the first set I blew through them in a day while napping between books. =)

Posted by: Rain at November 24, 2004 07:42 PM

Whoops, I almost forgot! Awesome hair product of the day: "Smooth n' Shine Polishing, Instant Repair Polisher". The stuff is the bomb. It's like liquid glass. Just a drop applied to wet hair makes it smooth, and shiny as hell when it dries, without being greasy.

... and I just discovered a new makeup product that's heaven in a jar: Stilla Smudge Pots. It's kind of like heavy gel shoe polish but for your eyes. Apply however you'd like. A little jar of potent eye goop that sets firmly in seconds... very black, simply wicked.

Just sharing some fun,
Deena

hey people!

shout out back at ya Brett!

Steve L - you should post a pic for us to see that glorious beard. ;)

"Perhaps we all have to re-think the sort of superficial things we think we 'need' to make us happy??"

yep, Itanja... Last night i went to dinner at a friend's house for the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Her husband is muslim and was marking the end of his fasting. Him and his sons did the whole speal of not eating from sunrise to sunset, no water or any type of drink either. And when the sun sets you can eat, but no gorging yourself. It's a cleansing thing that teaches discipline. Not only that, but it teaches you to get by with very little and appreciate the bounty of food available to us. If you think about it, there's so little we actually need to survive.
I remember watching an episode of Newlyweds with Nick L. and Jessica Simpson where Jessica was set to do a show but her hair stylist's flight was way delayed and wasn't going to be able to make it. My god was she upset! It was as if some horrible tragedy had happened. I could not see the big deal about it at all. And I was thinking "Uh, you're not going to die and it's not going to take much to make you look even better than you already do, just do it yourself... you should be grateful you even have a stylist." I didn't think it was something worth getting upset about at all.

As far as Thanksgiving goes, no family to spend it with this year for me as my parents are overseas and my sister went up to Sacramento. I'm watching her cat while she's gone and I'll be hanging out with a friend who's also soloing it tomorrow.

hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

A reminder to be thankful for your loved ones...

...Today my friends husband was killed in a car accident, in the middle of the day...

One minute you're gabbing with the girls about what you'll be cooking for Thanksgiving, the next you're giving consent for organ donation...

Money, popularity or looks won't mean a thing if you lose your soulmate, so hang on tight...
