Question: Do you still use that white Prs single cut? or was it just for a guitar photo shoot? I've seen it ounce, but never again.
Go TpC!
What about starting that 6767 jam again? I know we're all more or less busy at the moment, but why not? who's ready to fire up something?

Good Morning Dave and Family!
I'm loving these recent pics Dave...thanks!
Enjoy the show tonight LA Family...as always, I'll be anxiously awaiting your reviews :D
Angel...I'm with you when it comes to Christmas...my last name should be Griswold! In fact, I have an appointment with an Electrician tomorrow morning to give me more circuits...last year I put up so many outdoor Christmas lights and decorations that I burnt out my GFI on Christmas Eve! All that work and about 1/3 of my lights were toast on Christmas day! :(
Well, I won't make that mistake this year...I NEED MORE POWER!!! :D
Happy Tuesday all...have fun tonight LA peeps!

Jezebel,
I'm not sure if we are talking about the same video. I found one Rexall Video on the DNIG site, but it was the "real" video...
I was thinking of the one that looked homemade, where you can see Daves ex cut on his chest, and lick her higheels and nice stuff like that..;)
So, has anyone got an idea where I could find this video?!
Got to have it again!!
thanks

Dave - the picture - OMG!!!!!!!!!!! No fair looking that good!
Yo LA - enjoy the concert. There is a group of us that wish we could be there. $5? I spend more than that on my lunch. Can't wait to see where you will be playing in the spring. A few of us (Tex, Jilla, etc . . . ) are going to try and make a girls trip.
Music - I need it NOW!!! Along with something else (look at the picture and GUESS!) LOL

OH!
I forgot! If anyone is looking for a great place to hang, before or after the gig, go to La Velvet Margarita Cantina on Cahuenga between Hollywood and Selma. The place is unreal and it's only a few minutes from "the fly." Let me know how you like it.

Hi!!
To the person who suggested yesterday that Dave do a "20 Questions" for Metal Sludge, I say, GREAT IDEA. I've been waiting for years to see that!
Metal Sludge is an awesomely funny site that pays homage to metal while simultaneously poking fun at it, which I think is great. (The only problem is that they haven't always been too supportive of Dave or Jane's. :( But Dave can put them in their place as only he can!)
Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing well, and I'm LOVING today's pic. Mucho caliente! I have to assume the gorgeous and lucky lady Carmen took it?
Cheers,
-Denise

Dave, I was just thinking of that Punk'd episode, where Dax was telling Carmen he tried to blow up her picture 400 times, welll..........thats' what I was thinking, I need lifesize pics in every room, would that make me "obsessive?"
LOL!!!
Damm those eyes!!!!!
hey, Anna, like I said, I gave Dave my VHS of Rexall at the booksoup signing, grr....
Cassandra-didn't get your email, get mine, and call me on cell
Mouse- I will see you there as well
Blanca!!!! I'm here...
All is well, I have a date with my son tomorrow, my professor likes my paper again, ummm, still haven't been able to convince other instructor of my CHARITY story for Dec. 2nd....

Speaking of Christmas & decorations....years ago, I did 'visual display' at Macy's during the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays, it was the busiest season for display there, I loved it. It was really a lot of fun, but the money was lousy.
To break the monotony, we'd also do the Macy's regional east coast stores, we'd spend at least 2 weeks in each store decorating it. Some aspects were tedious, we had to create fake Christmas presents, by the time I got to the 200th bow for the fake gift boxes (yes, we also covered each box with Christmas paper) we put under the trees, I'd had it for the day.
Yet ,it was a fun job at the time & I met lots of interesting people. Though I do wonder if I'd want to do it today. One of the people on my team described it as; "construction work without the high pay!" Yes, we were always lifting, cutting wood & foam core, using hammers etc. Unfortunately, the money was awful.
There were some scary aspects to the job, climbing the very tall ladders in the NYC store to put the huge wreaths up was not one of my fave things to do, plus the doberman watchdogs used to wander the NYC store after closing time! There were many evenings we were asked to work after 12AM.
YES, there were doberman attack dogs, I don't know if they are still using them. One night I was walking up the escalator to bring some items to another floor, the escalator was off & there was a doberman on that floor! We were given the code words to yell out, so they would not attack us. I, thankfully, realised the dog was on the floor, turned & walked back down!
That's just one of my many jobs in the 'art' field I've held over the years! I've don't it all. I'm ready for a new career, any suggestions??

ooops...I've DONE it all....

If your online persona's are any indication of how you really are, then I'm impressed. Lots of love here, and lots of good people.

itanja.... We must have the same resumé. I did visual merchandising and windows for a major jewelry company a few years back, and we'd travel to all of the regional stores, including Macy's, to change seasonal and holiday exhibits. Maybe I brushed into you a few times... And NOW, I'm a print graphic designer. Stop copying me! :-)
Have fun tonight in LALAland... Love y'all.

Hey Dave,
Thanx for sharing part of the early Rexall video. Very cool. I never sawe that.
I heard there should be more videos from the spread days. I already got the Hungry and Venus in furs videos from that time, but I heard there are videos for Mourning Son, Sunny Day and Not For Nothing as well. I'm very, very curious about those.
Any chance of sharing those.............and the complete Rexall video???

Hi Nightbird,
I think I'm a bit older than you, so I did it all first! LOL That's why I'm so burnt out & really ready for a change!
Before actually working for Macy's, I freelanced for MONET, checking out the jewelry displays & changing them etc. I also worked with their sales people in the regional department stores, suggesting the best ways to promote the jewelry for 'maximium sales impact'. lol . That was a very tiring job, the travel part turned me off. I don't drive, so I felt as if I was on the railroad or the MTA most of the day!
After that, I was the studio manager & graphic designer at a NYC fashion buying office, which went out of business. I miss all the free clothes!
In between all these different 'art' related jobs, I was a concert photographer. I also did my time freelancing for a few record companies & magazines as a graphic designer. I actually did the layout mechanical (yes...T-square, triangle & rubber cement!) for the RHCP 'Abbey Road' EP, though I take no credit for the design.
We have to meet for coffee sometime & exchange 'war stories'~~!!
Are you from NY? I get confused with peoples locations!
take care,
itanja

I am so happy right now I could scream...rather than do that and attract unwanted attention, I decided to come here and share instead.
My Grandma, who just turned 90 on Sunday, has Alzheimers and I am her legal guardian. She lived in a very cozy Alzheimers facility and has been very happy there. She fell down last month and broke her hip and is now in a wheelchair so, she lost her bed in the Alzheimers unit (you have to be ambulatory to live there). She was moved to the "skilled nursing area" of this particular facility, which has been a hellhole. They treat her like a potted plant and she has been very depressed and disoriented. Not to mention, this facility is about 20 miles from my house in our downtown area, it's scary at night and there is never anywhere to park.
There is a beautiful facility for skilled nursing care and rehabilitation about one mile from my house. My Grandma was there 3 years ago after surgery for rehab and we were all just so impressed with how great it was. Well, since she can no longer be in an Alzheimer's facility, I tried to get her moved back to this closer, much, much, nicer place....and was told they had a two year waiting list for long term care beds.
I have been so bummed trying to figure out what to do and watching my Grandma get ignored at this place...I called a friend of mine who is the Union Rep for the nursing home near my house to ask if she had any thoughts on what I could do...she made a phone call to the Administrator and low & behold, they moved my Grandma to the top of the waiting list. That was 2 weeks ago and I just got a call that they have a room for her...I am moving her there tomorrow!!!
Anyway...sorry for this long rambling post...I am just so excited, you can't imagine what this has been doing to my head the last several weeks...anyway, I thought I might bust if I didn't get to tell someone!

Hey -
Cori - Congrats on the good news re: your grandmother. I hope everything works out. I know how challenging it can be when grandparents get old and need to go into homes.
Blondi - Hi! It's so funny that you mention the Surreal Life. I used to watch it sporadically, but I got hooked on the last one... with Charo, Flavor Flav, Brigitte Nielsen, etc. Flav and 'Gitte were such an odd yet cute couple. They MADE the show. (Rumor has it they're getting their own reality show now.)
I've always gotten a kick out of Flavor Flav. I remember him from back in the early Public Enemy days, years later I would always seeing him on News 12 getting arrested for this and that... my husband even met him once, and got his autograph on a napkin. (Which we still have, of course.) Not as great as having Dave's autographed book, but pretty cool nonetheless. :)

Wow, just want to say I'm happy for you Cori! Medical shit with loved ones can be so damn stressful-I know, I'm still going through similar crap. But, much like you, I got great news today as well. My Mom, who I asked for positive vibes/prayers for on this blog, finally has been diagnosed, after 12 days, with B.O.O.P., which is a form of rare pnuemonia treatable only with steroids (Biochialitis Oblitereans Organized Pneumonia). They're gonna steroid her out and send her home, tentatively, in a couple of days. I want to Thank each and every one of you that sent out good vibrations and karma and prayers my way. It's my humble opinion that everyone that contributed vibes my way have helped with this new direction, and I can't put into words how grateful I am. Although not out of the woods yet, at least we now know wtf it is and they can treat it. Jezebel-Thank You! May God Bless each and everyone of you wonderful people!

Speaking of country music & confessions (I got hooked on the previous Surreal Life & this one is pretty much perfection!) I saw a second Jack White/Loretta Lynn video today & I really liked it!!! I don't much care about Jack White or Loretta Lynn seperately, but somehow together, I was enthralled! I feel like it's such a gimmicky thing & I hate being manipulated like that, but it sounded so awesome! Please tell me I'm not the only one!
Okay, I just decided to start one of those topics to discuss!!!
"Guily Pleasure, what's yours?"
Even though I just disclosed one, I got another one, Viva la Bam
I hate myself for it, but I just can't help it!!!!

Thanks for all the nice words and good thoughts...I am thrilled beyond belief!!!!
Lyn...good news about your Mom...I'm sure having a diagnosis and something you can "concentrate" on has been a big relief...you both remain in my prayers.
Itanja...feel better soon!
And to Missy, los lonely boy, Melissa ("M"), Tammi, THEQUEEN, Samantha and any other new friends I've overlooked in my self-absorbed state as of late, WELCOME!!! It is nice to "meet" you and great to have you here!

Freak - I'm completely into working on a new 6767 musical collaboration... I just need my brother to get some guitar down first!
Posted by: Theresa at November 16, 2004 04:44 PM
Dude dave, i'm so bummed i bought the newest alanis morissette cd because you said Eric Avery played bass on her recordings. To my dismay he doesn't on this album. Did i misunderstand you and you said he plays bass for her on tour, or does he actually play bass on other recordings of hers?

Blondie,
I work for Macy*s now. Do I receive any extra cool points for that?

The Simple Life 2 Soundtrack Lyrics
The Penfifteen Club - Hey, Ms. Hilton
Oh, my, looky there
Stone cold, foxy platinum hair
Short skirt, barely there
Make a chick wanna hate, make a boy wanna stare
Well
Miss Hilton, you must be worth a trillion bucks
Get the feeling that you don't really give a f..
Miss Hilton, I like the way you push and glide
Rollerskates on a social butterfly
Woo!
Breeze by velvet ropes
Ski this town like a hunny slope
Oh, my, there she goes
A long bodied girl in her short bodied clothes
Well
Miss Hilton, you must be worth a trillion bucks
Was it you wiith your body all up in the club?
Miss Hilton, I like the way you push and glide
Rollerskates on a social butterfly
Come on
Instrumental
Miss Hilton, you must be worth a trillion bucks
Get the feeling that you don't really give a f..
Miss Hilton, I like the way you push and glide
Rollerskates on a social butterfly
Well
Miss Hilton, you must be worth a trillion bucks
Was it you wiith your body all up in the club?
Miss Hilton, I like the way you push and glide
Rollerskates on a social butterfly
Whoo!
Miss Hilton
Miss Hilton

absolutely mike! you totally get cool points for macy's as does angel...i work in retail too...only at banana republic...too bad the customers don't get the whole theory of Holiday Cheer...they can be downright nasty to me...it's sad...but i maintain my smile anyway...it's hard to be mean to a smiling person...or at least that's my personal belief

The "guilty pleasure" question has got me thinking...
I'm of the belief that you should never feel guilty about pleasure, as long as you're not hurting anyone.
With that said, most of my "guilty pleasures" can be renamed "embarrasing, goofy and/or age-inappropriate pleasures that others might not understand". This would include watching really stupid comedy flicks and TV shows, or watching vapid programs and countdowns on channels like E! and VH-1. I also have an obsession with the VH1 Classics channel. (I love watching all of those old, obscure '80s videos.) It would also include listening to (and loving) disco, funk, and club music, and dancing around my house.
This might even include being a big fan of one particularly handsome, sexy, cool, funny, down-to-earth rock star, and corresponding with him and others via his website. (Some folks have teased me about this.) But what can you do? We all have our hobbies, and this is one of mine.
There are a few others, but I don't want to incriminate myself TOO much. ;)
Cheers,
-Denise

Remember "Martika" and her solo "Toy Soldier" What was that about? :)
Posted by: Cynthia at November 16, 2004 08:55 PM
For Cynthia,
Martika
Toy Soldiers
Step by step ,heart to heart ,left right left
We all fall down like toy soldiers
It wasn't my intention to mislead you
It never should have been this way
What can I say
It's true I did extent the invitation
I never knew how long you'd stay
When you hear temptation call
It's your heart that takes ,takes a fall
Won't you come out and play with me
Step by step ,heart to heart ,left right left
We all fall down like toy soldiers
Bit by bit torn apart
We never win
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers
It's getting hard to wake up in the morning
My head is spinning constantly
How can it be
How could I be so blind to this addiction
If I don't stop the next one's gonna be me
Only emptiness remains
It replaces all ,all the pain
Won't you come out and play with me
Step by step ,heart to heart ,left right left
Later,
Mike from NYC

I gotta admit... Journey had some great tunes there. Overproduced and melodramatic? Perhaps. But that's what the 80s were all about.
Pop-Up Videos and Rocky Horror... way cool! I approve. :)
Posted by: Denise at November 16, 2004 09:08 PM
gotta get in on the guilty pleasures thing...i would be an asshole not to:
TV Shows:
-agree with denise...any countdown program (always a chance to see dave) on E! or VH1...i'm addicted to those...and the "i love the..." specials are great too
-Buffy the Vampire Slayer
-Boy Meets World
-Early 90's shows like Saved by the Bell and Full House
Music:
-Spice Girls
-Christina Aguilera
Movies:
-Love, Actually
-Drop Dead Fred
-The Secret Garden
-A little princess
yess...i can be sappy lol...those are my basic guilty pleasures lol..ha ha...but i love them to death! :-D

I am so dissapointed. I was really looking forward to see TPC for the first time tonight, but I couldn't go because it's a 21+ show. Guess I'll have to wait for the Key Club show. Are those tickets sold at the door only or available ahead of time.

The show was amazing. Dazed and Confused was way more then I expected, if I really expected anything.
You guys were great tonight.
Was Chaney the person who picked that out or did you do it collectively? You guys are rockin beyond what anyone can expect.
Nice to talk to you again this time. Hope to talk to you again at the next show. Hopefully you will have some more time.
Thanks Again TTT
Now sleep is needed.
